What a gem in Torquay, great service and getting a awesome rock cake free with the Tea can't be beaten.

Stopped for a coffee mid-cycle ride. Hadn't looked at the menu before ordering, so at first it seemed expensive (£3+ for takeaway latte). However, then found that it came with a cookie/flapjack. Further unexpected bonus that a gluten free crimble was available. Didn't order food, but quite impressed that a outlet like this had multiple vegan and gluten free options

Great sea front cafe, nice location. Only one downside is it requires more seating as it is so popular.

June 2024 I loved this little cafe, the sun was shining which helped but even without that I think this is a little gem of a place. The chap who served us was very accomodating, even though I was dithering a bit about our order. He was very humorous and great to chat with. The menu was one of the few in Torquay that has put any thought into serving the increasing number of vegetarians and vegans that might be visiting. He has a lovely philosophy of trying to keep prices fair, which I find increasingly rare, especially in tourist spots. The owner has adopted the policy of offering "suspended drinks" for those who are unable to afford to buy for themselves. All in all I can throughly recommend a stop off if you find yourself nearby.

I would deffo get the Chucky chocolate 10/10

Lovely little stop off! Had a nice cup of tea with free rock cake, friendly staff, benches infront with a fantastic view of the beach. Highly recommend a visit! x

Great food, great customer service, nice environment for outdoor service - didn't experience the atmosphere, as I just bought a wrap and drink take-out from the service window (hence, not giving five stars for an atmosphere!)

Lovely kiosk with ample seating area, great view of the sea. Breakfast wrap & tea was excellent, also a free caramel wafer bar! Very good value, a great alternative to the expensive “eat in” breakfasts locally.. (Just the weather needs to be dry!)

The perfect place to grab refreshments out in the beautiful green space of Torre Abbey with views of the beach. Such an array of baps, baguettes and hot paninis, jacket potato with a wode choice of filling. Every hot drink is served with a free snack (caramel wafer bars!), such an amazing touch. Seems like a family ran outfit. We asked for food just as they were about to close, to which the friendly gent asked the lad to put the ovens back on. Amazing and friendly service. They deserve your service. Highly recommend. Manners and friendliness make all the difference.

The crab and salad bap was absolutely delicious 😋 .my husband had a bacon bap. Yummy 😋 even in the pouring rain we were made welcome. Very helpful and friendly staff too. Thank you, we shall return 😊

Love this place, great tasting coffees and snacks, friendly service. And a really good location on the seafront. They beat the likes of Costa hands down, and much better to buy from a local business.

Another wee gem, or at least from my point of view. These guys deserve a thumbs up as they have a 'suspended coffee' scheme for the thirsty with nae money. Good idea. Coffee not so good, but tbe bacon bap on granary was a generous size, and a free slice of crumble with yr coffee. What's not to like?

the owner offers a 'suspended coffee' which means if you buy another hot drink he will gift it to those in need. He gives free dog treats and free biscuits with every hot drink. A really cheerful and amazing human being

Lovely place! So glad we found it. It was affordable and the food was delicious! I had a Ham and Cheese Panini, and it was the best! Food was served very quickly and we were even given a free gift of biscuits. Small seating area outside or you can take your food and sit around the park area. 10/10 would recommend.

Never been, recommended yesterday by our cousin, well worth the visit when in the park, drinks with free cakes what's not to like ,, great hot drinks well price , nice staff , great views , will be back

2 cheese and ham paninis, good price and a lot bigger than expected with lots of ham. Really nice food and enjoyed sitting in the gardens nearby to enjoy it, thank you we were very hungry before coming here and left very satisfied, will be back :)

Had breakfast cobs a couple of times they were lovely and tasty. The paninis were delicious . Always friendly helpful staff. It was my last day there today so I ordered so cobs and a ham and cheese panini to take with us and when I opened the bag there were chocolate bars in there as a thank you what a lovely gesture ❤️Thank you for looking after us❤️❤️

We have eaten here several times, got take aways and deliveries because it's my son's favourite place for a panini 😊 But also because the service is great, the view is stunning, and it's great to support a local business.

We had lunch here at Abbey Refreshments on Torre Abbey, Torquay today. We ordered two cheese and mayo baps with cold drinks. The service at the kiosk was very quick and the food was perfect, the baps were large and well filled. Brilliant value for money at £3.80 each, especially compared to the beach cafe opposite which are charging £7.00 for a smaller sandwich. . So, we'd definitely recommend having lunch down here at Abbey Refreshments on Abbey Lawn. Seating also available.

A simple ice cream stop. Yards Farm Ice Cream, yummy. Not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Staff were very friendly and speedy. Salted Caramel & Double chocolate.

My partner had a sausage and egg bap, couldn't eat much of it and now has food poisoning! It was the only thing he ate all day so it had to be this. Quite expensive for an outside cafe too! Even the dog didn't want to eat the sausage. Such a shame as it was a lovely sunny day to sit outside the cafe. Nice friendly service but unfortunately ruined his birthday holiday and mine as I'm now left out on my own in Yates and noticed they do a breakfast sandwich with a pot of tea included for just £3.49! Half the price!! I'd suggest walk the other way and go here. Food I've just had was great!

Do not take milkshakes there... it’s literally warm flavoured milk. Nowhere even close to a milkshake!!!!!!! I asked if they add any ice cream to it and lady said they do. Well... it was liquid like a water and I just left it on the counter after one sip... HORRIBLE

5 star service! Really friendly staff. Great spot to grab refreshments and then relax on the green with the sea views. Big plus that they have all the non dairy options for hot drinks! Would recommend!

One of our favourite places to go in Torquay. Super friendly service everytime and greeted with a lovely smile from the owner. Free snack with hot drinks and high quality products that are reasonably priced. Cant get enough of their paninis, we love them! I stop here frequently for a drink and sometimes an ice cream. It's ideally situated near Torre Abbey Sands. There are tables and chairs on the grass, but no shade. The owner is very committed to the environment and offers recycling bins for the cans, bottles and cups you use for drinks purchased here. Please note: I'm not suggesting that this cafe is somewhere to dump your recycling! There are bins near the beach for this. However, you can always ask if you can use their facilities for a can or bottle you've used. Their straws are made from vegetables, not plastic, and the coffee cups are recyclable. In addition to drinks, there are wrapped sandwiches, pancakes/crepes and other sweet treats. A takeaway service is available. The owner is also keen to support other local businesses who share his ethos. All the staff are friendly, helpful and kind. I always feel welcome. They prefer card payments, but cash is fine if you can't pay by card. There's no toilet, but public ones are a very short walk away.

Nice place to chill and drink coffee. You get a free cookie with your coffee. That was the only downfall.... I didn't actually get my free cookie. Even after cracking an awkward conversation about getting a free cookie with the attendant, they still didn't hand it over to me. Like they forgot. After a minute of stirring my coffee at the desk I decided to forget about the cookie. How does one ask for the free cookie? I sat there for the next 20 minutes moaning to myself that i didn't get the damned cookie. Oh well, still better than Starbucks.

Lovely little place for refreshments in the summer, very friendly and they even prefer card payments which is awesome as the nearest cashpoints are quite a walk.

Came across here on a dog walk and tried the coffee milkshake. Got given a biscuit for the dog too. Safe to say we'll be going back and have recommended to friends :)

Whilst on hoilday bumped into this nice sea side café. Brought several dr peppers also a pasty! Worth every bit of the 5 stars, also the young girl who served me was very smiley and nice to speak to.
