Shipon Tandoori in Chesterfield

Food was unfortunately underwhelming & forgot our Saag Panneer side dish.

Chicken tikka masala had a really strange cheesy aftertaste, it also had one tinned mushroom in it some reason? When my partner also told them no veg, also the chicken in the curries, some of the pieces was hard and chewy and some pieces wasn’t too bad. The garlic rice had a pile of oil at the bottom of it too when I put it on my plate, tasted oily as well, the onion bhajis was good, naans, poppadoms, but unfortunately won’t be back

We have come back for a visit to Chesterfield 26 years after moving away and found the Shipon Tandoori still there and still run by the same nice people we had to try it again. And we were not disappointed - thank you for the wonderful chicken muglai which is still soo good.

Shipon does the best curry in Chesterfield, I return every week.

I have always love this place. The best by far!!! 🤗And we have tried a LOT of curries all over the country/world! Recently, Sham has been away, I have tried a few curries elsewhere, and had decided not to eat curries anymore, I just wasn't enjoying them... Now he's back, I decided to have another, and wow!!!!!! A MA ZING!!!! The taste!!!! 😋😋😋 it can't be beaten. After the floods on Friday, they bent over backwards to serve the public, and cooked by candlelight!!! 🤩👍🏻 Sham even remembers exactly what I like and suggests dishes to my taste or advises when I order something he knows will be too hot etc. Thanks Shipon!!!! The BEST!!!!! X

Tried Shipon for the first time this evening, and i'm glad I did. Definitely the best Indian takeaway I've had around chesterfield. The food quality was great and hot, and the price was great compared to others around. Will definitely be returning!

The only restaurant in chesterfield that knows what a chippatti is, at last I don't need to go all the way to burngreive Sheffield.

Did not enjoy food 2as waste of time and money

Having recently moved to Chesterfield I needed to find a decent Indian takeaway to become my regular. The quality of the service and food were second to none. Very polite and pleasant staff welcoming and the food was full of flavour, taste and the portion sizes were great to. I won’t be going anywhere else now I found this place, it’s the best, have a try and see for yourself.

Always make you feel welcome, the food is excellent, I couldn't recommend Shipon highly enough.

The meat dishes were good, but the veg dishes we had literally had no flavour. We also only got raita dip with our pickle tray, which we always leave since we don’t like it. Nice enough, but we’ll keep looking for our favourite Indian takeaway.

I drove long distance for many years and i have been too many Indian restaurants, and i have to say this is by far the best one i have ever tasted . the staff were always pleasant and the meals were amazing . thanks guys.

Coming here for many years and cannot fault the service or the food nothing is to much trouble.

Ate here for first time .wouldn't go here again my meal went straight in the bin. Curry sauce tastes heavily of tomato sauce. How they've achieved their ratings are beyond me .

Been using these for years and always recommended them to people, however recently I have not been able to eat their chicken korma. The chicken is awful, stringy stuff with an awful texture. Im not sure what they have done but i won't be ordering from them again sadly!

Curry was ok, but not particularly special or tasty. Prices very reasonable and portions ok, but truthfully if you’re in the Chatsworth road area and want an Indian takeaway head to Gulab instead.

Delicious vegetable curry, creamy with plenty of variety of vegetables. Gorgeous onion bhaji with garlic naan bread. Fantastic price for best quality. Oh and the staff are very friendly, don't bother going anywhere else!!!

I used to be a regular here every week for several years on my walk back home from a night out in town 30 years or so ago! I moved away from the area about 25 years ago and had to resort to other takeaways. I was back in the area on Friday and ordered a takeaway. Shansu remembered me the second I told him my name!! How does he do that? Apparently I was one of his very first customers when he started there. Food was excellent as always, and good value. I'm more adventurous in my curry tastes these days so don't normally have a korma, but tried some of my son's korma just to check it was still as good as it used to be - it is! Without doubt the best chicken korma anywhere. Excellent.
