Afat's Grill in Chesterfield

Good service. Brilliant cooking. We had Albanian Liver followed by Cop Shish with wine.shared a backlava. All very tender and well flavoured.

Surprisingly, a great place in a small town. The food was literally beyond my expectations and the service was also excellent. Simple but spacious and clean restaurant serving halal food with such delicious taste. I must recommend it to all.

The place smells good when you go in. The service is good, the food is great and the bill is fine too. ~£30 a head for two inc a wine or two, a beer and two coffees. Two filling courses left no room for a third. Went by recommendation. Will go again ASAP and pass on the recommendations.

What an amazing place excellent food atmosphere is fantastic we went at the weekend a party of 14 celebrating a birthday service was excellent will definitely recommend this restaurant especially if you are celebrating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All I can say is wow! The food is amazing - big portions, well presented and so delicious. Service was speedy and attentive and the restaurant is lovely. Definitely book in advance because it does get busy. Well worth a return visit.

Loved it! Had the sea bass and salad, lovely light charcoal fish that's filling and tnagy with the lemon drizzled on it! Nice healthy food and will be having more from here, my wife had the mixed grill and the meat especially lamb was beautiful! Quick delivery and happy service! 😊 thankyou!

Brilliant food, Brilliant service, asked for something not on the menu and was very well accommodated for. Friendly staff, will be back again at some point in the not too distant future.

We called on an impromptu visit, as our dinner plans changed. My wife and myself shared a starter of spinach and feta parcels (not sure of its real name) the pastry that incased it was so light and tasty. Our main courses were as equally good in taste and execution. Would Thourghly recommend this restaurant.

Went with high expectations as friends have raved about it. Unfortunately, I found the food to be very bland. The lack of seasoning left me very disappointed.

Properly nice food! Very well cooked every single time I order. Probably the most consistently good Turkish food I’ve had! Mixed grill on rice is amazing, The Afats Special is also very very tasty and their Choban Salads are fantastic. I think they add Sumac (spice) which elevates the salad really well. Can’t wait to order again 👍🏼

Had the lamb Beyti, only got one small skewer of meat which was nice.but thought it was expensive £17 for only one skewer. The mixed grill looked so much better with three skewers and a lamb chop for £4 ish more. Wasn't offered any sauces but asked after hearing another being offered some. The sauces made the rice and salad , , unfortunately we were halfway through our meal .

Food was delicious, and quick service. Visited for lunch. All food was confirmed to be halal, although they do serve alcohol as well.

Always on the lookout for somewhere good to eat when visiting places, we liked the look of Afat's grill 😋. Good choice, prices are very reasonable and portions generous. There is so much that I couldn't finish it all. Thank goodness for takeaway containers Atmosphere and service 👌 loved it. On our list to visit again.

We order takeaway from here weekly and the food is amazing, have also dined in at the restaurant but the drinks are very expensive so prefer takeaway. The chicken krema with rice is my favourite main course and the backlava is beautiful too for desert. It can easily set you back £50-£60 for two main courses and two deserts so it would be good to have occasional offers for regular customers but I cannot complain at the outstanding quality of the food and it is consistently the same every time which is something very rare I have found with other restaurants.

Wow… some of the best Turkish food I’ve had in Sheffield/Chesterfield. Complimentary bread and olives which were so tasty. We asked for a starter selection of bread and dips and we were not disappointed. I opted for the Adana main which is a minced lamb kebab, with rice, bread and salad - it’s a big menu so if you’re stuck and you like Lamb.. go for it you won’t regret it! Attentive service, very friendly staff and the venue is good too. I will be back here. Worked out at £145 for four of us with starters, mains, a bottle of wine and a few beers so pretty good value.

What a great authentic Turkish restaurant there was six of us and all meals were fresh tasty and delicious highly recommend and I don’t normally review!!!

Food is absolutely amazing. The lower rating is really only due to the service (or lack of!). Had to keep going to the till to find the waiter. The waiters could really do with some more customer service skills - it's free and nice to smile and make your customers feel welcome.

Food was good, but got our orders wrong. Asked for a glass to go with a bottle of coke which never came. We asked twice. Took drinks order and drinks didn't come, when we asked again, they said what did you order, so had to start from scratch. Staff were pleasant and place appeared to be clean. Vegan order was incorrect so was sent back. The rest of our group finished our starters before it arrived.

A great little restaurant. We turned up no knowing what to expect and were nicely surprised. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and intimate at the same time. This was reinforced as there were at least two families in celebrating birthdays. I won't spoil what happens but birthdays are celebrated! The food was great, lots of fresh produce in the veg and salad and the lamb was great too. The mains are big so be prepared. All in all and good experience and reasonable prices so I will definitely be going again

Travelled quite far to visit this restaurant, much needed as missed breakfast so went for starters as well as the main. All food came very fresh and we'll prepared. Decent portion sizes and for the quality of the food very well priced. O like the restaurant playing authentic music to give the Turkish atmosphere. Parking out front along the street also. Choose pide for starter which came quite quickly and the bread was light and not gummy. Meat tasted fresh too. The iskender kebab was very tasty and the meat was full of flavour not always the case with Turkish restaurants.

Possibly the best place to eat in Chesterfield! I've been visiting Afat's for about 3 years now and I have to say the food is absolutely superb. Recently they have upgraded the chairs and other decor and it has really polished off the whole experience. Staff are great opening hours are very handy and location is good too. I can't recommend this place enough!

A very warm welcome, but little interaction after that. Not a great deal of atmosphere, but it was a Tuesday and the place was quite empty. We will eat there again, but maybe not on a Tuesday!

Usually this is my favourite place to order take away from have also eaten in at the restaurant in the past. Quite expensive but you get what you pay for and I’ve always really enjoyed it until last night it came early which I didn’t mind but it was cold the lamb was dry and tough as old boots the chips were anaemic and soggy the salad was going brown so the majority of it ended up in the bin. Really disappointed this time round.

Wow what an absolute gem this spot is. Mr. Afat took care of us as if we were sitting in his dining room at home. The food was the star of the show. Incredible flavor. They use a proper charcoal grill, and you can taste the difference. Big portions, very reasonably priced, good wine list. I simply can't recommend Afat's strongly enough. Will be back as soon as possible, what a find!

we had a great experience here. Service was friendly and attentive, food is tasty and fresh and the portion is quite big. They also gave a free basket of bread on arrival which is nice. the restaurant is reasonably priced. The only thing I didn’t like is the menu as it looked quite old and weary which doesn’t make it very nice to touch and read. Other than that it was an overall good experience.

The food was good. The service we received was very poor. The staff are not organised. We gave our order for drinks and food after waiting a while for a waiter to come. After a while, we asked for the drinks and mentioned wine. That arrived but not the soft drinks. Then the food arrived. we asked for the soft drinks again, then again. Eventually, towards the end of the meal, we asked again this time they arrived. The place was busy, but the service needs to improve.

I've spent my most of time in Turkey until I moved to UK. I never had lamb ribs like this in UK. It is superior, premium, mental Hard to believe but not less but better than the local taste you will experience in Turkey. Comforting and friendly luxury atmosphere... Lunchtime delight. We had a great time eating out at Afat's Restaurant. The food was incredible, the service was discrete, friendly and professional. I had the Afat"s Grill which was for me an excellent choice, as each mouthful (and there were plenty of mouthfuls) was a delight. I will not need to eat for a week. Try the Ottoman coffee for a sweet treat if you are struggling (like I was), to eat a dessert. All I can say to the staff at Afat's Restaurant is thank you all for making our lunch so special.

The food was perfectly cooked, extremely tasty and well presented. A real shame then having booked a table we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. A victim of its own popularity it seems and greed from the owner overbooking tables. Little by way of an apology..... and a plate of humous and tzatsiki didn't really cut it. Won't be back.

The whole evening was great, food atmosphere, wine. The staff were lovely and helpful. If I were to have a moan it would be the napkins, bigger and better. But I'm looking forward to going again as there is a fantastic choice of food. J

Visited for the first time and totally agree with previous positive reviews. Service and food some of the best we've had recently. The Adana was very tasty and the Cop Shish had the most tender and succulent meat. Sadly, we were seated close to the door which has no porch or wind/temperature protection. It was -3 C outside... Also, due to the very fitting Turkish music being played at moderately high volume, the overall noise level rose steadily, as guests tried to have conversations. Regardless, we will be back to sample more of the menu, thank you.

One of our most favourite places to go on a date night. Although when you look at the menu it seems expensive, when you receive your plate it's full to overflowing. Not only do you get a lot for your money but it tastes so gorgeous you know you have your money's worth. It's so clean and relaxed with the fireplace TV playing. Well worth a visit.

First time at Afat's Grill , DELICIOUS!! looked appetising, tasted even better. I had a mixed platter of meats and a really tasty salad,with flat bread, equally tasty. Good spices,well cooked and such a plate full of food,I was stuffed ! My partner had chicken in a mushroom sauce, that came with rice . Again ,this was delicious,creamy sauce and I loved the chickpeas in the rice. Generous portions, staff were friendly,warm and welcoming, even though we were the only two there. Well worth a visit, highly recommend.
