Beautiful meal, portion size have got smaller however it was very tasty and delicious.

Food was delicious. will definitely order again!

Food was okay but didn’t like the diced veg as seemed like frozen veg, usually have had Julian veg from other restaurants and less ‘wet’ sauce on both items.

Food was either dry or overcooked to the point where it was basically burnt, I’d feel ripped off if it was free!

Fantastic service! First time ordering from Abbey Cottage and I’ll definitely be ordering again. Food arrived early and perfectly hot, delivery driver was very chatty and welcoming.

To be honest the worst chicken dish ever. Cooked, not fried, plain just over salted. Definitely won’t order again.

Took over 2 hours from placing and food was only ok.

Food was rapidly handed to me then driver rushed off, from top of the bag all looked ok. I lifted the prawn crackers up to be greeted with sauce covering everything. Chilli chips soggy at bottom from sauce seeping into bag, chicken balls the same. Other dishes containers all covered too. The Kung Po was dry as all the sauce was in the bag. No wonder the driver rushed off.

Was delivered on time via Uber eats. Sweet and sour chicken was nice. However, vegetarians be warned! I’m fairly sure I found a piece of chicken in my plain noodles and my vegetable spring rolls looked and tasted suspiciously like duck. Egg fried rice was also disappointing- very bitty, flavourless and couldn’t actually see any egg. Won’t order from here again.

Order was half an hour late, was almost cold when arrived and was bland and almost tasteless. And that before even mentioning the high prices. last time I use Abbey Cottage

one of the items ordered was crushed in the bag, which meant it had leaked and spilt leaving the other items soaked in the over watery sauce and a puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bag. food was barely warm and hard rice. had to throw half of it away as it was inedible. Will not be ordering again.

Advised minimum delivery time would be 60 to 90 mins (it being a Friday night we accepted a wait), it arrived within the hour - staff always friendly, food always fresh and filling

Ordered takeaway recently. Food was cold, rice was burnt and egg wasn't cooked properly. Crispy spring rolls were soggy, even the cans of coke were out of date. Absolutely disgusting, everything went into the bin. I will never order from this place again!

Had a take away from Abbey cottage. By far the worst Chinese food I have had in years. Pawn balls and chicken balls were on par with a bag of scraps from the chippy. I could literally poor grease out of the bag. Chow mein had very little noodles mainly veg, spare ribs were tiny. Overall food was poor. Will not use again.

Everything was great, I ordered the spring onion and ginger tofu which was particularly good. However I find it was bit strange that the can of Cole was warm as if it had been put in with the warm food ? 🤷

What can I say, the food was awful. the chicken balls were all batter, and contained no actual chicken and the chips were disgusting. I have tried this place before when my usual chinese was closed, but I thought I'd give them another shot. I won't make that mistake again. worst chinese takeaway I've ever had! :(

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered to brook meadow campsite. Took an hour and half to be delivered. Received a phone call to say food was at reception went to collect and a rude man slung the food into the car window no conversion he then sped off in his car. Took the food back to our motorhome and our friends. I opened the bag and there was grease everywhere. We proceed ed to dish up and found 3 items were missing and the food we had received was like dog food. The shared starter prawn toasts were burnt,dim sum was just filo pastry and the ribs had barely any meat as for the seaweed it was pure salt. My partner had house special fried rice which was absolutely disgusting I had satay the meat was overcooked and all I could taste was garlic the beef and mushroom that my friend had was thick and gluepy and had barely any meat in it . I will say the mushroom chow mein was ok and eatable. This cost £81 although we did get a refund from Uber for the missing items. Absolutely awful 😞

Honestly don’t eat from here, food came over an hour late, it was cold and also was spilt all in the bag, no compensation offered either from just eat, poor poor poor

Me and my friend ordered last night half duck chips curry sauce and banana fritter they charged us £45 we didn’t get no chips no curry sauce and the receptionist was rude arrogant and keeps putting the phone down on me she told me five pancake we didn’t order extra pancakes we’ve got five packets on the menu it says you get 20 pancakes for half a duck that’s four packets so they have charged us £20 for chips curry sauce and banana fritters how can they tell me different prices i’m trying to confuse the situation I have called over 25 times and she keeps hanging the phone up we didn’t eat our order we have gave it to next doors dog it was not fit for Human consumption how they are running a business I will never know don’t ever get a delivery don’t ever dining and never take out absolutely horrendous

We ordered from here as our usual restaurant was closed. Well what can I say......Awful!! Chicken chow mein so dry, and hard to find the tiny bits of chicken!! My husband had chicken in black bean sauce, and he didn't like that either. Quite expensive too.

Worst Chinese ever. Vegetable spring rolls were burnt inside. Chips were reheated and felt like you were chewing cardboard. The food left a nasty coating on the roof of your mouth. Would not recommend

The rice was crunchy. The ribs were just fat with no sauce at all just oil sitting in the bottom. The chips were soggy and the coke was warm and flat. The crispy beef was inedible and ended up in the bin. Will never order from here again. Dreadful.

My partner had a chicken omelette and I had sweet and sour chicken balls and we are BOTH now suffering with extreme food poisoning. Will never be going back here again. Do not recommend in the slightest!

Food arrived within the delivery window given. it also arrived nice and hot. We had egg fried rice, crispy beef, spare ribs, prawn chow mein.

Had a takeaway from here - absolutely extortionate prices, very little chicken in the two chicken dishes, miserly portions, spring rolls were tiny and an odd size portion - why do they come as 3? Wouldn’t bother going again.

Really can’t understand as to how they can send food out in this condition. 3 spring rolls completely burnt and charred. Noodles in same condition. Used to have really good food but this is the second time the food has been uneatable. Will not be using them again. Service the only good thing about it..

My son & I both had a black hair in our food! Gross! I called & told them & was told the order would be sent out. When the food arrived the woman asked us to give her the black hairs, we’d already put them in the bin, along with the food & the bins were taken out. She tried to insist we go through the wheely bin to find the hairs to show her. As if we’d made it all up. Awful awful service. Besides that the food was cold & the sauces were watery. Definitely do not recommend.

Ordered takeaway via ubereats. So disappointed in the food! Singapore chow mein had no prawns in it, and the meat that was in there was horribly dry. Sweet and sour chicken balls... you may as well have sent a tub of water it was that runny and flavourless. Definitely in no rush to use here again.

Ordered before 6pm, initially advised delivery would be by 7:15pm, then 7:10-7:30pm. Then it was changed to 7:50pm. After ringing the restaurant advised the delivery was 5 minutes away. It finally arrived over 2 hours after the order was placed. The reason given by the restaurant was that they ran out of chicken balls (on a Saturday night)! The food was swimming in gravy that had leaked into the packaging and other containers. Really unimpressed especially as the food was lukewarm warm (at best)

Food as 'ok', however it was my fault apparently they don't like card transactions, and I was unable to retrospectively pay online for a Website order when advised to do so. I also didn't waste my time contacting them when I realised they hadn't provided the prawn crackers I paid for, so am unable to comment on their taste or appearance. 1st time ordering, but unlikely to return afraid.

Had delivery through JustEat and the food was really nice. Had vermicelli noodles which were delicious, lemon and chilli wings, chilli and salt chips. All if it was tasty. Would order from them again.

£8-50 beef curry that only had about 3 pieces of beef in it. Not good enough. Just order a curry sauce instead next time.

We won’t buy takeaway again, the chicken seemed processed as it was in small cubes - and only a few pieces. Not much flavour. Do not look at the menu prices on website menu as they have gone up a lot. We could have eaten out for the price as It was expensive.

Food arrived 2hrs 10 minutes after ordering, items were missing, tofu was so overcooked it was hard and cracked in half, rice was grey, seaweed was pure sugar. I did call the restaurant who were quite sharp, but as was I because I’d waited over 2 hours for inedible food. In fairness they were very good at explaining what I needed to do to complain but nonetheless, I won’t be going back.

The foods not how it used to be. Quality has gone down. Curry, bbq and sweet and sour sauce just weren’t up to scratch. Chips were cold rice was very dry.

We have used Abbey Cottage many times in the past, but not for a year or more. The food was awful and for the quantity and quality it was ridiculously overpriced!! The Lemon chicken was over £9 and was a tiny scrap of a thing, the vegetable spring rolls were tasteless, the chicken fried rice as a challenge to find anything other than rice. We don’t have takeaways very often and so when we do we want to enjoy it. This one - we did not and won’t be going there again.

I've been ordering from Abbey cottage for years and the meals have been lovely. But sadly the last two times the meals haven't been the usual standard. This time I ordered the chicken chow mein and chips. The chow mein was dry didn't seem to have any sauce. It used to. The chicken pieces were tiny, and all I could taste was the onion. It didn't seem to be very warm.

unfortunately last time I order from here the egg fried rice was all stuck to the bottom of the tray and in clumps like it’d be there for ages, and the noodles were all cold, a shame. Very disappointing.

Either really good or terrible, more likely the latter. Seems to be a problem with re-heating old food. Chips often stale and tofu slimy. The same dishes are different every time you order, so it's total chance every time. Front of house are friendly and accommodating, if, again, inconsistent with with their estimated pick-up times. Place generally lacks quality control.

The beef chow mein was nice . I won’t be buying the barbecue spare ribs again the sauce was like jelly not runny like it used to be and the ribs were fatty and cold . Has it changed hands as it’s certainly not the same anymore

Places our order at 12 pm for a scheduled delivery, food arrived steaming hot! Tastes very authentic and freshly made. No complaints at all especially for Christmas Eve

Absolutely awful. Possibly the worst take away I have ever had. What on earth would posses any reputable takeaway to sent chicken satay skewers floating in the sauce with soggy lettuce that is clearly intended as a side when dining in. Kung Po chicken didn’t actually resemble any Chinese dish I have ever eaten and even the prawn crackers seemed stale

We normally love our takeaways from Abbey Cottage, but unfortunately we had terrible food and service this evening. We made our order 18.45 and food arrived at 20.50, 35 mins later than expected. We rang the restaurant at 20.30 and they explained that there was an error in their food delivery and they were missing ingredients, hence why the food was delayed. However when the food eventually arrived it was freezing cold, which was extremely disappointing.

I've been here a few times and started off good. But each time we order the food seems to get worse or is cold. Also because they don't use sealed tubs we've had the sauce of a meat dish go into a veggie dish. When I explained this to the restaurant on another order and asked to make sure they were sealed properly I just got told "never heard of that happening" but it's happened several times. To top it off I've ordered vegetable spring rolls and there's definitely some questionable meat in there, they are not like the others I've had.

Very poor quality for money. Curry was very minimal and was largely mushroom as opposed to beef. Majority of the curry was spilled in the bag it came in. Chips were stone cold and solid in the middle. And the chicken balls were flat and solid as if they had been reheated and left.

Food was not hot, beef curry ok, chicken balls ok, rice wasn’t fresh! Sweet and sour sauce awful!

Food was very salty and not alot of flavour, ordered from here before but ordered again incase it was just an off day. Salt and chili chips had no flavour at all. Was disappointed ☹️

Mains were all good. Only slight criticism was spring rolls weren’t as crispy as I’d normally like. But will order again for sure.

Should have been 8:30pm. As it said 65mins. Food arrived at 9:10 Really disappointed. The chips were cold, the ribs were like 4 lumps of fat, no meat on them whatsoever. Really annoyed, as this was a birthday meal. We’ve just had a new born baby, so this was our treat, as getting out hasn’t been possible.

The food was lovely and fresh hot the 1st time..but unfortunately this time was disappointing 😞 my granddaughter stayed with me and I thought it would be a special treat. The sweet n sour chicken balls as they cooled, were getting chewier , (microwave chewier.. ) rice was extremely dry.. spring rolls were not from fresh because they were mushy . . overall not the standard I was expecting. I hate giving low negative views, this was an expensive treat of substantially lower ingredients.
