I love this cafe. The cakes are lush, the coffee is so good and there's always a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Was served a delicious herbal tea and chocolate brownie by a lovely barista - would definitely visit again! Very nice bright and welcoming space :D

Deleted and reposted my review and is doesn’t represent the cafe as it is now. Used to be my favourite spot on North st, however I recently went back and it’s totally changed. Not sure if new owners, but people I didn’t recognise. They don’t do cooked food anymore which is what made it unique from the other 50 cafes that serve coffee and croissants in the street. The vibe has also gone, it’s dirty, dirty floor and kick boards, hardly any plants left, and got rid of the arty wonky home made mugs they used. Nothing to bring me back here again which is a shame. Was quite sad the rest of the day after visiting recently after a year or so off ‘cafe’ing’ to save money.

A great little place selling an amazing array of yummy cakes. We had the Basque Cheesecake which was gorgeous. Lovely staff too.

Sadly no food any more so rating food low. Used to be my favourite regular place when they had pisco sours (so good!!!) and delicious sandwiches but now it’s rarely open when I try to go, and very limited in choices (no lunches etc) so sadly I barely go any more Real shame coz it’s such a lush place Still lush for a coffee though- Do go in and get a bit of cake

Had a mocha and the vegan banoffee cake Which were both amazing.

Lovely drinks and food and a great atmosphere. I can highly recommend the crumpets and the Montreal Fog 👍

Stopped for lunch , had a perfect cheese toastie. Gorgeous, comfy vintage seating and a lovely, light space. Great vegan options and delicious cakes thank youuu!

Tea and cake were nice. Chipped tea pot not hygienic Toilet was really dirty and toilet door hard to lock. if I had seen how dirty the toilet was before I ordered and paid I wouldn't have stayed.

Such a cute cafe with a really chilled vibe. Went for a coffee and brownie which were both 10/10 but the food menu also looked incredible! Veggie/vegan options available.

Friendly service from a small and cheerful team. The menu is small and changes regularly; I believe it's entirely vegan and vegetarian. A good brunch spot if you can find a table

Went in as the food looked promising. Got told to take a seat and someone will come up to take my order. After 10 minutes I got bored of waiting for service and left. No excuse when the place was basically empty.

Nice little cafe with lots of light and house plants. Coffee was good and toastie was tasty and we nabbed the comfy chairs at the front. Space is a bit tight when it's full, so less great for prams that can't be collapsed and left by the door.

Beautiful and cosy café within a stone's throw of the city centre, you're in for a treat if you visit Albatross! The counter is full of treats catering to all sorts of dietary requirements, and the coffee is delightful. They have a rotating guest spot on filter of local coffee roasters to try, as well as beans for your own home if you fancy yourself as a home barista! Love how they have maintained a cosy community feel, unpretentious and welcoming 💕

Super super cozy, love the plants and decor. The armchairs are to die for. Please try the toasties! We had the mackerel toastie and the goats cheese toastie which were incredible. Food was so good I couldn't even get a snap before it disappeared. Tried their rose and lemon fresh tea, which was very light and fresh. Definitely pop in for a lunch or even to do some work on a laptop.

A homely comfortable cafe with great toasties and coffee. It is a nice friendly venue for meeting friends and it serves alcoholic drinks as well as teas and coffees. The food is fresh and tasty. There is a toilet but the step to get to it is unusually steep.

This cosy cafe has a special atmosphere that is quiet and calming, making it the perfect spot for chitchatting, but also for reading or working. The coffee and brunch are also fantastic. Overall, a lovely place to spend your morning

When it comes to community cafés on North Street, Albatross is the yang to Hennessey's yin. One bright, the other dark; one minimalist and relaxed, the other maximalist and bustling; yet both delightful, delicious, and above all friendly.

Lovely little cafe. Vegan croissant 🥐 ( if that's your thing) plus other non vegan loveliness. Good range of teas too ❣️

Good food and drink. Limited seating and chairs/tables awkward to eat at as low. Really nice staff. Please replace your fabric chairs, as they can't be cleaned and are dirty. Just use simple wooden chairs which can be cleaned!

Very crowded and didn't have semi skimmed milk only full fat. Great place for mums with babies.

Excellent little cafe with lots of vegan options. Reasonably priced. I had the smoky beans on toast with avocado. Rich, fruity, smoky beans and tasty flavoursome bread. Chai latte cake was ok.

Finally visited after it was recommended by a friend several times. I stayed for over an hour, chilling in a comfortable chair reading after I ate.

Definitely coming back for another toastie! We had the curry chickpea one. Pleasantly surprised by how delicious it tasted , albeit the service being very slow. £6.50. Well filled and three cute cornichons were on the side. This was the day where we realised that gherkins were pickled cucumbers. We’d like to know where the soft cushioned lean back chairs are from at the front , as they were sure cosy.

Gd tunes, gd staff, gd coffee, gd vibes. (Just don't ask for marmalade with your toastie...).

Lovely spot for a sunday brunch. The hot drink menu has a lot of unusual elements that are worth the try such as the Montreal fog. The food menu looks limited at first but that's before looking at the options near the counter and the seasonal dish. The staff and friendly and the place has a nice and charming vibe.

An absolutely lovely place! Has such a cute and cosy vibe, and the coffee and cake were delicious! Definitely one of my new favourite places in Bristol.

Not bad coffee and decent food. My toastie arrived after half hour. Coffee size was a bit small so little overpriced. Most of the menu choices are vegan. The cafe is always busy. The decoration vintage cute but the chairs are really old and lumpy.

I loved this place. It's cosy, the staffs is great, the food is delicious... And I loved the overall atmosphere of this cafe.

Lost and Grounded beers in the chiller, and totally moorish grilled cheese in the kitchen. I enjoy the decor in here; no-nonsense concrete and plants with super stylish odd mid-century pieces, and when it's raining outside the windows get all steam up makes me feel all cosy and warm. Naughty cakes on the counter for the sweet tooth.

Batch filter is always on point, staff are forever friendly.

hat brownie was definitely a perfect match with the coffee! We also loved the vibes here so much, with tons of greens and rattan & wooden furniture. It just make you feel like you are in nature!! The coffee - Flat White & Latte - were so nice with rich body and aroma. The brownie was not a very sweet one as it is made with peanut butter, and therefore a bit savory i will say, and we love it!!

Lovely cappuccino absolutely ridiculous mug no handle too hot to hold so had to waste a napkin to hold it.

Pros: Lovely decoration, cute crockery and food presentation, nice coffee, amazing pastries (vegan cinnamon roll was divine) Cons: Chairs are really lumpy and old and gave me bad backache. Coffee sizes are a bit small. Had a goats cheese and chutney toastie and it was OK but a bit sickly sweet.

A lovely coffee shop in a lovely part of Bristol. You are pretty spoilt for choice in terms of trendy coffee shops in Bedminster, however, you won't regret a visit here. Beautifully made coffee in lovely crockery, served in a chill environment, surrounded by amazing plants. Didn't eat, but saw some lovely looking pastries and nibbles.

Delicious cakes and a congenial, relaxed atmosphere. A good place to meet friends at the Eastern end of North St, with several tables outside which help in current circumstances. Rather weak tea though!

Great cafe, always have great baked goods. Love the crockery here that they serve their drinks and food in /on which they sometimes have on sale in batches. Staff are chatty and friendly, they do great coffee!

Has been my local favourite for a while but just had another great experience there so time for a review - the coffee is great, food is always delicious with good vegan options, and the staff are always lovely. Generally just a lovely atmosphere and gorgeous decor etc.

Horrifically slow service for what is a posh toasty. Must try harder! Side note they also ran out of fresh juice at 10:30 on a Sunday, it's a brunch place, Sunday brunch it should not be out of produce...

Lovely place,very cozy. The staff is really friendly and corteous and they have a good selection of food and drinks including vegan options and gluten free. Cakes are the best!

Really quiet and relaxed atmosphere to chill out, enjoyed the chai latte (though I wish it was a bit bigger) and the cake cover was pretty nice but the cake itself a bit dry. Staff really kind, go in if you looking for a place to chill out for a while.

Great coffee, ambience and food! The crumpets in particular are always really well thought out, and it takes so much self control not to buy all of the beautiful handmade crockery from Jericho Studio Pottery they sometimes have available.

Best cafe on North Street. Surprised by the comments about portion sizes - it is great value I haven't ever left Albatross hungry! The homemade beans on toast is awesome and the banana bread is mighty fine.

A lovely coffee place with such a cute interior! We haven’t tried any food but the coffee was good! Quite small for a latte though... We went on Sunday around 2pm and it was actually busy, all the tables were taken.

The Albatross has a lovely atmosphere. It's a shame that the food and drink is small enough to be considered a snack rather than a meal. They also cost far too much for how much you get and leaves me hungry and shocked at the prices.

Lovely atmosphere with small pots of coffee. Don't order the toasted banana bread and dip as you get one slice and a small pot for a fiver. Terrible value for money. We shan't be going again.

Had the worst coffee ever in here in a cup with no handle tasted scented and no crema on American first and last time in here
