From California/Arizona, and I previously lived in Mexico City. Came here recently looking for some decent Mexican food, bearing in mind we are of course in the UK. The guy working here was super nice and friendly. Unfortunately the bean and cheese burrito here was only so-so, but not particularly good. For example, I’d say it was worse than chipotle in the states. I can explain why — first, despite paying extra for guacamole and sour cream, there was almost none in either in our two burritos (not great for 2 pounds extra for each burrito). We could barely taste or detect them in either. Second, there was too much rice in the burrito and not enough beans, and the burrito had the wrong type of cheese than would typically be found in a standard Mexican burrito, so the taste all around was mediocre. The salsa was totally fine. To be sure, we LOVE Mexican food, but my wife said it was one of the most mediocre burritos she had eaten in years — thus my 3 star rating. If you’ve never been to Mexico or the U.S. , you may be satisfied with the burrito here, but if you’re used to real Mexican food this place will probably be a disappointment. My recommendation would be to improve and increase the amount of guac, use less rice and more beans, and improve the quality of the cheese that is used. I was surprised by the quality of the burritos here given that the guy working at the cart seemed to be from Mexico, so should definitely know what a good burrito tastes like?

The BEST burrito I have ever had, came back here as much as I could during my 3 years here. Staff are very generous with the portions and overall lovely. Overall 10/10 can’t miss this.

Came here for lunch on Tuesday and the woman that served me was SO unbelievably rude. I work in the Amazon office opposite the van so decided to treat myself to lunch here but after experiencing such abysmal service from her I will definitely not be returning, and I’ve warned my colleagues not to bother coming here either. Would give 0 stars if I could, food has gone really down hill too.

pre-ordered on a website called foodstuff 2days before for an important group event; in the day 11 of us waited for 2hours and they kept telling us food will be ready in 30min or 5 min. It was really disappointing when they finally cancelled it (5min before cancellation they still told us it is 5min away…) As a shop that mostly do takeaway this is quite unacceptable. Don’t usually do a very bad review but have to do this one so people know the risk of ordering from them.

I had a burrito tonight and it was delicious, I recommend the guacamole, pico de gallo and salsa verde. The treatment was excellent.

Had to get the train to Cambridge today, on my way back to the station the pink van peaked my interest so happy I stopped at this taco truck to take food home for the family- wow, I got three portions of tacos - carnitas, chicken and Nopales - they were all fabulous, the corn tortillas were pressed on the comel and grilled before you, everything fresh and tasty, will defo travel the short 20 mins by train again to have these- ps do not miss out on the Salsa Verde- it is hot and delicious ❤️

Has recently upped prices to 11quid for exactly the same thing I've been buying for well over a year for less than a tenner. All the surrounding vans have kept the same prices as always. Voting with my wallet and no longer coming here. You've lost a regular customer

Awful tacos. Dry food. I have ordered a birria taco and wasn't good. The wrap seemed chewing gum. I also found an HAIR in the plate. Disgusting.

The burrito 🌯 is bomb! Flavour packed, a massive portion size that will certainly fill you (and perhaps one other person) up. Ask for the extra spicy sauce, if you've no sense of self preservation. Friendly and quick service to top it all off! Located just off the taxi rank, amongst a few other food trucks.

The van was shut but i told Heath i was mexican and really wanted to try proper tacos! He opened early for me and made the best tacos i have had in the uk! Bravo!

Tried 3 different tacos and the burrito. All were absolutely delicious. The blue corn tortillas were perfection. There’s a lot of variety for sauces too. I had their spiciest sauce, and it was just right. Heath is the chillest dude too. He was so easy to talk to and made me feel welcome right away. I will definitely be back for more!

The website has you pick the options that you would like to remove from the burrito. Instead it added them, this meant my son did not want it because there were beans, rice, jalapenos on it. The ribeye quesadilla said it was on a corn tortilla, it came on flour, this meant my husband could not eat it. There were not the same options to order as on the other sites. We made it work, but will only be ordering directly from the truck from now on.

Amazing food, and even better staff! Chris was so wonderful and accommodating! We will definitely be back! Would honestly recommend all the dishes we've tried (tacos and quessadillas)

I have recently started working in the area and really wanted to give Alchile a try! I was so pleasantly surprised. I was served by Heath who was a great laugh, very friendly and helpful. I had a chicken burrito which was amazing, plenty of food for a really good price! I will definitely be going back for more🤩

Great spot to grab a bit of Mexican food near the train station. Given that it is England, the food is not super authentic, but it is nonetheless very tasty, with a wide variety of offerings, and well-prepared fillings. The service is fast and friendly, so it is perfect for grabbing a bite if you have a bit of time to wait. I recommend checking this place out if you want to have Mexican in Cambridge! I ordered extra meat, and the burrito was generously filled accordingly.

Lovely chicken burrito, the perfect balance of homely black beans and rice with fresh and zingy jalapenos, guacamole and tomatoes. Would definitely eat here again.

Heath was an awesome person to run this place. I had chicken street tacos. The shells were homemade and I was warned in advance that they would take 10 minutes to cook. Meanwhile, Heath was happy to share, when prompted, his experience of Cambridge.

Heath was awesome! I had a Al Pastor burrito and it was extremely tasty. Excellent choices of sauces. Heath even told us a bit about Cambridge and offered advice on some things to do, very helpful.

Came for a quick bite before catching a train. At a food truck with a queue of three people you’d expect to not have to wait too long… not so with the glacial rates of service here. After ~35 minutes I managed to get a burrito and only made my train because it was delayed by 10 minutes. To top it all of the burrito was very bland and very much not worth it; Alchile is certainly no nanna mex.

It used to be great but the quality of food and their service (the way they send their orders) dropped significantly. Every single time they exclude tortilla chips or something else even if the item is paid for. And in my latest order the burrito included very few pieces of steak which were incredibly overcooked and impossible to chew. It’s such a shame really.

Coming from the States I have had a lot of disappointments with Mexican food here, BUT Alchile has been a godsend! Yesterday I took my parents and we had a great time chatting with the young guy manning the truck. He was so kind. And we all loved the tacos!

Editing my rating from 5 stars to 1 star. The first time I had the veg burrito it was great and a cheerful lady made it. The second and third time today which is the last time for me, made by the seemingly biased big guy, the burrito was terribly bland and filled with loads of rice and little beans. I love tex mex burritos and this food truck is on the way to kill it for me! It gets crowded at times with long waiting and no focus on quality. The guy gave me those hot burritos in bare foil in my hands. Also, given the price, everything including things as basic as sauces cost extra. Keep adding 70p for any sauces and sour cream and of course more for guac. I'm going to resort to my favorite tex mex place Tortilla over this disaster food truck!! Thanks for ruining my lunch.

They marked the order as delivered but there has been no delivery. Restaurant closed, no contact number except for Just Eat, also closed. Requested refund but can't get a refund on the delivery charge, for the delivery that DIDN'T HAPPEN. No option on Just Eat to report that my order has not been delivered.

Hands down the best taco I’ve had outside of North America. They nailed the juice to flavor ratio in their condiments and toppings. Their tortilla is also so fluffy and fragrant. Every mouthful is basically an explosion! I recommend getting a delivery where they separate the tortilla and the condiments so that you can build your own perfect taco. 11/10 wholeheartedly recommended.

Excellent! We (Most of my teammates) visit at least once a week. It is our go to place when we are hungry! Make sure you ask for the Habanero Ranch sauce, it isn't on the menu, but if you like it hot you will not regret it!

Really didn't hit the spot at all, was looking forward to a good burrito! Everything is 'extra'. For £8-9 you get a meat, scoop of rice, shredded lettuce and a hint of cheese in a tortilla, which was super bland. To have any flavour at all be prepared to pay something like £13+ to get any sauce, salsa, sour cream, guacamole etc. Shame. The guys were really pleasant and service good otherwise.

This is an absolutely great place to eat Mexican food. Have eaten there three times in October, tacos with beans and cheese, and two types of burritos - all was fresh and tasty. Their guacamole is first class. Twice there was a very nice guy, Germano, and service was great, friendly atmosphere and all. Third time I visited, he was not there, just two sad salesmen not really interested in some contact with the client. But food still great.

I've moved away from Cambridge and am still craving these tacos

I was here yesterday and what can I say? It was great! As a Texan living in England I just couldn't get enough. I had the steak tacos, with guacamole and the Chimi sauce. It was all really fresh and wonderful. The team member making the tacos was friendly and put together some delicious tacos for me. I don't know when I'll be back to Cambridge but be sure, I'll get off the train and walk straight to get a taco. As the best Mexican food in Cambridge, Alchile should open a restaurant as soon as possible.
