Excellent hotel that has been recently modernised and has a great feel about it. Great welcome upon checking in, all bar staff were excellent and up for a chat with impeccable service. Food was great and location also for getting anywhere in Canterbury. 100% would recommend!

Rooms are very outdated but very spacious. The weather was very hot and we had no air conditioning. We couldn't get it to cool down during the night through the small window. The breakfast was certainly okay. Not far from the city.

Great spot. But be aware this is just a chain. I hoped to find a cool English heritage house. You are better off to have breakfast elsewhere.

Very warm welcome at this old hotel on the outskirts of the city with ample parking onsite. Room was well set out, particularly loved the water pressure in the shower! As it is an old building, the floors are creaky and walls quite thin, meaning we could hear the people moving about and talking in the next room. Fortunately they weren't too loud late at night.

Excellent location, good service, and newly refurbished rooms. All this and plenty of parking in the extensive grounds.

I had battered fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The components were distinctly average and no better or worse than your average chippy. The portion of fish was probably the smallest I have ever been served and, despite the up market location, a rip off at £25. On the plus side, the staff were very pleasant.

Nice place but shame we weren’t allowed to sit there. As soon as we got in the guy said takeaway only. He was incredibly rude and told us it’s takeaway only many times whilst ordering as my kids sat down waiting for our drinks. He also told us the toilet was out of order which looking at other reviews, seems to be the case all the time! The drinks were ok, the lobster tails were not bad but service very poor. Wouldn’t recommend.

What a joke! It was the outdoor pods that first attracted us to this restaurant. We’d never eaten in a pod before so went in (at 5.45pm) and asked if we could have a table in a pod. NO was the answer. There’s a minimum of four people, a £20 surcharge PLUS a minimum spend of £160 to use the pods we were told!! I pointed out that the restaurant was empty and no one else was using the pods (let alone the restaurant). It didn’t matter we were not allowed to use them as there were only two of us. In utter disbelief in the arrogance of such a rule/system, especially on such a quiet night, we went to a nearby restaurant and spent £100 with them instead. Upon walking past, later that evening (after our meal elsewhere) the pods were still empty, as was the restaurant. I wonder why?
