OMG. This food is a privilege. Homemade authentic Ethiopian food. Vegan. Beautiful tasty fresh. We were four we washed down our feast with Ethiopian beer and nice wine available. The cake was amazingly delicious too Beautiful place Beautiful service A very special find

We ordered a takeaway to have for dinner because we already had lunch in Brixton Market. We ordered Soro Wat - chicken with berbere sauce, lentils and injera flat bread. The lady at the restaurant offered some down wat with injera bread. The food was simply amazing, beste Ethiopian food we ever had! The owners and the staff are also very nice and great with the customers. We will be back soon for more food. Yum

The best coffee I’ve ever ever had, said the customer next to us, and we agree 100%. Addis in Brixton serves delicious coffee, in a league of it’s own, far superior to any High Street chain. We had Beyaynetu vegan platter and vegan bean stew, all delicious, delivered with a friendly & welcoming smile. In addition, there’s great music & lovely decor featuring trad Ethiopian arts and crafts. A tiny cafe with a big heart.

We think we know coffee... However like most things in life without an understanding of the origins of a thing we know nothing. Addis in Brixton is a bootlick artisan coffee house with Roots of gold, if in Brixton with a love of the real thing "Do yourself a favor" A Commun Initiative recommendation.

Twas the night after halloween And all through my flat. Not a creature was stirring We were too ill for that. Our stomachs were empty Our heads, hives of pain. Thoughts of food were alluring, But movement a strain. Reluctantly we rose, Walked a mile to Brixton. Said my friend "eat some food, Get that hangover fixed son". To the market we staggered, Its corridors winding. My stomach a whirlpool The light of day blinding. Oh how the clientele yelled! What a cacophony of sound! I wished myself dead Until Addis I found. A tiny hole in the wall Full of colourful art A smiling owner sits me down His care warming my heart. I smell the sweet coffee Of Ethiopian hill Easing my drunken sorrow Better than any pill. But the owner, unsatisfied Flashed his wonderful smile "You boys look rather hungry We serve food, stay a while" The food fast arrived Their service unerring My taste buds were singing I found myself purring The food was a symphony A culinary expedition My hangover banished I lost all inhibition My moans were ecstatic, Nirvana achieved. A greater gift my palate, Had never received. I left Brixton that day A shaken, humbled fellow. My consciousness expanded I felt reborn, whole, and mellow. Five stars can't do justice To a place such as this Those who choose not to go- Have you no time for bliss?

The owner and staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome! We came mainly for the coffee which was amazing but also stayed for some traditional Ethiopian shiro which was also great!

Traditional decor which is very stylish. The owners are extremely hospitable. The meals are between £5 (small) - £8.(large). I got the £8 container which was a bit of everything. It was very disappointing (15 x 15 cm and 6 cm depth). It was mainly injera. I could only identify the potatoes as the rest was all mixed up. I thought they would all be separate (like the picture) so the next time I could choose exactly what I wanted. There is a stall at the side of Brixton recreation centre whose small is bigger than there large and all for £6. The vegetables are put in the container, the injera is wrapped separately and the food is to die for.
