Agatha's Fish Bar in Wellingborough

First visit to this takeaway and probably the last. The half pounder cheese burger looked OK but the actual meat patty was awful. Didn't taste like a burger and was actually 2 thin burgers which didn't taste like beef at all. On top of that waited nearly half an hour for the food. The onion rings were soggy and greasy. The chips were quite nice but that's about it

Fish and chips are okay, but I’ve asked for no tomato on my kebab as I’m allergic, and many times I’ve been given it anyway… you have to put on your own salt and vinegar with sachets, how wasteful and ridiculous is that?

Agatha and Dimitri have a really nice local fish & chip shop. The atmosphere is really welcoming, and the food is absolutely fantastic. It's the only fish & chip shop in Northamptonshire to feature in the national fish & chips guide and I certainly noticed the difference. Visited on a Tuesday evening in July for the first time. Will go again for sure.

Thought we would try Agatha’s Fish Bar take away as a treat for the family, disappointed with the food really. The kids sausage and chips was ok, standard but ok, however if you can’t get a sausage right then there’s something wrong. The kebab we ordered wasn’t nice, the meat was so thick, really not enjoyable. The chicken yeeros we also ordered wasn’t a yeeros at all, the chicken was dry, there was no onion or tomato inside which is what is was advertised to have in and there was no sign of the Tzatziki sauce which was also what it was meant to come with. We won’t be returning I’m afraid. Family treat ruined.

Chicken and Mushroom Pie was ok but the chips were the worst I have ever had. More like oven chips which you can cook at home.

Seriously fabulous quality Fish and chips. Coming from London over the years I have had fish and chips from supposedly the best and most famous fish and chip shops around. ( Liston grove, Poppies, Kennedys, Scotts, Golden Union etc..) to name but a few. I can honestly say that Agathas would give any one of these a run for there money any time and any day. Speaking to Michael the owner his knowledge and sourcing of his fish is second to none. He can even tell you where the best catches are for the best quality that he buys each time the stocks up. Unbelievable !!. You can get your food cooked to order which I do and they are always polite and accommodating. The restaurant is absolutely spotlessly clean. If this place was in London you would be queuing out the door and around the corner. Honestly !!.

Honestly we (family of 5) love this chip shop the food is excellent cooked fresh lovely fish good amount of chips chicken kebab to die for everything is just delicious and its clean. Highly recommend!! Dont take my word for it go see yourself it wont disappoint .

Fish & Chips is a wonderful treat. Nothing is worse for me than a soggy batter though. Agatha's has been nothing but accommodating to me when I have asked for a fry to order fish to ensure the crispiest batter and the fluffiest fish. For me, the best fried fish in Wellingborough.
