Algar Lodge Cafe in Dover

Have been for breakfast before and know to get there early for a table as it has become a busy place to eat. We had a Lodge breakfast which is plenty big enough. I have gluten free option which is excellent. Same as the normal version, nothing missing which always annoys me at some establishments. Great thick white GF bread too, to mop up those beans! The service is spot on, lovely bunch of pleasant ladies and a fresh breakfast was delivered prompt. I’m sure it gets slower for some as it wasn’t long before I heard them saying to new arrivals that a table would be 30 minutes wait to be seated. It is that popular. Well priced and the quality of the quality of the produce is top notch. Once again Algar a very enjoyable Sunday FEB (Full English Breakfast) and we will return again and try your lunch menu. Thanks.

Absolutely amazing ! Food from both the cafe and farm shop is fantastic and great quality this is a farm shop done right ! so much to choose from ,quality fresh produce ,baked goods,healthy snacks and meals to choose from. They also change it up very often so you won't get bored ,staff are absolutely amazing all happy to help with anything , you haven't been to a propper farm shop if you haven't been here recommend 1000%

This was a first visit, saved to mark an anniversary, based on all the glowing reviews. The menu has plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Service was attentive, the food attractively presented on the plate and utterly delicious.

I’d heard great things about the food here, both at the cafe and within the farm shop. It didn’t disappoint! I came with some friends and ordered the signature burger and Oreo milkshake. Upon arriving it was busy, which is always a good sign, friendly helpful staff and plenty of tables both inside and outside on the green. The burger was delicious and was a very generous portion, with chunky chips and coleslaw. Treated myself to a cake at the deli counter, it was hard to choose from the plentiful selection. Very tasty, great atmosphere and look forward to visiting again.

Came here for my daughters Birthday for some lunch/breakfast. On arrival was very pleased to be told they serve breakfast all day. The cafe was so busy, clearly a big hit. My daughter had the pancakes they were amazing according to her and a huge portion. I had the halloumi dish, the serving was so generous and so tasty. The best halloumi I have EVER tasted. My son had the full English, he managed to eat it all, there was a lot and my husband the eggs Benedict on amazingly thick sour dour, he thought it was divine. The food is so fresh and so well cooked and presented. The prices are high but you really do get what you pay for so well worth it. The coffee was spot on aswell. The staff were all friendly. We have found a new place to come and I am almost loathed to recommend it incase it gets too busy we can’t get a table 🤭.
