Akash Indian Takeaway in Blackburn with Darwen

We went for Christmas Day, me my husband and my three sons. It was fantastic, we thought you had to order off the Christmas menu but you didn’t, we had the full menu to choose from. We ordered the starter for four which was delicious and masala lamb chop which were out of this world. The mains, jalfrezi, chicken masala, prawn purée were fantastic. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, they made us feel really welcome, having a few jokes it was great. We will definitely be booking for next year. Thank you to all the staff at Akash you made our day really special.

I have previously rated this place highly but lately the takeway service is poor. A few weeks ago I ordered my Rogan Josh curry as usual which is spicy but bearable. The curry that came was inedible, it blew my head off. We rang them and they were quite rude and asked that we box the curry back up and retun it, maybe as proof we hadn't ate it, I'm not sure. Anyway the curry was replaced. This evening, not wanting to receive a lethal curry this time I asked for it as a medium. Yet again it came absolutely red hot and my mouth was on fire after a couple of mouthfuls. This time I couldn't be bothered complaining, I'll just take my business elsewhere. Very weird as when I have the same curry in their restaurant it's fine and comes as a medium. Won't be getting take out here again

Ordered takeaway last night on Christmas Eve. One hour later it came cold with over half the food missing.we phoned and they said they would call us back in 2 minutes but they didn't. An hour later we received the missing food with still my daughters scampi meal missing. No apologies or nothing. Won't be ordering again.

All I can say is that it was our first visit, all 4 of us had something different and all really enjoy it. Great fast service, very attentive, great food. Nothing else needed. Will be back soon,

Just had a fantastic takeaway the service from ordering to pickup up was fantastic the person on the phone and the gentleman that was there when picked up fantastic and the food was 2nd to none great polite service and value for money the food was terrific thank will be back thank you 👌👌 Neil & Sylvia

They very kindly made me a vegetable masala at my request to takeaway, however half way through my meal I bit into a small cube of chicken. I contacted Akash to let them know of their accident to basically be told that I am lying as there is no possible way, not even by accident that they are responsible, I sent a photograph of the offending chicken (at their request as I couldn’t return the meal as my children were in bed) to then be ignored. All I wanted was an apology and reassurance that it wouldn’t happen again. Been eating here for years, they obviously don’t care about their customers so I won’t be returning. They later replied to my Facebook review with a photograph of my order containing my personal phone number. They are also saying that I’ve contaminated it on my side as my partner ordered a chicken Masala, however Our meals were opened and consumed at different times (I explained this over the phone) as I was busy putting my children to bed. 100% impossible, 100% will not return, simply because they are too arrogant to acknowledge and apologise for their mistake. If your vegetarian eat here at your own risk.

We visited for my son’s 18th birthday as it is one of his favourite restaurants. At the time of booking I was asked to pay £5 per head deposit to secure our booking (early December) which seemed overkill, but I went up next day and paid it. Upon arriving the restaurant was empty and only got slightly busier during our entire visit. The food has always been good, but this time it was nothing special. Other than having to remind them I had paid a deposit when the bill arrived, the most annoying aspect of our visit was one of the staff strutting around in a t-shirt, baseball cap wearing his bling which smacks of “I am the boss, so I dont need to dress like the rest of my staff’! Not professional and not a good impression to customers. We won’t be returning for a long while.

Great curry as always and ready for collection on time. Lovely, polite staff and happy to give food recommendations. Nothing was too much trouble. Now my favourite curry house in Darwen, after recently moving here.

Hard to beat for service, attention and great food. Easy access for disabled customers and a wide selection of dishes including chefs specials all beautifully cooked.

We were visiting relatives in the area and, over the course of the week, ordered twice from Akash. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Jalfrezzi and it was perfect. Loved it. The breads and the rices are also good. What is also good is that you get great service with a smile. Recommended.

We had a lovely meal here this evening. The food was delicious with plenty of choice. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Prices reasonable.Will happily go here again.

Ordered chicken argebarge and chicken madras 2 spicy popadums nan and rice the argebarge was tasteless and the madras was that mild my 8 yrs old grandson had a couple of mouthfuls its now in the bin and im waiting for a delivery from india2u who i would reccomend highly for a takeaway Anaz all the way for us when eating out dont know why i thought of giving akash a try never again

Well established curry establishment. Visitors from miles around. Fabulous menu and lots to choose from. Staff go beyond their remit to make sure you enjoy your meal. Good value for money.
