This was the best Indian food that I’ve tasted- full credit to the chef- the experience was completely overshadowed by the worst service possible - shouting in the kitchen ( for a whole hour) - the owner watching YouTube - at the reception desk -it was like Faulty Towers! I've visited Abul's Spice regularly over the last few years. Always had an excellent Biryani, enjoyed talking with the friendly owner, commiserated about the difficulties during the pandemic. Sad to see it close. Then, pleased to see it had reopened - until I experienced the new owner's attitude and food. I phoned in with a takeaway order for myself and a friend and was told what my friend wanted was on the old menu. Changed order. Arrived to collect the order only to be told they no longer accept credit/debit cards (why couldn't they have told me on the phone?). Eventually manged to find a method of payment. Took the takeaway away, eager tpo eat what I expected to be good. However, vegetable biryani had few vegetables in it. Sauce was basically tomato puree. Went back to complain. Greeted by a very hostile attitude and a denial that I had any grounds to complain. Asked to speak with the owner and was told he would be there on Saturday and Sunday. Phoned on Sunday only to be told that the owner was the person I had previously spoken with when I went back to complain. It's not the same business! Be warned! The 'Best curry house' stuff refers to a previous owner. I know what a good biryani comprises and tastes like. There's is not that. I won't be returning.

This was our second visit to Abul's Spice. We were not over impressed the first time that we went, but we were told there is some inconsistency with the meals depending on who is doing the cooking, so we gave it another go. Sadly I have to say we were still not impressed. I had the chicken Jalfrezzi as a main meal and my wife had Chicken Dupiaza. The chicken in both meals was very, very dry and didn't appear to be fresh. The Chicken Tikka starter I had, has a consistency I had not experienced before, so not quite sure what was happening there. They do make a big advertising thing of being Curry House of the year in 2015, I think they may be basking in past glories. So not impressed I'm afraid, I have certainly had much better.

We ordered a takeaway by phone as we had the grandchildren in bed, it was quite a large order for 8 people. The food collected was definitely not entirely the same as that we had ordered, there was certainly a difference in the naan bread, however it was close enough not to complain about it. We had all ordered one or 2 dishes but everyone helped themselves from all the dishes, and most were delicious and only a few were disappointing. Having a bit of everything made it difficult to remember which were the best dishes, certainly the dahl dish was very watery and disappointing, but the lamb with spinach was my favourite. It was one of the few takeaways open on a Sunday. Generally we did not feel that it deserved the excellent rating given by some people, and it hovered between Good and Very Good!

Went here on a Thursday night so didn't expect it to be busy it wasn't at first, but it started to fill up later on and the atmosphere was good . The food was also good but the references to the best curry house in Wales 2015 need to come down as it was four years ago, food hygiene rating is 3 so I was a little concerned; however, the food was tasty and very hot (Temperature), so no issues with that. The biggest issue was the incorrect bill, which even when challenge was incorrect and didn't match the prices on the menu, my wife couldn't be bothered to challenge it again so we let it ride but felt that we had been ripped off and the waiter was a little underhand, so for that reason I have rated this low but generally the experience was good for a bog standard Thursday night out, when you cant be bothered to cook but not award winning. You can't dine out forever on a four year old award.

Went here at weekend it wasn't too busy - pictures on the wall of celebs, i thought wow were in for a treat! turns out the previous owner had left and had been taken over by someone else, the curry was of poor standard and i asked for pilaf rice and got something with coconut in it. the nan bread was cooked lovely as i asked i asked for plain yogurt to go with my curry and they sent me mint, no alcohol served, which is no disappointment but there is no competition in this small village so people are fooled into thinking this is a restaurant but it is just a take away standard curry place. waiting staff are good, but sorry this place is false so be warned!

Nevertheless, the meal was good value for money with the Garlic Chilli Chicken being had by two of us... portions not huge, but adequate (no need for doggy bag) - we had 3portions of rice so had 2 naan between us as an extra.... Maybe if they added poppadoms at the beginning I might let them get away with 'banquet'..... Take your own beer/wine always a winner in keeping cost down.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a local, so I thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did! It wasn't too busy for a Saturday evening, although the 'phone rang a lot for take-aways. I ordered my favourite, lamb jalfrezi, pilau rice along with garlic naan and peas paneer. When it arrived, I was very impressed with it. Unlike some Indian restaurants, it didn't come swimming in oil or runny sauce, it was visually appealing and tasted equally as good! The garlic bread was a flat bread type, very nicely cooked and very garlicy! The peas paneer was excellent and the rice light and fluffy. As they don't have a drinks licence, I had a Mango and lemonade drink - very refreshing and a nice change from alcohol! I am not surprised they have won "Best Indian restaurant in Wales" as the food stood head and shoulders above most Indian restaurants I have used. I hope they keep up the excellent standards for a long time to come! I cannot believe some of the negative comments I have read on here - but I suppose these things are somewhat subjective. All the best for the future!

Staying at a cottage nearby, we were recommended to Abdul's Spice. The takeaway we got was absolutely lovely. All the chicken was so tend and the dishes had great flavour. Lovely staff. Would definitely return if we are in the area again.

Very disappointed with our meal here. We felt the restaurant was overrated & staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. Service was slow.Sadly, Corwen is lacking in places to eat, but we would have done better to buy pastries from Gerrards & chips from the Kebab shop.

we popped in on our way back from North Wales for the Wednesday night banquet and were really dissappointed... Abul usually produces the most fabulous, fresh and aromatic curry....but not this time....our food tonight did not have a fresh spicy sauce and it was very oily. Come back Abul!.

My husband and I visited Abul's restaurant last week to celebrate both our birthdays. It was the second time we have eaten there and I must say we were not disappointed. The food is delicious and the service excellent. By far one of the best Indian meals we have eaten.

Hi great place to eat. Very good curry with lots of options from mild to hot. Will also increase heat if you like very hot. Always welcoming with helpful and nice staff. We love local and try to go at leat once a month more when we have visitors.

Just had my first take away. Very impressed. I've had rogan josh for 30 years from different places. This is in my top 5 . Booking a table for 6 now . And you can take your own drink witch is a bonus with the price of win in restaurants these day. Might be our regular Indian in future. 👍👍

Brilliant little Indian restaurant. We were in Rhyl for a short break and found this gem on Google. The reviews said it was good and they were not wrong. The service was pleasant, friendly, and quick. The food was awesome, and the price was very reasonable. If you like curries and you're here in Rhyl, you will not go wrong if you dine here.
