First time eating Moroccan food and just wow!!! We were so glad we randomly found this place while visiting the city thanks to the reviews. Hence it’s my duty to confirm that it’s all true. Food and service were absolutely perfect. We were recommended to take the set menu with hot and cold appetisers plus main dishes which were above expectations. Food is just flavourful and melts in your mouth! Definitely coming back!

When I visited, there was only one person hosting, and he was incredibly friendly and a pleasure to interact with. He made my dining experience enjoyable, guiding me through the menu and helping me choose the best options for my first Moroccan meal. The restaurant itself is small and a bit shabby in places, but the interior decor gives off a truly authentic Moroccan vibe, which is equally reflected in the menu. Most of the dishes I had were on the sweeter side, and the tagine stew was a bit bland for my taste. However, the lamb was perfectly cooked—falling off the bone, and despite some fatty parts, it melted in the mouth without being chewy at all. The only downside, which might also be seen as a positive, was that the host’s high energy made me feel slightly rushed. I wasn’t there for even an hour, which raised some concerns about whether the food was freshly prepared or reheated. Despite the brief visit, it was a delightful experience overall. I'd still recommend it, especially for those looking to try Moroccan cuisine for the first time. It was a great introduction to the flavours and culture.

The food here was so lovely, the service was warm, personable and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday evening meal at Al Fassia and I especially enjoyed the tagine and Moroccan coffee! The restaurant is in a great location with parking and public transport nearby, there's a lovely space downstairs and upstairs, it's well spaced out but still feels intimate and charming. There are toilets upstairs, they're spacious and clean! But the star of the show as previously mentioned is the food, so fresh! I wish I had taken a picture of the tagine before I started eating it, but take a look at photos left by other reviewers. It's delivered to your table in the tagine, still sizzling hot. The food was all cooked within earshot and care was taken to ensure it was all piping hot. The service was extremely friendly and it was abundantly clear that there was a real passion for the food being served to us. I will absolutely be looking for any excuse to come back. The only thing I'd note which isn't their fault... we arrived at around 6pm on a Sunday and beyond one other table, nobody else was there during our meal. This is a crying shame because the food, service and prices are absolutely deserving of a full house every day of the week. If you're debating going here, please do come and try it. Merci mille fois !

We booked a table for four but there was only one other table occupied…. The bastilla (pastilla) was very good for a starter . We shared 2 between the four of us…. We could all have eaten more…. The Al Fassia couscous was good but a bit light on meat for the price, however, the lamb tagine was really tasty…. We had to ask for harrissa…. Which was necessary… and it arrived with a bowl of broth which was very welcome…. The mergas (merguez) were good…. We love Moroccan food as we have spent a lot of time there and have eaten couscous since living in Paris in 1974! Hence we are a little bit critical…. We shared the selection of desserts which were mainly biscuits and I thought a bit stale… which was a shame…. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and we will probably visit again…. Recommended if you like Moroccan food .

We needed somewhere to meet mid-way(ish) between Oxford and Coulsdon. Windsor seemed a good choice. Next, what to eat? I’m a dyed in the wool carnivore, my dining partner a vegan. We both enjoy food of the world and saw that Al Fassia had some good reviews so we thought we’d give it try. They did not disappoint! The food and the service was simply excellent. We both chose tagines; mine was lamb shank with prunes and apricots (TAGINE LAMB BELBARHOUK). The generous portion of succulent meat fell off the bone. My partner enjoyed the TAGINE D'ELAADAS, Lentil stew slow cooked with vegetables, garlic, mixed herbs and olive oil. Which took her no time at all. With a starter of EPINARD A L'AILE (Spinach cooked with olive oil, garlic, herbs, spices and preserved lemon, served with pitta bread) a couple beers and a glass of Pinot we couldn’t be happier. Service was also excellent; discreet but attentive, friendly without overfamiliarity. The restaurant itself gives a very warm traditional Moroccan feel with appropriate music to add a little food for the ears. I don’t do many reviews but this little gem absolutely requires it. Whilst the cost of the evening was a little more than I expected I begrudge not a penny and I felt I also got value for money. If you’re going to Windsor do not miss this fantastic restaurant.

Al Fassia ranks in my top 3 places to eat in Windsor. We have eaten there many times and never had a poor meal. Post Covid we returned last weekend and enjoyed it hugely. My wife and I both had the Sardine a La Sharmoula to start. Beautifully flavoured and a real treat. Other personal favourite options from the starter menu are Mergas Sausages or Harira Soup. For mains course, I went for Tagine Lamb Tfaia. For years I went for the Kebab Maghdour (cubes of lamb, tomato and parsley topped with a fresh egg) on the grounds that I would not enjoy sweet raisins etc. with meat. Then I tried it and it was a revelation so I again enjoyed stewed lamb in a tagine with sweet caramelised onions and raisins plus couscous. My wife had the Alfassia salad as a main course which is a variety of little dishes of cold starters in a meze or tapas style. This enabled her to comfortably finish off with a dessert of Moroccan homemade pastries and a Moroccan coffee. Wines by the glass are restricted to a limited range of house wines at £6:50 of good quality. We went for the excellent rose. I would recommend a bottle of the Moroccan red “Domaine de Sahari” if you go for wine by the bottle at an affordable £23.95. Service is not included in the initial bill and ours came to just above £80 including 4 glasses of wine. A very enjoyable afternoon.

DO NOT eat here!!! By far the worst Moroccan food I’ve ever had. We were so looking forward to trying the food here after visiting the website and looking through the menu but were thoroughly disappointed. It was an early Father’s Day treat but we wish we hadn’t bothered! The homemade Moroccan bread was stale, the lamb kebabs were bland and tasteless, my dad’s lamb tagine was also poor, he said it lacked flavour and was very disappointed. My mum had chicken kebabs but they looked like they weren’t cooked properly and the chips were lukewarm. The decor in the restaurant is tired and needs updating and the waiters weren’t friendly. Booked 2 months in advance as a birthday treat - Morocco is one of our favourite places on earth (having visited 4 or 5 times between us), Moroccan food absolutely up there as one of the best cuisines in the world. This restaurant had incredible reviews, so it all made sense. The dining room seemed rather bland and sterile - not much in the way of soft furnishings, wall decor or other little extras to give a North African feel - but everyone was very welcoming. Starters (bastilla and filo parcels) were both incredibly bland and almost tasteless, without the subtle flavours one would expect. Mains were equally uninspiring. A selection of vegetarian and seafood sides were all adequate, but none very inspiring. The Al Fassia Couscous (not served from a tagine, but plated up) was without question the worst couscous main I’d ever had in a speciality restaurant - which was as surprising as it was disappointing. Whilst the vegetables are supposed to be slow cooked and soft, these were cooked to a mush. The merguez sausages and (incredibly) even the chicken both had parts that were hard and crusty - similar to when the prior day’s food is re-heated for too long in a microwave. And the lamb was soft but lacking in any flavour at all. I left the whole dish. The owner/manager kindly took off the couscous from the bill, but the evening was one of great expectations, and bitter disappointment.

Good place, shame that all shareholders let a guy who has zero interest and experience in dealing with customers, who bullies the staff, really embarrassing! I would not recommend this place, especially if you have to deal with so called manager of the pub. Had a great night, but he interacted and told staff off for making a drink I asked for, when I interacted he became extremely rude, lesson for management- people come there to spend money not to be told off.

Great place with a cosy atmosphere! The food is great and it's a really great place to eat, especially after visiting the Windsor Castle

Went for an anniversary meal on our celebratory weekend away, it was very busy in there on a Saturday evening. We shared a bruschetta starter (£9), which was basically a flat bread with tomatoes on. I had a chicken tagine with prunes and apricots and my husband had chicken a la creme. Food was tasty, chicken was very tender, but it would have been nicer if it was served with a few vegetables instead of having to order as an extra, as it wasn't particularly cheap. Bill for the two of us, with a flat bread, bottle of water, glass of wine and glass of coke came to around £96, including the automatic 12% tip (which we don't really like added to the bill, we prefer to tip accordingly for good service ourselves). Slightly disappointed they didn't acknowledge that it was our 10th wedding anniversary, as I had made a note of this when booking.
