Alfresco in Scarborough

Popped in here for lunch on Saturday 27-08-22. So impressed. Good quality ingredients, reasonably priced. Home made pies,quiche. So good went back half an hour later and purchased takeaway salad for tea as well!!! Service and staff first rate.

Lovely place, have become a regular for friends, family and the people I work with. Lovely couple that have a bit of a chat whilst serving. Food is great!!!

Myself and my partner had the bacon and brie and cranberry ciabbatta ,they were excellent would recommend trying there takeaway menu .very competitive prices and friendly service

On a very pleasant sunny afternoon my wife and I had just walked across Scarborough South Bay from Holbeck Hill and were looking for somewhere to eat lunch. We stopped outside Alfresco and were pleasantly surprised by the varied menu and array of good food on offer. We ordered two ciabatta sandwiches, crisps and a portion of Rocky Road which we thought very reasonably priced at £8.80 and walked across the road into Peaseholme Park. We found a sunlit bench and enjoyed a lovely picnic. Generous fillings, lovely well cooked food, it is a long time since we had sandwiches that good. That was Wednesday, 4 November, the day before lock down began. We shall live off that memory during the weeks to come and hope that the business survives. We certainly will be back for more of that fine fayre.

Absolutely fab choice of fresh sandwiches, pizza breads, quiches, homemade pies, cakes etc. You really can taste the difference with the food, I’ve just had a fab prawn sandwich and home made steak pie- stunning! Will be coming back again and again 💪💪

Just discovered this little gem on re opening after lockdown. Beautiful sandwiches, BLT panini,was gorgeous. Breakfast baps lovely. Home cooked quiches, pies, lasagne, fresh salad, tempting cakes. All served with a smile and careful social distance. Thankyou, Coras, Scarborough

Great choice of sandwiches on various breads, quiche & other savories, plus delicious cakes. Prices extremely reasonable & service always friendly & efficient. I highly recommend it.

We’ve been here on previous visits to stock up on lunch for a day at the cricket and decided to revisit. This is a super family run establishment that offers a wide variety of freshly made sandwiches plus cakes and salads. Service is friendly which never goes amiss. There’s always a queue but it’s definitely worth a little wait. It’s all good quality and reasonably priced, we’ll definitely be back again next year

On a return visit to Scarborough we found Alfresco. We ordered homemade quiche and salad chosen from an array of things on offer - it was lovely and only £3.75. Alfresco is definately on our list for a return visit - a little diamond!

Just visiting Scarborough for the day and we come out of the park to find this place. Took me back to the old school kind of cafes my nanna used to take me when I was a kid! Lovely food that I really enjoyed! Just had a roll, kids liked there rolls and my partner had a hot ciabatta and said it was lovely! Cheap and cheerful and very busy so obviously good! I wound highly recommend for fuss free food!

We got our lunch from there and took it back to the Scarborough Cricket ground (Yorkshire were playing).

Great place to get either a sandwich or a fresh salad, I did both during my 4 days in Scarborough and was not disappointed. A large salad with meat on it was only £3.25. And they have all the extras you could ask for...

What a great value little cafe this is! We have just returned from Scarborough after a 10 night stay and this is the best cafe we visited by far. The salads are fab, the lasagne to die for, but the waffle with cream, stawberries and nutella is amazing. Wow!! The staff are very friendly and prices are great value. There is a seating area outside and the cafe is situated just outside Peasholm Park. 5 out of 5.

Alongside the top of peasholm park away from the crowds this alfresco cafe is a must. We had freshly made sandwiches with all the ingredients in the cabinet for you to choose from. Great prices for hot and cold sandwiches. Lovely homemade cakes too. We will definitely be back !!! Thank you.

This shop was the find of our holiday, good food at very reasonable prices no wonder there’s always a queue out of the door at lunchtime ❤️

On the way to the cricket ground popped into the shop for either a large salad or a sandwich, fresh produce and well made and very reasonably priced, also great desserts if you want one as well as drinks and drips and savouries. Great place to get you takeaway lunch, staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back again next month....

We visit this establishment every time we come to Scarbados for the cricket. This is a brilliant family run establishment that offers quality food at reasonable prices. Highly recommend

We wanted somewhere near the ground for a lunchtime sandwich. We'd been here before and, again, were very pleased. There is a wide range of fillings with the sandwiches being freshly made to order. Service is pleasant as well.....which goes a long way in this day and age

We have often visited Alfresco's ( the proprietor is fondly known as Al) and there is a very wide choice of sandwiches which are made fresh in front of your eyes. Al and his family are always helpful, pleasant and polite. John Hardy, Halifax

Visited Alfresco last week, after visiting scarborough numerous times, we have never found this little gem of a cafe before! I can honestly say, the waffle with proper cream, strawberries and tones of nutella for 2.50 is the best i've ever had and SO reasonably priced!!! The sausage roll was delicious too and mum and dad had a lovely cup of tea! Will definitely becoming back on our next visit, had a lovely chat with the owners too :) 10/10

Saw this place as we were walking to Peasholm Park as it’s just opposite the Columbus Ravine entrance. As I’d been fancying a proper green salad, it seemed a good place to stop. Wow. Just wow! For under £10 we got two large salad boxes, one with meat, a quiche, and two sodas. Absolutely the best option so far in our week of seaside holidaying, so much so that we are popping by there in the morning, on our way out of town, to get another lunch parcel to take for our picnic as we make our way south. With cobs starting at under £2 and hot meals under £4, why would you have a supermarket sandwich or “salad”?

We just popped in to Alfresco for lunch after a walk at Peasholm Park. We wanted something light and healthier than fish and chips so decided to give it a try. Really glad we did as the staff are lovely, the food was very reasonably priced and all homemade. The salad selection is fantastic! Will definitely call in again when that side of town!

Hard to find the words for this unassuming cafe at the entrance to Peasholme Park. The food is excellent, as is the service. Thoroughly recommend the salad. First class. Thank you.

What a fabulous way to start the day- waffles for breakfast, then a morning swim in the sea. Give it a try. It’s the best place in town.

Probably the best value cafe in Scarborough. We only visited once but the meals were perfect and the desserts out of this world. The only downside is that it is alfresco, not a problem when the weather is fine but a nuisance otherwise.

Spoilt for choice , great menu , good value, alll lovely & fresh.The best Bakewell ever!, and the Rocky Road is fab too, nice friendly staff , see you again soon !

Visited for lunch with my family. All four of us fed with sandwiches, veg lasagne and chilli. Also had drinks and lovely cakes. Cost under twenty pounds. Really tasty and nice owners.

Excellent sandwich bar / deli there's something for everyone here. We were at the cricket and someone recommended this establishment to us. We visited on three separate days and to me the cheese & tomato quiche was the star but saying that everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Look forward to visiting next time we're at the cricket

I was staying just up from here so popped in on the way to the cricket. They have an excellent selection of freshly prepared hot and cold sandwiches plus the usually ancillaries, e.g. sausage rolls, pork pies, sweet snacks. It’s a 5 minute walk from the cricket ground so ideal for stocking up for the day

Wonderful place, great choice of food, very reasonable prices and the quality is superb. I've paid twice as much elsewhere and the foods been nowhere near as good. Staff can't do enough for you, and the bacon, brie and cranberry ciabatta was the best I've ever had. We will definitely be back next time we're in Scarborough.My wife had a boxed salad, and that was equally as good she told me.Proper cups for the tea , nice cakes and some tables to sit outside and watch the world go by sat in the sunshine. Try it, you will not find a better value for money in Scarborough

Me and my family whilst on holiday visited Alfresco’s sandwich shop. There were Options for the whole family from sandwich’s to home cooked meals at a very reasonable price. (especially the curry and chilli) Excellent customer service and a very friendly atmosphere. I will defiantly be back to visit.

If you're in the North Bay area, and especially if you are near Peasholm Park, then this is the place to come to get something for lunch. Sandwich baps, baked potatoes, hot baguettes or ciabattas, salads and other hot meals all freshly made to order from a great choice of fillings.Also have a range of homemade cakes and biscuits and hot or cold drinks.Alfresco is open 8am to 4pm so you could treat yourself to breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. There are small number of outside tables where you can watch the world to by while you eat or takeaway to eat in the Park or beach.Even got our sandwiches for the train home from here.Everything tasty and good value and service is friendly and efficient.Now that we've found this Sandwich Bar we would always come hear.

We use this sandwich bar regularly and it never fails to give good service, good value and a good feeling! All the ingredients are super fresh and the bread is varied and lovely. Lots more on offer - pies, quiche, salad boxes etc. Even home baked cake. Cannot fault this lovely little shop or its very helpful owners.

Freshly baked rolls, perfect for a day on the beach or at the cricket (my choice), with a range of fresh ingredients at a great price - £2.10 for a large cheese salad roll struck me as excellent value. Very clean, and very friendly serviceA range of other bakery products and all located very handily for North Bay and North Marine Road, and Peasholm Park.
