From what I’ve heard of the place, I think it’s under-rated. The place had a lovely atmosphere and the service was good. They would regularly come and ask if everything was fine and the food didn’t take too long. The food was cooked well. Each dish was full of flavour and the chips had lovely spices. Something as normal as fish and chips was tasting excellent here. Made very well.

I went for a staff social with a group of around 20 people (deposit was required to book). We had an amazing time. All the food was delicious and well presented. I particularly liked the dry ice smoke effect on the tables. We were served by Ismaeel who did a great job, despite us being a large group. I look forward to coming again!

I feel disrespectful while taking the order from this place. One of the staff members of this restaurant told me to stay outside while I went to take the order for delivery. Because I am Indian? All the restaurant was empty, but she still wanted me to stand outside. Worst restaurant ever, I will give ranking 0/100 just because of your staff behaviour.

We had a lovely meal here. The food was packed with flavour and nice and spicy. I had the jambalaya and my partner had the chicken burger. Service was was fast and efficient. Mocktails a bit pricey considering it’s juice but we really liked the range they had and the 3 we tried were delicious. Definitely be back!

Ismael and Tyreece were great hosts, friendly and very informative about the food choices on offer. They were both great at making sure to inform guests of the level of heat to be expected with whatever meal chosen - especially for those new to Africana who may not be familiar with the spice levels. They clearly know the menu very well and made great recommendations according to their expertise. The jambalaya was delicious!

Best food always love the music and the staff is so helpful with everything we been served by ismael and tyreece and they doing an amazing job will be back 👌

Amazing delicious food, very spacious. Definitely recommend. only downfall is different service each time i visited. Was given the dry ice for normal main orders on one visit and not the other.

Came from London and was looking for place to eat. Stopped by at Afrikana and can only say we received Great service from all the staff. Food was delicious and well cooked and full of flavour. Exceptional service as always and always on job

Food was delicious and came as described, however the service was absolutely appalling. They forgot my wife’s order, it took longer than reasonably expected to get the meal and kept us waiting on every part of the service including paying for the meal.

Had a lovely group meal at Afrikana Leicester few days ago. Ismael looked after our table and he did a great job, he really went above and beyond for us and was patient.

Food was excellent full of flavour. Service was ok could have been more attentive as we were only one of two tables in. Disappointed that they don’t serve alcohol, we ordered a mojito under the impression that it contained alcohol as directly underneath it had mocktails

A wonderful atmosphere with food and drink to match. The staff were brilliant and were eager to ensure the meal was to our satisfaction. Ismael was great and treated the children to a lolly chatting to them and ensuring they too had had a good time and enjoyed their meals. A great spot for a family orientated restaurant with great food and service.

I had a lovely experience at Afrikana, food and service was great, the staff were lovely and provided us with perfect service in particular Rumanah and Fariha, both did an amazing job will definitely visit again :))

Amazing food with a variety of flavors and excellent portion sizes. A little expensive but it is definitely worth it. A personal favorite is the ‘Salmon Cure’, but their ‘Jammin Jambalaya’ is really good as well, spiciest item on the menu though. Their side dishes are also delicious, ranging from Mac n Cheese to Plantain. Drinks are good, but very small quantity for the mocktails for the price charged. Dessert menu is limited.

Beautiful place, the music i so good and the food is so tasteful. I took my family to eat out for my graduation but we only made it around closing time. The staff (in particular Rumanam) was super nice and understanding. They didn’t rush us to finish quick and gave us fantastic service . Will deffo come back.

Rumanah and her team were really attentive and friendly. The service was quick but at the same time, you weren’t made to feel rushed. The food was delicious, the portions are really generous. Highly recommend.

Laid back, clean environment! Food is fresh, tasty and varied menu. Especially loved the prawns. Staff were absolutely wonderful catering for an excited party of 7. Thanks guys ( Rumanah and Toni) and would recommend Afrikana Leicester any day.

Food was faultless. Portions are on the small side so be prepared to spend a bit more. Decor is very nice. A bit let down was the unnecessarily loud music which makes conversation difficult. Avoid if you want to have a peaceful dinner or want to socialise whilst eating.

Food was incredible! My taste buds are so happy! Not a long wait at all so that was great. All the waiters were so polite. We were served by Mo Sayhan, my husband was asking a few questions about the different dishes and Mo was so patient talking him through it all. I had some questions about my son's allergy and so the manager came over, informed on how foods are prepared and answered all me questions too. The ambiance was so lovely, music was abit to loud I'd say, but other than that, 10/10!

I really loved this place. I took my mum here for her birthday and it was beyond perfect. The decor was beautiful with lovely wall murals. Our server Fariha, did an excellent job making us comfortable and feel at home. The food was very well done with explosive flavours, not too spicy but just enough. Just when we thought we were finished, Fariha was mindful enough to bring my mum a slice of cake with a candle and it really made her day. I am so glad we choose to come here. Thank you for the excellent food and service.

Good food from starter to mains till desserts. Beautiful ambience, lots of seating available. We were been served by a cheerful lad Ismael, very helpful and he recommend some dishes and that was great. I would recommend crispy okra and tacos in starter. Only 1 thing we didn't like was very loud music, that we couldn't here each other..

Been here maybe 6/7 times now. Each different meal I’ve had has been amazing. My favourite has to be the jambalaya. Our waitress Hanmi was also wonderful in her service !
