All Star Lanes - Brick Lane in Tower Hamlets

Not an incredible experience this Friday 14th February, I paid £28 for probably around 20 minutes of bowling to not even finish our game to be called for the next person to come for their slot! From an organisational and financial perspective it didn’t seem particularly fair for me, understandably it was Valentine’s Day but better customer service would have been appreciated here. 🟡 I would probably recommend one of the other All Star Lanes which I think are perhaps better run such as the Holborn location. 🎳

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We booked a game for 2 people at 6:20 pm on Friday the 14th of February 2025. We only got 20 minutes to begin with, which gives only 10 minutes per person to bowl. At £28 for two people and 10 rounds per game per person, each person gets 1 minute per round to bowl twice. This is the only bowling chain that has such strict time limits on bowling - it's similar to using a machine at a gym except at the gym you use an appliance to complete your set and leave, when you go bowling however, you expect to be able to get a couple drinks, bowl, and at least get to chat a little bit, as is advertised on the All Star Lanes website!!! This was supposed to be a social activity, as per the website, not a sport training session. In addition to the above, none of the bars (near the lanes, or otherwise) had staff there, so we had to leave our lane and go look for staff to take our order, taking at least 5 of our precious 10 minutes away from bowling, and wasting 5 rounds (at 1 minute per round). If all of the above wasn't bad enough, the staff (especially the ones giving out bowling shoes, and the lady in charge of that, I believe,) was SO rude. I have never had someone roll their eyes at me that many times in a 2 minute conversation. It was as if I were annoying her by asking her for shoes in my size. Before we could even head to our lane, she had reminded us of the time we had left 3 times; it was like we were on a countdown. This soured our mood before we even got to bowling. Further, even though our 20 minutes were up and all other bowling lanes were completely empty, the lady at the shoe station changed the names on our bowling board, and sent the next group to our lane to boot us out of there; when she very well could have sent them to the numerous other empty bowling lanes. The drinks only came after we were booted out of the lanes. All in all, this was probably the biggest waste of money and time we have ever experienced. We left at Friday, at 7:40pm and the entire place was dead empty and silent - checks out.

Not very flexible. Fixed menu with no substitution. We had the booked £32 pound deal, the waitress said I couldn't have the Korean BBQ ribs even though the menus didn't exclude it. Person I was with doesn't eat chips and wanted to substitute, however was told that she couldn't even though the all star bun could be substituted with a salad. Air conditioning was on in the restaurant area and it was very cold even though it was 4 degrees outside. Not impressed with the food options, but especially the lack of flexibility. The only good thing was that we never lost our booking even though arriving 20 mins late ,however the lanes upstairs were empty and so they did not bend over backwards to fit us in . There is no telephone number to call if running late, just an email although it appears this was picked up when we emailed half an hour prior to arriving. If you're going to go, make sure you manage your expectations. The food is sub standard and the menu is fixed. It does have a range of activities; bowling, darts, karaoke, drinking and food.

We had a corporate event yesterday at the private room of All Stat Lane in their Brick Lane branch. The venue was super nice, with enough space for us to mingle, 3 private bowling alleys, and a private bar. It was about 40 of us. The staff was really helpful from booking to executing the event. They have let us use our minimum spend as we wanted and adjusted their packages to our preferences. They helped me make the menu, the serving times and answered all my questions about the event and ensured me that everything will run smoothly. People loved the unlimited bowling and the karaoke machine! We had booked an entertainer to get people play some games too - Lisa Pizza. She done great to get people out of their shells and kept the laughs going. On the day our host - Suzana was super helpful, and she helped kept me informed about what is happening and ensured everything is served on time and we are happy with everything throughout. Our bartender - Patrick, was super friendly and mixed us some great cocktails! Made some excellent recommendations of what to have. They were both super positive, helpful and attentive. The food was also very delicious and got demolished very quickly. We really appreciated the meat was halal and there were some vegan and vegetarian options too. Thank you all for a great time! Will Definitely use you again in the future and recommend to others!

So incredibly expensive that even the kind staff can't make it worth returning

Bowling itself was fun, but the pricing was a total letdown. It just doesn’t make sense. You’re charged £14 per person per game, but here’s the catch—you only get 10 minutes per person to finish. So if you go with a friend, you’re paying £28 for just 20 minutes of playtime, whether you finish the game or not. If you bowl fast, you’re done early, and if you don’t finish in time, tough luck—it’s over. It feels like a sneaky way to charge more without giving you a fair experience. Really disappointing!

Received poor service from staff - shrugging their shoulders at us after making a simple request on our (very short) 20 minute game of bowling, which was very overpriced for peak times. Bad value for money, poor service, would not go back any time soon.

Went on a weekend when we had to eat in order to bowl. The service in the restaurant was super unfriendly and slow, what was included in the package we’d ordered was really confusing, and when the food eventually arrived it was warm. I guess because they have a captive audience of anyone who wants to bowl they can get away with it but I wouldn’t go back here.

Came here tonight to do karaoke, turned up on time to be given a room with peoples food/drinks left in it, tablet to do the karaoke not working and absolutely no wifi that worked so had no phone access the whole time. When we complained about the karaoke not working they said that the person with the key to get the tablet out of its case was 30 minutes away?! Bit confused on why you wouldn't store the key in the building. We did get a full refund but disappointed with the lack of decent service - the employees we came across felt like they didn't care. Would not recommend the karaoke booths.

The WiFi is so bad that you’re forced to spend your time without using the internet, just like before smartphones were invented.

Went there a while ago and won't be back, and only having 20 mins for a game? You're barely starting to play at that point. The food was below average too. Nothing there made me want to come back.

We were at All Star Lanes Brick Lane in the private hire section for a company event and had great time! Susanna, our host, and her team did an amazing job at keeping us happy and hydrated throughout the event. Food was solid and the location has a great setup for all kinds of private events. Refused of service when we asked to bowl because we were sixteen. But when we ate they were very glad to take our money then!

Ok place to have some bowling in London. The equipment is quite dated and the food was not great. The crew was friendly so that's a plus.

Nice venue and the food/drinks were good and well priced. But the service was shocking. Every staff member seemed to be in a bad mood and argumentative. We were ignored multiple times. Also witnessed staff being rude to other customers in front of us who seemed shocked by the service too. Had to wait to be seated, even longer for someone to get our order. Staff seemed arsey if we had any questions, wasn’t willing to give us time to decide on our order or start with a drink.

Disappointed - not one to leave reviews, but was disappointed with our time here. Came using a voucher for my partner’s birthday for one game of bowling, a meal and cocktail. When we came the staff weren’t exactly welcoming or warm but that didn’t really bother us initially. I asked if we could add another game on to extend our time out of curiosity, and the lady at the counter just stared at me and shook her head. After a while I just walked away; very awkward and cold. About 25 mins later, another member of staff said to us “there’s 4 minutes till the next table can you hurry up” and then continued to just stare at us to rush us. Just overall didn’t have the best time, restaurant service wasn’t the best neither. I don’t know if it’s because we had a voucher or if it was just busy for the staff, but wouldn’t come back. Shame as had the potential for a really fun date night.

Overcharged for everything that required staff interaction. Of which the interaction was ridiculous and shirty. How do you greet us at the desk then greet and serve the people behind us, twice and then proceed to take an unnecessary length of time to allocate the only lane available at the time we were told to return to the desk? Cute quiet bowling alley. Lane 4 needs fixing as it's warped. I would've preferred no staff interaction than what we recieved. Definitely overpriced and limited ball selection.

Nice place. Loved the atmosphere. Only downside for me personally is that you need to wear the bowling shoes they provide. I wasn't really comfortable with that

We came here for my sister’s birthday to do 1 hour of karaoke. Nice facilities overall however were given 2 microphones between 4 which meant we had to take turns, choice of songs wasn’t great and microphones weren’t nearly loud enough (could barely tell they were being used!) We did have a good time but next time we do karaoke we’ll look for another venue.

For those touring the UK, especially through different agents, kindly do your own background check on their website before booking. Customer service and waiting time is a bit wanting, even during off-peak hours

They literally had one staff at the reception to serve customers on a busy day like this and we all had to wait and We had a two bookings for two different activities and we just need to wait. Plus, they have cut our bowling time by 2 to 3 minutes and it wasn’t actually total one hour as they say and just a note to the business, you wouldn’t go bankrupt by giving people exactly 1 hour time. Wouldn’t go here again. Totally disappointed

Paid £80 for a bowling lane but could only play for 20 minutes. They didn’t let us have two rounds even we paid for 50 mins! Rubbish

Had a great time with my friends from abroad to celebrate my bday. Had great fun and met genuine nice people there too. My friends had a blast with the karaoke and it was a great surprise to see Tamil song in the playlist. A great place to have some fun !

I love a good game of bowling, but the time period allotted for a large group was far too short. It doesn't really allow for much socialising whilst bowling. The private lanes upstairs also do not have any bar staff present and there are no QR codes on tables to order drinks, so having to run between floors whilst sticking to a time table made for a bit of a stressful evening. Ate in the restaurant afterwards and the food was average. If the time tables were extended slightly it may be more enjoyable, especially if you're bowling with a group of 10 or more.

My office held its Christmas party here and it was an overall good experience. We enjoyed some bowling sessions and dinner. I ordered the Pigs in blanket - Hotdog from the Christmas menu and it was the best decision. The meal was so good and wanted more.

Even booking 3 weeks in advance they only allow you to book one game, they told us because they have back to back bookings. After our game finished the lane was empty for a long enough time to play another game! Who wants to go bowling and only play one game??

Bowling was alright, food was a disaster, we waited more than an hour despite the fact that we were the only table. Even the desserts took ages, i am still waiting as i write this review.

Came here for an office event… Very poor customer service and rude staff who couldn’t care less about being at work.

I had my birthday celebration here. We had an amazing time! The food was great, the atmosphere was super fun and the DJ played all our favourites songs! Karaoke was fun and easy to use. Big thanks to Manuel for making our experience especial, smooth and enjoyable. Thanks to Ana for her attention and assistance. Can’t wait to go back!

An absolute shambles of a business. We booked an office event for 8 and had an issue at every single point of the journey. Food was terrible and took an hour. The 'deal' offered on their website made no sense and none of the staff could even communicate how it worked. The bowling team only had one lane for us instead of two. They even lost our bank card that we were asked to leave behind! This place must be close to closing down. Everyone who worked their acted like it was a sinking ship. I would strongly urge you to consider somewhere else.

The Resturant Service was terrible! We had to wait over an hour to get our food, our orders were forgotten. The food is very mid and not worth the prices, the vegan/vegetarian options are inedible.

I visited All Star Lanes last night and I have a few things to say about this establishment and its service. I usually go to this establishment to do karaoke with my friends and most of the time we have an amazing time. However, this was unfortunately not the case last night. We arrived promptly at 4:50pm for our karaoke session which was booked at 5:00pm but were told by the staff that there were still people inside and that they needed to clear it out. We proceeded to wait until around 5:10pm before we were allowed inside by a staff member by the name of Alex. Our first issue occurred when we were unable to order drinks but this was a minor problem. Our next issue was that the screen broke halfway through the session and we were unable to see the lyrics. Then, came the biggest issue whereby the same staff member 'Alex' barged into our room, demanding that we leave the room as our time was up. We calmly explained to him that we weren't allowed in till 5:10pm, therefore our time was cut short and we also mentioned that the screen broke halfway through the session. Alex then met us with the worst attitude, telling us that the reason our time got cut short was because we were late and threatened us, saying that if he checked the CCTV, it would be proven that we were the ones in the wrong. He also then proceeded to struggle for a good five minutes to fix the broken screen and system before trying to make a crude remark to my friend that the screen was working. My friends and I all maintained a calm attitude towards this man who treated us poorly and disrespectfully and who also said that he would talk to us afterward when in fact, he ran off and refused to speak to us. Thankfully, we were able to talk to the manager Lorenzo and he issued us a refund for Alex's horrid behaviour. I'm not sure we will be back but I would like to thank Lorenzo regardless for listening and taking in the feedback on behalf of his staff member. I hope some action is taken because the way we were treated was absolutely appalling.

Fun afternoon with lunch and drinks!

Venue is nice, food was pretty good, however, quite a few times bowling messed up and pins sat floating causing some no point rounds. When we arrived and sat down, we were waiting for half of our group and noone approached us for drinks etc. has huge potential for a 5* just not quite there yet.

It's been a long time since I played bowling, and I've rediscovered how much I love it!! This east London place is really welcoming, you can drink and eat. Highly recommended!

what was otherwise a perfectly good evening was ruined by the very rude and condescending staff members at the front who checked the bowling reservations.

My husband and I had a voucher for a main meal with drink and a game of bowling purchased as a gift. We booked at the Brick Lane venue via email, there was some confusion with the voucher we were using when we arrived to the restaurant for our meal, this took a while to resolve but afterwards the staff were very friendly and we were very impressed with the food. We both had a burger and they tasted great. The bowling was also good fun, it is quite dark and cramped in the bowling alleys, there was also no drinks service so we went to the bar to order drinks which was slightly slow. Other than these, we had a really fun evening and would recommend for a date night or group night out.

Beautiful place to visit in London

I was really looking forward to celebrating my 25th birthday here, and had paid for a party of 7 to bowl up front. However, due to an issue beyond my control I was unable to make the booking and let them know two hours before via email. Having paid in full, I'd think it good practice for any business to do their best to accommodate us at another time, but all I got was a curt, dismissive response via email three days later. Think before you book!

Fantastic bowling venue…..free from the sensory overload of other more commercial bowling alleys…..food sounds good too but haven’t tried it yet!

Went here for bottomless brunch. Service was slow, every server apart from one seemed to hate working there/were openly disdainful towards us when we asked for anything. Staff attitude was not good at all. We also witnessed one server be shouted at by a manager, very unprofessional!

Went to this location as part of our company gathering, they just wanted to get us out as soon as the game was finished. Took ages to get access to the karaoke section. Could have been much better had they been more organised or better prepared.

Came here with my friends for the karaoke and the bowling, we loved it. We booked the karaoke for an hour, we went slightly over time as we lost track of our hour, and the staff were so nice about it, they didn’t ask us to pay extra. I would say the only downside of karaoke here is that the room was quite small. There was 5 of us, and the room felt so stuffy and packed. The room we were in, had the tv mounded straight by facing the corner of the room, which was such a weird angle because we couldn’t stand and read the lyrics. We then decided to book bowling on the spot as it was in the same area, it was great fun. We spent a little time in the arcade area, it’s obviously not as great as real arcades but it’s still something. Aside for the size of the establishment, the experience was great.

Visited for drinks before going to dinner. They offer a Happy Hour on weekdays so we enjoyed a number of Cocktails. Situated on Brick Lane it is a handy place to meet friends for a drink after work and for some bowling.

We had an amazing party at All Star Lanes! The atmosphere was lively, and the bowling was so much fun ! The karaoke room are super, lots of song choices. Huge thanks to Annamaria for her outstanding service—she made sure we had everything we needed and had the best time. Great food and drinks too. We'll definitely be back!

Do NOT use the inbuilt Google Maps Reserve a Table feature - I booked a table for 7 people and received an email that the business would “confirm the booking”. They never contacted me, there was no contact number and I had to scramble last minute to make alternative plans.

Absolute waste of money, we arrived and half way through the game we were told they had to cut our game short as the next booking had arrived. Don’t even bother going here not worth it!!! Staff were rude and not helpful

Bowling was disappointing - very old equipment despite the high price charged (old shoes/balls/displays). Also despite ordering drinks at the bar, service charge to the drink prices without telling you - as the amount on the card reader only displays the total amount, you would only realise after checking the menu prices. Would not recommend.

Usually go to the stratford All Star but wanted to try the Brick Lane branch for a change this Bank Holiday. Much smaller and intimate venue. Staff member that attended to us was a bit stand offish but we still had a great time. Ideal for family or smaller groups that don't want too many people around like the westfield All Star

Absolutely loved the environment! Went here for bowling with friends and after that stayed for the Euro 2024 finals and the atmosphere was electric! Loved the food, loved the bowling lanes and loved the well made interiors!

*Terrible slow service and dishonest practices* I took my team here for a fun night out after work in February. Whilst the food was good, the service was terribly slow. We were waiting for almost an hour despite the place being relatively empty on a Friday night. After we had finished our meal (which was honestly quite good), I asked the waitress to pay but said I would not be happy to pay the service charge. She said she understood and would "be right back". After another 15-20 minutes (with the bar refusing to take my payment), I suggested to my colleagues that we just go through for our bowling game given we had been allocated a time slot. After a further 10 minutes. the waitress came running into the bowling lanes in a huff and shoved a card reader in my face. I tapped my card as we were in the middle of a game and I had made it clear to her that I would not be paying service. Turns out, service charge had been added, but I didn't notice until looking at the receipt the next day. It is now July and I have been liaising with someone called Ceon in "Customer Service" to try and arrange a refund of the service charge that I feel was obtained dishonestly. Despite me providing a booking number, proof of purchase, details of the card the booking was made under and a full statement of what occurred, I have been given a litany of excuses as to why the refund cannot be processed. The Venue Manager and Ceon have both simply passed the buck to the other. I have given up on seeing any money back from them after 5 months of chasing. TLDR: Good food, fun bowling, long wait times and poor service. ...Oh, and check your bill carefully, because if you're overcharged, you won't be seeing the money!

We waited so long for our food that it hadn’t arrived by the time our game had finished. We were the only people in the building and spent almost £20 on just some chips and nachos (plus a service charge which we could not remove despite the fact that we ordered via a QR code at the table so there was no service???) which should take just a few minutes to prepare. When we asked for a refund because we had waited ‘like 20 minutes’ the staff member told us we could have one, then came back and said because it had actually been 15 we couldn’t have one. We reiterated that we’d prefer to have the refund than the food as we were now leaving and they still gave us the food anyway and refused to refund us.

Bowling was fun however there’s no options for barriers so keep that in mind. Where it suffered was the poor hospitality and customer service from the staff. They were very cold and abrupt, we walked up the stairs to the lanes and the staff immediately pushed us to the side whilst we waited for the previous party to leave. There is a service charge added to all drinks, even if you order at the bar!! My beer was flat, I took it back to the bar and one of the the bartenders accused me of lying. He tried to prove me wrong before eventually giving me a new one. Within a minute of finishing the game, we were ushered off the lane quite rudely (there was no one waiting to take the lane). Finally, the staff cleared our drinks before we had even finished and we tried to say we hadn’t finished but they just walked off! Overall a disappointing experience for the price we paid!
