Ale & Pate in Fife

We've popped in here a few times over the years for a fab ice cream coming back from Silver Sands beach. Tonight we were hungry. We wanted fish and chips! And these fish and chips are from the Dalgety Fish Bar (below this restaurant). The fish was really good. The chips? We're still searching for crispy, golden brown chips - and requested them specially. Nobody seems to know what this means! So no golden chips. But a beautiful piece of fish made up for it. The tartar sauce and curry sauce (probably pre-packaged?) were very good. The star of the show (on top of the fab gelato!) was the server, Jody. Happy, helpful, very welcoming and a great server, too. She's a real gem! Definitely worth a visit. And there's a beautiful view of the Forth, too.

I am a usual customer and every time I come it always amazing! I highly recommend the iced latte with caramel syrup. The staff are great too!!

Great menu, food and view. The wait was long 40 minutes for fish and chips and a panini. The young girl working also came across quite rude and short. Ok I missed the 'please wait to be seated sign' but an eye roll is a bit much.

Lovely choice of food if you want a sit down meal or if you just want an ice cream or dessert for a takeaway, great for that as well. Always very good service and if you are sitting in for food, lovely views out the windows. Definitely check this place out if you are over in this direction.

Absolutely delightful lunch today. We had a couple of things of the menu and all were delicious. Staff were attentive & really friendly. A fabulous addition to Dalgety Bay & I can’t wait to visit again.

Yet again had a magnificent quality and value for money lunch at Ale and Pate, smoked salmon and scrambled egg bagel and the bread / olives / cheese / hams / veg platter - washed down with a magnificent fresh coffee - can’t beat this place

Had the most amazing takeaway delivery breakfast from Ale and Pate this morning. Turned up on time and was hot and delicious. What a great idea! Would definitely recommend.

Come here a lot, great ice-cream, very much like a traditional Italian cafe but brought up to date. Kids love it.

Great wee cafe. Food with a braw view. The ice is so good and so tasty, I spend more on that than I do on the food. Love having chippy chips served at lunch and the kids love the place. The owner pretends to be a grump buts hes a big softie too

I have visited many times now and there are few places now where you can get a real Italian coffee. Small cakes are home made and delicious and their ice cream fantastic. If you are in the area and thinking of coffee, go nowhere else. I have not been in for a meal but understand the food is really good.

I ordered a cake from here and stopped for breakfast when we were there. Very good service and pleasant breakfast (I'd have preferred my sausage and bacon cooked more) and reasonably priced. The cake however is delicious!! Definitely recommend ordering for special occasions
