Abbey Park Pavilion Café in Leicester

We were at the park and ordered 3 mocha to go.. they were delicious but what I paid for the amount we got, was abit pricy. By the time we visited, it was about 3pm in the afternoon and there was no seating. Seating looked abit hap hazard too. That actually suited me fine as there were a few dogs there by then. I do love dogs but not in my dining space. So if you are a dog owner, it's a great place to visit as it's dog friendly and even had bowls of water out for them which I did think was lovely 😊

it's a nice place with delicious coffee and snacks, friendly place for children, animals, the only point that subtracts is too short opening time from October.

Chilly day so decided to pop in with my dog, warm welcome ordered a mocha and 2 sausages for my dog, drank my mocha but didn't realise the lady had put the sausages in a little cardboard tub which I thought was brown sugar which she pointed out when I took my tray back so many apologies to the lady take my glasses next time.

Good location Seriously need to work on clearing tables Half the tables were empty and had empty cups, plates, leftover food and all over them..looked a mess Food was good

Haven't been in here since the 1970s. Nice place, food was nice , coffee was nice but a bit small and overpriced. Wheelchair and pushchair friendly, as there is a ramp. There are toilets, but as we didn't use them I can't comment on whether you can use them for wheelchair or parents with pushchairs. There are additional toilets which are for the disabled over the bridge, but you will need a RADAR key.

Loros café well worth a visit Abbey Park nice food and staff very clean

Love Abby Park my mother made camouflage nets upstairs in the tea room building in the war. The oval was a place where tanks were held covered in the nets. It's a great park and the bush topery is wonderful. It's a shame the park dosent cut back the vegitation along the river banks irs getting clogged with weeds and invasive plants. And the boating lake is no longer open what a shame kids loved the paddle boats. Still a nice park and a place to look at history as Henry the eighth right hand man lived there. Go see it for yourself. Remember the buildings are old so they don't meet everyone's needs there's toilets on both sides of the river. Take wet wipes as the council has cut staff cleaning to a minimum. The cafe staff some volenteers some just training. Nice play area past the pravillion and keep in your mind the pet area for small children and animal lovers. For something that dates back to the 1600s it's doing well.

Nice to pop in for a coffee when visiting the park

Nice bike ride from Watermead down to the park for a bacon roll and a coffee. The roll was too dry and cakey for my taste but it was OK it's nice to know the profits go to LOROS. I doubt the loos outside are owned or maintained by the cafe, so this is not a criticism of them, but I have seldom seen anything as disgusting ☹️ Surely with all the money that is spent on the park they could manage a clean toilet? Is this the impression of Leicester we want to leave to visitors?

We had a nice picnic in the park, grounds seen well maintained compared with a couple of years ago!

Nice area and always good for a walk around and the cafe has plenty of outdoor seating space, not been for a while but was very nice last time I went but every time I do go it’s always pleasant and friendly and run very well, food is good and am sure you can still buy duck food here, will have to go soon xxx

We visited the cafe on Wednesday, placed our order, coffee, 2 milkshakes and 3 slices of cake, it took one hour for us to get our order

Nipped in today with the kids, nice and busy,attentive staff,lovely selection of drinks and snacks. Not overly priced. Clean and well presented, also helping to raise funds for LOROS....

Run by volunteers to support Loris charity. Dog flapjacks and ice creams available as well as puppacinos!🐾

Apart from feeling like an inconvenience to the lady serving this is a lovely little cafe, with a good selection of food. Even better is that it is ran by Loros so your money is going to a good cause.

I really enjoyed popping in to Peppercorns Cafe after a leisurely walk through Abbey Park with Bobby 🐾 The cafe is dog friendly too. I usually have a hot chocolate and sit outside on the picnic benches. Due to the few spits and spots or rainy 🌧️ showers we decided it was best to sit in doors. Also decided to push the boat out on this occasion 😋 and we each had a cheese, ham and tomato 🍅 toasty. My friend had a coffee and I went for a luxury hot chocolate. With a sausage roll for Bobby 🐾. Always a polite pleasant and friendly welcome by the cafe whenever I’ve visited.

Excellent cakes and selection of drinks but sadly not open long enough. Can't really get savoury food after 2pm

Very messy got served as a take out..... realise they were short on staff

Food just average . There is no toilet paper in toilets and one toilet is on a step so only a man can reach it when standing up, plus it's infronr of a window. Didn't feel very hygienic.

the garden's look lovely .the cafe has been done lovely and very friendly volunteers .the worst part is the Chinese garden thiers no water in it now overgrown with weeds looking very sorry state such a shame

Since writing my review below, the service has been better. The mocha is lush. Unfortunately the 'cold drinks' aren't cold but room temperature. Service has been extremely slow each time my friend and I have visited and the communication/customer service lacking.

It's worth a visit if you're in Abbey Park

We nipped in to the cafe and when we eventually got served got told had no wraps or bacon cobs, so we went with sausage cobs and ordered one hot chocolate and 2 mocha. 20 minutes later we got our drinks barely warm and the mocha’s taste more like hot chocolate another 15 minutes later our sausage cobs was ready these where hot and tasted ok. Need more staff and to inform the customer of waiting time as we would have happily waited outside.

I was looking for a coffee and a packet of crisps after a long walk. I waited 25 minutes in a queue of three. There was one person doing everything from talking the order, cleaning tables and serving the order.. There were two people chatting at the back. After waiting so long, I got to my turn, the one person who is doing everything decided to clean empty tables while I was still waiting. I have to say I've not experienced such a bad service ever.. Despite the wait I decided to leave without ordering. I will never visit this Cafe again.

For the first time a little disappointing at the cafe today. Ordering took ages as there was no one taking orders. Ordered large drinks and were given small ones. Due to the wait we didn’t say anything.

Friendly café in the beautiful Abbey Park. A good meeting place for cycling around this side of Leicester. Not far from LOPC and Watemead Park.
