A Tasca - Restaurant in Peterborough

Sorry to say we fid not have a very good experience. We did take out. I called in the order at 3:30 for a 7 p.m. pickup. We ordered the meat plater with extra scures and a ceaser salad. The meat platter comes on pizza crust. The pizza crust was good. On top of the crust, they put French fries and then the meats on top of that. The French fries, being on the bottom become very soggy. Not sure how long our order sat under heat lamps, but the meat was completely dried out. The chicken scures were dry but edible, the pork scures were very dry and burned on one side, there was one sausage sliced up that wasn't too bad, and the gyro chicken was more like jerky it was so dried out it was actually crunchy. So disappointed as this was our 49th anniversary dinner and we expected a great meal after reading the reviews. The meal cost $119.00 plus the expected tip. We will not be coming back.

The food was amazing, our first time here, won't be the last. Lashings of food with a good price, well done guy's, hope to see you again soon.

Favourite restaurant in every way! The service is fantastic, food is to die for. Definitely make sure you go there hungry as the portion sizes are large! Definitely order the house red. Portuguese experience from the wait staff to the chefs. I feel more people should know about this gem in Peterborough!

O lacal e agradavel acolhedor , a comida estava Uma delicia , nao tem parqueamento privado mas tem parque gratuito nas ruas adjacentes qué ficam nao Mai's de 2 minutes a andar.

Hemos ido varias veces a comer a este restaurante, reservando con antelación. El personal es siempre muy amable con nosotros y nos han recomendado platos cuando se lo hemos pedido. El restaurante en sí suele llenarse bastante y se vuelve un poco ruidoso, pero la comida está muy bien y eso lo compensa. También ofrecen servicio a domicilio. Nos encantan los langostinos picantes de este sitio, y el mousse de chocolate.

Went here for lunch and found the service to be seriously lacking and starters came out cold. Wouldn't recommend.

Is our “home” fantastic place to eat with our family and friends nice environment the service is top notch. The food taste is like home lovely sangria, the waitress always doing their best always asking if is everything okay. Lovely food and well served portions is our Portugal in Peterborough. Myself and my husband visited last night. I had francesinha and it was delicious! Hubby had Frango assado and said it really is the best chicken. The service was great and the food came really fast. Portuguese food really is the best!!

Infelizmente a cataplana pra 2 pessoas veio pra mesa meia vazia,ou seja apenas tinha meia dose. Mostrei logo indignação pelo facto da comida não chegar para mime para o meu sócio mas nada feito pelo resraurante para agradar a mim e ao meu sócio. Jantamos ficamos muito insatisfeitos pelo serviço de mesa. A Dna da casa que nos serviu com muita arrogância sugeriu "na próxima vez peçam 2 cataplanas" e eu respondi que nunca mais là volto e que não recomendarei a ninguem.....por sua vez a Dna da casa disse "nunca ninguém reclamou" na realidade não é verdade, esta casa já teve várias reclamações. O estabelecimento até tem boa apresentação tanto no exterior como no interior mas o serviço de mesa é péssimo. Por fim o recibo mostra o valor da extorsão £36.50. Cataplana pra 2 muito mal servida saimos da qui com fome e ainda tivemos uma certa arrogância da parte da gerência insatisfação total nao recomendo a nao ser que queiram passar fome e acabar por ir ao macdonalds

We understand why we wait for so long, about 2 hrs for electrical problems solving but after payment of meals no apologies no thanks even no minimum compensation to customers about situation reported.

The food and service is always great here. They are also very welcoming of children. I'd definitely recommend the Francesinha, it is amazing!

Having recently come back from Porto, my boyfriend and I were craving a Francesinha sandwich - it’s basically a Portuguese version of a Croque Madame, but with a lot more meat. We found out about this place and went and gave it a try. We really weren’t disappointed. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was spot on. For the price you pay, the amount of food is great - we will definitely be going back and have already recommended it to friends.

Food took ages to arrive and when it did finally arrive it had hair in it. Sent it back for it to come back within 5 mins. Food was not fresh and tasted vile. Group of 17 all not happy with this experience or the food Waitresses that first served us had some hygiene issues as she did leave behind an awful smell each time she went by. Others did also complain about her and we didn't see her after that but the level of serve got no better Any decent place would respect their customers rather than belittle and serve real food. Will never visit again staff including the so called manager were rude place was dull even the 1 star given is a massive overstatement would have given a minus 5 but they are lucky they get a 1.

First time visit. We went as a works group night out. I was very impressed food was amazing good value. Staff was friendly efficient and helpful. Friday night was great as they had live music play. During the week it’s quite. Will definitely go back sometime with my husband for a meal.

The place is very nice, the food is very good. But no stars for the live music! Way too loud. I’ve been there to have a nice time with my friends but we could not have a conversation because we could hear each other. If there is no live music, great place!

New location, more spacious, lovely atmosphere. We went there for a birthday meal. The food was lovely, service was good, only downside is that our food took a bit long to be served and it might be hard to find parking on busy nights. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back again.

I had the Chefe Bife and my partner had the chicken with ham Both dishes were delicious, well cooked and the portions very generous. A return visit is assured. Highly recommended

No la mejor comida que he probado allí. Asistió como un grupo de 6 personas y éramos la única gente comiendo en el restaurante esa noche. 3 del grupo ordenados las gambas y calamares kebab, pinchos de 2 consistía en unos trozos de calamar y sólo 2 pequeños secos gambas dura. La comida estaba fría. No tome distancia para calentar. No parecía ser el personal habitual de trabajo como normalmente 2 mujeres, pero esta noche era personal masculino. También había un lavk de calefacción en el restaurante y no un radiador a la vista. Sin duda no está a su nivel habitual. No volveré pronto.

Very sparse furniture and decor compared to some other Lincoln road eateries. Chicken dish was average and had a lot of small bones. Nice salad but pretty expensive for what you get.

Cena.Limpio y ordenado y personal servicial.Menú era más caro de lo que esperábamos. abastecido sodas alternativos que niños disfrutaron. La cerveza estaba también muy bien (no superbok).saltamos entrantes y postres aunque los postres "Displayed"tenía buen aspecto.Los niños querían calamares como de costumbre .. parte y no podía masiva terminar.Probé el kebab gambas y calamares. Esto fue presentado con salsa de mantequilla de limón y verduras variadas y patatas.En general una buena comida.Mi única queja sería que la verdura que acompañan el kebab eran recocido y blanda

Desafortunadamente, en esta ocasión la comida era mala. La salsa al francezinha sabor como sopa de Heinz con demasiado pimienta, y créeme que sé de lo que los verdaderos gustos francezinha como después de comer la semana anterior en Porto. No me puedo quejar del servicio, pero no malgastes tu dinero, puedo hacerlo mejor en casa. Creo que debe de cambiar chef porque antes era el mejor lugar en Peterborough para este plato, por desgracia, no ahora :( me decepcionó era comer con una familia portuguesa, ojalá hubiera que sea en casa yo

Nice place to enjoy a meal or just for a cup of coffee or beer with friends, the real Portuguese flavors Peri Peri chicken hot or mild as your choice the very famous francesinha and the salted cod fish (bacalhau) much appreciated

Un colega mío me dijeron acerca de este restaurante cómo la comida era así que tuvimos que ir y probar.

Después de beber café aquí la mayoría de los días me finalmente pude probar comida gracias a una recomendación de Diogo, él me convenció para que la Francesinha. La impresionante mezcla de sabores en el plato y las porciones son enormes ... regresó al trabajo después, pero fácilmente podría dormir. Café es también fantástico.

I recomend the "Francesinha", tipical dish originally from Oporto in the north of Portugal. One of the best even when compared with the ones in Portugal. Not expensive and real Portuguese food.

Siempre he pasado por este restaurante cuando conduciendo a lo largo de Lincoln rd y pensamos que tengo que ir a comer allí. así que finalmente me las arreglé reservé una mesa para mi marido y yo aunque no creo que necesitamos bool estar entre semana. No era lo que esperaba en absoluto aunque el restaurante es muy simples y asientos el servicio y la comida eran excelentes. Elegí un filete de ternera en una mantequilla n lemon salsa y no me decepcionó el bistec medio lleno mi plato cocinado a la perfección. Mi marido eligió franchiisina que es un bocadillo recién horneado cubierto con huevo, era muy diferente a lo que pensamos que sería otra vez mi marido dijo que era excelente. El precio con botella de vino y cervezas era razonable. Volveré pronto y llevar a nuestros amigos con nosotros.

This is a family business. All I can say about it is the following:Wonderful food.Great service.Very reasonable prices.I go there at least once a moth.I prefer going at night times rather than during lunch time despite the fact that they do limited lunch offers.The way the cook the steak is wonderful. I really recommend to have a stake there.The drinks prices are very reasonable as well.

With the most typical portuguese dishes , "A Tasca " it's everything u expect from a portuguese restaurant abroad.... the food its pretty good, generous portions, and the price it's around 11£ -12£ ( main course) .The negative point , we had to wait nearly 1h for the dishes !! And we only had main course... and the restaurant was not busy at all , when we arrived! ( Sunday Lunch time..) The owners should pay attention to small details like these ...

Being portuguese myself, this is a place I will definitely return to. Good value for money, it is exactly what it says on the tin - a tasca translated by the tavern, is normally a place that serves good food not so worried about the presentation. It is not the best area of the city but if doesn't claim to be a classy restaurant anyway - worth a visit definitely but keep an open mind and trust your palate.AAAAAAA
