Albero Lounge in Bedford

This is a wee treasure in the centre of Bedford. We stayed here 2 nights and the rooms were just wonderful. They were just lovely - and so well designed. Bed was super comfy, the view from our room out over the river was really lovely and it was really quiet upstairs. Nice to be able to pop downstairs for a nice bite and drink. We love it here and would highly recommend this spot if you're after a nice special treat in Bedform.

This café bar has a lovely location next to the pedestrian bridge over the river. We really enjoyed sitting in the outside seating area on a warm day. We both had a cocktail, the staff were very obliging and made it the way we like it.

It was my wife’s birthday yesterday and we thought where can we go to celebrate, we decided on The Albero Lounge, eclectic , comfortable and relaxing, what a fantastic decision, Long Island Iced Teas and a selection of Tapas, they where absolutely brilliant, the staff where welcoming and friendly, especially Jen who I think was the manager, she was fantastic and would recommend this to anyone.

We love this restaurant and often stop in for lunch. Service is exceptional and the food is delicious. The only thing that lets the restaurant down (in my opinion) is the music. It is absolutely awful and way too loud. It is frustrating that so many restaurants and pubs play music for the staff and not the customers.

I love Albero. We have been here a few times in various combinations, a full family, friends, with and without the dog but always with my mobility scooter. It NEVER causes issue, the staff are gracious and helpful, nothing is too much of a problem for them. I am gluten free and the gf menu is probably one of the broadest I have come across, I LOVE that I have the options on what to eat, plus they can tweak things further if needed. I had the gf lounge burger which was lush, my hubby had the steak frite which was cooked beautifully (especially given it was Saturday, busy, busy). I would say the chips may have been over salted for some, I love salt, but some may pick up on it. The hot chocolate was mountainous and no one was in a hurry to move anyone on. The atmosphere is light and happy, the premises is clean and tidy. The loos are clean too and I can't think of anything else to compliment on! Brilliant.

My daughter won a quiz here and the prize was a nights stay which she gave to us. Room 3 was just a dream. Bath in the room and a shower to die for. Hard decision what to have but had to opt for the bath. The bed was so comfy didn't want to get out. Lovely veiw watching the rowers on the river, just a lovely nights stay to finish off a lovely weekend. Highly recommend

Came in due to the long wait at other restaurants. I gotta say, themes burger were probably the best I’ve ever had. It initially had an hours wait on food but they got it done in 20minutes :). Great serví m r and delicious food!

Excellent food you cannot fault it. Really nice atmosphere and also family friendly. We will definitely go again. Location is also good too.

This place is just amazing. From checking in to our room with lovely polite, helpful staff, to a cosy sit down drink in a beautiful welcoming lounge. I need to talk about the rooms. The room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean with a wonderful view over the river. The bathroom was huge, with a beautiful roll top bath, walk in shower, 2 sinks, 2 mirrors and anything else you could possibly want. We will definitely be saying here again. Thank you to everyone at Albero lounge for an amazing stay.

Just stopped by for a coffee while we were walking round Bedford. Quirky decor and probably at its best when there’s lots of people in there giving it an atmosphere that, unfortunately, was a bit lacking when we were there. In terms of accessibility, there is an entrance that you can wheel in from the square outside but it does have a bit of a lip to it- probably to stop the rain coming in under the door. Another entrance is up a couple of steps to it depends how mobile you are which you choose. The lounge also has an upstairs- not sure if this has lift access or not. The coffee was OK and the toasted tea cake was really chunky (big enough to need more than a couple of small portions of butter!)

Ordered Rose’s chicken truffle cause, according to what written in the menu, it was delicious. It actually was. I just didn’t find any chicken. Literally 5 little pieces of shredded chicken. If you want mushroom and potatoes, then go for it but do not expect to find any chicken.

Called in here Sunday for lunch ideal comfy seats & roomy however one of the most annoying things are the number of yapping dogs, I can appreciate a lounge bar for allowing dogs but there is a limit when they are left to run round & then sit on the armchair's. The food was tasty with generous portions albeit we did have to wait 3/4 hour from ordering it to being served. The reason for the many dogs may have been due to the fact it was Sunday, we have been during the week & it’s totally different a much more pleasant atmosphere.

Frozen square chips with ketchup on top are not patatas bravas. The other tapas items were clearly reheats. Staff were pleasant enough. Won’t be returning

You know when you just want to find somewhere just to kick back on a sofa, drink some great beer, read a good book and eat some delicious tapas??....well, the Albero Lounge has all of that, and brilliant staff to complete the experience. The 3-dish tapas is a great way to experience lots of great flavours without feeling like you've been exposed to a US-sized monster main course that many restaurants serve (quantity over quality etc). Couple that to some great IPAs, then you've got somewhere where you can spend a while enjoying social time with friends or quality time with a good book!

My partner and I went to Albero Lounge mid week. He ordered the falafel platter, which was delicious. I tried to order bang bang cauliflower but they didn’t have it, then they were out of the cauliflower curry. I switched to the vegan BLT (described as bacon, lettuce and sliced tomato on toasted bread with garlic mayo) and fries. What arrived was 2 pieces of white bread stuffed with vegan bits. The waitress asked if it was okay and said she’d take it back to the kitchen to see if they could fix it. It arrived back with a splodge of mayo. I asked if I could have the bread toasted and tomato and lettuce. She took it away again and the manager brought it back with some cubes of tomato added and explained that it couldn’t be toasted. We ended up laughing because I’ve worked as a waitress and my partner is a former chef so we understood that the wait staff were just dealing with a difficult chef. She offered me fries for free but I already had some, then soup but then they were out of that, so she just refunded me. I came home and made some cheese on TOAST. Albero Lounge need to stock properly but the kitchen need some training evidently on customer skills and working in the service industry.

Awful. Food a rrived cold. When flagged up it was reheated not recooked with the thinnest slice of black pudding, never seen a slice so thin!!! Do not recommend and will not return!

Our room was stunning, very clean and comfortable. Has a huge bath in the room, decorated beautifully, will definitely be booking again. There's multi story parking very close by, great location. 10/10

What a great venue. I came here for the first time yesterday, 15th November, around lunch time . The atmosphere, was really welcoming. The location and vibe of this place is both unique and beautiful, and the staff were amazing. The place seemed quite busy when I came, but there was still a few seats left and the coffee here is delicious! Add to that the customer service, where the staff here seemed very helpful and, very pleasant. There were three girls working on my visit, and all three worked exceptionally well as a team!, delivering food and drinks to the customers and, engaging with their customers throughout! Will definitely use again, and highly recommend it to anyone...

We went for an evening dinner here last week. There’s been a change in management and they’re trying to raise the, already good , standards . We had a nasi goreng with fried egg on top and their Goan lamb curry, both were really delicious and the goreng seems to be an improvement on what we’d had last time we’d ordered it. We also had a sticky toffee pudding and their chocolate brownie puddings which were also great. We will be back !!

We always enjoy visiting the lounge chain of café bars. The outside seating at the Bedford branch was particularly pleasant as it overlooks the river. We enjoyed two flat whites, which cost £6.60.

The eclectic style and the retro-inspired decoration make it a cosy place. There are also a number of separate areas in which different convivial atmospheres are distributed. The staff is attentive and the food is pretty good, especially the burgers.

Arrived with my four housemates, sat at table all ordered and it took about an hour for the food to arrive at all different times. The food was over cooked and burned, we showed the waitress and complained she simply said ‘okay’. We then were told we couldn’t order any more drinks even though we had a lot of food still on the table which didn’t make any sense to us. Will not return absolutely not impressed.Completely down hill since last time I visited.

Visited Albero Lounge today with family and the setting was lovely. Greeted by a polite lady at the front, who explained in's and outs due to Covid. However, sat down and ordered the food via online, only problem was that they were out of Decaf Coffee, but never the less, the waitress came straight over to inform me, I was a little gutted as I was looking forward to my Cappuccino, but ordered Hot Chocolate instead, and so glad I did, it was perfect! Food then came over, it was beautifully presented and piping hot!!! I ordered the Bombay Sweet Potato & Lentil curry, nom nom nom, it was delicious!! Highly recommend this dish. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Thank you. :) Definitely due another visit.

We come to Alberto lounge occasionally, can’t go too often cos it’s quite far away from where we live. However the few times we have been we’re always wowed by how much quality they have on there vegan menu, really well considered and realised menu. Lovely atmosphere and great service, Luke who sat us down and came to check out that our food was ok was really professional had great mannerisms. Would recommend this place to anyone. Vegan hot dog was outrageously good, honestly fully slapped, I’ve attached a picture of the naughty dog in question, now I’m gunna finish it.

We came in this week after lockdown lifted. We were met at the door by Josh, who explained everything to us (we've been before but if course things have changed!). Once we were seated Josh brought our drinks to the table - lovely cheerful service, we'll definitely be back!

Albero lounge is a quirky restaurant that feels exactly like a lounge; It’s spacious and comfortable! There is a huge array of Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options that include brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals. It’s a great place for coming out for a few drinks too!The staff are lovely and always do what they can to help. I come here often and I will continue to come all the time. Superb restaurant!

My sister and I went the day before the second lockdown. We weren't disappointed, the food was freshly prepared and really tasty. Brilliant staff were so helpful and friendly, what more could we ask for?

We discovered the lounge after lockdown 1. The food is brilliant but what stands out here are the wonderful and friendly staff. Great cleanliness and COVID systems in place. The breakfast is superb for both meat eaters and veggies.

So we were looking for somewhere to stay local for a weekend break away from the kids.We took a punt on booking blind and last minute. I have to say our stay has been amazing. Lavish bedroom with a view over the river.Staff have been really friendly and a breakfast from heaven.I can’t really see anyone wanting more.Very reasonably priced too.

On the rare one off of not having children we visited for drinks and tapas. Lovely food and brilliant cocktails. The covid Procedure was easy to follow. Luke provided excellent customer service and even let me borrow an umbrella as it was tipping down! Lovely atmosphere. Thanks guys and girls

Ventured in for breakfast, sad to say it wasn’t very good at all. I opted for a full English, but all of the ingredients I thought were of poor quality. Everything had a slight chemical taste to it too. Can’t fault the staff at all, they were all very pleasant and accommodating but the food was a let down.

We had a lovely meal and drinks, looked after wonderfully by Josh. We felt Covid safe with staff wearing masks at all times. We did struggle with the app as we are old ladies and were helped with table service. The food was good, well cooked and presented. The Churros were super. Service was at times a little slow but that was ok as the staff were working hard, table service takes up more time and we were not in any hurry. All in all I was pleasantly surprised by a lovely venue and food, will definitely be visiting again.

If the highlight of a restaurant is the decoration.. something's wrong. Wouldn't recommend tapas. Also, the app to order crash everyone you try to pay.

Food and staff are always great. The app that we have to order by on these times is appalling and will keep crashing when ordering. We have never managed to place the order first time round it takes us at least 2 times to manage it. This does tend to put me off going if I’m the only responsible adult.Please sort the app out properly

Food can be a little slow, but man is it worth the wait! As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find really delicious, filling food. Alberto lounge delivers every time! I actually had an unsuccessful date here and didn’t want to come back, but I just couldn’t resist the food! Highly recommend if you have the time!

Me and my partner stayed the weekend just gone and I will 100% be going again and recommending this place! We stayed in room 3 which was beautifully decorated as well as the entire place. Great atmosphere, customer service and the food & drink was spot on everytime! We couldnt thank alex & naisha enough for waiting on us and making our anniversary extra special with a complimentary bottle of bubble and great cocktail skills! Looking foward to visiting again, would highly recommend!

Lady with purple hair quite comfortable to be very rude to us, we only asked a question to clarify what the meal comprised of (a bowl of squid came on the same plate as a vegan breakfast!) sounds boring, it is boring.. but i was astonished at the attitude, we are all needing to be kinder and more considerate of each other, Albero lounge staff need to be careful not to let their standards slip. We have visited many times with no problems but today I was DISGUSTED!!!!! by the HYGIENE STANDARDS!!!!!! in this restaurant.when we arrived the door was open for ventilation. We were asked to wear a mask and use an app to order which in these times of Covid is sensible and acceptable. We ordered a latte and a hot chocolate which was served quickly. The chap on the door was very friendly and wore a MASK!!!!! but was pulling it down when he spoke to anyone making it INEFFECTIVE!!!!! The door which was open for ventilation was closed by him.The cup which the latte came in had LIPSTICK!!!!! on the rim so I informed a waitress who apologised and brought a fresh one. When I mentioned this to the chap on the door he said it was ok because the dishwasher sanitised everything. I asked him if they checked crockery after it came out of the dishwasher he said they didn’t have time. I asked him if he had been on a food hygiene course and said he had. I doubt this because he would have known dishwashers don’t SANITISE !!!! they clean. In these dangerous times of COVID!!!!! I would request the management train the staff on FOOD HYGIENE!!!!!!

A friend told me about Albero Lounge because I was looking for somewhere to do my work outside of my home. Firstly, the actual space is gorgeous and set by the river. Secondly, the COVID-19 precautions and track and trace are perfectly in place, every employee wearing face masks, and instructions to the customers on how to order are very clear (really simple if you have a smartphone - scan a QPR code and the menu and ordering options pop up). The service was excellent, the place was very clean and the menu itself is diverse with many options (they also have vegan and gluten-free menus). Oh, and if you like Bloody Marys, this is the place to have one! So good!! I highly recommend Albero Lounge!!!
