Excellent old school Italian nosh with some unusual options. Several rooms creates a cosier feel than expected for such a large place.

This was honestly the nicest Italian restaurant we have ever eaten in. The food is absolutely delicious, possibly the nicest food we have ever eaten. The service is extremely fast and the food arrives freshly cooked and piping hot. The man (I think he is called David) is very nice and very funny. He actually made our evening with his exceptional customer service. We were only in Brighton for two night and planned to eat different cuisine on night 2. However, our food and the whole experience was so good that we rebooked again for Night 2. Our only complaint is that today we have to go home and we can’t eat there again tonight! Thank you Al Duomo for making our trip to Brighton amazing.

We shared a starter of fried courgettes were delicious. We then both had the butternut squash stuffed Ravioli with a pecan cream sauce which again was delicious but very filling. It was a Tuesday lunchtime so a bit quiet to have much atmosphere, but the service was excellent.

Lovely staff, delicious Italian food, not too expensive

Wonderful authentic Italian dining experience. To say the waiting team and friendly wouldn’t be understating them (I wish I knew our guy’s name. For the purposes of this review, I’ll call him A). During our lunch here, A’s attentiveness was second to none; he was passionate, chatty (but not too chatty), welcoming and joyful. A very clearly enjoys working here and takes pride in his job. The atmosphere was comforting, bustling and spacious with a perfect little space for our pushchair at the front by an unused door. We didn’t book but they were delighted to receive us then seated and served us quickly. The menu is concise yet varied- anyone can enjoy a great meal here. Service, quality and care all top notch. Would LOVE to return again.

Whenever I visit family we go to Al Duomo, best Italian restaurant in Brighton so far. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, yummy food, I’ve had so many things from the menu and enjoyed it all. Vongole superb, Marinara delicious, monkfish amazing, carbonara as it should be. I’ve tried two vegan options and they were both so tasty. Will always come back without hesitation 👍👍👍👍

Excellent lunch here today. Seafood risotto packed with clams, mussels and king prawns and set off with samphire. Management and staff run off their feet, but it’s not surprising it’s busy with great food and drink at a good price.

Unfortunately my wife had the chicken and found some grisly bits which we highlighted to the waiter . He said we should have sent it back which would have resulted in both of us eating alone but the waiter became very defensive and we found it hard to get a word in let alone explain our reasons for not sending it back. As chicken is one of the most expensive items on the menu you expect a perfect meal. If anything it's over priced

Really friendly restaurant with great waiting staff. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. I only wanted soup which wasn't on the menu but the waiter checked and was able to bring me soup from the lunchtime menu... really happy with the positive attitude.

Lovely evening and very friendly service. Started a little slow but picked up rapidly, with nice touches like recognising my daughters birthday. Food is fine, but priced at the upper end of what would be considered acceptable for high Street italian dishes.

Excellent seafood starting with plump garlic prawns and quantiful crispy squid - with the best bit crispy legs and all. Followed by a steaming trough delivered to the table - foil top slit open for you - of generous monkfish steak, clams and mussels. Pizza’s are proper crispy, no soggy bottoms. Well priced, great choice and very tasty house rosé was a Pinot Grigio. Great, friendly service from everyone - not just dedicated waiters with the others neglecting you like in many places. Appreciated! Dog friendly too yay!

Great restaurant! We chose it against others, as it allowed our well-behaved dogs. Lots of space around tables for them to settle. We had a great meal. Fresh ingredients. Tasty dishes. I chose the aubergine with tomato and cheese sauce for starter and its flavours were delicious. My son had meatballs, which I tried. They were flavoursome and meaty. Other son enjoyed the mussels. The main courses we chose of pizzas and pasta in beef ragu sauce were again excellent. Maybe a touch more expensive overall than other places but so much fresher and more authentic than the chain Italian restaurants. A spacious and beautiful restaurant with friendly and professional staff too. Would definitely revisit when I'm in Brighton again.

A real 5-star experienced. A large group from the Brighton SEO Conference took over their upstairs bar and were treated to some exceptional Italian food and experience. Even folks like me who are mostly vegan had a large selection to choose from and the food I had was delicious! Grazie!

An outstanding lunch for my father’s birthday. Our first time going to Al Duomo, with the family (and dogs!) and it was great. The manager was friendly and the staff were attentive. The food was delicious, it felt like we were back in Italy! 100% recommend going here. Thank you for making my Father’s birthday that extra bit more special.

Really great range of vegetarian food and things I had not tried before. Really delicious too. Loved that it was very welcoming and unpretentious.

The atmosphere is beautiful. I had the risotto, which unfortunately tasted exactly the same as the cheap packet yellow rice with peas. Disappointing. Expensive and the waiter couldn't understand us, I'm not sure he could speak English.

Absolutely delicious food. We had the pre-theatre menu which had a range of choices and excellent value. Our server Riana couldn’t be more helpful from selecting wine and choices of food. Worth a visit

Visited after my partner took part in the London to Brighton bike ride.needed something before driving back , so I'm glad we did as due to traffic congestion took longer than it should. Anyway, the Restaurant Review : The food was delicious, I have a dairy intolerance and the waited checked what I'd asked for was safe , the staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. Really, it is worth a visit if you like good food , a lovely atmosphere and great service !!! 10/10.

Proper authentic Italian food in the centre of Brighton. Great food, great setting, great service. Everything was perfect. Francesco who served us was great. Enjoyed chatting and sharing stories with him about our roots in Italy. Will go again when we return to Brighton.

Always such a great restuarant and great value for money

First time back at Al Duomo after many years. We are highly impressed!! The menu is varied and extremely reasonably priced. Francesco our waiter was on hand to recommend dishes and a wonderful wine. From the Haddock croquette and meatballs to crab tortellini and lemon sole the whole meal was excellent. The Sicilian lemon cheesecake was absolutely lovely! Portions here are generous so make sure you're hungry! Thank you Francesco and team for a wonderful meal, we will be back!

We had a great night here. They managed to fit 7 of us in for dinner on short notice. Food was fab and our waiter was a lovely young man who ensured we had everything we needed. Great spot for a good food with a good atmosphere.

Moved from Italy to the U.K 8 years ago and this was the most authentic italian food i've had, the seafood so fresh. Amazing service from ALL the staff on the floor, so kind and friendly. We were served by Julie and Francesco but needless to stay we received a warm welcome from everyone. All who visit Brighton should come here. Thank you for the best experience

The antipasta platter was great.

What a lovely restaurant. I went with my children as we were staying locally. The service was friendly and welcoming. The portions were huge. I’d ordered a starter as a main and was surprised at how big it was. The food was tasty and hot. We really enjoyed our visit and would certainly visit again.

Be sure to try the seafood pizza... chewy dough and fresh cheese... it's so delicious, the price is reasonable, and they're friendly!!

We were looked after by the staff and manager, cannot fault the service or food a very relaxing 3 course meal was had by our large party, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend and will be going back.

Don't visit brighton much and not been to the restaurant since pre covid when we thought it was absolutely fab. Was disappointed it was closed last time we went and so pleased open again. Still wonderful just seemingly like the town itself it seems much quieter despite the holiday season so a little less atmosphere. Also dog friendly so great for us.

A lovely family meal and huge portions, and pet friendly (not a given in Brighton)!

Haven’t eaten here for a while and think the menu has considerably changed. I used to enjoy some of the filled pasta options which are no longer available. I did however enjoy the chicken I ordered.

Fantastic food and excellent service. My friend has coeliac and there was barely anything that she could choose on the menu just one main and one dessert which is a real pity as the menu is extensive

My wife and I came here for our Anniversary dinner and we were amazed with how friendly the staff were when we booked (especially as it was last minute). Francesco was our server and really knew a lot about the food and how it was all home made. The food was beautiful and easily the best Italian I have had. 10/10!!!

Love this place! Staff are fabulous, restaurant is lovely ( although we sat outside) and food we found was top notch ! Portions are very generous - if we’d known we would have shared fewer starters between us - we were stuffed after 2 courses! Also they are dog friendly which meant we could bring our pooch along too 🐶Very happy and will definitely return.

We enjoyed every aspect of this meal. The cocktails were made fresh; the pasta was homemade along with our desert! 10/10 all round!

Very friendly and welcoming team, excellent service and fantastic food, hearty portions and exquisite Italian cuisine. The secret to Iatalian food in my view is less ingredients but all good or best quality and the knowledge of how to balance a dish, these guys pull that off and the experince and taste is very good! Not the cheapest menu but excellent value given the taste and quality of the food.

food is quite good but not outstanding. Pizza was nice but better pizza's elsewhere. My wife had Ragu which was ok. Service is good...but note they charge 12.5% service charge automatically which i thought was a bit cheeky ...even if you only order drinks.

My thanks to Freya who served my wife and I today, given our 38th year anniversary. Given the wonderful weather in Brighton, our appetite sought the cold mezz starter. A wonderful selection of meats, cheeses, olives, fresh fruit and breads. This was for 2, but could have easily been for 4 persons. Wine selection was spot on. The atmosphere was great, extremely bright and cheerful, very clean premises. Top marks from us. Will be back! Pizzas, pasta seen being served will be on our list next time. Pasta, ice cream etc made on site. Highly recommended.
