Ali's Indian Restaurant in East Lindsey

I ordered on Saturday and there was a lovely girl on the phone who was patient with me while I was struggling to decide what to get. The food was amazing and I will go again soon.

First time I've been back to Ali, since it has reopened. Was not disappointed at all, had a banquet meal for one with my daughter. It was absolutely amazing, will definitely be reordering a takeaway again from there without hesitation

We decide to have a takeaway from here last week and I would have to say it’s the best Indian takeaway and restaurant in Louth. The dish I had was a Pathia that I’d never had before and it was just the right amount of heat and the flavour was amazing. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Food is very tasty & fresh, always arrives hot and the Banquet for 2 is an absolute bargain will never eat from any other take away

Best Indian delivery we have had in a long time, everything travelled well and tasted lovely, arrived hot and on time and all the dishes were so full of flavour and the amount you get in the banquet was unbelievable

When we arrived at this 'restaurant' we found it was just a takeaway. There were a few tables and chairs stacked against a wall. The gentleman there said no restaurant. Disappointed and curious after reading reviews. We ate in Cleethorpes instead.

Am stopping in Cleethorpes over night and i read the reviews and thought i would take the short drive out to try. I did the right thing. This place is well worth the visit, as another reviewer noted this isn't another run of the mill indian takeaway. I had the takeaway set menu for 1. There was enough here for 2. I wasnt sure what to order for my main and after discussing the options said i liked a dry dish and they came up with a meal that was perfect. I strongly recommend Ali's and will definitely call again when I'm next in the area.

Just been and picked up a fabulous takeaway. First rate meal would highly recommend. Dansak was beautiful. Made very welcome by the friendly young on reception.

We were so pleased that Ali’s opened again having heard nothing but good things about it from all the locals and Sara the plumber. With some trepidation we decided on a takeaway and fully prepared to be served up with the usual generic similar tasting bulk food. We were wrong. Having worked with people from the subcontinent all my working life I can be a bit picky, but the food and prompt takeaway collection was outstanding, with generous, well cooked, tender portions. Looking forward to next time

Ali's has always been our go-to for indian meals, we are so delighted it has re-opened. Takeaways are always delicious and our most recent a week ago was no different, keep up the good work

Unable to use card payment unless they rounded up to £15 . It's only 5p but come on . Didn't offer to give the 5p back in cash. Must spend min £15 . In this day and age it should not matter .

Hi We had two meal for 2 deals last night. After waiting so long for you to reopen we were excited. Unfortunately the excitement was ruined. The bhajis were over cooked inedible. The naan was over cooked and hard. Bhuna was bland and tasteless along with the pilau rice. Masala was bland Along with other two dishes. Disappointed after paying over £50 Your reply I’m sorry you feel food was not up to scratch. This is the only complaint we have had since we reopened.

We ordered a takeaway from Alis last night after hearing it was back open and it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic & the service lovely as always - the best Indian around by far! So pleased you're back & we will be ordering again soon!

i have just eaten a chicken tikka bhuna madras hot from ali:s indian takeaway...i must say it was delicious...the taste was sooo full of flavour from the spices ....the meals from Ali *s never let you down

We moved to the area 6 months ago and obviously checked out the local dining. We couldn’t believe our luck, the local Indian was well respected, so happy days (or so we thought). We arrived during lockdown and tried Ali’s on our first night and I thought it was okay. I’ve subsequently made my way through the ‘spicy signature dishes’ and found that consistency and customer service is not something Ali cares about. I’ve come to the conclusion that Ali only cares about profit and the bottom line. We had some friends to stay (recently) and the meal ‘chicken dancing Dansak’, ‘lamb dancing Dansak’, ‘South Indian garlic chicken’ and a chicken jalfrezi. The lamb was very tender and the sauce was tasty. The chicken version was no where near as tasty and the other two dishes were passable. Passable is what Ali offers 95% of the time. Living in a village, you can live with passable when the restaurant is around the corner. We decided tonight to try Ali’s once again. So I had the dancing lamb, keema rice, a chicken tikka and a portion of chips. We ordered over the phone and arranged a pick up time. I arrived promptly to collect and as I walked into the restaurant I noticed that they had just had a delivery. I then realised why Ali’s curry’s tasted familiar and boring. There were numerous large jars of PATAKS catering sauce amongst the rest of the delivery. Now, I don’t have a problem with PATAKS, however when I get a takeaway I’d prefer something more authentic. Anyway onto tonight’s meal. I’ll be brief, the tikka lamb was tough as shoe leather and inedible, the sauce was tasteless and stodgy. The chicken tikka was cold as were the chips. It was then that I thought for the first time, I would ring and complain. I was ou through to Ali and he wasn’t interested. He said next time he would do better. I told him that I’d bring it back and get a refund. He told me that I probably had eaten most of it and he would not refund. I told him that if he had served that to me in his restaurant, I would not have paid and that I wanted a refund, he refused. So I packaged the uneaten food into its containers and returned to the restaurant. I spoke to Ali and he refused to refund me the £20.15. I left the bag with him as I have enough rubbish in my bin already. Ali only cares about making money and not about his customers. His attitude left a lot to be desired. I personally will never spend another penny in his restaurant or the sister restaurant ‘Asha’i n Louth.

We have been using this restaurant for quite a long time now, but we were amazed at the change in the quality of the food. Ordered takeaway tonight and the change in quality is amazing, Ali's used to be one of the best in the area, but today was an absolute disaster. The pasanda was massively sweet and tasted more of coconut than almond!, and the naga, I don't believe had ever seen a naga chilli (I have grown and eaten some of the world's hottest chillies) although only a guess, but using ultra hot sauce to heat up a curry does not work! Yes it's hot,but the flavour is gone! Won't be using again, total waste of money

Just finished another fantistic meal. Whatever I choose off the menu it never fails to impress me. Always very tasty and to whatever strength I ask for.The staff are always very friendly and always have time to help.Thoroughly recomend Ali's for a tasty meal.

Recently had the banquet for two,first time since lockdown began. Still spot on just as I remembered,everything was piping hot and cooked to perfection.Definatly will not be a year to the next one,great food and plenty of it.

We have ordered and collected from Ali's throughout lockdown, having been regular visitors to the restaurant in normal times. I really can't understand the negative reviews I've read, except that two come from the same person. If it was that bad, why go again! Anyway, back to our review which, once again, is 5 stars. We ordered over the phone and twice Ali himself took our order. The young ladies who took our order the other times were always polite and checked they had everything correct. We opted for collection as we only live a few minutes away. Both our meals, on every occasion, have been excellent. One thing that is really useful is that the strength of any meal can be adjusted by the chef if you ask. Can't wait to be able to sit inside the restaurant again.

Delivery took ages food was creamy and warm not hot no steam or nothing. Really reflects on the quality of service too the way I was spoken to on the phone.

During Covid and lack of deliveries of stock.. the banquet for 2 had ceased.. bit it's back now!Excellent staff answer the phone quickly and politely. Really friendly and there is no rush.Opted for delivery. Busy day.. so took about an hour and a half.. but was told this on the phone.. so no problem. Delivery guy friendly and cheerful.. and the food arrived piping hot/fresh.Starters. Shamie Kebab and Mixed Kebab. Both hot and colourful. Served with fresh mint sauce and a salad. Very filling!Curries as usual.. flavoursome and rich.. with delicate spices and herbs bringing out unique flavours. The butter chicken had a thick sauce and a creamy, buttery flavour. The Jal was hot, spicy and the green chillies/peppers in it really gave it a fresh and exciting flavour/bite. The fruity, nutty rice... was amazing. Light, fluffy and really tasty.Naan bread (onion and garlic) superb.. although I still heat it through in the oven at home to crisp it up a bit! (The foil bag always let's it sweat a bit! Lol)Side dish of potatoes made this a meal for 4 not 2! Still the number one Indian in our area. Honest, fresh, quality and the staff are second to none.I continue to fully recommend this takeaway.

I'll start by saying the food itself is nice, you can't fault them on that, not the best I've ever had but a solid 7 out of 10. The problem here is they are useless if you order out. After tonight I've now lost count of the amount of times they've missed something off an order. The best bit is you have the option of waiting an hour to redeliver the missing bits or you can drive all the way back for them to replace it with not even a 'seeing as we messed up here's a free poppadom to cover your petrol'. With regret won't be using again!

We decided to visit as our first trip out after lock down. Was very impressed with sevice,food and new social distanting rules. Well done we will be back. Thank you for making us feel safe.

Best Indian food I've had for a very long time, you can taste the difference between the use of authentic ingredients to create heat in the dish too simply adding chilli powder like many others do. Excellent you have a new delighted customer.

Curry was okay not much better than a microwave meal though, wasnt supplemented very well either as my Nan breads were cold and popadoms were missing...

After debating which Indian takeaway to try for a birthday treat I was recommended Ali's .Telephone ordering was quick efficient and food arrived earlier than quoted.Their was a good selection of dips to try from the pickle tray and the mini mix starter got favourable comments .Although the 2 chicken chats we ordered had decent quantities they were quite bland.For mains the lamb balti was tasty but the 2 chicken madras's were not very nice and both tasted of burnt garlic , which was disappointing. Rice dishes were quite oily but tasty.Overall experience was spoilt by the burnt madras dishes so unfortunately won't be using Ali's again.

Ali's takeaway never fails. Whatever I order from Ali's I know it won't disappoint me. Tonight I had, popadoms pickle tray, onion bhaji, vegetable dhansak mushroom rice. Every dish was delicious. Visited last night to celebrate a birthday; and to our surprise birthday girl received a free birthday meal. As soon as we entered we were greeted by friendly staff and quickly seated. A big thanks to Pam, Kelsey and Maya for making us feeling welcome the whole time we were there. The food was amazing could not fault it and the customer service was brilliant. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family and be back in the near future.

Terrible, felt like a fish in a goldfish bowl, staff staring at you throughout the time spent, Music awful, monosyllabic chimes dinging in your earholes throughout you're meal. Ordered 2 chicken madras they were so hot it was inedible. And to finish it of an Indian at 2x the cost of anyother indian. If you like to be watched as you eat while being driven round the bend with chimes, burn your mouth out and pay for the expensive experience have a nice meal at ali's indian.

We had our first takeaway from here since moving into the village and we were very impressed . The flavours were spot on , we will be using this place as a regular in the future

Valentines Day - late booking. Short staffed, so had to wait a bit for the food but when it came we were not disappointed. Too much for my wife so I had to finish it off - definitely no room for dessert!! Highly recommended.

We spend a lot of time in the villiage, and used to visit Ali’s a lot until a few bad meals a year or so ago. We recently took another chance as we’d seen the reviews fly back up to 5 star, and we weren’t disappointed! The food is absolutely lovely, the service is friendly and very welcoming, it’s a fantastic little local restaurant you absolutely have to try

Best Indian meal we have had for a very long time. Food with interest and a depth on flavour (unlike the ‘meat in soup’ dishes that other local Indian outlets seem to serve up). Will certainly revisit and use them as our go to take away too.

i visit ali's restaurant every week...i can not believe the beautiful meals they can produce...the taste is simply superb...the portions are large and the staff are really friendly and very helpful..the restaurant is very pleasant and this creates a lovely atmosphere to eat in ...as they also do a takeaway service....i can not recommend this restaurant enough....superb

This is my favourite Indian and there's plenty of them to choose from. I don't like my curries hot, which usually means I end up with something bland and creamy, but not here, the food is full of flavour. Restuarant itself is modern and spotlessly clean, staff are freindly and helpful. Can't wait for my next visit

This was the first time we'd booked at Ali's, it seats about 30 people and has a really good choice on the menu. Myself and my son booked and had the pickle tray, a starter each and then a curry dish each. We were served by India who was very efficient and prompt as were the other staff when we wanted more beer! All the dishes were really enjoyable and we weren't left waiting between courses. Can thoroughly recommend it and good to see a business doing well, just what the village needs, we'll be back again in the future.

Went with my hubby Saturday evening.We have been before so we new how good it is.We were greeted with a smile and shown to our table.The place is always clean.The service was good and the place has a relaxed atmosphere.Both our currys were very tasty.Very enjoyable meal.We will be back.

This place never just doesn’t fail in my opinion, we have been many times and we have always had an amazing experience, the food is just simply awesome, but what is extra special about Ali’s is the staff, we have just visited on a miserable Wednesday evening to a warm welcome from the ever pleasant Pam and her staff, the staff sincerely care and are very attentive without being obtrusive, big thanks to Kelsey and India who have clearly been very well trained by Pam, once again many thanks and see you all soon.

Booked a table after reading reviews. Definitely not disappointed. Small, clean little restaurant. Staff super attentive and the food delicious. I went away from my usual norm and took a bit of a gamble and probably made a wrong choice for me personally, but even so it was beautiful, well cooked and hot. Fiancé really enjoyed his meal too. Will be returning. Very much recommended.

My husband and I have a takeaway from Ali's indian restaurant in Holton le Clay every week because we enjoy the food so much and sometimes we eat in the restaurant there. This week we went to the sister restaurant , Asha indian restaurant in Louth with some family members and the whole evening was 1st class. The meal was delicious, and the restaurant is So nicely decorated

My husband and I were over in Grimsby visiting family. Thanks to TripAdvisor and it's glowing reviews of Ali's, we decided to take the family and celebrate my birthday there. It was a wonderful evening and the food was delicious. The staff, Pam and Indie were so lovely and so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, I even got a free meal for my actual birthday. The small restaurant is comfortable and very clean. They have a great menu and a fully licensed bar. The chef here also has some signature dishes developed by him. The starter chicken satay was delicious along with the popadoms. The tandoori and chicken and lamb signature dish was wonderful along with all the sides and Na'am bread. Prices are fair and reasonable for this first class establishment. We were even offered complimentary Brandy and Bailey's after the meal. Delivery is free in Holten-le-Clay and only a pound to Scartho. Wish we had Indian food like this in Bellingham, Washington,USA. Highly recommend.

Had a meal here last night for my birthday. From walking in to leaving the staff were excellent very friendly and welcoming. Food is of a very high standard we all ordered different dishes so we could try each other's. Would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant

I had a takeaway from Ali's last night, it's been a while since I've been (trying to get a summer body and all that!) but the food was exceptional as always. I have tried so many of the Indian restaurants in the local area and I can honestly say that now, Ali's is the only one I will order from as it puts all the others to shame! There is so much variety on the menu and every dish is unique and exquisite. Staff are lovely and have a really good knowledge of the menu and are always happy to answer any questions about the dishes. Can't wait for my next order!

All six of us were really happy with our meals and the service. We eat there a lot, very regularly, and in 5 years, have only ever been disappointed once, and that was only because our party was large. The apologies for that one time were heartfelt. Would highly recommend.

Very delicious food, with a wide selection of curry and side dishes to choose from. It's very cramped though, especially when multiple groups of people are seated. You can get take away, which is good.

Visited with a large party of 14 it was a last minute booking, so not an insignificant number to deal with. The meal was brilliant the staff were so hard working and the service was excellent. Won't be using them again. I got a take away from them yesterday. I had a prawn puri starter of which the puri bread was missing and the tiny amount was shocking . Then chicken vindaloo . This had 5 pieces of chicken in it and the rest was made up with potatoes . What a rip off.

10 of us and a baby went to Ali's tonight and what a great time we had. Pam is such a great hostess. She took her time to explain the dishes and made sure we were happy with everything. A real asset to the restaurant. Along with Hannah who also made us all feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

took my sister brother in-law and two other friends here to have a sit down meal i myself had dined here numerous times but it was the first time for these people my sister and her husband commented on how cosy the restaurant was how very polite the staff where and that once they had took your order etc they was not constantly at the table unlike other restaurants they had been to we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and my family and friends were amazed at the size of the portions that they received the quality which they said was outstanding also great value for money they also said that they would be rebooking again within the very near future

Came here for a meal with family as it was a birthday, we got the birthday meal free which was great! The food was delicious and the staff were great at helping us, would highly recommend.

Used to be lovely food, just had a take away, it was awful... Bombay potato’s was plain and hard, chicken curry was six bits of chicken floating about in yellow water. Will not be going back... I do not recommend.
