Usually very good, but this visit was very disappointing. Undercooked rice and over cooked chips. Didn't feel I could complain at time as I had my two small grandchildren (2 and 5) with me and did not want to delay their food ☹️☹️

Many Indian restaurants in Wisbech and surrounding areas ...but Ali Shan is king. Brilliant service and the best curry you can buy... 40 years of experience is obviously on show here. Visited with friends for a meal and was 100% impressed ...so much so went back for a take out tonight and was equally impressed. Superb first class food. and a friendly and personable service... We will return soon

Well, Wisbech gets better and better now for me. A delightful theatre, a delightful cinema, Museum, Gallery and now a lovely Indian restaurant that I have just found and its been there years! Lovely food, courteously and kindly served. My friend and I enjoyed our meal and so it seemed the many other clients that were there. A popular place, full of nice happy people all resonating from the staff. Loved the banter with the owner ? Particularly the story of the wooden trolley. Will definitely be revisiting and feel its a place I could have a meal on my own if friends are not available when I want to go. Thank you.

Nine of us at the sitting , everyone enjoyed their meal . Could not get a taxi , ( at 9 pm on a Thursday night ) so the owner and one of his staff kindly gave us a lift back to our hotel and would not take any payment , he was quite happy with just our gratitude for a kind act ...... outstanding.

VIsitied as a family for a celebration, food as always was excellent, but it was a very rushed experience - with us being done within an hour, it felt a little like fast food! Everything very fresh, and the prawn dishes here are to die for.

Perfect takeaway meal for three. Good tasty food, will most definitely order again. Perfect light pilau rice & curry’s

I ordered my starter when it’s came it had 2 black hairs in it, I told the waitress she took it back and the owner said oh no that’s not hair! There was no denying it even the waitress told him it was obviously hair. I walked out and definitely won’t be returning. The owner is very unprofessional and didn’t even seem shocked there was hair in the food.

These people serve excellent food and are willing to cater for different tastes , never had a fault warm friendly excellent Indian food

Really didn’t enjoy this meal. We had a great lady waitress but the owner couldn’t seem to care less. Literally throwing our curries down for our table of 6 to sort out and pass across to the relevant person who ordered. He couldn’t tell us which nan bread was which and my curry was sauce with about 4 pieces of chicken in. So unimpressed and will never, ever return.

Hadn’t eaten from here in years so ordered a lockdown takeaway as treat. Staff called me about my sons allergies to discuss and advise me. They were very helpful and knowledgable about their dishes. This was a breath of fresh air to me as a parent with anaphylactic child. Food was all ready on arrival to collect. Very organised, slick service. Food tasted fantastic! Good portion size. We will definitely be ordering another takeaway! Questioning why we haven’t before! Highly recommend!

Been to this restaurant numerous times now and all I can say is fantastic food people service and atmosphere very well looked after and for a restaurant isn’t over priced either only the drinks are bit pricey but you get that where ever you go with drinks

Been going here for years & have never been disappointed. The food is excellent & they have a couple of house specials which I’ve never seen elsewhere on my travels - including in India. And the service is first class. Recommended 👍

Lovely food, Great atmosphere, Wisbech always have nice people, it was busy but it’s worth the wait.

Had a takeaway from here and was really rather disappointed and wouldn't recommend or go there again. In particular the onion bahjis were soggy and tough.... a bit like biting into a lump of wet cardboard might feel like! I threw mine away. :(

We had a lovely first visit on a Saturday evening and the food was great, however, our second visit on Thursday a few weeks later was unbelievable. We had the same starters of mixed kebabs which was very nice. My husband ordered a Chicken Jahlfrazi with a Nan and it looked and tasted good. I ordered Lamb Rogan and boiled rice which arrived later than my husbands. When mine arrived I noticed a fowl smell like dog poo, I even checked the soles of my shoes, I then tried my meal and I had to spit out the meat it tasted awful, the sauce was ok so I barely ate anything. No one asked if the meal was ok and they just cleared the left over meal away and the awful fowl smell went too, thats when I realised the meat must of been rotten!!!! When we first tried this Indian we thought we had found a gem, but after this experience we will never return.

Had a pleasant evening with friend. Nice popadoms relish, and lime pickle. Our main courses were good. I had chicken sag. We shared a Peshawar nan bread which was very tasty. Service was good.

takeaway- was told 25mins but was 45mins.. man pushed in front of me in queue and they served him... got food home and it was barely warm and hardly had any flavour?.. husband had a bone in his to top it off... my chicken tasted fatty didnt eat it so dissapointed was ment to be a treat!

My wife placed a takeaway order for 2 currys, some barjees and 2 naan breads. When i went to collect the order, i was ignored by the staff for several minutes. They then served another man before me even though I was clearly there waiting. I explained that I was there first and they still proceeded to take his order & payment first, not a great start! If you're claustrophobic I would also avoid as the tiny waiting room makes you feel like a caged hen.After finally getting home with the food (the order was 10 minutes later than the time given on the phone), it was luke warm, and barely had any flavour. To top it all off, my wifes chicken was fatty and there was a large bone in my chicken which nearly broke my tooth!Safe to say I will not be going back.

It was our first visit to this Indian after our regular place in KIngs Lynn had consistently been disappointing us. The starters mains and side dishes were absolutely excellent all very authentic and not from a bought in Jar of sauce! However upon leaving we said goodnight to the two members of staff at the bar area and we were completely ignored!! It put us right of going back with such poor manners, they were both pre occupied in counting out the money! The only person who deserves credit for her hard work and great smile is the young foreign (polish?) girl and sets a good example to the others

Having been a regular at Ali’s for almost 30 years our last visit was disappointing.

Have been going to this place for a number of years and the food is always good, excellent value for money and friendly staff. Much needed in Wisbech.

The Ali Shan was recommended by Jim at The Orchard Tearooms. It was not disappointing at all. A lovely freshly cooked meal, very good ingredients well presented with the freshest paswari nann I have had! Well worth a visit of you are in the area, and the midweek banquet is excellent value for money.

We always come here for our take-away or sit in meal for special occasions. It is always very tasty the staff are very friendly and will adjust dishes to taste, have the tikka masala with a bit more spice. It can get very busy on the banquet nights so it is always good to book In advance.

We decided to give the Ali Shan a try as it was recommended to us. The first impression of the building was that it might be a bit basic, but, no it was quite nice and clean.

Ok last minute decision, and we weren’t far away so we thought we would give the place try. It was a Saturday night but we didn’t have to wait to long. The food was what you would expect for a mid price Indian restaurant however the onion bargees had been in the deep fat fryer too many times and were revolting just tasting of oil. They removed them from the bill with no argument saving embarrassment all round. Yes we might go back but won’t be ordering the onion bargees

When our dishes came out you could smell and taste the quality. The Madras I had was hot in spice and not on the tongue. Outstanding.

I ordered a take away meal for 3, when I got home we only had 2 main meals, I phoned and complained ,i live 25 minutes away from the restaurant ,I had been over charged by £10 approx, I was offered my money back or £20 off my next order or a meal for 2 of the menu. I chose the meal for 2.

The service was brilliant and the place has a nice atmosphere. The food was very very good. My prawn byriani was really tasty and it was loaded with prawns. My son had the chicken naga. He said it was lovely and was as hot as he could stand, and he does like a very hot curry. The ladies enjoyed their meals and we all got from the table having had a really lovely meal. We were all so full we forgo the dessert. Well worth a visit when in Wisbech.

Went to Ali Shan following a recommendation. And wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is clean, the staff are friendly, and the food plentiful and delicious. Large portions for the person with bigger appetites. I cannot complain, will I go back. Dam right tomorrow night.

I've been going to the Ali Shan and using it as a Take Away for 3 years. (Only just started using Trip Advisor). Whether you Eat In or Take away, the food is always lovely and really tasty. Especially their own Specials. I love the Balti and the Tandoori meals personally. My partner, she loves the Pollock Masala!

Mientras en Wisbech visitamos Ali Shan por primera vez. Tuvimos que esperar para una mesa a pesar de que llegamos a la hora reservada. Orden tomado bastante rápidamente, pero creo que tampoco daba u olvidado como gente que viene después de nosotros eran todos sirviendo.

Un grupo de nosotros desde la Casa Pública de greyhound, Puente sutton fuimos para una comida en Alishan. Algunos del grupo habían sido antes, pero era la primera vez que, desde el momento en que llegamos, el personal era muy cortés y servicial, atendiendo a todas las necesidades de nuestra comida y bebida, todos disfrutamos de los banquetes miércoles por la noche. Hay un montón de opciones y cocinado a la perfección. Volveré a visitar muy pronto.

I have been going to Alishan since late 1997. The cook/cooks are never shy to cook as traditional as they could to produce some of the Best tasting Indian cuisine in this area. My children grew up eating his food, and they still love it now. If your children are adventures eaters, they might love it too. If you are ever in the flatest land in UK, The Fens, and you are a fan of Indian food, then make the effort to swing by Alishan's, take my word for it you won't regret it. We love his Dahl dishes, Tarka Dahl in particular is spicy, Sizzling King Prawn Tandoori are delicious, his Chicken Jalfrezi is a delight. Of course his various rice dishes, as well his Tandoori oven nana bread...etc. Midium hot/heat is plenty at Ali's, hot is too hot, very hot is leathal, and Vindalloo level heat is unbearably hot and will blow your head off, if you can handle heat, then all is well. Prices are responsible compare to others in it's class. Be prepared to wait if you go without booking, especially on weekends. This restaurant accepts telephone orders but you will have to pick up. Generous size portions, clean and polite smily service. Now, every time I revisit this area, I have made it a habit to go and get a taste of his food. Thank you for maintaining your standards.

You are welcomed by friendly staff who are keen to make your visit an enjoyable one. The food is really good and you can sit in or take away. The restaurant is nicely appointed and you can enjoy a booth or sit in the open restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and the menu extensive. I haven't had a bad experience here and I have been lots of time. I can fully recommend it.

A lovely night at Ali Shans. This is one of the best Indians in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed the banquet night!The food came relatively quickly, was hot and flavoursome! We weren't hassled for drinks or made to feel as though we needed to rush our food for their second sitting. I had Chicken Chat Purée, which was missing it's salad garnish, but tasted quite nice.Main course was a Chicken Ceylon, mixed rice, vegetable curry and pashwari naan. The only slight criticism I could have is the rice could have been hotter. Other than that I enjoyed my main course.Would certainly go back without hesitation

We have visited this restaurant many times with friends in the last two years and have always been impressed with both service and quality. On this occasion we visited as a twosome and were shocked to find that this seemed to make a difference in the usually excellent level of service. We were sat on a small wonky table resting against a hot radiator and staring at the electricity box. In very close proximity were two other couples. When we arrived at 6.30pm we were the only six people in the restaurant. It took 15 minutes for a drinks order to be taken and 30 minutes for our food order to be taken. Our waiter couldn't have looked more miserable and seemed to just potter around not really making an impact. The other staff seemed to be more interested in taking the endless phone orders on two phones on the bar. We were not offered popadoms which are always usually offered immediately, we had to ask. No one asked us if we wanted more drinks despite our glasses being obviously empty. Our food took a long time to arrive, both courses. Other larger tables that arrived after us were given the most attention and were obviously the priority as I noticed that our three tables of two were left to our own devices in the corner. One large group had two lots of popadoms and starters before our order was even taken. Having said that, the restaurant was still not, in my opinion, busy. We considered leaving after the starter and will probably never return. This is a real shame as we have always enjoyed visiting this restaurant, I don't know why the service has suddenly taken a nose dive however, I see I am not the only one making this observation. Even the food this time was mediocre. Unsurprisingly, when we asked for the bill arrived in a split second. Sort it out Ali Shan, you are losing regular customers.

Great food, always fresh. Friendly service, attentive and great value for money. Would recommend if you are looking for a good curry house.

Having looked at the reviews for this restaurant and having spent a lovely day at Elgoods brewery we thought we would enjoy an Indian meal at the end of the day. We were seated at our table at 7.10. The restaurant was quite busy but there was still plenty of space. It was a night for their banquet meal, great we thought as we settled down. We ordered our drinks and they came quite promptly. 10 minutes later we ordered our meal and then we waited... and waited... No poppadoms arrived - we weren't asked if we would like some. We waited patiently... Our starter came at 8.10. Tasted ok BUT the sauce that accompanied came in a large gravy boat that had sat on a trolley at the side of the bar and that was continually going backwards and forwards to other customers with the same spoon and just being topped up from a plastic jar! (Health alert!!!!) Then we waited again... patiently we waited... At 8.40 we were on the verge of walking out. Then we got the hot plates! I asked why there was such a wait for our meal. The waiter gestured to the restaurant - we are busy he mumbled and left. 8.50 our meal came. We had gone beyond having an appetite. The food was bearable - nothing like the reviews we had read. We ate very little and got up to pay. We asked the 'manager' about the service. He did not apologise in any way, he questioned what we were saying - he just wasn't interested in the appalling service we had received. We are not the type of people who cause a fuss - we just wanted a quiet meal but more importantly we do expect a good standard of service. Alishan gave very poor service. Alishan served mediocre food. They really should be ashamed. We were visitors to the area and will never go back to this restaurant. We feel sorry that the residents of Wisbech do!

Such a wonderful experience! Visited late due to arriving for a work commitment the next day. Staying around the corner & was signposted to go here and cater for vegetarians.This is one of the best vege currys I've ever had!Fantastic service!Will return just to go for another curry :)

Have been visiting this restaurant for years (too many to admit to) & it still remains a favourite. Food is always excellent & the service good too. Visited on banquet night the other week & it was even better value!!

Fantastic choice of Curries... Attentive Staff... A bit quiet other than that good atmosphere! Tikka Masala and pilau rice is a favourite and everyone at the table enjoyed what they had! Will be going again without a doubt also do take aways!

The owner Ali is so welcoming. The food is fantastic. Good price The food has all fresh ingredients. No colouring or sugars We have never had a bad meal. A lot of resteraurants should take a leaf out of Alis book. On how to look after regular customers !!!!Julie & Richard.

The food was excellent much more than we could eat it was lovely and hot and nothing was too much trouble for the staff what ever you asked for.

We have been here twice now - the first time I wasn't overly impressed but husband liked it ( with the help of a few drinks) so we decided to give it another try . The poppadums and pickles were fine . I skipped the starter and ordered the prawn Dhansak. Now I have eaten a fair few Dhansak in my time but never one that tasted quite like this . It had been the same on the previous occasion but being with a group of friends you tend to skip over things. Firstly it was spot the lentil - it didn't appear to have any and the taste was just weird . A mixture of lemongrass and uncle bens curry sauce. I didn't eat it just picked the prawns out . The Bombay Aloo was dry and again tasted of lemon and the nan bread was so dry it was like eating a Jacobs cream cracker. The waiter removed nearly as much food from our table as he had served but never once asked if everything was OK . I couldn't be bothered to say anything as we won't be coming back .

This is generally a good Indian. The food is consistently good. the building is air conditioned. The decor and layout is nice. But unfortunately it is always rushed. Our starter is served whilst eating our popadoms. Our main course is served whilst eating our starters. It's such a shame as its all good otherwise.

Fantastic food ,but the waiters need training when serving food.Delivering food to the table with fingers in the food,even saw the nan bread picked up with hands off a dish and handed to people.Waiters surly. Even when paying the bill,not a smile or thanks,this was the first and will be the last time, pity.

Visited Ali's yesterday evening after a particularly trying day. No reservation but we were made welcome as always. Food was good and plentiful. We all felt much happier for a good meal in pleasant surroundings. Very good value for money.

Long wait to order , staff didn't seem interested in taking drinks or food orders , we had to keep asking for drinks . Menu small choice . Don't even give you poppadoms or chutneys !!! Which is standard in every other Indian restaurant I have visited . Very cold throughout the meal we where seated in the middle of the small restaurant under the freezing cold air con . Which also made our food go quickly cold.Buffet is cheap £11.50 but small portions . Enjoyed the starter but that was it. Main was chicken korma and tasteless as was the mushroom rice which was squished into the plate where it had been stacked with everyone else's rice . The onion Bahjee greasy and the naan chucked to me with no side plate so had to put it on table cloth . Not offered desserts / coffee. Toilets grubby and up a big flight of stairs. Not friendly . No idea why people rave about it . Will not be returning .

Apart from having to wait to get a table when the restaurant was nearly empty, overall it was a reasonable experience. The food was presented interestingly, and had a reasonable modicum of taste. The staff seemed to spend too much time in the bar area, totalling bills for take-outs, but otherwise not too bad, and popular.

Alishans has been a favourite of nearly everyone I know for many years. The food is always delicious and to a high standard. The only reason I haven't given Alishans a 5 star is because sometimes when it is busy we have waited nearly 30 minutes for starters and then obviously a similar wait for mains. Do not let this put anyone off as the food is very good.

I went to a works leaving do and we all had the buffet, The buffet has a good choice of starter,main,side,rice and naan for £11.95. portion sizes are good and the food is good.Will worth a visit.

Ali Shan is a typical Indian restaurant. It's food is good without being great. It's prices are fine especially on banquet nights. On these nights you have a set price and choose nearly what you like. Excellent value.Wines are average, service is friendly. All in all a good night at an affordable price.

If you want friendly, attentive service then go for some Americana inspired restaurant. If you want good food from an expansive menu, then Ali Shan is highly recommended.Staff are not the most approachable but I don't go to a curry house to chat with the staff when they are unloading a good trolley. Frankly I'd be too busy getting stuck into a Nan while the food is passed around.I thought I didn't like Indian food. Seems I had never experience good Indian Food.

The food here is nice, it if a reasonable price, we visited for a friends birthday as a table of ten, we all got our food correct and all meals arrived at the same time, I enjoyed the food, however many friends told me how great it was so when the food was nice but just average I felt a little let down. However I would happily visit again

I am a regular at this restaurant but, owing to serious illness, I had not visited it for several months. I am pleased to say that the standard of food is still outstanding and service is always friendly. With regard to a lengthy negative review that was written in July 2015, all I can say is that I would NOT patronise any restaurant that has dogs present, guide or otherwise. Good decision by the proprietors.

Having been here a few times I have never reviewed it. This is a lovely place to come and have a good curry. Ali was here when I came one night and he really looked after us all. Great choice of starters which came hot and quickly. Something for every taste. Then quickly onto the main meals, curry, rice and nan bread all of good quality and hot, not like some places I have eaten in. Great service all night, despite being busy. Drinks were flowing and they kept checking everything was OK. Great meal had and for a good price compared to major chains.

From the minute we walked in we felt welcomed and relaxed. This is a very comfortable restaurant with delicious fresh tasting food,served very professionally and good value for money.

I booked this restaurant based on other reviews and found the food was good - nothing outstanding - certainly not fine dining, but very tasty. The portions were larger than we required but would certainly suit someone with a large appetite. I would have liked to have been taken to my table by the waiter, but he just pointed and sent us to the table. It's little things like that that give a place a good reputation. Would I go there again? Probably not as we don't eat out very often and we like to try other places. But if there were only a handful to choose from then I would go back.

Popular restaurant, has the reputation of being the best in town. Comfortable and clean with great staff. The food is well prepared and served, is could be considered a little expensive but its worth it. The takeaway menu is extensive and popular.

We went in tonight new to the area and looking for a nice Indian, the premises are clean ,smart and comfortable but we found the food delicately flavoured or was it bland either way a little disappointing ,reasonable but nothing special. Service was average which sort of summed up the whole experience our quest for a special Indian continues

The Ali Shan doesn't look much from the outside but don't be put off, the food is outstanding and the service is very friendly. I recommend the lamb dhansak!

I have visited this restaurant for the past 15 years and can say its a diamond in the rough. The food is always fresh, the staff helpful and friendly, I also absolutely love the Pallok Tikka Massala. I've always found the food to be at a consistent high standard, i've noticed with other Indian Restaurants in the area that sometimes I can have a subpar meal here and there, but I have never had this problem at the Alishan. I look forward to my next visit :)

After a meeting or on returning from a journey,I turn to Alishan for the comfort of a warm welcome and delicious food. Not only on these occasions but whenever I will visit my local 'bistro' which is so much more than just an eating experience, to chat with the staff and put the world to rights. All this after more than thirty-five years! Wisbech would be the poorer without Ali's

We have been using this restaurant and its forerunner, the Shapla, which had the same proprietors, on a regular basis for over thirty years, during which time we have come to know the owners extremely well. The food is always excellent, and all of the staff are extremely friendly.I find it extremely difficult to accept the comments of Santosh G with regard to his girlfriend's guide dog; I am sure there must have been some other reason for him being denied service as the owners would never prevent anyone's entry for such a reason; Santosh G is totally wrong to make the assumption that he has, and I feel sure that he must know that.

Having had many splendid meals at this establishment in the past (and spent hundreds of pounds in the process), I was utterly horrified this evening when my totally blind girlfriend and I were refused service by the Management because of her guide dog. Our efforts to point out that they were breaking the Law (Equality Act 2010) notwithstanding, the proprietor point blank refused to read the official ADUK documentation which we provided, choosing, instead, to quote the well-worn phrase 'I don't have to give a reason'. That being true, the legislation is intended, not to allow licencees carte blanche in discriminating against people with a disability (clearly the case here) or because of race, gender, religion, etc., but to permit them to refuse service to anyone likely to behave inappropriately, which was not the case here. Further, their withdrawal of our reservation, made yesterday evening, as soon as I informed them that a guide dog would be there, did, in fact, constitute a reason, even though the Manager refused to state it publicly this evening. We called the Police, and whilst they could not act against them according to Criminal Law by compelling them to serve us, they did advise us to pursue a civil action against them. This is precisely what we intend to do, as well as contacting our local MP and the press. The Management of this establishment has no idea what has begun here this evening!

Me and my brother decided to just pop in for a curry after meeting up(so we were in jeans and T-shirt). Was greeted at the door and escorted to a table drinks and menus offered. Excellent service a little quiet in there but was 630 so still early. The food was really great not all spice and no flavour like many curries. Will definitely be back thanks for a great evening.

Food is fine but lack of atmosphere seat people too close to other diners and tend to feel rushed. Not a relaxing meal.

Had some friends visiting who wanted a curry and this had been recommended by several people so my first visit was full of anticipation - it was fabulous, the food, the service and the atmosphere exceeded all my expectations.I will definitely become a regular - my one very small niggle is that they do not deliver but a very minor point

The restaurant was busy, surprising for a Thursday, but I guess that is a recommendation in itself. We were seated quickly, drinks served quickly, food ordered and brought to the table in good time. Good efficient service! And what's more, the food was lovely and, being hungry, it didn't take me long to finish it off

This place is cracking if you want a curry. I took my girl a few weekends ago as I couldn't be bothered to cook on a Saturday night. It's just like McDonald's and KFC, always the same and always good. I had the mixed tandoori starter and the tikka after. Very nice and all very tasty. Came here on a Friday evening with a group of friends. The place was very busy but there were no problems with the service. The portion sizes were good and the food was tasty. We would come again if we were in the area. Food and drinks were both reasonably priced.

From the moment you walk in you feel special and you are certainly well looked after. Food good and sensible prices. For take-away it is excellent, get so much for your money and of good quality.

Visited on a very busy Thursday night. But this made no difference. The service was brilliant, and prompt and the staff were very attentive. The meal was superb. Our currys were hot, tasty and the dishes with the currys were equally as good. A good place to visit when in Wisbech. The décor is pleasant but needs a little make over as it looks slightly tired

I've been to Ali's many times and had good meals and good times there. But tonight was the worst experience ever, and I'll never go back again.The place was packed and there was a group of rowdy drunk people in the middle of the restaurant. So rowdy we couldn't hear ourselves talk over the swearing, racist remarks and shouting coming from their table.After sitting down our starter arrived 40 mins later, 30 mins later the mains arrived. By the time we'd sat down and left, 2hrs had passed.In those 2hrs we, and the rest of the place had to endure the relentless swearing and loudness of the drunken crowd sitting in the middle of the room.Now Ali and the rest of his staff really shone as they did not once try and calm the crowd but continue to let it carry on and ruin the experience for everyone else. This just proves all they care is about the money coming into the place, they are spineless and don't care about anyone else.If this was a decent restaurant they would've asked them to keep it down. But not Ali, he wants the money, so who cares about everyone else?I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If you want a decent Indian restaurant, then go further afield. This one has a toilet that is on par with the one in Trainspotting, this probably goes in line with the suspicious 4* rating for hygiene.

Actually is a couple of weeks ago now, but when we did have a meal from Ali Shan we did order our Usual items ( lamb dhansak / chicken jalfrezi / taka dhaal / pappadoms / rice ) and all was absolutely delicious and a very good price too!

I have been to Ali Shan restaurant many times over the years in groups and as a couple and had great experiences but haven't been for a while until tonight. What a deterioration in all aspects, slow impersonal service, stained tablecloth, no offer of poppadoms on arrival, cold food, no sizzle plate with the shish kebab which was served from the bottom of the trolley of another tables order and without salad, stodgy cold paratha. The polak chicken was very good but cold.The toilets were horrid and need a complete refurbish. Whilst we were waiting (for over an hour) another group walked out. I wish we had too.

We visit this restaurant regularly for both takeaway and restaurant meals. The staff are friendly and welcoming with fantastic service and good food, what more can you say!

I always come to the Ali Shan when I'm in Wisbech- service and food is 5*. I had the chicken and mushroom balti which comes with a naan bread but i've tried lots of their dishes and they are great.The only negative I would have is that the only seafood dishes are prawn and it would be nice if they offered a special so that you could try something a bit different.Love this place can definitely recommend.

If I want an Indian I always go there but tonight I went with friends we felt like we we're rushed from the time we arrived to the time we left I have never felt so uncomfortable anywhere

I have used this restaurant for the past ten years. As and when I am working in the area I normally visit. It is good value. With a banquet night on both Wednesdays and Thursdays. The food has always been good. The service also good. The only annoying thing is. It feels like I am always "rushed" the starter arrives before the popadom is finished. And so on. Other than that it is hard to fault. And I recommend it for a nice curry

Excellent customer service, staff with pleasant personalities. Ali a humble person who values all his customers, great delicious food. U can never go wrong, clean place and caring staff. Long live Alishan, praying for the almighty to grant you peace at all times.

This is a very good restaurant but I normally get take away of curry, the curry is very tasty and well cooked. Harry

i have eaten in their twice and both times the food was good. however i was put off when a friend of mine who works in environmental health looked up their food hygiene rating and apparently they only scored a 1. apparently its very easy to score a 5 so i wont be going back due to that information which is sad because as i said, it was very nice.

The service is nice and the food is quite good witha reasonable price.The atmosphere is not very fancy. It would be goodto think about a change in the decoration.

Had a meal here during a one night stay in Wisbech. An excellent choice. Simply one of the best Indian meals I've had. Chicken Tikka Rezzalla was in a lovely spicy sauce full of large pieces of fresh chicken tikka, onions and peppers. Takka dhal was a lovely consistency. Moderately priced. Nice clean authentic setting with tablecloths. Good service from pleasant and polite staff. If you are looking for a decent Indian meal in Wisbech, this is the place.

Was there last week with my partner, my cousin and her husband and we had a wonderful meal. Best Indian Restaurant we have ever been to.

I have tried all the local Indian restuarants and this is by far the best. The service is very good, the food fantastic, always taste freshly cooked. Nothing is too much trouble. There is no need to try elsewhere, this is the best.

Ate as a couple, this is a consistently good restaurant, the food is good and service excellent. If you are looking for an Indian meal in Wisbech, this is the one to go to.
