What an absolute find. So pleased we didn’t stop along the main high street of Tewkesbury and instead headed towards the Abbey. The tea rooms are unique, and definitely worth the visit. Forget Costas/and all the run of the mill venues and support local. Our lunch was tasty, and our surroundings beautiful.

What a wonderful place! Spent most of the time just sat looking at everything in the walls hanging up. Amazing! We had the roast chicken, the meat was cooked to perfection and the vegetables also( best roasters ever!). We finished off with puddings I had the amazing banoffee pie and my wife had the Eaton mess which she called the best ever! Will be back very soon.

The tea rooms is a treat for the eye. I have no idea who is doing the dusting but they're doing a great job and must be very busy! There's a lovely little garden out the back. The food is fairly priced, a good amount and tasty. The desserts are delicious! Brilliant service from the owner's grandson. Will definitely visit again when we're next in the area.

This is such a lovely, quirky place. Unassuming from outside, when you step inside you are transported back in time with all the memorabilia and artefacts from decades past. Every time you look round you see something different! The food is delicious, we shared a chicken and stuffing baguette as we were eating out that evening, but wished we'd had one each as it was so yummy! We did indulge in a cake each though, lemon drizzle and a scone, which was the closest thing I've ever tasted to my mother's homemade scone, and trust me there's no greater compliment than that!

We were on a coach trip with GB tours staying at warners Holme Lacy, one of our trips out was to Tewksbury, where we only stayed for less than 2 hours not long enough really. We were told by the driver that we were booked in for a cream tea at the Abbey tea rooms which had opened specially for us. He dropped us of up the road and 24 of us went in, well what a surprise the owner was waiting to greet us the tables were all set with pots of tea and a large scone with separate butter, jam & clotted cream which was delicious, the place was lovely & warm. Think the whole party agreed we could have stayed there all day looking at all the memorabilia everywhere you could see even the coins stuck to the chairs and the outside toilets worth a visit. It is an amazing place well worth a visit and my husband and I have said we will return one day

What a lovely experience - like visiting the home of your favourite Great Auntie! Set in a gorgeous ancient building, and surrounded with curios from days gone by, this is a fun place to tarry awhile. We all thoroughly enjoyed our mighty generous portions of homemade roast beef dinner, with lashings of gravy - a real treat for a cold November Monday lunchtime! The meat was very tender and the food generously piled up high, and was incredible value too. We noticed that whatever folks ordered - it came in mighty generous portions. A lovely homely and quirky experience - we shall definitely call in again when we return.

I rate a tearoom by the tea and the scones and I have just enjoyed one of the nicest cream tea experiences I've ever eaten. It was a proper scone (i.e not at all dry, without the aftertaste of baking powder and with the absence of raisins!), huge and with generous portions of both jam and proper clotted cream. And the tea provided with it was also proper tea - lovely and strong without me having to beat the life out of a mediocre teabag. I can be a little fussy, but this particular cream tea was just perfect! And my daughter and I loved looking around at the paraphernalia on the walls and ceilings and garden - it was a real treasure trove and gave us plenty to talk about. She enjoyed her cheese toasty and milkshake too. We look forward to our next visit :D

The food was rather overpriced and not worth it at all. A couple came in after me and seemed to get served right away whilst i had been sitting around for about 10 minutes. There are definitely better cafe in the center of town that are more worth your time.

Went for a Sunday roast and it was the best roast I have eaten, everything was perfect. I went back later in the week for an afternoon tea with a selection of gorgeous cakes. Everything was topnotch, Couldnt fault it, The only thing I recomend is you book to come for a Sunday lunch as there were alot of people turned away because it was fully booked. This place is the best Restaraunt. I seriously recomend it.

Wasn't for me I felt claustrophobic as there seems to be very little space in there The cake was on the dry side and coffee was very strong but they can't please everyone I suppose

Lovely home cooked turkey dinner served in a kooky place with so much memorabilia that took a few of us back to our childhood. Friendly attentive staff in a cozy environment, perfect on a chilly Sunday afternoon 😊

My friends and I really fancied a Sunday roast and as a vegetarian and my other friend being gluten free were surprised such a quaint place could accommodate us but they did. We seemed to have hit the jackpot with a lovely hot well seasoned nut roast and beef, pork dinners. The desserts were really yummy too. The owner tried to accommodate my gluten free friend with an option he could make-up for her, but she was so full she could t eat another bite.

Best Indian food I've eaten, everything was gluten-free, and the flavours were fabulous. The staff were great too, we had a lovely experience here.

We were very excited to go to this restaurant as part of out stay at Buckland Manor Hotel (separate review for that experience). The ambience is quintessential Cotswolds charm. One is presented with wine lists and menus to peruse and they then take your order in one of the delightful lounges before ushering you into the beautiful dining room. A carpeted, elegant room which allows for a delightfully quiet dining experience - rare these days in many places with hard furnishings, loud (awful) music and raucous clientele. What unfolded however did not meet expectations. The menu was limited, consisting of 4 options for each of the 3 courses on offer. There were 4 of us so we sampled everything on offer. It was all excellent in terms of taste, BUT the food was tepid at best and the portion sizes ludicrously small - especially for the price. I thought perhaps we had ordered from the children’s menu, but these portions would not have been enough food to satisfy even a child. The service was also rather limited. There were only three other tables of guests and the 3 waiters were nowhere to be seen much of the time. This left us to pour our own drinks and at one point having to wait for a waiter to appear so we could get the remaining white wine served - they had not left the bottle near our table for us to help ourselves. The cheese course was supposed to feature 6 cheeses but only 5 were presented as the 6th had run out and no substitute was offered - the price didn’t change despite the depletion. This restaurant and chef may well be dreaming of a Michelin star but they need to meet some standard of excellence in value for money ad well as taste of food. This might be the first time you need to bring a doggy bag of food with you into the restaurant as you will definitely not have food left on your plate to warrant leaving with one.

Great little cafe, with some gluten free cakes too (and not just the usual brownie). Plenty of dairy alternatives available. Portions are generous and the stuff was friendly and welcoming. I would come back again.

Great food, great service, what more can I say. Well worth the drive from Cheltenham to eat at The Hobnails. See you again soon.
