Great little fish and chip restaurant with high quality and fresh ingredients. The fish and lobster scampi was very nice and the batter crispy. Chips were as expected and very nice. The draught beer was a little flat but perhaps that’s due to it not being open every day. Website should also say booking essential rather than preferred. We turned up without a booking and while we were served and they managed to accommodate us it did throw them a little.

Wonderful fresh fish and chips, great service and a fantastic location. If you are lucky enough to be here at a time when you can get here, do. You will not regret it! There is a full bar and great desserts as well as the phenomenal fish and chips.

Stopped by for lunch on Monday, had a delicious portion of lobster and chips which was perfect following on from a kayaking session! Super friendly staff and a lovely place to catch your breath, the brownies are also delicious!

I visited this place on one of thier supper evenings - as i was staying on St Marys and they were doing a supper night on the Wednesday - went into the shop to take the order and time for eating on St Marys and then spent the whole day on St Martins - normally they run a later boat for the event but as long as you tell someone you can spend the whole day there - it was a lovely evening and worth doing - offered drinks and desserts for those who wanted them. Booking is essential for this trip for them to cook the food

Lovely little restaurant, with tonnes of outdoor and indoor seating - outside was PACKED when we arrived so we sadly sat inside away from the sun. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU BOOK AHEAD, PREFERABLY WITH YOUR CHOICE OF MEAL. They literally go catch what they need that evening, and it is always busy because the kitchen is only open Tuesday and Friday evenings (i think), though the bar seems to be open every night. The decor is no-frills, feels almost like a US country diner. I had the lobster scampi which was delicious, others in our party had the fish (which I think was pollock). Both came in a lovely light batter, with excellent chips (better than your standard chip shop fare) and peas which I think were very lightly minted. There was barely a scrap left on any of our plates, and we went home feeling very full indeed! I was drinking Somersby cider, others had Korev lager (brewed in Cornwall), both were decent and on draft. They had plenty of other choices behind the bar too. St Martin's has come a long way since I first visited in 2007, with lots more choice of where to eat, all of it good quality though a little pricier than the mainland for obvious reasons. The people I came with (wife and in-laws) visited the island a LOT in the 80s and 90s, when tourists were fewer. They somewhat miss the island as it was then, but recognise how much better it is now, for tourists and locals alike. Adam's fish & chips is a key part of that, and a must-visit if you can.

Top rate fish and chips. I always think fish and chips can be divided into three basic categories - superb fish and chips where every bit get demolished and that will remain in your memory, decent fish and chips that does the job but doesn't have any 'wow this is amazing' qualities, and downright awful fish and chips (when it's bad, it's bad!). Adam's most definitely comes in the top tier! If you're going to St Martin's be sure to book ahead - they are only open on certain days and get booked days in advance. We were lucky, benefitting from a cancellation! The food is wonderful though. Delicious light batter, the freshest fish imaginable, great chips, and the deserts are really nice too. To go with all that, the service is really friendly, atmosphere is relaxed, the restaurant itself is lovely, and of course, it just happens to be on St Martin's, possibly the greatest place in the world. It you're going to St Martin's and you like fish and chips, you will love this place.

It's more about the venue than the actual fish and chips. Lovely undercover eating on the beautiful island of St Martins. Pretty average fish and chips, which wouldn't rate well on the main land. An opportunity to have a glass of wine (or tea) with the chips - which is nice.

I was quite disappointed with our night out here, the meal did not look or taste special. Which was a real shame because I think we were expecting something a bit more different. It wasn't bad, just not great. It wasn't helped by the fact no cornish cider was available not even the ubiquitous Rattler.

Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. Great spot too, within a small farm and just below another great food stop. The home grown potatoes and line caught fish were expertly cooked and not oily, lovely crispy batter on the fish too. Would go again and again...

We visited Adam's on the evening supper boat that goes to St Martin's from the quay at St Mary's twice weekly during the summer months. The food was great, reasonably priced and it is licensed so you can get a cold beer with your meal. There is an inside section and also plenty of seating outside under a canopy - very pleasant on a summer's evening. The short boat trip back to St Mary's as the sun set made for a perfect end to the evening.

This is a nice place to go for fish and chips, quality is pretty reasonable but it in not at the level of some award winning fish and chip shop I've been to (eg Arnside), normal Scilly prices (ie steep but reasonable considering location etc). This sound too negative it is not it is a nice good place, just not in my view five stars.

Best scampi I have ever had. Saying that though, given it was lobster that's not a surprise! Adam and Fe are fantastic hosts, and the fact Adam goes out fishing/catching lobsters definitely shows in the quality of the product. Chips were good too (which I believe they also grow the potatoes for), and really not that expensive. I would have been happy with 1/2 the amount for the £ we paid! Still managed to eat it all though, would have been criminal to let it go to waste

Virtually every local on the island eats here regularly (including me) and the majority of visitors to St Martin's eat here at least once during their holiday - some many times! The quality of food is excellent, presented as unpretentious and all using local ingredients. Well worth the walk, but remember to book in advance!
