We just stopped in here for a coffee and ended up having pastries with our drinks. This restaurant looks a bit tired and old fashioned but the cakes we had more than made it worth the while to stop here and be served by a very personable young man. There is outside seating for the better weather. Don't be put off by the rather shabby interior, you'll get a nice drink and even better pastry.

It's not on the Trip Advisor map, but The Berkshire Pub & Tapas Cafe has amazing food! Went there yesterday for Sunday lunch. Food was made so beautifully, and the people who run it (both the Akiport cafe and Berkshire pub) are so kind and friendly. How did I not know about this place before?! Will be back for another meal very soon x

He estado aquí algunas veces.

Me encantó.

I’ve been coming to this café for years since I’ve moved into Oxford and let me tell you they’ve never let me down once in terms of food or service. Don’t go there and expect to be treated like you’re the queen because then it’s not the right place for you. It has a nice and cozy vibe to it, it’s a small place after all, the staff is good and friendly and the food is amazing (try the coxinhas or the bifana, they’re my favorites). I’m really happy I found this place, it’s like a home away from home.

I ate here on my last night in Oxford recently and I found the manager to be extremely friendly and welcoming. He even gave me one or two items to try on the house. This place is a no frills cafe which is largely frequented by the Portuguese community and I quite forgot that I was in Oxford for a while. Had I known about AkiPort before, I may well have popped in sooner.

I agree with Craig C. I went in to buy some takeaway items. 3 staff members looked at me for several minutes without coming to serve me and when someone finally came he was surly and unsmiling. I had such a bad vibe from him I did not buy all I had intended to. I paid quickly and left without thanking him.The food is good, shame the staff are so hostile.

This is a great little bar / cafe catering for Oxford's Portugese community. Serving up bottles of Superbock beer, a range or traditional portugese snacks, with friendly staff and locals, with tables and chairs out on the pavement. It's like we're on holiday every time we go... Try a salt cod bolhina, or a cheeses ham rissole. Definitely have a custard tart. Secret table football table down the alley round the back...

Visited Akiport yet again for a light lunch. Paninis were toasted just right, lovely and soft on the inside. All our various fillings were tasty. Hot drinks were very well presented, and the coffee fantastic. One of the other reviewers suggested that service was more friendly to Portuguese speakers ; that may be the case but I think it is a case of the server not speaking fluent English. We have always found the service to be friendly.

If you aren't Portuguese or Brazilian just avoid this place. The gentleman serving wasn't rude to me but seemed disinterested at best. I ordered bacon and sausage on a bab. The guy repeated the order back to me in English so I know he understood. Anyway after waiting almost fifteen minutes I was presented with some type of weird garlic beef type stuff on a roll with bacon and cheese. Not only that but I was charged £6.50 for the privilege. I don't know if I'm more annoyed with him for doing it or myself for paying it. What he served me would actually have been quite nice if it had been lunchtime and minus the bacon and cheese. As I said particularly frustrating given that he repeated the order back to me so I know he understood. During the fifteen minutes I was waiting I watched him interact with his Portuguese speaking regulars and he was warm and friendly. However with me I felt I was tolerated rather than welcomed. If you do happen to be a native Portuguese speaker then I'm sure it's a lovely place. All other nationalities should avoid this place like the plague!

Akiport seems to serve reliably excellent food! The paninis were really tasty ; for a change I tried the veg and Chorizo ; very nice! Coffee was great too, and as other reviewers have noted, slightly less expensive than the coffee shops closer in to town. Also genuinely friendly service. Very happy as always to visit!

Hinksey

After a long walk from our house we were ready for something to eat before visiting Hinksey Park, so stopped here for lunch. There had been a change since our last visit : the groceries and frozen meat and other products had disappeared, and two additional tables had been installed providing more seating. Turns out that this was perhaps a good idea because shortly after we arrived, the cafe went from empty to full in the space of about 10 minutes. Note sure if this is the case, but I suspect some of the groceries may be stocked in the convenience store next door, which is now clear owned by the cafe.Although we usually have pastel de nata, this time we tried another sweet treat, unfortunately I didn't get the name, but it was layers of pastry filled with a sweet cream : very delicious. All our paninis were very tasty and nicely presented. One thing to note : on Sunday they are stocked up with pastries as many customers visit for coffee and something sweet, which means not all ingredients for paninis are available. That said, the choice of ingredients didn't affect us and they were kind enough to unload some cake trays to get to the panini ingredients for us.Great value too, and worth a detour from the more established chains.

We've been coming here for a few years now, this little Cafe transports you to Portugal or Brazil. It is welcome change from the big international brands for coffee and a snack or a light meal, and is typically much better value. We don't drink alcohol here, but they are licensed. My cappuccino was delicious and artistically decorated ; the pastel de nata was really yummy, as it always is here.We often visit here when taking our daughter to Hinksey Park, it is convenient for eating in or getting a takeaway to sit in the park, we can recommend the paninis although we didn't have any on this particular visit.

Some quite unusual Portuguese and Brazilian pastries, very tasty. Coffee tastes good and made quickly. Good service with a smile. Option to eat in or sit outside. Feels very European.

This is one of my favourite places to have breakfast/lunch as the coffe is very good, the atmosphere is cosy & the food is super tasty! It's also good value for money as the food is of high quality yet really cheap. My favourite snack has to be their Coxinha (a tear shaped croquette filled with shredded chicken) and the Pastel de Nata (custard tarts). They also sell imported products (Latin American & Portugese) & even meat! It's just a lovely little place to stop by and re-charge or try something new.

Tropezamos con este café de carretera y fue bueno. Nada especial, pero está bien el día. El vehículo es la principal atracción y parecía muy limpio y brillante.

A real gem of a cafe. Excellent coffee and cakes and charming staff. I was welcomed in with a baby in buggy, found a suitable table and offered a glass of water with my coffee. I look forward to using the lovely outside terrace when it's better weather.

We had been trying out Breakfast locations in Oxford for a while . We went into O’Neills , it was very quiet 11am ish. We had a wonderful warm welcome from the Landlord Eamon who has been there for a very long time . We both opted for the Hearty Irish , big mistake !! It beat us, we couldn’t finish it . We went back again yesterday and ordered the small Irish breakfast. Everything was well cooked and hot, again we were very well looked after. Will definitely be going back.
