Aerodrome Cafe in Chichester

Stopped in here on our way back from West Dean gardens Ordered 4 hot chocolates wasn’t overly concerned how long it took to make these drinks however when they arrived they were all very Luke warm & very tasteless couldn’t even taste the chocolate The very polite & pleasant young lad took them back to the counter only to be met with an older woman ( tall & blond ) who expressed out loud “ well I’m not doing them all again”) “Shocking customer service “ so she clearly only bothered to reheat 2 of them as only 2 returned hot & other 2 still like warm! Wish we had sent them back & refused to pay now! We won’t be returning! Sort your staff out! Esp the older staff member who should know better!

Very nice restaurant with very friendly staff. Today I had a bacon bap which was very tasty and fresh apple juice. And I had the tastiest coffee gluten cake which was one of the nicest cakes I’ve eaten. Thanks very much Goodwood

Always go here with my family, wanted to show my new neighbours where it was after having lunch at the Anker blu today, ordered a cup of tea £2.50 and two glasses of wine 🍷£17 pounds each for wine 🍷 that's £34 pound for two glasses 🙈£36.50 in total! Waited till we drank the wine time today was 2.30 and all 4 staff where sitting down and all eating a full lunch with drinks, I went over and asked them about the bill and they laughed out and said that's the price 🤔 my friends where horrified and said that's disgusting, dreadful 🫣 I was so inbarest!! £17 pound for a glass of white wine, one for my friend and 1 for me £34 pound? House wine it was, not champagne 🍾 I do believe someone has their hands in the till and I was the backlash off it, only spent £90 pounds last Fri on 4 family and grandson, PS my bill didn't even say wine on it!! The cup of tea ☕ came under breakfast £2.50, understandably! Can't believe how much money I have spent in here over the last 3 months 🤔 gutted definitely need to check starf? Normal time is 11 am I get there, definitely won't be going at 2.30pm again ruined the day 👎

Waited over 45 minutes for some simple food, order was taken incorrectly and ended up all eating at different times. Had to ask for cinnamon croissants (they were actually just twirls) 3 times.

This is a lovely spot in the middle of Goodwood. With a nice view of the planes came here for breakfast with a friend staff not really friendly ordered the most expensive breakfast sausage was a good quality. Apart from that it was the same as a breakfast should get a cheap backstreet café Mushrooms won’t cook properly you get a teaspoon of beans in a little pot literally a teaspoon bacon was so thin and tiny tomato not cooked. They bulk it up with two slices of white toast with cheap margarine and the toast wasn’t even butter to the edges, so all the edges were dry , nobody came over to check everything was okay. Nobody said goodbye thank you for your custom. Nothing considering Goodwood is such a big concern the people on the table next to us got up and left after eating. The go cleared the table but never sprayed it and cleaned it, so you could see crumbs all over it. There was a Servià on the floor and then a fresh couple came and sat at the table which was dirty Quite poor standards for Goodwood I don’t think I would eat here again. I can get a breakfast in a garden centre, cheaper and better quality and cooked better

Great spot for lunch with great view of the runaway. Good value and friendly service. Since our last visit there’s been a change, the “old” sandwiches were just too big! Lots of bread and presented “kebab” style on a skewer. The new ones are conventional but just as good and a bit more manageable…. Not complaining about the old ones but they were a bit of a challenge!

Who wouldnt want to eat looking out over the airfield watching a Spitfire take off while cars are being raced around the track behind you? The location is perfect whether you are a plane enthusiast or a petrol head. The Tornado breakfast is great, made made with quality ingredients and served piping hot. The service is friendly and efficient. The cafe is modern and clean with a lively atmosphere.

Debbie, Jane and their team went above and beyond to look after us for a special family celebration. It was our first visit with a group of 10 of us. We had a wonderful day. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend. Thank you all so much for making such a special day magical for us all.

Visited the cafe for breakfast today. Excellent service from the staff who were all brilliantly friendly! Service was lovely and quick and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend- even on a wet gloomy day like today the cafe was still the perfect spot for a bite to eat! 5/5

Goodwood par excellence.....FORGET IT !!!! Lets forget the modern. fresh building and views over the airfield/runway and concentrate on what we came here for, the food/drink and service. Sat at table waiting to order and for it to be cleaned. Three staff sat at table nearby having their lunch, no problem there but seated manageress? had to point us out to other staff member stood around looking completely disinterested and in a trance. Waitress came over and asked to take order completely ignoring the dirty, spilt drink, used napkin, crumb laden table from previous guests so had to ask her to clean it which she proceeded to do by spreading crumbs over seated guest rather than away from them and leaving table very wet. Wiped it dry myself with napkins. Ordered Cappucino (no chocolate sprinkles requested and acknowledged), tea, prawn sandwich and a chicken burger/chips. Coffee arrived with signatory chocolate Spitfire sprinkles on top (no coffee biscuit), tea in a mug with bag still in, a la greasy spoon cafe style. Prawn Marie Sandwich served skewered and untidy with very small lettuce/coleslaw garnish. Taste was bland. Burger - Freshly fried juicy breast in crumb, good portion of bacon, mayo and cheddar? cheese, lettuce in a bun. Tasted very good ! Chips - served in a very small metal bucket, so small that it contained 11 chips, not even a toddlers portion and quite insulting really. Greasy! No garnish served. Nobody bothered to ask if food/drink was OK after being served it. Waitress re-appeared and attempted to take plate containing food that was still being eaten. Advised her we were still eating. Came back 2 minutes later and tried again whilst still eating, Grrrr !!! Advised her to come back when the plate was empty!! Came back 5 mins later and sarcastically pointed at a tiny carrot crumb on the plate as if to say have you finally finished yet !!! On exiting the cafe area straight past the staff, no acknowledgement, no thank you for coming, nothing !! Food 3/5 Drinks 2/5 Setting 4/5 Value 2/5 Service 0/5 - anyone noting this will see that it's a very common theme here! Standards well n truly slipping at Goodwood. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere.

Tables not cleaned, untrained staff with no customer skills whatsoever. I don’t like to be critical but given it a try several times and the service and food gets worse every time I have visited. Won’t be back again which is a shame as it’s a lovely location

Well I ordered my food and a coffee & people came in after me and got served with there drinks and food 45 minutes later I was still waiting I did complain but by this time I felt it was to late so left very disappointed will not be going back

Time and time again we have come here to eat, and time and time again we have been disappointed. While the food we ate was tasty, it did not make up for the lousy service. It was clearly a very inefficient system - we sat down and were waiting for a while until anyone actually noticed that we were waiting to order. Last time this happened, we were waiting for about half an hour until one of us had to go up to order, and the response was that we would be attended to but we couldn't order at the front of the cafe, we had to wait until someone came to our table. The cheek! I hope they improve their management ASAP.

Popped in for a sandwich. Not greeted as we came in. Sat at an outside table for 10 minutes. Got up & got a menu. Served 15 minutes later. Only one of our 2 sandwiches came! Waited another 10 minutes for the other one. No one came with our bill, (they're usually very keen with the card machine)! Don't take cash, unless its the exact amount. Could quite have easily got up & walked out without paying, as we were taken so little notice of! Food was ok. If only the service was as nice as the surroundings! Won't be returning.

The staff could not have been more helpful!! They went above and beyond. One of our party has allergies. They were so attentive. They provided a bespoke option which catered for her perfectly.

This place has a great view with good food and really really nice staff the selection on offer is good and the cakes look amazing haven’t tried any yet though

Nice seating area indoor and out, but the service and food/drink were appalling! We ordered 2 x mocha's, 1 x hot chocolate and 3 x cinnamon croissants. Payment requested and made at the time of ordering (at the table). £14.50! A few minutes late we were brought our cinnamon croissants which were actually cinnamon swirls(!) and looked like they'be been bought from Sainsbury's on the way into work. As we'd ordered the pastries warm, we started eating as assumed the drinks would be along shortly. Almost 10 minutes later we chased up the drinks and a few minutes later they arrived. We left them for a few minutes to cool. Sadly this was unnecessary as we were able to down them in a few gulps. Not hot at all and the coffee in the mocha was so weak it was pretty much just a hot chocolate. There were SEVEN staff for about 15 patrons! The staff were not particularly friendly either. For an establishment linked to the name of "Goodwood" and the price I definitely expected better.

This is a very pleasant place to be on a sunny day. But I think you need to pick your time carefully. Lunchtime service for food was quite slow and the sandwiches were expensive for what they were and a tad too plentiful! I shall certainly return but perhaps try breakfast or an afternoon drink. In my opinion the food and service wasn’t of the standard of the other Goodwood outlets.

Great, fast service. Super fried breakfast with views of the air field and lovely outside seating. Spitfire flew past. Stunning modern building. The 'All Day Breakfast' finishes at 11.30 but we knew this in advance and got there at 11am!

Restaurant located overlooking grass runway of Goodwood home of motor racing. Practice day for upcoming event so if you love your cars and planes this is a great breakfast, lunch venue. Pub grub style food pretty good quality and generous portions. Service a little slow but worth the wait

My Wife and I regularly went to the Aerodrome Cafe and some times with friends, that was before the lockdown. Service was good, food was good and value for money, my personal preference was their chips, the best in the area, big, soft and fluffy....

I love everything about this place and is Chichester’s best hidden secret, friendly staff, exclusive feel and amazing views, never ever disappoints, don’t tell too many people about it though!
