I've unfortunately had to change my review on thos establishment. Although my family have enjoyed many meals here and have never fallen ill, I am extremely disappointed to find out it has a 1 star food hygiene rating. As a qualified and experienced chef I cant, in good conscience, leave a 5 star review here. If somebody decided to get food from After Five based on my review and ended up sick, or worse, from it, I would feel awful. If After Fives hygiene rating improves to an acceptable standard again then I would be more than happy to return as a customer. Until that time comes, I'm afraid a I wont be ordering from here again.

Ordered a Singapore fried rice, they used curry powder to make it hot, not good.

I rang at 5 to place an order. Was put on hold for 10 minutes. On loud speaker. It was only when I kept saying, hello hello, they answered. A simple special chow mien took another 5 minutes. My order was £6.80. I gave the girl £21.80. So a simple £15 change. She gave me £13,20 🤦‍♀️. I had a toddler with me and a delivery man asking me to move. Plus someone waiting. The food was vile. Soggy and mush. Never again. San san 💯

Ordered crispy chilly beef, it was not crispy at all just chewy, prawn crackers I don’t think was fresh not much of a crunch you would think you would get. Not ordering from here again

poor! Found the lady rude, no apology for the the long wait and then still didn’t get what we wanted originally. I understand being busy, but just say that and apologise. Extremely disappointed by a local take away.

Honestly I wouldn’t use them again. The food was tasteless and soon as the food came through the door I could smell the old cooking oil smell. Like old cooking fat. The smell is really strong ….. It just wasn’t the best quality of food for what you pay.

Actually a top star Chinese really enjoyed my meal as did mates are theres.

Disgusting service. Rude on the phone. Got my order wrong, so had to drive all the way back to change it. When I drove all the way back they wanted the chips to be brought back… had to then drive back home again to get the chips I didn’t want.

Good takeaway food. Lots of choices as usual. Also got some Thai dishes for a change of style.

Tasteless low quality 1st and last visit and I only live around the corner ordred chicken chow mein which the menu said was with vegatables and sauce what I got was noodles onion and chicken all if which were bone dry which is exactly how it went into the bin

Really impressed. Food ordered to be delivered at 6 and it arrived bang on time. Everything was delicious and piping hot the best Chinese I've had for a very long time.

Ignorant staff tbh I was ordering food and all as he wanted to tell me was they were closing in 30 minutes, I should of trusted my instinct and said ok thank you anyway,food was horrible I put it straight in the bin,

It's hit and miss. The salt and pepper chips are okay, but the service is awful. Having lived next to the place for over 5 years, we've ordered from here a dozen times... half of which we've had problems with. Hard/cold rice; orders just not showing up until I ring back after the delivery est, only to find they've messed up; cold food; meat full of fat. If it wasn't for the lack of choice, this place would have shut years ago. Don't bother, The Paragon is miles better.

Definitely don’t deserve my custom, my advice, think twice before you consider giving them yours!

Ordered Quorn and was sent Chicken! Customers service was despicable and the blame was put on me! Sorry for being a vegetarian! Your food tastes and smells musty and damp! The poor ratings you have already obviously, mean you are alreay on your way out!

Fantastic little chippy, lovely staff and great food. Only opens after 5.

Slow delivery time, undercooked starters, pityful portion size for the duck in plum sauce, nevermind stale and soggy chips. Will be looking elsewhere for our Chinese takeaway. Very disappointing.

Food ok meet is fatty can be cold and not much tasteorder three times and foid not turned up so ordering on line not good idea

I ordered the curry and soup with rice chips but I was not happy curry was water and not spicy too and the soup real mad about was not in with the rest of the of order and.... The staff need lot of training and listen more

Just not good, been a couple of times hoping that I caught them on a off day, but they are consistently poor.
