The little beer shed has changed hands and is now a mini bakery outlet selling some quite good bread, coffee and baked snacks. I hope that Ales and Tails mobile operation is still out and about.

Been twice, once when it was doing a roaring trade to folk sitting out and around on well distanced little tables mostly drinking draught ale from a keg inside the rustic and glazed medium sized garden shed efficiently equipped and affably staffed with a guy serving refreshing booze and some other stuff. On our second visit we had mistaken the opening rimes and it was our fault that we had to slink off thirsty and thwarted. I think this cabin is a good thing, not only for casual drinkers but also for the spirit of the Broadway itself, a fifty odd year old single street local shopping hub in a sleepy middling outer suburb with a predominantly ageing customer base and a rather sad percentage of empty or silent shops. A & T bring some life to the pedestrianised curve and is better than the big franchised coffee place and the humdrum pasty and bakery shops. Not sure that we would flog out of town to Plymstock just to come here but if we had reason to come down out then we would use this place. Maybe it’s not quite like having a long lingering session outside a relaxed bistro, slightly shaded from the sun but we’ll lubricated with a couple of good bottles of wine but it’s an appealing place to take your weight off your feet and knock back a one, two, or more glasses of passable ale. Apparently the same guys have got themselves a trailer or two and a pitch down in nearby Radford Park and Arboretum which sound like another good reason to get stroll down there and snack and quaff by the water.

Shilton LnHoy fuimos al café de la cima de la colina con mi familia a tomar un café y mirar a mi alrededor. Como éramos 6 tuvimos que juntar 2 mesas ya que solo había mesas para 2 o 4. Tuvimos un joven miembro del personal que vino y nos dijo que tuvimos que separar las mesas, ya que no pueden tener 2 mesas juntas debido a la salud y la seguridad. Había un montón de espacio para moverse a nuestro alrededor. ¡No podíamos creerlo! Si se trata de un problema de h&s, entonces debe haber señales que le digan a la gente que no mueva las mesas por esta razón. También atienden a familias más grandes que entran. Antes de salir vimos una mesa para 6 en el interior de la cafetería, alguien más había juntado 2 mesas más pequeñas para hacer 4 personas, y había otra mesa que tenía 4 adultos y 2 tronas alrededor de una mesa para 4. Cumplir con las reglas si este es el caso. La otra mesa de 4 preguntó si podían juntar 2 mesas y les dijeron que sí. ¿Y si hubiera entrado una familia de 4 adultos y 2 niños, los separas a todos? Pensamos que el café había mejorado desde que fue tomado pero parece que aún no lo ha hecho. Nos iremos a otro lugar donde atiendan a familias más numerosas.

1 Leicester RoadI stumbled across costa for my afternoon tea, while waiting in a line that was out the door, due to only having 2 members of staff,ACTUALLY THERE WAS 3 however the young women seemed to be doing absolutely nothing, what a waste of wage percentage.. The guy serving a customer in front of me was extremely hostile and made my friend and i very uncomfortable, wasn’t making the situation any better. The gentlemen didn’t understand the deal which was being displayed on the board, however the rude costa worker made him and other customers uncomfortable by making him seem silly. 😡😡😡 AFTER THIS OCCURRED , the worker took my order didn’t ask if i had a costa card. AND MADE ME FEEL STUPID FOR NOT KNOWING THEY DONT HAVE ALMOND MILK. THEN THERE WAS NO “LIVE LAUGH LOVE” ENERGY . VERY HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT AND WASTE OF TIME ON A BUSY DAY. TO TOP IT ALL OFF THERE WERE CUPS AND MUGS ON ALL THE TABLES. When my coffee was made i felt as though my coffee was judged and belittled as the rude gentlemen said “here is coffee” i had to be what GEN Z call a karen but honestly so disappointed. DO BETTER COSTA. Next time i’ll be taking my business somewhere else , lost a loyal customer 😡😡😡😭😭

25 High StreetWe celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at Cafe Vin Cinq last night. The food was delicious as always especially the desserts. I don’t usually have dessert but couldn’t resist from the options that there was. Atmosphere is always lovely here, calm and relaxed but always feels a bit special. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and gave us a lovely glass of bubbly to round off our meal. Thank you so much for a lovely meal again. Look forward to next time we come. Thank you.
