Algar Lodge Cafe in Dover

Wow! Loved it here. I had the full English breakfast and it was all good quality ingredients and cooked just right. Bread for the toast was lovely and chunky. Staff were excellent. The strawberry smoothie was amazing too. The farm shop is also amazing. I was in wonderland and could have bought everything in there. Will absolutely be coming back again.

Lovely breakfasts! Staff are all wonderful and professional. The food is fantastic. All produce is local and fresh. The shop has some lovely little bits too, would highly recommend a visit 🙂

Went here with my wife for brunch. Was recommended by a friend and I’m glad I went on their recommendation. It’s not the cheapest place but you definitely pay for what you get. It’s all high quality local produce. The food was really really tasty. I only had something little, but it was really good and filling. After the food we went into the farm shop. I could’ve spent a fortune in here. The cakes looked amazing and we picked one for our daughter (which we helped with 😁) and there were some absolutely stunning looking sausage rolls which I’m going to have to go back and purchase! There is plenty of parking outside and I am looking forward to going back for another visit.

The owner is extremely rude and very abrupt. The way she treats her staff in front of customers is very disrespectful. Aswell as raising her voice at customers. Not a friendly place at all. Absolutely disgusting, I won’t be returning!

The full English and coffee was perfect from the cafe. You could tell it’s all made fresh from the farm shop as you would expect. Good portion and decently priced. Had to wait a little to get a table but they took our name and we walked around the farm shop whilst we waited so it wasn’t bad. The food in the farm shop is incredible with lots of lovely options.

Not the first time we’ve been for a breakfast. It’s always first class, tasty and freshly prepared. Staff are pleasant, friendly and informative. I am coeliac and they are right on it with what is and isn’t gluten free. Had a very tasty Algar breakfast which is ample. Superb. Thank you.

Visited twice this week for brunch Had the algar breakfast on both occasions and each time it was fabulous. The staff are so kind and friendly ( gave the dogs a sausage to share 😀) As for the cakes in the deli what can I say bloody marvellous. Only wished we lived here and not just visiting on holiday in sandwich.

...I have been here many times & always have their .Welsh Rarebit...because it is so delicious...but today...I was so disappointed...they had changed it & put their own twist on it which I didn't realise until it came to my table...it had a layer of Caramelised Onion on the Sourdough...then the Cheese mix on the top...it was so overpowering...I couldn't taste the traditional..Cheese..Mustard..Ale ... won't be ordering it again until they change it back to the traditional..Welsh Rarebit...why do people change things...😩

Went there for lunch, what a lovely surprise. Very healthy portions, lovely food caters for Gluten Free. Highly recommend

Have been for breakfast before and know to get there early for a table as it has become a busy place to eat. We had a Lodge breakfast which is plenty big enough. I have gluten free option which is excellent. Same as the normal version, nothing missing which always annoys me at some establishments. Great thick white GF bread too, to mop up those beans! The service is spot on, lovely bunch of pleasant ladies and a fresh breakfast was delivered prompt. I’m sure it gets slower for some as it wasn’t long before I heard them saying to new arrivals that a table would be 30 minutes wait to be seated. It is that popular. Well priced and the quality of the quality of the produce is top notch. Once again Algar a very enjoyable Sunday FEB (Full English Breakfast) and we will return again and try your lunch menu. Thanks.

Absolutely amazing ! Food from both the cafe and farm shop is fantastic and great quality this is a farm shop done right ! so much to choose from ,quality fresh produce ,baked goods,healthy snacks and meals to choose from. They also change it up very often so you won't get bored ,staff are absolutely amazing all happy to help with anything , you haven't been to a propper farm shop if you haven't been here recommend 1000%
