The spicy potatoes were sooo much nicer when they weren’t ‘coated’, they’re stodgy now. Such a shame. Curry is good though.

Yummy biryani though the chicken pieces aren't tender. The chaat was good too. Will order again.

Grilled king prawns are good. Dip pots filled in a half way or less. Might to be served with a bit mor of vegetables. Anyway 5 star is fair enough.

We ordered two malabar biriyani but when we got it we did not fine it to be like malabar biriyani at all as it was like having pilau with kebab pieces inside.

I would not recommend this dish: Non Veg Set Meal 12.95 + Chicken Curry. The portion size of the chicken is really minimal.

I get food from this place more than any other. Always lovely. The highest quality we can get in our area.

This is not South Indian food. This tasted like Bangladeshi cuisine with added curry leaves! Not what I was expecting. I ordered lamb, the quality of the meat was very poor.

Excellent dum biryani and the dal is top notch too

The filling inside the masale dose was so spicy! I loved it so much but it was a tad too much even for someone who's grown up eating a lot of spicy food! Chutneys were awesome, so was the sambar. Very well flavoured :) The momos were a bit too oily for my liking, so were the onion bhajis. Great portion sizes though - good value for money.

Simply the best Indian takeaway around. The chilli paneer and and curried lamb are incredible. Miss the lamb and potato starter they used to have but the momo are delicious.

Not for the first time, they have delivered the wrong food. Interestingly, they replaced the most expensive dish with a really cheap dish. Fascinating how it is never the other way around!

The Paratha bread makes me come back to this place every time! 100% recommended

They misplaced my order and gave me two plain dosa instead of one plain and one podi dosa. Usually the Dosas are served with Sambar and Chutney. Here it arrived only with Chutney and they didn't mention that there will be no Sambar with the dosa. The taste was below average and I will not be ordering here again.

Good delivery and food was good however a bit too spicy for me. It did say Spicy Masala Dosa so that's my fault!

Don’t bother ordering from here unless you want your food to come after nearly 2 hours and lukewarm. I gave them a second try as I thought the first time that they just had a very busy day, but turns out they just have a very bad service. I called after an hour of waiting and my order hasn’t even being made yet

It's not a Kerala food.its just like Chinese food.first time only we got kerala chicken .the last 2Times this type of food.then why you are taking order for kerala dishes.the quantity also very less.fried rice is not tasty some smoky flavour

My favourite restaurant on Just-Eat, hands down! If this pandemic EVER ends, this is one habit I don’t intend to give up.

One of our favourites. Masala dosa never disappoints. Have ordered again and again over a couple of years and it's always amazing!

The food was very tasty. I think the portion of coconut chutney accompanying the dosa could be bigger. The food felt slightly adapted for the Western palate but was still enjoyable.

Interesting. Lighter than the Northern cuisine. Juicy lamb, nice vegetable and lentil curries.

Always exciting, always delivered quickly. The battle between Malabar Dum and Barber's Bazaar for who offers the best vegetarian curry in N8 remains fierce. Both are great.

Malabar Dum is great for vegetarians; the food is consistently delicious. I order for a mixed party, and not everyone can take food so spicy, so this might be helpful. For mild-ish people, the parippu curry and the masala dosa (with accompanying sambar) are super popular and if the odd chili appears, they are easy enough to fish out. For spicy people, the paneer kothu roti is something you cannot get anywhere else and it's amazing, if occasionally righteously hot.

Brilliant service and nice food

I am writing this review for their chicken biryani. Probably one of the best I have had. I have ordered it many times and it is consistently good every time. I wish their side dishes(kozhi porichathu and prawn 65)weren't so spicy. I am from Kerala and I know it is supposed to be a spicy dish but I think they have killed it with chili. I couldn't taste anything else other than the chili burning my tongue and throat, I would have returned it if I was at a restaurant. However, the chicken biryani, wow! They nail it every time.

Fab meal again; increasingly convinced this is the best vegetarian-friendly indian meal in this part of north london, and there's a lot of competition. Veers toward the spicy, but always interesting.

Our second Malabar Dum meal in a week. Chose completely different dishes and was still very good and not quite like anything we had tried before. Vegetarian dishes varied and full of unexpected twists. Quite spicy at times, but not brutally so. Still talking about the food 30 mins after we had washed up so either we were bored or this is really something else.

No curries or dal with the order. The food was too dry.

90+ minute delay. Cold food. Very poor customer service both from Malabar and Just Eat.

The prawn curry was ok but the dosa and biryani were not good, no effort no taste I feel like I wasted my money!

Delicious food. Ran a little late plus the starter delivered was wrong but it's all of such a high quality I don't mind. Will order again. The vegetable biryani is superb, as is the masala dosa.

Absolutely superb food. I can't rate it highly enough. Everything was spot on, excellent selection of vegetarian options, not a bad thing to say about any of the dishes. Get food from this place - it needs to succeed!

No update from the restaurant with the delayed or late delivery. Had to call and only be told "it will come". No apologies or telling customer estimation time. Whn food arrived, all food was cold.

Ordered the masala dosa, the spicy chutney was delicious as was the sambar, the potato filling was good but no need for peas. The biryani was overly fragrant but tasted ok, a bit oily. Would try again.

The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were big and it was more than enough for three people, loved the free poppadum and chutney. The parripu curry was fresh and light, the paneer butter curry was delicious and lemon rice was nice and fluffy, the nuts were an added delight.

My food not only is late, they told me that they never received the order. Then after checking the system they see that they totally missed my order. When asked if they will do anything to make this right, they were adamant about charging the full amount without any free accommodation. They told me there’s nothing they can do about it and unwilling to do anything extra.

Food was 1.5 hours later than original estimate, and did not include all items ordered.

Well worth the wait! Will definitely order again. My biriyani was very tasty as was the fish. Even the mint dip withe the popadoms was delicious!

Some food items were good. Others (chilli paneer especially) were too spicy & hot that we could hardly finish half and with that too our stomach's have got upset.

My food was almost an hour late and when it arrived it was cold and spilled everywhere so everything was covered in curry and lassi. I called the restaurant twice and they blamed the weather as did the driver when he eventually got here. I’m not quite sure why. Just Eat said the restaurant was busy so added an extra hour - despite the restaurant telling me directly it went out half an hour prior. I also asked for my curry to be made as un spicy as possible due to acid reflux (I’m 9 months pregnant) and it was ignored. Sadly won’t order from here again.

Due to wet ground the driver was late but he made the effort to look for my location.

Lovely interesting South Indian food.

GOOD - Delivered earlier than expected and diver was very polite. Malabar chicken curry and lamb pepper fry were very yummy and tasty. Vadai was very good too. Paratha roti was nice too. BAD - the masala dosa had been sliced in two and then packed into a plastic container so was soft and soggy when it arrived . But it came with accompaniments which were nice. Restaurant needs to rethink its packaging of this dish. Ordered Podi dosa and was sent plain dosa instead. Was expecting the spices inside so was disappointed. WORST dish was the vegetable korma - plenty of vegetables BUT the sauce was SO SWEET it tasted like a dessert! Couldn’t eat more than 2 mouthfuls and had to throw it away. Complete Waste of money. :((

This is the first time I am fully satisfied with the food ordered online ( Just eat). Excellent quality, taste is amazing and quantity is just right. The butter chicken and chicken biriyani are awesome. Would definitely order from here again.

The food was not from the restaurant I ordered it from which is unacceptable. Imagine ordering from Five Guys and having a McDonalds turn up! I'm not sure what is going on but I am going to make a fuss and find out. I am very unhappy.

Quality is very poor for South Indian cuisine. This is the same take away as Thali Thal. Majority of the dishes were completely drenched in tomato and onion gravy with not much paneer, or vegetables. Not worth the £40.

Its is more important to read the “note to restaurant” for the satff I mentioned them to make my both dishes spicy with green chillies, but none of them are spicy.

A good meal, delivered promptly. A minor hiccup is that a small pot of pickle had been inadequately packed and had opened in transit, soiling the rest of the contents. Would just suggest care over such things in the future. Will certainly order again.

I really loved this takeaway. I love South Indian cuisine personally and this restaurant delivered in quality. I like it Spicy and the order really hit the spot. My only gripe is this - The Malabar Paratha (or Parota as Malyalees call it) is expensive at £3.99 per Paratha and can put people off from ordering here. And it really is not expensive or difficult to make. For example, my other favourite takeaway, Koyla makes Fresh Naan breads at 99p. So when I order with them, I end up ordering 3-4 naans to accompany the curries ordered. But apart from the gripe mentioned, the place is great.

Delicious. Food is very tasty and a nice change from the usual Indian menu. We always enjoy our take away from Malabar Dum. My only gripe is the packaging is non recyclable plastic. It would be nice if all restaurants used sustainable packaging

The food was ok. It really wasn’t very South Indian. I got a very tasteless and soggy dosa with peas n nuts. I’m not sure what they were there. Food is less than average
