Allerton Manor Golf Club in Liverpool

A lovely relaxing time had by all. The Fish and chips were delicious. Lovely friendly staff. Perfect.

I remember playing this course when it was a muni (probably about a tenner back then). Now it’s £35 for 14 holes of golf, 10 of which are instantly forgettable. Poor drainage, long walks between holes, bizarre course design and holes located on mounds on the putting green made for a joyless stroll, despite some lovely autumnal sunshine. It didn’t help that some berk/berkette had worn footie boots to play their round in, leaving stud marks in the greens. Can’t see this venture surviving - and apparently the owner has “form” for this. Will probably be turned into a housing development in the not too distant, and that might not be a bad thing.

Serious Food Safety Concerns: We had a deeply troubling experience at this restaurant. Both my wife and mother-in-law suffered from food poisoning after eating their seafood. The following day, I called the restaurant and was told that a manager would contact me, but I never received a call. Four days later, I reached out again, only to speak with a manager who seemed indifferent and showed little concern for the situation. What makes this even more concerning is that my wife is breastfeeding our 3-month-old son, yet the manager displayed no empathy or understanding of the gravity of the situation. He mentioned that a form would be emailed for us to complete, but, to this day, we have received nothing. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first negative experience. A few months ago, my wife had to return a chicken burger because it was undercooked. It’s disappointing that we will not be returning, as this restaurant is conveniently located nearby and has the potential to be a great spot. However, after such poor food safety and customer service, we can no longer trust it.

Currently a 14 hole course. Fairways on holes 1,2 and 14 are poor due to being fairly new and backfilled with rubble by the looks of it. Bunkers are nice and greens are very good in places. Some holes require a bit of rolling as the bobble is noticable. Let down by the price to play and the fact that they let people rude round on bikes trying to sell you golf balls. Would only play this course during the weekday when it's alot cheaper.

Clubhouse and bar etc are nice but that’s as good as it gets. Wouldn’t bother with the golf here. Course is in pretty dire condition. Only 14 holes. Greens are ok on some holes but some of them are unplayable with huge chunks missing or full of dirt. Fairways some of the worst I’ve ever played. Holes everywhere. Don’t even get me started on the bunkers. Some full of stones and some just with far too much sand in. £35 a round for this place is daylight robbery. Even at £20 a round I would still be disappointed. Safe to say I’ll never come play this course again.

Wedding if my friends son. It went well.

Went to a wedding, had a very good meal, and had a disco plus a buffet for people who were working and couldn't until the evening.

The Old Stables Restaurant,allerton Golf Course has now become our favourite place to go for Sunday lunch. Fantastic food and great portions, the meat is lean and cooked perfectly, who knew carrots could be so tasty and cauliflower cheese perfect.

Gorgeous venue staff well trained and freindly, food was lovely.

This club only has 14 holes, plus the guy in the golf shop is very rude, because of this I will not play at Allerton Golf Club again.

Not a bad course but priced wrong, £35 for 14 holes of golf with unfinished fairways is a bit delusional if you ask me, old holes in desperate need of an update and new ones are still a work in progress. I know it wants to be a championship course but it’s not yet. Better places to play around Liverpool for the same amount of money and actually 18 holes.

It was really good food was nice, the only thing that let it down for me was the service? Yes it was Saturday, but it wasn't overly busy, my son and I had lunch there, we had booked a table, it took almost 10 mins for someone to come and take us to our table 🤷‍♀️ and then another wait for menus, and we had to ask for a drinks menu ? Finally we had our meal on the table, and as said earlier it was nice... my son then spend 6-7 minutes after asking for the bill, for somebody to take our money, he eventually went inside (we dined on the terrace) to find someone to deal with the bill 😳

I held a networking event at The Hay Loft for the Liverpool Wedding Network. The team put on fantastic hospitality for us and made us so very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful wedding venue. The food I. The Old Stables is absolutely gorgeous as well.

Need to get rid of blaring pop music..who wants to sit in a beautiful area for breakfast with the morning peace completely ruined ?. We didn't..so went to the Mansion House in calderstones park jnstead

Haven’t played here since work was going on and played on Friday 12th July morning, alls I can say is well done to everyone it’s amazing and well worth the wait, this will be the top course to play no doubt. Can’t wait for the full 18. Even got little lookout in the trees

Had to pay £5 to gain entry to Fletchers Bar, absolute rip off. Food is ok but expensive. £15 for burger and chips. Pint of Guinness £6.20. Beer garden is good in the sun, but it's all really not worth it 👎

The old side of the course was OK. The new side still needed time to develop ( ground was sandy and not much grass under the ball ). Unfortunately, it was slow, and there was a lot of waiting on each tee.

Looks great after huge revamp and the fan zone outside is really good, deffo will be going back .

Most over priced venue still a building site £35 for 14 holes on former municipal course actually greens good no twilight unless you pay £35 and £5.90 a pint hillside far cheaper beer prices and made welcome most staff allerton are good though unfortunately big turnover

Had our wedding here a few weeks ago. Can't recconmend it enough. Grounds are stunning, the room was beautiful, food was amazing and they really couldn't do enough for us. Demi, Ruth and John (and the lady who got me though some photos) where so helpful and accomadating. Wish we could do it all again. Thanks from The Naylors! :)

Service was very slow outside, we waited a long time for our first drinks and even longer for our second. A lovely setting but much more awareness of staff is needed and more staff.

Lovely course but we were queuing for a while at every hole as it was very busy. Would be an amazing course to play if the club limited the amount of players better.

Absolutely loved playing at Allerton Manor even with the 4 closed holes. It is clear that the course is going to be fantastic when it is finished. To top off the whole day scored a hole in one on my first ever round. Luck is the word but the course was well maintained and the perfect challenge.

What a beautiful place to have breakfast alfresco. Right next to a golf course.

Although only 14 holes at the moment this course is in fantastic condition. the new holes are still a little bare on the fairway but still amazing. if you have not played here for years ( like me) you will be in for a massive shock. only one slight nag so to speak.. no yardage markers on the new course side but other than that we will certainly be playing here again even with just the 14 holes. Top job well done to the groundsmen.

First visit, staff exceptional,clean tidy food very good. Would definitely visit again.

The course itself is quite scenic, offering a decent challenge. However, the pace of play was slower than preferred, leading to a bit of frustration. Clubhouse facilities were adequate, yet service could be more attentive. An okay visit, but there's room for improvement.

No facilities for golfers Needs coffee machine, air hose etc

Recently had my 70th birthday party in the Hayloft. The Events team were very helpful in the planning and the staff were excellent on the night to find ways to assist as we set up. Everyone liked the food and the venue

Booked for my mother-in-laws 80th birthday, and it was superb from start to finish. Every single member of staff ensured the whole evening went smoothly, and really took care of all of us. The food was outstanding, and the entire night was superb.

The breakfasts are excellent and served in lovely surroundings. Service can be slow but worth it. Plenty of parking.

It was a bitter sweet experience because we were saying goodbye to Denny. It was his funeral reception. I can't fault the venue. It was perfect, and the catering was exceptionally good.

Family Christmas dinner in The Old Stables. Food was lovely, staff excellent, both professional and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. We had six children under 8 with us and they had a great time. Father Christmas arriving with personalised gifts was a lovely touch. Festive atmosphere completed the package. I would definitely recommend the venue for an extra special Christmas treat. Well done to the lovely manager and all his staff. Thank you

The venue was perfect for our friends wedding last night, The decor of ceiling beams, lighting, fires ect is quite eye catching . Staff were exceptionally pleasant & helpful. Maybe need to keep an eye on WC (both ladies & gentlemen) as the night wore on, they became quite "Messy" ..

We visited their marquee at the manor today, big screens showing football, table service for those Christmas cocktails and a great festive menu including a hog roast Barm! Wonderful vibe inside and great for all the family . Lovely staff .

The course is extremely well kept even after a few days of heavy rain, the greens and fairways were still solid and fast! And the holes are very fun to play

The course that is finished was quite nice. After golf the club area has limited seating for golfers. What seating is available is very nice.

I haven’t played Allerton for about 5 years and was looking forward to returning. It’s great to see all the redevelopment going on and playing 9 holes for £12 was great value. The course itself in the main was looking reasonably good, a few dodgy spots on and around greens but not bad. However the pace of play was terrible. It took us in a 2 ball 2 and half hours to get round 9 holes. I’ve never seen so many lads on a course sharing clubs and messing about on greens with no thought of the players behind them and it really spoiled our game. Some thought needs to be given to the rules around sharing clubs etc. We wont be rushing back unfortunately.

Attended a friend's wedding. Great venue with plenty of parking, lovely terrace with plenty of room and seating , all the staff were superb and a huge credit to the place. The main function / dining room was spacious and very relaxing , decent size dance floor and room for DJ / entertainment Well organised and excellent foods , separate bar area is a good place to sit comfortably and chat Again, a BIG pat on the back for all the staff ,the team manager was very hands on and always busy making sure everything was on time and on the right place. Would definitely recommend

It's a great course for a nice 9 holes, I have however had a bad experience of an old man who steals my balls and other from the green and bushes. He verbally attacked me when I asked for it back, and I have been approached by him 4 times aggressively since...please ban him..other than the crazy old guy, brilliant course

Played the last couple of Fridays. £24 is steep for a nine hole twice, when you have to wait up to ten mins on every tee. So many non payers just walking on the course and nothing is done about it yet I'm the mug who pays. The bunkers are made of concrete sand the greens have so many pitch marks that are unrepaired. It doesn't look like the course is looked after. I have never seen a greenman. I doubt I'll be playing here again. Think I'll go to other local courses from now on till it changes.

Beautiful outdoor bar area and dog friendly. Lots of seating (some covered) and massive TV screen. Great selection of drinks. Also a very nice restaurant. Very friendly. Car park facilities are large.

Attended a wedding at The Hay Loft. Ceremony room was beautiful. The terrace was lovely but may benefit from some lower tables and chairs. Food was delicious. Attentive, organised staff.

Fairly basic course and not particularly interesting to play. Only 9 holes at the moment and somewhat temporary course while the 18 is being redeveloped. Clubhouse, facilities and location are what make this venue though. Outdoor beer garden and the restaurants are incredible!

APPALLING SERVICE 😔 Went for coffee and breakfast and waited and waited for our coffees, tried to get our server person "Sally's" attention... She totally ignored us. Only 2 tables in the whole venue and we were simply ignored. Absolutely unacceptable. Another table came in after us.. Seated and coffees immediately. Did our face not fit?? Got up and walked out in the end deeply disappointed and will never return. AVOID AT ALL COSTS... go the wonderful friendly cafes on Allerton Road. We went The Corner Room Cafe, had an amazing breakfast and coffees and the owner had great banter with us too. You've lost good custom there guys.

If you manage to find this place it as a very modern friendly restaurant, From tea, cream tea afternoon tea and full menu, you can sit here countrified. Just out from the city centre this is well worth a visit, just plan to find it.

It was pouring with rain so we were only coming for a meal. Popped in at the pro-shop as it looked like an upmarket club but were so disappointed as there was so little to see. We approached the door of what looked like the eating establishment but everyone was so busy rushing around collecting wet cushions and wiping the floor they didn't notice us, so we left....

Value for money a challenging lovely 9 holed course

Came here on the weekend and was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. We were served by a man called Chris and he was so kind and friendly. Will 1000% be coming back!

Lisa Sarah & I had the most fabulous afternoon yesterday We had the Bottomless Brunch & it was simply amazing food was gorgeous, our glasses were topped up even before we had to ask Sally & Tom were so attentive & lovely Xxx

Super friendly service, good value for money

I’ve previously written a positive review but after an extremely negative experience recently I felt I needed to give an honest review in the interests of balance. I recently attended the outside bar area for food and drinks with my family and was shocked to witness a fight when a member of the public and their dog were kicked and attacked by someone I have since been informed is actually the owner of the establishment! When we complained to a member of staff we were sworn at in front of our already upset children by the guy who is allegedly the owner (he was obviously under the influence) and told to leave. In the interests of transparency, the manager has since contacted us and offered us a free meal at the establishment but no reference has been made to the fact we were verbally abused by the owner nor has an apology been given for their behaviour. We have previously been loyal customers and feel hugely disappointed that we can no longer go but we feel we have no choice if this kind of behaviour is considered acceptable.

I would like to thank Alex for his finding I had left my mobile phone in a buggy I had hired a true professional on your team that put the phone under the desk for me to collect there was £290 in the wallet all my cards driving license and so on can’t thank Alex anough and in my eyes should be promoted Thank you very much pal regarding all the changes going on at the course at the moment who ever is in charge needs to flood the course with as many skilled men as possible to get the job completed or your going to be looking at two years or more to complete kind regards to course cheers 👍🏻

Best place in Liverpool,its like being abroad

Amazing venue for a party at the Hayloft. Setting, staff, service, cleanliness…. Top notch!

Some elderly family members went here with my husband and I this afternoon for cool drinks & food on a hot day. I had to go and ask twice for menus to be brought to us and then had to go and ask on two more occasions for our orders to be taken. The drinks arrived after we had been there for almost an hour. The attitude was disgraceful. There were plenty of staff on duty but only one appeared to be doing any work. The others were standing round chatting & ignoring customers’ requests for service. When I asked to speak with the manager I was told they weren’t on duty today. I work in the service industry and would have been mortified if any members of my team behaved like this.

Expensive and wet. Spent over £500.00 pounds here and wouldn't let us sit out of the rain. Spoilt the day.

Went for breakfast for my mum's birthday, the food was gorgeous but we were unfortunately let down by really poor hospitality. Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was empty. We got the wrong food and drinks with no apology. My grandad ordered a large breakfast but was given a small... When we mentioned this he was told the rest of his breakfast would be brought out on a separate plate. This arrived once we had all finished eating. Baby's meal came last. We had to ask 2 different waiters for water 3 times. Again it arrived once we finished eating...we had to ask for plates to be moved off table. Had to ask for the bill twice. Never have I experienced such bad service, such a shame especially when the food was so nice and the chef clearly does a brilliant job. Wouldn't recommend bringing kids here.

Last 2 times we have left after waiting over half an hour for a menu,won't be going again!

Nice round of golf - staff very friendly and accommodating. While there is some development work on the 18 hole, a little more signage would help but didn't take away from a great morning! Many thanks

We booked our twilight wedding with Demi at a wedding fayre in 2022.l for March 2023. Every interaction we had with the team was amazing - quick responses to any questions and so well organised. The venue itself is perfect, it has a intimate feel but still with perfect space for our guest list of 90. The food was exquisite. All of our guests have raved about the quality of the food and how amazing the venue was. We are so thankful to Demi and the team for helping make our wedding day the perfect day!!
