Service was unacceptably slow and totally unsuitable as a venue for a business lunch. My party arrived at 12:30. They took our order 15 minutes later. 30 minutes later by 1:15 the food hadn’t arrived. I had to remind them. I suspect the order hadn’t been put through to the kitchen as it took a further 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Food turned up at 1:30, a whole hour after we arrived. We therefore had to eat quickly before needing to head back to the office. Totally unacceptable. Won’t be returning.

Arrived earlier than our booking time and sat in the bar area and ordered two glasses of the pink Prosecco. After a few minutes was told they didn’t have any. Already a limited menu, lots of options unavailable, was not advised of missing options when we first sat down. Change of servers mid meal, who didn’t ask if we would like anything else. Took a while to get their attention to ask for the bill. When finally they notice me the young lady stood on the stairs waited for me to ask for the bill across the restaurant. Overall very disappointing as this was a birthday treat for my dearest friend.

Service was very slow, food was nothing special or even decent. Spent money like I’m in a 5star restaurant but normal restaurants cook better food than them. Alcoholic drinks are not even made good. Had better drinks made for me in a pub. Would never go back there again. Oh and the seats are worn out. Terrible experience. Everything was bad. I don’t know how anybody would like this place especially knowing there is much better places out there.

We were warmly greeted and shown to a lovely table. Unfortunately that was the only real service that was offered. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived with 2-3 other tables. It quickly filled up. It took c. 20 minutes before someone asked of we wanted water. And then another 30 minutes for main courses to arrive. The food was pleasant, but query the portion sizes which were modest for price. Dessert took another 25 minutes to arrive and unfortunately one of our guests had to leave beforehand. The restaurant acknowledged this, and adjusted the bill accordingly. All in all a pleasant enough experience, and despite delays, we would return to give them another opportunity to redeem themselves.

Promoted heavily by OpenTable which was a surprise, the food was ok but the menu not exactly lavish nor focused, service was marginal with glasses left on the table, no water nor check-ins. It felt very much a restaurant attached to a hotel as an afterthought as opposed to the more unique ones that are seen elsewhere. Won't be coming back and won't be recommending.

Took clients. Couldn't get attention of waiting staff to get proper cutlery to serve out meal. Wine wasn't topped up at all throughout the meal it took ages to request further glasses at the end of the meal, no one asked if we wanted more. The Lampery Fish pie was tiny and very dry. No one came to ask if we wanted dessert or coffees. Would not go again

For a start the steak came out followed by the sides around 5 to 10 minutes later and then the remaining sides another five minutes after so the steaks were very cold by the time we actually eat at them. The staff were very good but let down by the kitchen. Although we had complimentary drinks at the end of the meal to apologise, a mouse ran through the centre of the restaurant around the time we decided to leave.

We attended the Lampery for an early dinner before seeing a theater show. We were staying at the hotel so just made sense to use the Hotels restaurant. The service was attentive & pleasant. The food was excellent & plentiful. We also used the Lampery for all inclusive breakfast which was also excellent. We will no doubt return for when staying at the hotel the next time.

I had the pleasure to dine at this restaurant over the weekend as recommended by a friend. Overall it has been a sensational experience. Food was delicious, and very well presented together with a very nice list of wines on the menu. Location curated with a beautifully decorated ceiling. This is a story of turning what could have been a bad experience into an excellent one. When we first arrived for breakfast, we sat for at least 10 minutes without anyone coming over to help us. We could see that the restaurant was understaffed. We got up and asked the manager, Robert, if someone could help us. He apologized and said that two servers had called in sick. He promptly and pleasantly took our order himself. The food came out quickly, again, delivered by Robert and it was excellent! Robert truly made this a 5-star experience all by his self. We so appreciated how he handled a tough situation that was not of his doing. He is a true professional that obviously takes pride in his level of service.

‘Exquisite’ it certainly is not. I came her partly because I need an early night and partly because there was a nice dessert on the menu online. Ordered fish and ‘chips with rosemary’. No rosemary, chips tasted like then been sitting around for some hours, batter soggy, and fish definitely not fresh. Service initially long face, but did perk up. Server asked how my meal was, and when I said the above there was no suggestion of reducing my bill. On to the yummy honey cheesecake… only the online menu is out of date! So no yummy dessert. Wish I’d walked to Flat Iron.

Dined here while on vacation. The restaurant itself is well decorated and kept. The menu was limited, not a good option for families. I had a salad, it was fresh, but small for an entree. Staff seemingly unmanaged, and for all that hospitality relies on foreign workers they need to be trained enough to understand customers and to be understood. One guest got so fed up trying to communicate with staff he settled for black coffee. Food was ordinary in the extreme, eggs either overcooked or baked in the microwave, toast was cheap white slice barely browned and not buttered. The smoked salmon was the star of the plate but only when measured against such a poor breakfast. A place to avoid.

10 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted anything more than water, and we had to then chase up the drinks. Food orders were finally taken 20 minutes later (but it wasn't overly busy) and the food arrived another 30 minutes later. Service was a shambles, certainly not able to cope with a City lunch and we only had one course!!! Food was average, Lampery Pie is basically mash potatoes with a couple of prawns at the bottom, and one side is presumably still in the kitchen somewhere...

The service really let's this place down. I don't know how long we waited for food, but after two hours one of our guests had to leave and mains still hadn't arrived (they still asked us to pay for his). When asked why food was taking so long we were told "the chef is cooking for everyone". The restaurant was about 20% full.

We finally asked about our food and they brought it out immediately, plates scorching hot so they were clearly just sitting on the expediting line while our server was clueless. Nice location, but for us honestly probably not the best for food / service. They seemed very confused that we weren't hotel guests just there for the buffet, stuck us in the back somewhere and forgot to bring one of our diners her cappuccino (we just gave up in the end!). So it was fine (and definitely nice to try somewhere different, as was the first time not having been before), but we wouldn't rush back, or particularly recommend to others.

Enjoyed our dinner tonight. The food and service were great. The server recommended items on the menu which turned out to be very delicious.

Our Christmas Menu to Apex Hotel London, The Lampery Restaurant at a fully pre paid cost of £180, was not submitted to the kitchen from the point of reservation which we had made with Charlotte, prior to our arrival at the hotel. On raising our first complaint with the waitress at The Lampery we were advised Charlotte had not submitted the order to the restaurant kitchen despite promising she had submitted our pre-paid order to the kitchen. In response, the waitress gave my husband and I one glass of wine which she referred to as "Bribery Drinks". The waitress expressed she was unsure if our menu choices were available in the kitchen given our order was not received in advance by the kitchen. The Lampery Restaurant Floor Manager was so NONE PRESENT/ no where to be seen at this point of failure!! The second complaint is where the second course was delivered to the table whilst we were still eating the first course. The waitress explanation for this was, she did not want the second course to go cold in the kitchen and to make a fresh second course would take too long. The third complaint is, the fire alarm test went off direectly from the fire alarm point which was located directy in the centre of the dining room where guests were eating, and this fire drill was without any pre-warning from the staff who set the alarm off right in front of our faces. The fourth complaint is, once the second course had been eaten, for what was a fully pre-paid 3 course Christmas meal, it actually became a 2 course meal. We were the only guests in the restaurant at this point and we were left abandoned in the restaurant by both the waiters and manager. We were waiting for the third and final pre-paid course which was desert, which after 40 minutes of waiting, never turned up! We therefore requested a waiter to check what had happened to our desert which had been pre-ordered. His response came back as "he did not know, he tried to ask", He then added, the desert ticket must have got lost". This is the fith complaint. La-Toya's response to explain this away was, the kitchen must be preparing for the dinner seating - its done about one hour in advance So that tells me, if you are still eating lunch at 17:00pm then you will be abandoned and may have to wait up to one hour for your desert. At which point, I demanded we spoke to the manager but imstead we were sent over some inexperienced and random person who had no presence at all!! I therefore sent him away. When the manager eventually surfaced, we gave each other eye contact but instead he tried the "distancing and delay tactic" and chose to start filling up wine glasses at a table for guests who hadn't even asked/ waved for his attention!! This is the sixth complaint of poor customer service/ experience. Eventually, when I secured the manager's attention (who gave us his name as being Michael), he started to interrupt my husband who was trying to explain the nature of our complaint. The manager claimed to know all about the complaint already, yet despite him claiming to know of our original complaint of the errors made with the restaurant booking - the manager was clearly unprepared, dismissive and unapologetic for his failure to look after us following the origimal complaint made with Charlotte who works within the Customer Experience team. The is the seventh poor outcome. Micheal the restaurant manager, rather than attempting to provide resolution, he attempted to provide his resume which he tried to convince us, he had been a manager at The Shard Restaurant - but he only demonstrated very poor management. The manager simply walked away saying he would do something as he would be aroumd until 04:00am. However, he said he did not know what he would do to rectify. He then digressed by repeatedly saying, "it's Christmas' - well who doesn't know that it's Christmas?? That's why we had a Christmas menu right in front of our noses on the dining table - but being Christmas is not the resolution to a customer complaint and shoddy restaurant management! The manager then used one of his waitresses La-Toya, to chase us down the reception area with the bill to pay for the lunch, but we brought that back to her and the managers attention based on the managers promise to sort out our complaint - at this point I despair!!! The Lampery restaurant waitresses and manager have no professionalism, they lack class and training is almost VOID. They are not qualified to carry out their jobs and it was a Micky Mouse performance! With ZERO recognition of the Customer - the table next to us also demanded to speak to the manager with a complaint about slow service and no water or drinks provided to his table to accompany the meal he was having with his family. The manager once again appeared to apply delay tactics, taking up to 20 minutes to attend to that table to address that complaint. All these failings have occurred under the UNWATCHFUL EYE, of Micheal The Lampery Restaurant Manager, though purportedly he had previously worked as Restaurant Manager for The Shard and Manchester United Football club. The poor performance of The Lampery Restaurant staff and is a direct reflection of the incompetent Restaurant Manager who gave his name as Micheal.

Wir wurden die ersten 25 min nicht beachtet und hatten noch keine Getränke bestellen können. Alle anderen Tische wurden bedient, bekamen ihre Getränke und teilweise schon ihre Vorspeise. Das empfanden wir als sehr unangenehm, da wir uns auf den Abend sehr gefreut hatten. Leider kamen dann zwei Gerichte (Sorbe und Hauptgang) fast gleichzeitig, so dass wir unser Sorbe nicht wirklich genießen konnten und eher zum Hauptgang gegangen sind. Zum Schluss brachte man uns die Rechnung und der Kaffee/ Tee war mit aufgeführt, obwohl diese im Menü mit enthalten waren. Die Rechnung wurde seitens des Lampert korrigiert. Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Ambiente hat uns ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Aber die Art und Weise, wie wir bedient wurden, haben wir als nicht gut empfunden. Wirklich sehr schade.

My wife and I looked forward to a Christmas Day meal as we were staying on the hotel, but the service was really poor, the pre-booked meal below average for £90 each, and the management response to our complaints disrespectful. Avoid this place like the plague

On arrival, the staff who eventually came over was wholly disinterested. After showing us to our table, it took several attempts to get the festive menu, the drinks menu then order drinks. The majority of the mains on the kids menu were unavailable. My wife and I were the only people having starters and were asked if we wanted these with everyone else’s mains. We agreed. It didn’t happen. We chased and were the mains were just coming. They didn’t for another 15 minutes. After the issue with the kids mains, I checked that the sundae on the kids dessert menu was available and was told it was. It turned out to be a few scoops of ice cream. I send it back. There were more staff than tables but getting anyone’s attention was very difficult. I ended up speaking to the manager who was very apologetic and removed service from the bill. What we had hoped to be a special pre-Christmas meal was impacted by a poor restaurant experience.

A smart and attractive restaurant, warm and welcoming despite the huge plate glass windows on a winter's evening. Good food and wine and pleasant staff, but service was surprisingly slow given that there were only a few other diners on this occasion. But definitely recommendable if you are staying at the Apex City hotel and don't want to go out.

We booked a table for a pre theatre lunch. After being seated we were not given a copy of the set menu so I had to ask for it. The starter of salt and pepper squid was nice. My main was fish and chips with rosemary fries and minted peas. When it came the fries had seen no rosemary nor had the peas seen any mint. My friend's sea bass came as a fillet in sauce, there were no sides available on the set menu so the waiter arranged for a sliver of spinach on her plate. As the service had been quite slow we had to cancel our dessert order to get to the theatre on time. We did complain to a waiter but no-one came to discuss our complaint. Quite a chilly environment to eat in, may be nicer in summer. Wish I'd checked the reviews before booking, would certainly not recommend this establishment.

Good business lunch. Had to choose a different time to what I ideally wanted, but when we arrived the place was empty. Why play games? Food really good. Service a little slow but cheerful chap. Restaurant very obviously part of a hotel, and toilets a long way from the restaurant. Would go back.

It was OK - the food was nice, although nothing special. Our main feedback was the extremely uncomfortable seats - I wonder if the management have ever tried to see in them for more then five minutes. Also that huge bright screen blaring out over the tables at one end of the restaurant - I couldn't sit facing that for more than a couple of minutes - bravely my wife took that seat. Average value for money for London.

Have been to this restaurant a number of times recently for business lunches. The food has always been really good. However the service has also been very slow, ordering food fine, its the wait for the food that takes ages. And on this occasion even slower. They did without asking add a 20% discount, but I'd rather pay full price and get a meal on time. Such a shame. If the service picks up then would easily get 5 starts. Please get the kitchen operating faster.

We booked this meal many weeks in advanced to kick of the festive season. havibg booked our table for 8pm (we arrived on time), there was no one to greet us upon arrival and we waited 20 mins to taken to our table and that was after we complained 3 times. Then waited another 15minutes for menus and the wine list never arrived so we had to order at the bar. The wait staff did not acknowledge us for most the time to even take our order. We ordered food at 8.50pm (table booked for 8pm), starters arrived at 9.30pm, and mains just after 10pm. the time we would usually be leaving any other restaurant. The only response we got from wait staff was its not fault we don't have staff. Technically it is your problem really, its December, its busy and if you can't manage the restaurant then don't take in so many people.

It doesn't look much from the outside but it's value all the way when you are in! I don't know what he'll do when the station is finished, there's a constant stream of blokes from there. Banging breakfast and excellent value, just what you want when you see what most hotels offer these days. Spot on caff.

Llegamos a un bien equipado, moderno restaurante con perforados bien presentado y personal, y antes de que pudiéramos sentar ofrecieron la opción de ir a su nueva bodega bar - ¡qué descubrimiento! Una gran manera de comenzar la noche con kir Royale y Gin martinis, cócteles sin alcohol para nuestro hijo miembro del partido, de camareros y entusiastas informados. Luego nos retiramos a nuestra mesa, pedimos comida y vino, y nos cuidaron admirablemente. La comida llegó - steak tartare, calamares, ensaladas y excepcionalmente bien hecho y delicioso. Los platos principales fueron logrados y bien juzgados, la chuleta bastante excepcional. Los dulces excelentes también, así como el café y el vino del desierto. Si no nos aventuramos en el bar y nos dieron bastante así que llevar el proyecto habría quizás no han sido de tales proporciones pero la calidad de toda la experiencia, la atención del personal, las bebidas antes de la cena y la atención al detalle lo hizo una gran noche!! Ahora para cambiar el nombre de Tripadvisor que soportar que el nuevo conjunto está reconocida adecuadamente. Huzzah.

Tried ringing to make a reservation for Friday evening and the phone just rang out with no answerphone. Turned up at the restaurant and it was all shuttered up with no notice indicating prolonged Xmas holidays or anything. Presumed closed for business.

They just had a refurbish! Truth is, this place was 5 stars already before the renovation, good food and coffee but most importantly- good vibes. I recommend the falafel wrap 👍🏻👍🏻
