Questo ristorante ci era consigliato da amici che abitano ad Edimburgo e devo dire che ha confermato la loro buona recensione. Il posto è centralissimo, si trova sulla Royal Mile e all’interno è molto carino. Il cibo è veramente di qualità e anche se per noi italiani i piatti sembrano costare tanto, loro usano mangiare piatti unici quindi una portata è sufficiente perché sono molto ricchi e ti saziano. Io ho preso uno sformatino con patate e salmone, che consiglio molto e il mio ragazzo un hamburger molto buono! Ciò che ha reso il nostro pranzo più piacevole è stata la cameriera che ha capito che non capivamo molto bene l’inglese ed è stata veramente molto gentile, disponibile e paziente. Ci ha pure scritto thank you con il cuore nello scontrino, che abbiamo conservato per ricordo! Abbiamo provato diversi ristoranti ad Edimburgo e dintorni, ma questo è stato decisamente il migliore e che ci porteremo nel cuore! Grazie davvero!

Sono stata a cena (alle 18) in questo meraviglioso locale/pub tipico scozzese. Atmosfera calda e accogliente, locale pulito. Dispone di una sala “upstair” nella quale è possibile mangiare. Noi abbiamo preso un antipasto, chicken wings di pollo, buonissimi (un po’ troppo piccanti) e un hamburger. Carne buonissima e prezzi abbordabili. Birra locale. Personale veloce e disponibile. Consiglio!!

I used to eat here a lot especially when friends visited from abroad. "Try the Haggis" - it was the number one seller on the menu and sometimes sold out. This week, we had friends visiting Edinburgh and Albanach being a good standard Scottish restaurant or so I thought, we took them there. Haggis, their best seller was not on the menu. It was a Greene King pub-chain menu. I ordered the burger, and as soon as I picked it up a puddle of grease started to form on the plate, because the chef obviously didn't bother to rest the burger (which any actual chef would know) before putting the burger together. Others in the group didn't finish. Prices, as for all Green King pubs were higher than the quality provided, so not value for money in any way, simply a tourist money grab - that's how I'd describe Albanach now. Service was great - can't fault it one bit, but food is below average and I won't be back.

My husband and I ate dinner at the Albanach and thoroughly enjoyed our burger meals and drinks but the highlight of our time here was the attentive and friendly service we received from our server, Teagan. She told us that she wanted our experience to be very good and she went above and beyond to make that happen. She really is a shining example of how friendly, sweet and dedicated the people of Edinburgh are. Everywhere we went, we met people like Teagan, who wanted us to have a good time and to leave happy. This has been a great holiday and a lot of it is because of the country and the amazing people here. We will be back.

We visited The Albanach on at least three occasions during a four night stay in Edinburgh. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff (especially Meks who went above and beyond) , and we loved the atmosphere. We had two very good pub meals here. We couldn't recommend it enough.

Stopped in for lunch. It hit the spot perfectly and stayed for more drinks than we should have 😁 hubby had the duck and I had the haggis. Delicious. Great wee place and so friendly 10/10 just what you need on a wet Scottish day. Bravo

Abbiamo cenato sul royal mile in questo tipico pub. Molto carino esteticamente, su due piani. Abbiamo assaggiato la steak and ale pie con il pure e la coscia d'anatra con patate arrosto e confettura. Tutto molto buono ed abbondante, peccato nel piatto originale dell'anatra mancasse l'uovo fritto sopra. Buon servizio e personale molto gentile, prezzinellamedia. Da consigliare

En Edimburgo para un concierto, necesitaba algo de comer y eligió el albanach ya que el menú se veía bien y también los precios. Muy amable y servicial, la comida era sabrosa y los alrededores eran cómodos, también lejos del bar muy concurrido que era bueno

Didn't even sample the food.Had booked on recommendations. Booked for festive menu as was the only option given on line. Arrived early table was ready only to be told we are not doing festive menu and half of the menu was unavailable. This was the rugby weekend but why take bookings when you can't fulfill them. Went elsewhere but somewhat spoiled our evening !

Nos detuvimos dos veces durante nuestra visita a Edimburgo. El Albananch es un acogedor pub del viejo mundo con una buena selección de cerveza y vino (y por supuesto whisky! ). Ambos tiempos fueron muy ocupados, pero el servicio era genial y los clientes muy amables. Somos una cena temprana una noche y la comida era deliciosa. (Mac y queso y pescado con patatas fritas). Este se convirtió en mi pub favorito para parar y tomar una pinta después de ver el sitio.

Entramos (fiesta de 4 ) sin reserva en una tarde de domingo muy ocupada y nos dijeron que había pocas posibilidades de sentarse, sin embargo, esperamos solo 10 minutos, tiempo suficiente para un pequeño trago de un poco de whisky fino, de los cuales tienen una excelente selección! La comida era maravillosa! Nuestro servidor, Madison, era absolutamente maravilloso con el servicio, así como su compatriota (cuyo nombre lamentablemente se ha escapado de mi memoria) hizo un excelente equipo. Mi Mac y queso, junto con una hamburguesa y tetas, y aros de cebolla, eran geniales! Volvería aquí y recomendaría!

Really good whisky selection! Gillie and Jay were really helpful and the cocktails we had were delicious. Food looked amazing too but sadly didn’t have time to try! Would definitely recommend when in Edinburgh as staff were super friendly:)

We were in this bar just before Xmas and it had went down hill from when we used to go there. We went in yesterday, what a difference! The lady behind the bar, who it transforms is the new Manager has certainly changed it around. It hàs a great atmosphere and the staff are so efficient, polite & friendly. An absolutely fabulous bar in the heart of Edinburgh where I was greeted with a warm welcome from the lady behind the bar (with red hair) who was chatty, engaging with a fantastic knowledge of the products available. A must visit!

We stopped by for a quick drink at lunchtime and ended up staying the day! Great pub, comfortable and welcoming. Got nicely busy so lots of people to talk to. Really friendly!

I mean, let's face it: everyone is super nice in Edinburgh, and I suspect in all Scotland, and the food is always good!! The traditional Scottish dishes are well done everywhere, and I have loved my stay here. This place in particular is a bit different as you have to order everything from the bar, pay for it, get your own drinks to the table and they will get the food for you. And it's as crowded as it gets! But the food is also as good as it can be!

This pub is conveniently located on the Golden Mile, Edinburgh. We enjoyed attentive service from Jenny and her colleagues. Highlights being the customised whisky flight, quality ales and a great atmosphere. Very good value for money.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel staff (the Motel One), and it was delicious. I would start off, however, that greeting guests for a 7:30pm seating with "we're out of such-and-such" is not a good way to start the meal. Also, their idea of "drenched in cheese" doesn't exactly match the reality. My hamburger was delicious, and it was obvious that the packed bar area indicated a very, very popular place for the locals. Yes, I would return.

TOURIST TRAP! Order at the bar, then find out what you’ve ordered is sold out. Then, they don’t refund your money. Very shady. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

In Edinburgh for The Tattoo and tried this pub for dinner. Busy pub, reasonable time for food but my dinner was disappointing. Had a burger which was very dry, one tiny piece of lettuce and had to pay £15.95 for it.

This is a great little bar, right on the Royal Mile. Fabulous range of Whisky and Gin. Great atmosphere and the Irish barman Kade is very friendly and entertaining.

We visited Albanach for a light lunch and drink while visiting the Edinburgh Festival. It was very busy and the staff were extremely stressed trying to keep everyone happy. They were very polite but too busy to exchange much conversation. The food was good but rather pricey.However, it was located in the centre of the activity so it was very popular.

We had planned to come here for a pre-dinner drink and appetizers. However we love it so much that we decided to stay for dinner. We had the circular table at the far back of the dining room and it was a wonderful view.
