Abokado in Islington

I entered the shop and straight away there was a real lack of communication. There was one person before me in the queue. I ordered a coffee and a bacon and avocado bagel. That's when the wait started. The coffee came after around 2 minutes, so I thought good service! I was wrong. I waited a further 15 minutes for the the 3 people behind the till to apply avocado and bacon to a toasted bagel. So after a lengthy enquiry I finally received my bagel. At this point the coffee was cold, but atleast the bagel was a solid 5/10. Lacked seasoning.

No esperaba mucho de la comida para ser honesto, cuando vi el curry verde tailandés entrando al microondas, pero en realidad era realmente bueno. Estaba sabroso, de buena calidad y solo tenía 5 algo. Hay muchas opciones en el menú y en la nevera y parece ser una opción de restaurante bastante saludable en general. La decoración es colorida y luminosa. Lo recomendaría para un bocado rápido y barato para comer.

Delicioso. Divertido. Un personal cordial con mucha variedad y muchos ingredientes frescos y gratuitos que son gratis. Muy recomendable para una comida sabrosa para llevar que está llena. Lo único que diría es que las comidas calientes no están calientes, están a temperatura ambiente y que no hay cuchillos (a mi vista).

Muy decepcionado con mi comida, no era tan bueno tenía bola de masa hervida y fideos tazón contador caliente uno. Los fideos no eran tan buenos como una ensalada acuosa y dulce, no muy sabrosa, no estoy nada contenta de haber desperdiciado 6. 50 en esto, pude conseguir cualquier cosa por ese precio mejor para ir wasabi en su lugar. Lo único que hicieron fue bueno fue la papilla.

日本を出て4日目で日本食を(特に汁物を) 欲してました。店で食べるとロンドンはどこも高く、また食事の時間を削りながら観光する者にとは本当に嬉しい店です。買うときに食べてくか、持ち帰るか聞かれます。私の行った店には中と外に席がありました。近くの会社の人達が、持ち帰ってセントポールや公園などで食べてます。アボカドの付近には、同じ様なスタイルのお店がたくさんあります。写真の内容で13ポンドぐらいでした。

Great value (25% off after 5pm), and the food is always good. Although it’s not authentic Japanese, it’s close enough for me.

Abokado is located adjacent to Farringdon station. I love the concept of “vitality salads”. The Turmeric Energiser was delicious. It contained turmeric, cauliflower, kale, feta, pomegranate, seeds and nuts and beetroot. The service was great. I was helpfully and cheerfully directed to the cutlery and choice of dressings available. The decor is clean, bright and contemporary. There was a £1.20 uplift to eat in. There isn’t much seating - only 9 places.

Bought a sushi box for lunch. It was very nice. Fresh and for only £5.99. I was worried that it was not enough but it is more filling than it looks. I will definitely being returning. Recommended.

Comi uma salada vegetariana com arroz. A comida não parecia de todo fresca e os preços são bastante caros para a qualidade e quantidade servida. Pode-se comer dentro do restaurante ou levar para casa. Não gostei do facto de a comida e as bebidas serem servidas em taças plásticas e de os talheres serem plásticos também. Em termos ambientais não é de todo sustentável! De forma geral não me agradou. Fui almoçar. No entanto, porque as refeições não tinham a descriminação dos ingredientes, a empregada que me recebeu foi super rápida e simpática e de seguida pude saber os ingredientes que me causariam alergia.

Always pop in here if I didn’t have time to make breakfast myself. Staff are nice and friendly and banana and peanut butter bagel is only £1.99 with loads of filling.

Very pricey, got a breakfast sandwich here once and never again. It was genuinely awful. Have gotten sushi from the Farringdon branch before for lunch which was fine and the coffee admittedly was very nice. But they should up their game if they're going to sell hot food in the morning - it's not hard to make a decent bacon and egg sarny.

Oh dear, I really hate giving places bad reviews - and if you read my other reviews, you'll see I rarely do so. I try very hard to be overwhelmingly positive and give lots of high marks to some quite simple cafes and eateries that do what they do very well. But Abokado gives the impression that it's a tired and poorly-thought out chain with uncaring staff. The food is supposed to be mostly Japanese with some other pan-Asian dishes but it's all very unauthentic and there are more problems than that. I went to the Cowcross Street branch again today and won't go back. I tried the "Thai" red chicken curry and it was totally unauthentic. No hint of real Thai spices and a lot of very watery sauce. Worse still, it had a big handful of green soya beans dumped in it, as if the factory that makes it just puts them in everything because they're Asian. I've never seen soya beans in any Thai dish before and don't want them, not least because I'm very intolerant of soya. Which brings me to another point - I couldn't see lists of ingredients anywhere on the food or the shelves or elsewhere. Can't Abokado list the ingredients of their dishes or - even more important - highlight known allergens like soya and gluten etc? How hard is that? The other chains manage it without effort. I had a gluten-free chocolate brownie too, but it was dry and lacked much taste. Hopefully the sushi is better quality than the hot dishes. I think the assistant who served me was pleasant enough, but it was very hard to understand her over the loud blaring awful music and the other staff shouting over it at each other in Spanish. And that loud music made me just want to leave and not stay to eat. I won't go back.

Standard street food joint that adds nothing to the London lunch scene. Cheap ingredients and poor food. Avoid

Salmon and cream cheese bagel is top notch , so good ! Visited here the last two mornings as on training around the corner l, highly recommend.

I dropped by for lunch while visiting London. Had one of their sushi boxes and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. Will definitely visit again.

What more can you ask for. I Had a brill chicken & avacado bagel + coffee for a fiver....and a seat in the sun. You won't de disappointed.

Wow discovered this gem! The honest banana granola pot is the best have ever had and the bacon pretzel bun is good too and good quality drink would choose this over Starbucks any day for food defs

Increíble café latte utilizado para mi.. Muy sencillo el sabor. Tenía una rosca de atún.. Gran relación calidad-precio. Pequeña sucursal conveniente. Luminoso y aireado incluso en el clima caliente del verano. El personal hizo que los clientes se sientan bienvenidos

After 5pm, there is 25% off some items (sushi, soups, hot boxes & salads) which makes Abokado great value.The staff have always been really helpful and have made sure I was aware of this offer and the food was always tasty and fresh. It's a good place to pop in and grab something quick.

I stopped into this place not too optimistic I would find anything suitable to eat as I have celiace disease. To my surprise I was able to find several items including some nice fresh sushi with gluten free soy sauce and a chia cup. They also had some snack items which I could take with me which were gluten free. Was very happy with the freshness, quality and variety for someone with a difficult dietary restriction.

Outstanding branch of Abokado, which always serves great healthy food. The prices are particularly good when compared to similar places in London. Love it! 10/10

Paid £6 for a large tub of what was promised to be Teriyaki Chicken.It looked promising when i opened it, chicken smothered in teriyaki sauce piled high. But as soon as I got past the first 2cm layer, only plain rice remained, all the way down to the bottom of the tub. This meat/sauce to rice ratio is unacceptable.If I wanted to eat that much rice, I could've bought a bag and boiled it myself for less than £1.The one saving grace is that the small amount of Teriyaki chicken that was there was fairly tasty.

Great Sizzling Coconut Chicken soup. Full of Oriental flavors. The Mandarin and Mango tastes like flavoured water. Funky, funky tunes. Fast and friendly service. Thanks.

The cold food is okay here..The hot food however is very very bland! No taste at all. Dry and horrible.

I used to eat there on a regular basis. Last week i had sushi and instantly started feeling sick after finishing it. I talked to the manager, asking him if i could use the toilet as i didn't want to be sick in the middle of his dining room. He told me it wasn't his problem and told me to go look for a public toilet.When i mentioned the fact i was about to be sick because of food he sold me he just ignored me and carried on doing his thing. No questions about what i had eaten, no sorry, nothing...Shortly after, my girlfriend who had also had sushi (salmon) started feeling ill to. We both ended up running around looking for a toilet while they carried on selling their bad sushi...The worst is that i tried to complain to the head office and was completely ignored too.Abokado will never see a penny from me again. Eat there at your own risk.

Mainly a take out place although has seating for a few main offers are meals in boxes and to take home or eat on the move and have different prices for those who choose it. If you pay less for not eating it. The difference is generally 1 pound per product. They have wraps, sushi , salads, soups and most other things very well prepared. Generally the price is very reasonable and it is busy enough especially during lunch.

I would not rate this place very highly at all. I went to the New Cavendish location and had a hot chicken teriyaki rice pot which tasted far too sweet. I ate it anyway and a couple of hours I regretted it, my stomach was not too pleased. I will not eat here again, I think there are far better fast food Asian inspired options around London, quality-wise, such as Itsu and Wasabi, both of which are better quality and are more consistent across locations for the same price. They also strangely did not put a fork nor chopsticks in my takeaway bag, was I supposed to ask for those?

There are many eateries in this area, but Abodako is pretty good. The rice pot with chicken is of a good size and makes a tasty and filling lunch. The sushi for a fast food place is reasonable. The service is friendly. There is even a discount on the food after 5pm (if you are working late!). A nice place to get a quick bite.

I like the concept, good healthy food in interesting little pots and packages. The sushi and wraps are delicious, good quality and flavours. The staff are brilliant, really engaging and friendly, other chains [Pod and Eat take note] could learn a lot from them. For me the less successful area is their hot food. I find the noodle and rice selections a bit tasteless in comparison to say Pod and although I like the packaging, it's not the most practical particularly when they do insist on using big chunks of chicken - not ideal for eating with a fork/chopsticks perched at your desk ! But other than that really applaud the concept.

This was a gem of a find, I had never heard of it before but went in to give it a go for lunch and wasn't disappointed. The wraps are done one in a pack which means you can have two different fillings rather than one filling. I have had the duck with plumb sauce which was very delicious as well as the BBQ Chicken wrap and I have to say it is the best BBQ wrap I have ever had well worth a visit just for that. They did have some very delicious looking sushi which I am going to try next time there is lots to choose from and if you see one I recommend you visit.

Nice selection of choices for lunch. Their hot pot noodles are better than EAT, portions were of decent size and the price was ok for London. Friendly service from the staff, overall a pleasant experience.

O Abokado é mais ou menos no estilo da Pret a Manger, com várias opções de sanduíches, wraps, saladas, sushis, e possuem um preço bom. Também vendem sucos e cafés. UMa boa opção dentre as várias redes similares de Londres.O atendimento é muito bom também e as atendentes são bastante simpáticas.

The staff here are always friendly and efficient. I’m surprised they aren’t busier in the mornings - when both the Pret’s are rammed so you can always get served really quickly. They recognise customers and remember what coffee they have. Very nice lunch dishes such as thai chicken curry with rice and salad, teriyaki chicken & rice, and miso salmon salad. Really good bagels, and coffee is good too.

I regularly go here for my lunch as it is near work. Always a good selection and Gluten Free options.

I can speak with confidence, and on behalf of my team at work, in saying that the egg, bacon and roasted tomato breakfast bagel is second to none. Not only is it exceptionally tasty, it is extraordinarily good value at £1.99. Contrast that price with what you will pay for a bacon buttie from most breakast cafes and the choice is evident.I cannot stop going here in the morning and I would thoroughly recommend Abokado. I have also lunched here and been impressed with the selection of food as well as the polite and friendly staff. All in all, it's pretty darn good!

O resturante oferece as comidas em caixas e embalagens para levar pra casa e tem precos diferenciados para quem escolhe isso. Se paga menos por nao comer la. A diferenca e de geralmente 1 libra por produto. Eles tem wrapps, sushis, saladas, sopas e mais outras coisas muito bem preparadas. So tome cuidado com a refeicao com pimenta, pois as vezes e muito forte. O preco e bem acessivel e se economiza comendo la.

I usually go here for lunch at least once a week - lovely place with friendly staff and a great sushi selection. They also have hot pots with soups, noodles and other stuff. The unique thing about them is are there sushi wraps for those who want a lunch not quite as filling as a whole pre-packed sushi box.

There are 3 sushi places near here and they all seem to be really busy at lunch time. What I like about Abokado is the selection of sushi and the combinations. It's a shame they don't have sashimi with an edamame salad instead of a leaf salad but that's just me being fussy. The shop staff are very friendly and happy. There is a great selection of healthy rolls, soups, salads and you're told exactly what's in them. The good thing is you get your soy sauce and wasabi in the packet so that's not extra. For take away sushi that's prepacked it tastes pretty darn good

What a pleasant surprise to stumble upon this fast-yet-healthy food emporium in the heart of legal London. There are many of these throughout London; the one I visited was the High Holborn shop, near Gray’s Inn. Never having been to one of these shops before, I walked up to the counter to order (the menu and prices are on the wall). The woman behind the counter asked me what I wanted, then graciously did the self-serve for me: a pre-packaged noodle bowl kept warm but still fresh. The menu choices are varied and unique, not boring. They're also healthy and reasonably priced: sushi, wraps, soups, salads, noodle bowls, rice bowls, and powches™ (“hot hand-held happiness”). This shop is small and tables are few, but Londoners don’t seem shy about sharing a table. I definitely recommend Abokado for lunch, and think it would also be a good choice for a quick and healthy breakfast (bagels, porridge, and “breakfast bowls”) or snack. Located in a busy area of central London, this is a nice stand to stop into for a quick bite of the healthy. Specializing in wraps and soups, we had a coconut chicken soup that was a delicious way to spend 4quid. With trendy decor inside, this is a popular hangout among hipsters.

I have visited a number of Abokado's in Central London and none have dissapointed.Fantastic for the health concious, great nutritional information provided on all foods. A wide range of soups, rice and noodle dishes, salads, wholemeal wraps, sushi etc.Highly recommend the super salmon detox soup and the chicken teriyaki and brown rice bowl.Will not dissapoint.

This review is for the Abokado outpost at Euston Station. They're in the square outside so share the communal seating with all the other eateries. I've purchased various choices from Abokado, and it's always super fresh and fantastic value. The sushi beats hands down any other alternatives at Euston, and would give Yo a run for it's money! The salmon nigiri platter was delicious and very fresh. The cup of edamame for £1.99 is great value and good for snacking. They also sell a very good quality green tea. I wish all food-on-the-go was this good!

You must be blind not to have noticed Abokado by now. They are a tiny chain slowly expanding across London. Go there for healthy, fresh, low-GI, energy boosting salads, sushi, soups, wraps and snacks, AWESOME smoothies and - in my opinion - a really good cup of coffee. The guys at Cowcross Street (Farringdon) are just an amazing team and make my regular visits extra special. GOOOOO!
