After a busy day, cooking a meal was not something I fancied doing so instead I fancied a takeaway. Choice then becomes which one? Abbeys had proven really tasty before so that was the choice. Keema naan (full of filling), fat chips and mushroom pilau as sundries. Tikka chicken rogan Josh and chilli chicken masala were the mains. Really quick service and hot to go. Great choice

Went for a family takeaway and got to say most of the food was amazing. Freshly cooked and very tasty. After a few visits though I've got to say one thing , the chips are terrible. Rubbery chewy horrible things . If they learn how to cook chips it would be 5 star

Absolutely beautiful food, amazing quality! We got 1 nan bab loaded with meat, 2 chicken masalas, 1 chicken madras and one wrap. The chicken was so tender cooked beautifully the sauces was lovely and tasty. Madras spicy but not to spicy were all u can taste is chilli Definitely recommend this curry shop ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you definitely be back

Ordered meal at 630 via ubereats stated 45-60 mins. Once order went through came up as 8.05 to 8.25... I followed up 835 to be there shortly arrived 9 missing a starter. Rang up again and following the conversation the owner hung up after me being advised 2hrs 30 is acceptable time to wait for a takeaway.

Delivered quickly, hot, ready to go. I tried chicken tikka mushroom meal, and husband went for the ‘new’ Teton chicken tikka. Both meals and sundries great.

Ordered food. Took 1 and a half hours to arrive at home and was luke warm at best. Spoke to staff and they 'will make a note and make sure its hot next time

Despite driving past Abbeys weekly it was the first time we’d given it a go. Tempted by the money off deal, we weren’t disappointed. Arrived piping hot and ready to eat. Chicken tikka, salad and dressing and the hard to pronounce Tetoi, chicken tikka, chips, keema mince naan bread (huge and tasty) and rice. All very nice and leftovers for another day.

What can I say about this, we 7sed to order from here years ago and gave it a miss due to the food going downhill, we normally go to balti masters but thought we we should try something different, wish we hadn't this is even worse than before, the curry arrived and was tasteless, I phoned and was surprised at the attitude of the the person who talked to me, to say the very least I will never be back, sort your customer service and food out it was disgusting please, please avoid

I was loathe to visit again after being verbally berated by the man who when serving me decided to answer the phone in the middle of my order. I did complain to be told I wasn’t welcome again. A while later, due to location to metro I went back.I was assured all I’d ordered was in the bad, no popadoms when I got home unfortunately and curry was very bland too. If you want to make a good name for yourself you need to provide a good service. I couldn’t possibly say that their intention was to rip me off for popadoms.

Después de usar el mismo tienda de curry durante años, empezó a ir cuesta abajo, así que decidimos hacer un cambio. Llevamos a la internet y decidimos tomar un punt en Abbey.No podría encontrar un menú en línea, así que llamé y le pregunté si había uno. Caballero que me contesto, fue muy amable y me dijo que enviarían un partido conductor con uno. 10 / 10 para el servicio de los clientes de inmediato.Llegó 10 minutos más tarde con menú dijo.Pedir comida y 30 minutos después llegó caliente. El conductor era muy agradable y educado,una vez nos quedamos atrapados en ella fue increíble, muy fresco y no fuera de la gran olla reglamento.Porciones eran enormes popadoms fresco, pan naan fresco y el gratis bhajis eran correctas. El pollo estaba húmeda y muy suculentos, divina no difícil en absoluto.2 curry es uno de arroz 5 popadoms (sólo ordenados 3), keema pan. 17 libras. 00.Sin duda volveremos y lo recomendaríamos sumamente basado en el servicio al cliente.

Ordered a meal for delivery and arrival was 30 mins or so. Polite delivery man and really enthusiastic. No complaints about the meal but a bit on the pricey side compared with more local firms.

Love the curry they make! Staff are friendly and would recommend it to others👍 Delivery is also great

Digo QUE SE MERECE LA CLASIFICACIÓN, PERO YO NO PODÍA CONTINUAR SIN PUTTNG ESTRELLA..Estoy absolutamente horrorizados!Normalmente comemos desde aquí bien, ordenados hoy y mal orden. Así que llamé para decir que la orden era equivocada y que me gritó diciendo que había dicho mal y ponen el teléfono abajo en mí. Me llamaron por este tiempo ha estado una hora y media y dijo que quería mi orden cambiamos como yo había pagado. Me dijeron que estaban enviando correctamente, y que nunca llegó y el resto de la comida.

My wife an I are now 67 & 70 years of age now but love our nights in on a Saturday night so we must have a curry coming from S/s that's the rule and may we say Abbeys never fail to impress us takeaways so brill prompt service too

Mi regla con cualquier restaurante de comida para llevar es que si no me defraudó a la entrega, calidad o gusto, hay muchos otros sitios para probar. Ya que con abadías durante más de tres años, nunca me sentí la necesidad de probar en otro sitio.

No puedo curries entregado así que no puedo comentar sobre entrega pero podemos decir que nunca he tenido una mala comida desde aquí.

Foods is always hot and tasty. Definitely the best take away curry we have had in South Shields . I especially like the starters and sometimes we just order a few of them and cut out the main meal as they are very generous in size . Normally very quick with delivery but on a weekend can sometimes take longer due to them being busier .

We have used abbeys for delivery for years now have Used others when I get new menus through door but they don't even come close to abbeys best chicken madras ever .

Have used Abbeys for some time and is always very good. Even when there was order mix-up, problem was sorted quickly and price reduced. Would recommend to everyone.

Always order from abbeys when we fancy a curry prompt delivery and pleasant delivery personnel and I find the chicken Madras the most wonderful curry I have tasted , I can't give this takeaway more than 5 stars Mmmmm! Thank you Ken Elliott
