Abbey Guest House in York

Ideal location, very clean and comfy, exactly what we were looking for! The tiniest note is that it was pretty hot in the rooms, but that was solved well enough by opening the window!

Could not fault the service offered by Rob, if we go back to York we will stay here again.

We had a great first time in York and the Abbey Guest House was the perfect place to stay! Lovely spot right on the river, an easy 5-10 minute walk from the train station and another 5-10 minute walk into town. Rob, the host, greeted us at the door and gave us some excellent recommendations for the city along with a little map. There is a cozy lounge area with a small fridge in which we had a drawer assigned to us should we wish to keep anything in there, along with fresh milk and cold water. Our room was open, spacious, and clean with a good-sized en suite and a little coffee/tea tray. Rob even offered laundry service for £12, which was so much easier and cheaper than any of the laundry services we had looked up in town. Would definitely recommend this spot!

The owner was very helpful told us how to get to the guest house a 5 minute walk and the centre is about 10 minutes

We have stayed here a few years ago and it was lovely. Decided to stay again for our wedding weekend with family and friends. Rob couldn't do enough very friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast provided on request which was excellent. Can absolutely recommend

Very quiet, parking close-by, 5 minutes walk and your in the centre, clean and tidy, bed very comfortable! Highly recommended and will be going back!

Great little place to stop and we had a river view

Can't beat the location and very comfortable beds with nice thoughtful touches. No breakfast provided but plenty of places nearby to grab something. The stairs are pretty steep so just a heads up about that if you have mobility issues.

Great location by the river, 5 mins walk to down town shops and York Minster. Good option of tradition hotels. Just amazing.
