Being busy on a Wednesday evening is a good sign of a great restaurant. Very friendly service and tasty food for starters, main and dessert, what more could you want.

Gorgeous food here, but I find it very expensive. In Greece we didn't pay those prices. It puts us off returning, which is a shame. The restaurant is very loud, music is very loud and when it is busy with lots of people shouting over it, it gets a bit much. This also stops me from returning. I like to relax when eating, and a noisy environment is not relaxing for me. Overall, if you're looking for authentic greek food, then this is a good place to try.

My sons 20th birthday, small intimate family party. Chose the Oddessey because we've dined there before for our wedding anniversary. The food is authentically greek, full of flavour and PDO produce. Be mindful with the starters as portions are very genorous. This is greek food so an exceillent selection of meat, fish and sea food dishes but also caters well to vegetarian and vegan tastes without compromising on quality. Again authentic greek branded alcoholic drinks, cocktails to shots. The ice cold Ouzo apperetiff was both cold and warming and very delicious. The staff were polite, helpful, informative and very welcoming. The atmosphere was again warm welcoming and quaint. The prices are competetive and reflect the quality of the food and the effort put in by the chef and serving staff. A pefect night to celebrate a family mile stone. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would enthusiastically endorse this venue for both an intimate dinner for two or a family celebration.

Visited last week with a group of friends. I think we irritated the waiter when we arrived as we had booked for six and unfortunately one of our party had a family emergency and had to cancel at short notice. I don't know much about Greek food, and as this was my first experience of eating in a Greek restaurant, I can't really comment on the authenticity of what was served, except to say the starter was nothing I couldn't have bought from the supermarket - unremarkable, and the moussaka I had for my main was pretty bland . However, having worked in the hospitality industry for many years I know a great deal about customer service. The gentleman who served us needs to recognise the difference between hospitality and hostility! I'm pretty sure that because of this negative review the response from the owner will be sarcastic and abusive - don't worry Odyssey, we won't be returning.

Had a lovely meal for our 35th anniversary the staff were attentive and helpful great tasting food and nothing was too much trouble will definitely be going back.

Had a lovely evening. I've been as a couple and with my family now. The food is beautiful and the staff are really friendly. My daughter has difficulty with many foods but they were flexible with the menu and even she gave them 5 stars! Thank you

Went to Odyssey today for our anniversary, the experience was 5star. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals,both the starters and main were excellent. We were both full ,and we were given a takeaway box for our dessert which we enjoyed at home. Looking forward to our next visit . I would highly recommend a visit to Odyssey. 2

Had a lovely meal here for Father's Day. Great service and really good quality food. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of Greek merlot. We will definitely be back to try some more dishes.

Visited this restaurant by chance tonight with a work colleague and wow what a wonderful experience. The menu is beautifully laid out with explanations of the dishes. Lovely atmosphere and for a Wednesday evening it was quite full. Anastasia and our server were very attentive and didn’t rush us. I don’t live locally but I most certainly recommend. When I’m next working in Chesterfield, I’ll be back!

After having a lovely starter of mushrooms, the main meal of lamb shank was so disappointing! So very small. It was the size of a chicken leg with no vegetables and no gravey. I had orded fries with this meal. And it should have been cooked in a red wine. The small amount of meat was nice but, after notifying them the server did not bring anything nor did she suggested anything. There were no beans with this meal as stated in the menu. With the price it was it is very poor. I was in a party of 6. We made the best of it. For the owner of this restaurant to say "wrong pub mate 🤣" is a disgrace.

My husband has left a poor reveiw of this place on it's own web page. The owner has made out that my husband got the wrong place. He did not. Be warned. If you make a negative coment the owner will belittle you. To the owner: if you laugh at your customer's then don't worry about returning client's.

Such a little gem of a place! amazing food, the staff are so friendly and the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. Almost feels like you're away, even down to serving the Mythos with a glass out of the freezer 😍

Tried this place on the off chance as a little treat. Been back several times now. The food is just incredible and the service is just as good. It’s a must try if you haven’t been. I’ve seen some say it’s a bit pricey, not for the quality of food you get. Delicious!!!!

First time there - The place was very cosy and had an authentic Greek vibe. (Was perfect for our date night) The waiter was warm and friendly, gave us advice on what to try, and made some excellent suggestions. The food was gorgeous, no complaints at all. 100% recommend. Its not crazy expensive but it's not cheap either. 2 starters, dip with pita, 2 mains, 1 cocktail, 1 gin, and 2 beers - £107 x

One of the best restaurants for miles. Had the fresh crisps with tzatziki for a starter, then the chicken pitta gyros for a main. Absolutely delicious, portion sizes very good and service also very good. Greek decoration inside and very clean. Will definitely be back again soon.

Great night out, would definitely go back

Just back from our first ever visit. Well prepared food, reminded me of times I have holidayed and worked in Greece. Noisy table of 10 people with screeching small child nearby ( nothing the restaurant owners could do about that) slightly distracted from a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely return. Maybe later in the evening next time. I wonder if having either traditional music louder or more relaxed staff / server interaction- it was a little “stiff” and stand off ish- maybe a few more small lights and a bit more banter? Maybe it was just a bit early in the evening - we ate at 630. A few more of the small, dangling fairy lights that accompany the cool evening air at 11pm+ when eating out in the evening in Greece would add just a little extra something to the atmosphere ? But again - only our first visit, very nice food, well presented, authentic and a delight to find this in Chesterfield so close to home. Will definitely return. Thank you to the owners and staff for their effort to make our evening a nice one.

I can't fault this restaurant. Very nice food. The place is owned and run as a family business I think and the owners' passion for good food and service really shows. If you enjoy good quality, fresh tasting Greek food then go here. Pictured is the beef Moussaka.

Amazing food very good portions and a beautiful place. Lovely staff, even though the lady at the door is a bit off putting. Maybe it's a greek tradition to wait and look for customers. Otherwise Ioved it, would definitely visit again.

I took my wife for are 32nd wedding anniversary and from booking to leaving the staff was amazing, the food was so tasty having two starter main and a amazing dessert, the atmosphere was so relaxing , thank you to the staff we had a brilliant time

Second time here and we have been very impressed on both occasions. Lovely food, great service and nice atmosphere. My only comment would be maybe have the opportunity to leave a tip on card payment machine. We rarely carry cash anymore but would love to show appreciation to your staff.

Having spent a number of holidays on various Greek islands over the years, I know a thing or two about Greek food. If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine, give this place a miss. Apart from a very obnoxious and sarcastic waiter, the food was extremely bland. I always thought Moussaka was a dish made from lamb and contained aubergines, not made from beef with no aubergines! It was also served in a dish which led me to believe that it had been prepared in advance and stored in a fridge/freezer. The Meze was lacking a number of elements with a stingy single Dolmades (stuffed vine leaf) per person. The dips were also lacking in taste and may as well have been bought from a supermarket. A real disappointment

Visited in October whilst staying in chesterfield & the food, service & setting was exceptional. Some of the best Greek food I have had (having travelled a lot of Greece & it’s islands) - The service from the family that run it was second to none. A MUST if you are in chesterfield & are a fan of Greek cuisine!

Lovely food, great service and a nice atmosphere

An absolute gem of a restaurant, the food was excellent, great authentic menu. The staff were really friendly. We visited on a Sunday around 6.30pm, there was a family enjoying a meal together and the waiter seated us in a quieter area which was really thoughtful, though I have no objection to well behaved families enjoying themselves! We didn't feel rushed and enjoyed a 2 hour stay. We will definitely visit again.

Food was amazing, really recommend the halloumi as it was absolutely mouth water and made me realise how it’s really done. Service was excellent, free shot upon arrival of ouzo and swapped one due to a pregnancy so she wasn’t left out. The decor is all truly Greek. We will definitely be back

i went to this absolutely ridiculous overpriced restaurant but it was quality food well worth the money, it was a fantastic atmosphere almost like being at the dart with your mates and you see a 9 dart limbs when the food came. the service was amazing it was like having KDB playing me the ball absolutely limbsical

What a lovely place clean n brite in the ladies there was free hair spray, deodorant, tampons and the loo was clean n smelled nice. The staff were friendly n very helpful but not in your face. The food was delicious our friend loved the rabbit you don't get it everywhere. We had a lovely meal before we went to the Winding Wheel, the restaurants not far to walk so all in all we had a fabulous night out. Thanks for looking after us. We will definitely be back n recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Chesterfield thanks. Ann

Great location, near parking facility. Nice quiet area, welcoming area. The man allocated our seats as per booking. The lady who must be greek, knee her food knowledge and allergens. Very greek interior, Very cool bathroom, especially with all the technology, this is nice and calm and relaxing. May be group of 5s can be placed in the corner of the restaurant rather than in the middle. Still enough space for me in our area. Starters was CRISPs but homemade with feta cheese and dash of oregano. Nice fresh and crispy. It was light enough and yummy. The Chicken Gyro mmm reminded me of Rhodes Holiday. This really was so good you could taste the infusion of Tzatziki, cucumber, salad and the chicken and soft puffy bread. The fries was phenomenal, crispy yet fluffy with seasonings! I was asked about sauce but I declined, I was in a mood of trying things without condiments... but I'm asian so I dashed a little salt .. The other meal was a moussaka which was fabulous, made in layers but tasted good. I didn't consume any desserts because, well I was full!!! I will say the atmosphere and the lady really made it great !! I am sp happy to have travelled here.

On Sunday 16th July, 2023 we celebrated our 45th anniversary with our family. We could not have chosen a better venue. The food was out of this world, the service was attentive but not intrusive, three generations (youngest 5 years old) replete and content. Thank you for making our celebration so special.

Goodness what a great place! visited for a family birthday meal and it was amazing.. lots to choose from on the very Greek menu, I had lamb chops which were beautifully cooked and deliciously authentic. The deserts were fantastic it was a real treat and can thoroughly recommend 👌

Had meat feast was expecting something great as was quite pricey but was extremely disappointed with what came out , meat was dry rice was stodgy and what really got me it came out in less than 8 minutes so was obviously pre heated . We were starving at this point so ate what we was given, we did say it was dry and the owners took great offence to this fact we we’re always going to pay for the meal because we’d eaten it but we will not go back maybe chef was having a bad day but tbh if your paying good money you expect good food!

I was travelling to Sheffield for business and had a dinner here with my colleagues. It was a divine experience of the flavours of Greece. Every bite was a symphony of taste. In a modern deco but well authentic Greek setting.

We love Greece and Greek food so decided to go to the Odyssey for our wedding anniversary at the beginning of June. We booked for 6.00pm on a Friday to beat the crowds and when we arrived, we were pleased with the authentic decor and music. There were only a few tables with diners and did not think twice when we were shown to a small 2 seat table at the back corner of the main part of the restaurant. The servers were friendly, attentive and efficient and the food was excellent. We were really enjoying the evening until about half way through the meal, our enjoyment started to diminish rapidly. As the restaurant started to fill up we realised that the tables were very close to each other with a string of tables put together in a row directly adjacent to us and a 4 seat table to the other side. This left virtually no room to manoeuvre in and out of our seats and we had to disturb other diners in order to leave our table to go the loo. My wife has restricted mobility and has to walk with a stick due to arthritis in both knees and so this was very upsetting for her. When we did leave, I lifted our table and moved it forward in order to not disturb the diners at the back of me. All in all; great service and food marred by the poor seating plan so sadly we will not be returning. Ps I would not accept a comment from the manager to indicate that we should have highlighted my wife's disability as it was perfectly obvious that she was walking with a stick when we were shown to our table.
