This cafe is dirty. Bizarrely, it seems all items are hand washed behind the counter - stacks of dirty washing do pile up. The young staff are not trained, and do not wipe tables or sweep up. The menu is small and basic, and very overpriced.

We popped in for drinks. They were fine and came quickly-enough. The cakes on offer looked good. The ambience they have built is pleasant and functional. But the cake does not sell itself from outside - indeed it is not very obvious that it is a cafe

Friendly prompt service, super clean, lovely tea room in a cute heritage high street. We came for brunch - ordered a full English & Eggs Royale. Both were delicious and served in really cute crockery. Coffees were hot and strong just as we like it. Highly recommended! Easy parking just round the corner in Abbey Fields.

This place was the best in kenilworth! They had the best staff and were so kind. Would DEFO visit again. Some nice moist cakes.

Disappointing. We stop at cafes and tea rooms all over Warwickshire at least three times a week on our bike rides. We arrived at about 11am, with only 2 people in the queue ahead of us the 30+ minute wait to be served was exceptionally long. The tea room is nicely presented but the acoustics are terrible (even though it was less than half full). Two of the cups put on our table were chipped/cracked. Then the bill came – this is the most expensive cup of tea in the area (£2.95) and I was overcharged for the toast! (cold by the time we got it and not great by a long shot!). They oringinally tried to charge me for 3 rounds of toast not 3 slices! They did reduce the bill on my questioning of it, but on getting home and calling them I found out I had still been overcharged (it's 18 miles too far for me to pop back and get my change as they said I could). Whilst the staff are pleasant enough and the space is OK the menu is overpriced and the service disorganised and slow. We won’t be going back there again so they have lost a group of potentially regular customers.

My wife & I stopped for a coffee & homemade cake each after a walk through Abbey Fields. My cinnamon bun was the best ever by some distance! Really moist & flavoursome and just enough. My wife’s dinky little custard tart got the thumbs up too. I’d have preferred stronger coffee, but it’s still 5* from me. We sat on the sunny side of a very pleasant street chatting with other dog owners. Great service too.

Visited mid week around lunch time so it was nice and quiet. The young lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. Our lunch was lovely but we followed up with a cake given the impressive selection but although it looked good the chocolate cake I had was on the dry and dense side. However I would probably give this place another try in the future.

This beautiful tea room in a busy strip of kenilworth, lacked customer service and professionalism. We were made to feel uncomfortable and a nuisance by requested culinary serveral times. Trying to enjoy the delicate taste of a Sunday afternoon cup of tea.. Plates are quickly removed from the table because they were closing early but failed to inform us at the time of booking! We were silently ushered out the tearoom whilst many sat comfortably.... unfortunately We will not be revisiting.

Pretty place but the scone my partner had was very small and my carrot cake very dry. Shame, it looked promising.

Booked an afternoon tea for my husbands birthday, the team were so accommodating with my booking. The afternoon tea was wonderful, fresh and lovely, the tea room is so pretty, plenty of space and they are dealing fantastically with social distancing and hygiene requirements. thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon. I recommend a visit by anyone wanting something special

Pretty little cafe in a characterful 19th Century red brick terrace with calm, relaxing interior. I popped in for a coffee to go and surrendered to the display of tempting pastries. The baking here must be done by angels. Moist and moreish, chunky in the hand yet light in the mouth: and that was just a flapjack. I will be back - I have to try more.

The worst ever cappuchino, a cup of froth. The manager(?) helpfully pointed out that cappuchino's are supposed to be frothy. Will stick with the other regular visit to excellent coffee shops in Kenilworth - Time for Tea, Coffee on the Corner & Deli on the Hill etc. The brownie was delicious so that was the saving grace but not going back.

Absolutely delicious! We’re still in lockdown but they’re currently selling takeaway Philippino food (random, yes!) and it’s genuinely my favourite find in ages. My friend recommended it to me and now after my second visit, I think it needs a bit of shouting about. It’s a little bit different, it’s warming, delicious and so flavoursome, you HAVE to try it!

The cakes are good and varied - individual rather than cut from a large cake.The table we sat at was hubby. I sat on a ‘settee style’ seat. It was filthy where the buttons were. Then I noticed the edges of the floor - grubby too. I messaged the establishment privately just to warn them so they could act on what I had seen. Have not heard from them and it seems they have not changed their hygiene standards. People will not ok with this after the lockdown.

This place needs a visit by the food hygiene people! Cobwebs hanging over uncovered food on the counter, dirty seats and floor not to mention the filthy front door and windows. I dread to think what the kitchen is like!! Very disappointing inside as it looks lovely from the outside.

Popped in after a dog walk - lovely choice of vegan cakes and dog friendly. Cake was delicious one of the best I've had dfor a long time.

I had high hopes and had reserved a table for my mums birthday today, hoping for a nice afternoon of tea and cake!As soon as I walked in I wanted to leave!! I noticed straight away the floors were dirty. We stood by the door for a couple of minutes waiting to be seated and nobody acknowledged us, so I walked over and asked for my reservation. The table we were directed to was dirty with the previous customers crumbs! I was embarrassed and disappointed that I had chosen this for my mums birthday so we sat for a few minutes, nobody came over to greet us or take an order, the waitress was on her phone behind the counter and clearly uninterested.After assessing the place, looking around, I couldn’t help noticing it was just dirty and dingy, so we decided to get up and leave. This patisserie is an embarrassment to beautiful old Kenilworth. I wasn’t prepared to pay good money in surroundings I felt uncomfortable in. Owners of food establishments really need to step up and take some pride in health and hygiene. I’m disgusted to be quite honest.

We found a parking place so decided to pop in.Place was empty, with a long faced waitress, which was not an invitation to stay.We looked around and decided on 2 cappuccino's,which had to be paid for as fast as you ordered them, with a hand held out for the cash, think she thought we were going to run away, not far as we stay locally !Anyway after reading 26 reviews on trip advisor and all were average, poor, or very poor, we like to give anyone a chance.The coffee arrived, 1/3rd was froth, 2/3rds luke warm milk, with a hint of coffee, the worst cappuccino's I have ever tasted, the staff were not interested, and must have heard our comments.Under the table it was dirty and not been cleaned for a long time, table had not been washed and was sticky, used dirty cloth obviously.Such a nice place spoilt by terrible customer service, and a lot of local competition much better standards.Remember Kenilworth is a small place and people these days read Trip Advisor reviews.Sorry will not be recommending Alexa Lauren to any of my business friends , needs to shape up, or shape out !

Awful experience. Uninterested staff. Over 40 minute wait for breakfast which came out after 4 other couples orders. Coffee Luke warm. Food order when arrived not correct. Asked to speak to owner no response. Poorly behaved dogs with other guests. So very disappointing!

We had two excellent mains, two great drinks and a well-made dessert, for what was a reasonable price. However, although the place was pretty empty and the staff were not doing a lot, the tables were dirty, service slow, and there was a hair under my cake. Just a little bit of improvement would go a long way to show off fabulous food.

We had the afternoon tea and were not disappointed. The selection of small cakes were delicious and not your usual run of the mill. Finger sandwiches were yummy. Large pot of tea. All served on vintage China. Have had numerous afternoon teas but have to say this was one of the best. The young girl who served us was lovely. Have not tried anything else at this pattisserie so cannot comment.

Ich war mit 2 Kindern (7 & 12) dort und haben eine Kleinigkeit getrunken. Die Kinder fanden es voll süss und waren von der Romantik des Raumes mit den Sesseln im Schaufenster begeistert.

Very disappointing visit. Ordered and was then later told that the item was no longer on the menu. Once I'd selected an alternative, then had to wait excessively long for food with others who had ordered after me being served first. I ordered an omelette, a simple item to produce but a high price tag at approx £9. I'm afraid neither surroundings nor service reflect their prices or make up the shortfall.

Popped in for lunch after visiting the castle. Croque monsieur was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. A happy visit.

Popped in here for tea/ coffee and cake. Cafe was quiet. Staff got our order wrong, didn’t seem to notice that 3 of our party had no food or drinks. When we pointed this out they didn’t seem very bothered and didn’t rush to correct their mistakes, choosing instead to serve new customers coming in. Tea & cakes good but sadly let down by service & this marred our enjoyment.

Booked in advance for afternoon tea. On arrival at the agreed time to be informed by a young girl that seem to be running things that although my name was in the diary no afternoon tea had been prepared and therefore none to be had.

Too expensive and not that tasty. Not sure I would rush back in a hurry as didn't feel that welcomed.

Nearly a 20 minute wait for 2 lattes & a mince pie. Coffee was ok, mince pie had very thick pastry & was a bit unusual overall.

Got drinks order wrong. No apology! Substituted part of one meal. Didn’t bother to ask if that was ok. Just served it up! Tables and floor dirty. Staff too busy gossiping to notice customers or tables.....

A smear of 3 or 4 falafels on cheap white sliced bread is not a 5.50 sandwich, even if it is on a big plate with a few crisps and salad leaves. Proprietors thought it was fine, so I sent it back, got a refund and left. There are no cafes at this end of town, the place could be booming if it got its act together. What a shame.

Food is disappointing. I was charged twice for breakfast and still waiting for my account to be credited. Spoke to the manager this morning and they’ve promised to refund me this week!!!

My husband and I stopped here lunch on Monday, and it was disappointing. I ordered a tuna & sweetcorn baguette and hubby ordered the english breakfast. After 25 mins wait, the waitress informed me that it was a sandwich they prepared and not a baguette and asked me if this is ok. It was a very expensive tuna sandwich at £4.50 with minimal filling. I regretted eating it, as I was ill later in the evening with diarrhoea and mild fever and felt nauseous throughout the night - this sandwich was my only meal in the day and i did not have any meal in the evening. The following morning I had diarrhoea again and did not feel well. This place need a hygiene rating in place!!

Visited here based on my fellow diner's previous tea and cake experience. Loose leaf tea was very pleasant and brownie was good. However, the 'Baguette Served with salad & crisps. Vg) Hummus & Roast Pepper' was truly awful. Brown baguette ordered and white baguette (looked like the cheap ones you buy and warm up), was delivered. Server did not apologise for the mistake, but took the baguette away. What was then delivered was a sandwich, made with two thin slices of brown bread, the smallest dollop of hummus and a few bits of chopped red and yellow pepper. Not a baguette or roasted pepper anywhere. The salad was a few green leaves with a drop of oil on one leaf. The plate also contained half a dozen salt and vinegar crisps. I attach a photo of the sandwich. Shockingly bad. Only the tea saved this from being a one star review. Won't be going back anytime soon.

We used to love this place but it is has slowly become unclean. The floor underneath the chairs had clearly not been swept or mopped for days as there was a thick layer of dust and ‘grub’ at our feet. Also, despite not being that busy, many tables were full of used crockery and the lack of apron/ uniform suggests a lack of professionalism. It seems that the staff can wear whatever they wish- doesn’t instill faith.

After visiting this tea shop 3 times, I can honestly say I look forward to going back again. The staff are gaining in confidence, the variety of food is ever increasing. Each time I have taken a different friend.

Booked afternoon tea for a birthday treat. As it was so expensive I booked tea for 2 to be shared between 3. This was ok for ladies with small appetites. The biggest surprise and disappointment was being charged for a second pot of tea. I have had much better afternoon teas elsewhere. Will definitely not be returning.

Visited here for a post -walk cup of tea for the first time on Saturday. As it was a patisserie I was not expecting any gluten free cake but was delighted to find at least six different options available. I was spoilt for choice and was pleased to see an unusual range of items.

We went here fr breakfast. We were the only people there and received a very off hand welcome. The whole place felt uninviting, the table needed a good clean which clearly made our waitress even more grumpy. No service forthcoming so we asked for menus which showed up as well used sheets of A4. We waited a while and decided we really didn't enjoy being there so left without seeing our host again. Further down the hghstreet we found a lovely warm welcome and had a great breakfast!

Visited this place twice and loved it! A small place but very pretty and cosy. The staff is incredibly friendly and the cakes/tarts were SO DELICIOUS! Having completed a mosaic class at the farthing gallery across the Street, I was looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. I came across this quaint looking cafe. The lady who took my order was very friendly and helpful. I decided to sit outside as the weather was too nice to sit inside. Great service as the lady brought my drink and food out to me. I opted for the ameretto latte and vegan fruit focaccia.Both were full of flavour and great value for money. I would definitely recommend and hope to return sometime soon, the selection of cakes and pastries available is great. Thank you to all.

Expensive for a piece of toast with hummus on and some yellow pepper with half a bag of crisps and sold as a terrine. Very disappointing and over priced.

Really enjoyed my passion fruit tart and big pot of loose leaf tea. I highly recommend giving this pretty and spacious tea shop a try . It is in the prettiest area of Kenilworth and only a short walk from the Castle and Abbey Fields.

Enjoys a quiet setting in old kenilworth. Small (10 tables) and homely. Good selection of home baked cakes and pastries. Fixtures in seating area are a bit grubby, menus tatty.

Podría ser tan bueno, la ubicación es genial, la decoración es agradable y las tartas de buen aspecto, pero ¿por qué no hacen un café medio decente, incluso potable. Si se va a ejecutar una cafetería conseguir lo básico a la derecha. Como ya han dicho otros, el servicio es lento y me pareció desagradable. Sonrisas debería ser libre, me sentí como una molestia en lugar de un cliente.

Mi novio y yo me encontré con este café por accidente. El interior el interior es preciosa y moderna. Las tartas que venden son tan bonitos y están todos caseros. La tarta que tenía era una tarta de fruta de la pasión merengue que estaba muy fresco. Recomiendo encarecidamente este café!

Me han pasado por aquí varias veces cuando en la zona. Recuerdo que sólo por su horrible de lento. Estoy en que hay ahora con mi hijo, pedimos un par de tazas de té y un sándwich y seguimos esperando 20 minutos más tarde. Estoy seguro de que no es simplemente porque la última vez que estuvimos aquí una mujer que había estado esperando mucho tiempo en ellos estalló y salimos. Por el amor de Dios Eleve su juego!

Aquí me pop de vez en cuando hacer recados corriendo este poco de Kenilworth. El ambiente es muy agradable y es muy iluminado por dentro. El café es bueno pero caro para el tamaño. Sin embargo, la tarta me parece muy inconsistente. He tenido eclairs que eran geniales, pero he tenido que era como comer cruasanes de ladrillo.

No puedo creer que este salón de té fabuloso ha escapado nuestra atención durante casi un año, la comida era encantador y nada era demasiado problema para el personal. Vamos a volver la próxima semana para probar su desayuno, no puedo esperar. Gracias a todo el personal por una experiencia encantadora.

Tenía unos huevos revueltos sobre pan tostado, huevos eran correctas y caliente cuando llegaron a la mesa. Mi amigo tenía un cruasán de chocolate sólo el horno, bastante sabroso. Más tarde tuvimos la tarta de frutas y tarta de limón. Para ser sincero no soy un experto, así que para mi pastel de papilas gustativas, habituado mi tarta de limón estaba riquísimo.

Había reservado un té por la tarde solicitar solamente sándwiches vegetarianos, a la llegada nos presenta con nuestro stand de nivel tres que contenían carne y pescado sándwiches! Teníamos este regresar y fue traído un lote fresca fuera de nosotros.

"Carne de un hombre es el veneno de otro hombre" como dicen, pero estoy un poco sorprendido de que algunos de los comentarios aquí son las tartas. rubbishing En mi opinión, Alexa Lauren ofrece una buena selección y variedad; saben genial y me luv em! El café también es muy buen sabor significativamente mejor y más auténtico de la Costa Grande como franquicias de café, Starbucks, etc.

Reservamos el té de la tarde en el café para 12 personas. Había visto las fotos en facebook para el té de la tarde vegetariana y reservamos para el cumpleaños de mi madre en las leyes. Fuimos a 80 millas y no nos decepcionó. Fue el mejor té vegano tuve jamás. Yo no soy vegetariana y los pasteles eran de primera calidad y no se podía decir que eran comida vegetariana. Proporcionan deliciosos sándwiches y vegetariano de merengue.

Nos encaminados para el desayuno, pero llegamos justo después de las 11, así que elegí del menú de almuerzo! El servicio era amable, precios ok! Café rápido almuerzo tomó un poco más tiempo, pero valía la pena la espera - Espinacas crepes de queso de cabra y delicioso! Visitará de nuevo - gracias:).

Ubicado en antiguo Kenilworth este establecimiento fue una bienvenida encontrar. Antiguo Kenilworth tiene una gran oferta de historia y vale la pena visitarla, pero comer y lugares no son abundantes durante! Sin embargo, Alexa Lauren Pastelería es una delicia y una gran alternativa a los cafés en la ciudad principal (que siempre dan más lleno). Café super y frutales focaccia. Aparcamos en el aparcamiento al lado de la Iglesia de campos abby San Nicolás que es gratis para 2 horas y media. Sin duda, volveremos si estamos en la zona.

Por desgracia, mientras que el servicio es muy amable y todo parece bien, el sabor y la textura de los pasteles no está a la altura. Hasta ahora he probado el brownie, que cayó en bizcochos (no en el buen sentido) y la tarta de trufa de frambuesa, que era suave, no está configurada correctamente y demasiado brusco y amarga. Por £6,45 para estas dos tartas (para llevar), es caro para la calidad de los productos. No he oído grandes cosas sobre los platos sabrosos, aunque no probé yo. Con algunos ajustes de los productos podría ser increíble, pero como actualmente no lo recomendaría a otros.

Descubrimos este café bastante por accidente después de una caminata por el bosque en Kenilworth un domingo por la tarde. Una ventaja inesperada fue que eran perros y nuestro perrito era incluso ofreció algunas delicias hizo el perrito! Este lugar es especial, yo tenía una olla de té antiguas de moda de hojas sueltas de Té Earl Grey y mi marido tenía un café americano. Las tartas de allí parecía absolutamente delicioso, todo hecho en el lugar y puedo confirmar que la que tenia estaba delicioso, un choux pastel relleno con frambuesa crema Chantilly. Todo estaba servido en el encantador casco antiguo porcelana china antigua. El personal era amable y servicial, y estoy deseando volver.

He estado aquí una vez y me dijo todo lo que necesitábamos saber. La decoración es barato, pero un aspecto caro, pero aun así, de alguna manera están desgastados. Have been a few times recently and mostly enjoyed good tea and excellent cakes. However the service has been consistently very poor. Today's chocolate cupcake was also poor and well short of the standard.expected.

I treated my mum to Afternoon Tea this afternoon as a birthday treat and didn't receive the experience that I hoped to gain from what I thought was a high class establishment. The cost was £17pp which I have no problem paying, but the staff were not attentive at all, when we arrived we were not welcomed, our table was pointed out to us, when seated, a young inexperienced waitress asked what we would like, I said we had booked afternoon tea, but no explanation of what we were going to be having was explained nor a choice of teas offered, or asked if everything was ok during our Afternoon tea, we just felt like we were popping into an ordinary cafe. Although the food was delicious and looked pretty on the cake stand I really feel the experience was let down by inexperienced staff who were not welcoming, warm, friendly or attentive but just happy to take my money. To be honest I feel my £35 would have been better spent popping to Marks and Spencer's and picking up some nice cakes and popping the remainder of the cash in a card for my mum to treat of herself.

Paramos para pasteles comida para llevar. La selección es bastante excelencia tarifa estándar, con algunos de los artículos del destacado. La frambuesa reliigieuse era muy agradable, los brownies eran demasiado cakey para ser un verdadero brownie, los croissants eran claramente casera.

Nos metimos en un almuerzo ligero y plato de sopa y ordered plato principal pasteles de pescado. Todo llegó a la vez después de media hora esperar!? Nos había empezado la principal, así que tuvimos que enviar la sopa volver a calentar. Pero los dulces y la sopa de pescado eran excelentes! Así que sobresaliente por calidad, pero hay que coger el servicio justo. Probamos, ya que no te decepcionará.

I have visited Alexa Lauren a few times and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The Full English Breakfast is really tasty. I'd highly recommend the Salted Caramel Eclairs or the Strawberry Cheesecakes. Definitely coming back!

Visitamos los domingos por la mañana después de un paseo. El ambiente era precioso y el personal muy atento. Como era domingo había un menú para el almuerzo. Teníamos el desayuno inglés completo y el pan tostado francés brioche. Ambos deliciosos y era justo lo que necesitábamos después de un paseo fría. No nos pudimos resistir a tomar unas cuantas tartas casa por la tarde que disfrutamos mucho. Volveremos regularmente!

Hygiene not the best.....cracked and stained cup and milk jug. Cake good but overpriced, and pain chocolate very 'doughy'. We like to support new local businesses, but this one needs to improve!

Visité aquí para tomar un café después de un paseo por los parques. Había leído críticas positivas así que tenía ganas de esto. La zona de estar y la decoración es preciosa. Sin embargo, esto se estropeó ya que el personal no venir y llevar las anteriores diners tazas cuando nos sentamos. Por desgracia, el apartamento blanco y capuchino era imbebible. Eran muy amarga e incluso con el azúcar, no pude acabar con ellos.

The Alexa Lauren Patisserie is a really nice place to go for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Very good service, and cozy ambient. Recommend.

Acabo de descubrir esta magnífica pastelería situada en la calle principal de Kenilworth. Todos sus deliciosos pasteles son hechas diariamente en la tienda, y también tienen un menú de almuerzo. El ambiente y las camareras son preciosas, pero lo que me mantiene regresando son sus sabrosas sopas de invierno, gran café y en su desembocadura a liberar medialunas de almendra. ¡Muy recomendable!

Un muy agradable encontrar en un día frío gélido. Me encanta el encanto de la antigua Kennilworth, y el patiserie definitiva es una parada de fogata enclavado en la antigua calle alta. Me gustó el ambiente un cruce entre lo antiguo y lo nuevo con sillas de cuero y asientos más tradicionales. Amplia variedad de pasteles y lugares para comer y un maravilloso café. Muy agradable.

Lovely selection of pastries and homemade bakes but beware if you have a nut allergy as the waitress was happy to serve me something which contained nuts . Nice atmosphere

Nosotros sólo fuimos para una taza de té y una tarta y el menú del almuerzo era tan agradable que decidimos optar por eso. Mi madre tenía la tortilla de hongos, me di cuenta de que no sin gluten y señalamos a mamá como ella es trigo intolerantes, pero ella optaron por la tortilla. Tuve crepes con salsa de queso y jamón y estaban deliciosos. Ambas nuestras comidas tiene una pequeña ensalada y patatas fritas. El servicio era amable y eficiente

Pretty patisserie in old town Kenilworth. Great tea & cakes, & friendly service & atmosphere. I sampled the rose tea which was delicious & a yummy fruit custard tart. My friend enjoyed a salt caramel eclair. We will definitely be returning.

Visitamos hoy para comer con mi madre y mi hijo. Excelentes sandwiches y empanadas frescos. Tuve un pan plano en forma falafel_nus, madre había una deliciosa ensalada de huevos sándwich y mi hijo tenía uno de sus medialunas de almendra. Un buen café y té un extenso menú. También nos dimos el capricho de algunos pasteles para llevar y éstos también eran excelentes. También producen la GBBO técnico hornear cada semana.
