Really enjoyed our evening here. There was a good buzz about the place and an authentic Italian feel. The food and service was really good too.

We really enjoyed the food, don't like having to ask for a pre theatre menu when we've booked table for 5.30pm but apart from that would recommend because of the food.

As ever the welcome was warm and the food just wonderful…..we had a party of 12 and it still astounds me at the quality and indeed quantity……..Ercole and the team in the kitchen always excel and Francesco and the front of house team are just so lovely…….

The food was certainly good, but the atmosphere was that of a basic pizzeria rather than a restaurant, and the service was rather mixed. Also the air conditioning was on full heat mode which was simply unnecessary.

Food out of this world, staff friendly (other than miserable pizza chef) took too long to be noticed by staff every time and waited over 10 minutes from sitting to receiving drinks (we were gasping). Also they did that annoying thing where you ask to pay the bill and they deliver the bill eventually and walk away, so you have to spend another few minutes trying to attact attention just to get someone to bring the payment machine. It felt a little like the experience is deliberately stretched out to keep the table looking busy for its whole booked duration. Would definitely return, regardless, because the food is just freaking divine.

Had an evening meal for my daughter's birthday. What an amazing experience. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived to leaving. The food was great with a decent range of options to suit most tastes. Great quality Italian dishes and the portions were more than ample. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Service was extremely slow but very kind. The food was great but prices were a bit steep. I did not enjoy the fried ravioli, not as crispy as I would’ve hoped and a little bland. I LOVED my lasagna though, I will be returning for it.

A very atmospheric place. Nice staff. A place where the scent of my beloved Italy lives. I recommend it to those with celiac disease. You will find safe dishes for yourself here.

First time back at Al Duomo after many years. We are highly impressed!! The menu is varied and extremely reasonably priced. Francesco our waiter was on hand to recommend dishes and a wonderful wine. From the Haddock croquette and meatballs to crab tortellini and lemon sole the whole meal was excellent. The Sicilian lemon cheesecake was absolutely lovely! Portions here are generous so make sure you're hungry! Thank you Francesco and team for a wonderful meal, we will be back!

Booked at a party if 9 for my daughters birthday - Saturday lunch. The team at Al Duomo were excellent - really accommodating and the food excellent, as ever! If you egged the chance, do visit, I’m sure you will be impressed.

We were a party of 41 from our Church, and we had a really great evening. The service was excellent, the good humour and courtesy of the staff really made it a memorable experience. And the food was as ordered, delicious and hot. We’ll be making this a regular event

We had a brilliant lunch here for a table of twenty, mixed adults and young children. They gave us our own space on a mezzanine and we had one server, Luca, looking after us the whole time who was absolutely brilliant - very attentive and patient. All the food was excellent and it’s brilliant value too for healthy portion sizes. Thanks for looking after us so well! Highly recommend!

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The service was very good. The food was lovely. I was alone and it was quiet in the restaurant but the waitress spent time with me when not too busy. I would definitely recommend and will return.

Food was extremely average, if that. Would not recommend the Pollo Milanese. Maybe we just got the wrong meals. But I was expecting much better having read the reviews before I came. Was also very expensive for quality of food.

It’s been a few years since we had been,this time we were a large table of 12 and although there was a mix up at the time of booking Francesco went of his way to sort it and we all had lovely food,in time for the theatre,will go again

Zero stars. I cannot believe you have sent me an email thanking me for joining you yesterday. I couldn't join you yesterday despite turning up on time with my friends. You claimed that my booking didn't exist, despite the fact that I showed you your confirmation email from 2nd Dec and the email you sent a couple of days ago, asking me to confirm that my party and I were coming. I could not have done anything more to ensure my booking was safe. We were treated appallingly on arrival, basically insinuating that I had done something wrong. In 40 years of eating out in Brighton I have never been spoken to so rudely or treated so badly. We will not be dining with you again and I will be warning everyone I know about your booking system which obviously isn't fit for purpose.

Food wax average. Garlic bread did not taste of garlic and we hadn’t even finished that as a starter when our mains arrived so felt very rushed.

Went here with a big group of friends - 3 of us vegan, 2 vegetarians & serval omnivores, and everyone found something nice to eat. The fried courgettes & vegan macaroni bake with aubergine were super delicious, the vegan capricciosa pizza was amazing too and had a lot of actually good vegan cheese on it. The spaghetti with aglio, olio & peppericoni didn't blow me away, we've had more flavourful ones in other places, but considering the tastiness and generous sizes of all meals, it's not a big thing. Tasty meals and good options 😊

Not sure what happened and when, but went last year and everything was a lot better, food was bland, was a bit chilly and just not like it used to be, didn't recognised any of the staff so maybe new ownership

We had dinner last Sunday and everything was absolutely perfect. Attentive service and the food was really great (I am Italian) and pretty much everything was handmade from the bread to the pasta and dessert. Generous portions too, we couldn't finish everything. We will definitely come back. Recommended if you are looking for authentic and good quality Italian food in Brighton.

Service a bit hit or miss but they were clearly understaffed. Food acceptable but nothing special.

Following a visit to a local theatre a group amounting to 47 attended for afternoon tea on 11/12/24. We had our own separate area on the first floor. Our tea was ready to be eaten from the moment we arrived and the quality of the food and service were excellent.

The staff are very friendly and helpful; the ice cream desert was disappointing although all the other dishes were very good. The booking system is arduous! Repeated emails about providing credit card details and having to confirm the booking about three times were not conducive to making the process easy. Something needs to be done about this because custom may otherwise be lost.

We booked a table last minute after some back and forward on where to go. Glad we came to Al Duomo. Food was excellent, service even better!

Very nice Italian restaurant with a good choice of food. We really enjoyed our pasta and risotto. Tiramisu was delicious too. It is a nice place to come for food and wine. The service was very nice so was the food which was freshly made. Would highly recommend this place

This was honestly the nicest Italian restaurant we have ever eaten in. The food is absolutely delicious, possibly the nicest food we have ever eaten. The service is extremely fast and the food arrives freshly cooked and piping hot. The man (I think he is called David) is very nice and very funny. He actually made our evening with his exceptional customer service. We were only in Brighton for two night and planned to eat different cuisine on night 2. However, our food and the whole experience was so good that we rebooked again for Night 2. Our only complaint is that today we have to go home and we can’t eat there again tonight! Thank you Al Duomo for making our trip to Brighton amazing.

We shared a starter of fried courgettes were delicious. We then both had the butternut squash stuffed Ravioli with a pecan cream sauce which again was delicious but very filling. It was a Tuesday lunchtime so a bit quiet to have much atmosphere, but the service was excellent.

Wonderful authentic Italian dining experience. To say the waiting team and friendly wouldn’t be understating them (I wish I knew our guy’s name. For the purposes of this review, I’ll call him A). During our lunch here, A’s attentiveness was second to none; he was passionate, chatty (but not too chatty), welcoming and joyful. A very clearly enjoys working here and takes pride in his job. The atmosphere was comforting, bustling and spacious with a perfect little space for our pushchair at the front by an unused door. We didn’t book but they were delighted to receive us then seated and served us quickly. The menu is concise yet varied- anyone can enjoy a great meal here. Service, quality and care all top notch. Would LOVE to return again.

Whenever I visit family we go to Al Duomo, best Italian restaurant in Brighton so far. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, yummy food, I’ve had so many things from the menu and enjoyed it all. Vongole superb, Marinara delicious, monkfish amazing, carbonara as it should be. I’ve tried two vegan options and they were both so tasty. Will always come back without hesitation 👍👍👍👍

Excellent lunch here today. Seafood risotto packed with clams, mussels and king prawns and set off with samphire. Management and staff run off their feet, but it’s not surprising it’s busy with great food and drink at a good price.

Unfortunately my wife had the chicken and found some grisly bits which we highlighted to the waiter . He said we should have sent it back which would have resulted in both of us eating alone but the waiter became very defensive and we found it hard to get a word in let alone explain our reasons for not sending it back. As chicken is one of the most expensive items on the menu you expect a perfect meal. If anything it's over priced
