A Star Shawarma in Manchester

Super sad to see that this place has changed hands. They used to do amazing fresh burgers but we went in today and they are now frozen burgers. Gutted.

shame !they use to make there doner in house and sauces ,now it's all clearly bought in .can't even cook chips these days.

Absolutely awful, chicken looked like crispy toenails, messed up the order, didn’t have the food we wanted, table was dirty, very disappointing. Not recommended

I've heard great things about this place, homemade meat and sauces. Donner meat tasted like any other donner. Nothing special about it, chilli sauce was nice but it didn't save the dish. It costs £6 for donner wrap on naan. There are way better places where you pay £4 for better quality.

Really good - everything was fresh and delivered ahead of the estimated delivery time. Great shawarma, and home made donner was quality - good fresh meat, not greasy at all, highly recommended.

Owner left the shop and the food is horrible I tried kofta kebab. Which I loved but seems like some teenagers running the business which they have no clue

Mixed platter for two people comfortably. I enjoyed all the meats except the lamb Donner but that’s my preference

They don’t look after you anymore. They Try to fleece every customer. Asked for a shawarma wrap and he started filling the plate as it costs a few quid more. The donner wasn’t fresh as it normally is. Was cold. Remember without your loyal customers you are nothing and you have lost another customer now.

The food is normally amazing here but I was very disappointed today. There were four members of staff and nobody knew the price of the Kebab. The meat was cold and not fresh and then they wanted to charge me extra for salad. The boss wasn’t here so maybe that’s why, ended up, taking my money back and leaving.

Went to A Star Shawarma for the first time yesterday,the meat was the nicest we have ever had,all freshly made by hand,it was juicy and delicious,I had to reheat some of my meat,and it didn't dry out,the homemade sauces were delicious too,and the chicken Fataye was made fresh and the naan bread they were delicious,can't recommend A STAR SHAWARMA ENOUGH,WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK,BEST HOME MADE MEAT AND FRESH BREADS,AND SAUCES,the salads were delicious too nice and different,not you bog standard soggy salad you usually get,and the shop was spotlessly clean,the owner was a delight,very friendly,SEE YOU SOON A STAR SHAWARMA 😊❤️

As far as kebabs go this is well up there, home made doner, home made chilli sauce and baked to order Nan bread. I’ve been here a few times now and it’s somewhere I’d recommend anyone to try.

I find the place to be quite price competitive. Their shawarma serving is huge and enough. I would like to see a bundle menu where they offer shawarma, fries and drinks, but thats me being nit-picky. The people there are polite and serve you with a small on their face.

Outstanding takeaway. It's clear they take pride in making and serving high quality food. I had the mixed shawarma, kobeda and fatayer and all were delicious. Let's hope they remain consistent.

Delicious, variety of kebabs beautifully presented with fresh salad and tasty naan. We were hungry after a shopping trip so didn't get a chance to take photos of all of the food. We had a mixed shawarma along with a mixed kebab with rice. Excellent customer service from Mikael, would highly recommend.

Called today with my wife, I had a mixed kebab tray, and she had chicken skewer and lamb skewer. Everything was excellent, mega fresh and tasty. I am a big kebab fan and travel long distances for good kebabs and will definitely return here 👍🏻

Came here recently for the first time and the food was amazing! The staff, especially the guy that served us was very friendly and always had a smile on his face. We ordered the chicken and donner mix as we originally wanted the mix plate but they had sold out of the lamb. However, it didn't disappoint. We got chips with it along with a nice selection of salad and sauces, we also got some bread on the side too. The meats were very flavourful and the salad was fresh. The meal had a very fresh and clean feel to it aswell. Portions sizes are big and more than enough for one person and the pricing is also great. Definitely will be back again! Popped in today got a mixed tray and chips. Haven't eaten done in about 30 years but as it is homemade, thought I'd try it. The donner was good just a little too fatty in places for me, chicken was nice. Fresh salads to compliment. Overall a nice experience. Garlic sauce nice and creamy, chilli sauce was good but could do with a little more kick !

Popped in parked behind in Levenshulme Station car park . It's small but free . Ordered a chicken schwarma on naan (no samoon bread option) Now I've had leve b leve edgeley, savoury schwarma, and royal schwarma , for 4.50 its a good price the naan is made and cooked to order in a clay pit oven. A good portion of chicken, salad typically cold fresh,crisp. Chilli sauce was good , I ate this in the car and had to keep the door open as It is messy due to the girth of it. The chicken is really tasty. Its been open for about 12 months and never been nearby to sample it but it is good.

Been meaning to get down to A Star for a while. Finally got down today, first customers in. That Donner meat is amazing, chicken shawarma, amazing. Ali and the staff, amazing. Donner, chicken shawarma, chips and a can. £9. Bargain.

Great choice for a lunchtime doner. Fresh salad , fresh bread , nice doner meat. And on my doorstep at the right price. Spot on.

I ordered a Shwarma about 9pm. Waited ages. Chicken was dry, not nice. Naan was fresh though. Wont be going back as plenty of fresh ones around

Exceptional lamb doner kebab and served with a smile. Naan is also wonderfully soft and fluffy and the sauces compliment the meal very well. Also my guest had the chicken and said it was good but not the best she had ever tried. 2 kebabs and chips and a drink came to £19.50 which doesn't reflect the pricing on the wall on the menu so perhaps need updating and a little more expensive than I expected

It wasn't really busy but the guy makes his own kebab meat which out best the rest in this town. My friend is Cypriotic and I am sure he knows what a kebab is meant to taste like. The service were polite and respectful. Parking is at the rear but can be a pain during rush hours to find a spot

Kept seeing this place pop-up on my Facebook with various food reviewers recommending it, so thought I'd give it a try. We ordered a chicken fatayar, a chicken shawarma tray, and a veggie pizza. Generally, it was a really decent meal, the shawarma being the standout item, cooked perfectly with tons of flavour, lots of accompaniments, and so big that I couldn't finish it! A special word also for the staff, who were really friendly,chatty and hospitable. Recommended and would go again.

Eaten from this place dozens of times now, and I actually don't mind that they often get my order wrong, because the food has mostly been very decent One thing though - you stand with your card in hand waiting to pay, and they always go "no cash?" to which you have to say no... every single time They've got a card reader. A lot of people pay on card. And they actually know me, I'm in there a lot. Makes it awkward. Worth a visit for the doner anyways!

I've ordered their lamb donner kebab, it was was above average but pricey and nothing special.

We had a Mixed tray, single kofta, chips, rice and naan bread. The food was fantastic, it's all freshly prepared and the flavours are out of this world. Definitely be going back, I'm going to try the pizza next time. Thanks so much guys

Excellent food and staff - they are very friendly. They make their own meat and its a really good one I've got to admit. I highly recommend if you are in the area.

Food is really good but service was erratic. Wrong sauces put on food and general food instructions ignored. Thankfully the food does the talking but a shame to be let down by the service.

I've been here several times since it opened. The owner is always pleasant, regardless how busy it is. The donner meat is made in-house and unlike anything I've had here (though similar what I've had in the Turkic communities in Europe). Great value for money and a gem in the area.

Very small portion for donner kebab for £7.50. Looking at the comments he's increased the price from £7. Very rude man doesn't even reply back to Salaam. Never coming here again. They talk rubbish about you in Persian language. There's nicer kebab places for half the price. Avoid!

The experience was wonderful. Chicken shawarma was banging potentially the best there is. Customer service was 10/10, very friendly and homely place. Recommended to us by Dan C’s neighbour(Hamza) lived upto the hype. Thankyou Bossman we will be back real soon

Very tasty mix shawarma and lamb fataya . Lamb sharmwa was more like shredded keebab which tasty. Flavours were different to Levenshulme Bakery which both are amazing and tasty. Service was brilliant and food didnt take that long. I would definitely be popping back when in that area.

Had a mixed chicken shawarma/Lamb Doner tray and it was superb - A Star Shawarma is currently one of the best places in Manchester for this type of food alongside Leve Bakery of course.

Best Donner meat in Manchester, all homemade, juicy and delicious!

This place was recommended after watching a YouTuber who does food reviews. Probably the worst shwarma I have ever had! The lamb donner is suppose to be homemade but it definitely did not taste homemade , wasn't very edible. The chicken shwarma was chewy and also all of the order was incorrect and all on chips instead of naan bread. Very disappointed especially when it comes to food which goes inside my body. It looked nothing like the photos on the website and certainly not like the YouTube video. I would avoid visiting this place! Had great shwarma at the Post office shwarma in Chorlton! Terrible quality and extremely unhappy with how poor the food was!

Went in with my wife, we had the double kofta and chicken kebab, we were given complimentary lamb donner, food tasted fresh,succulent. Amazing place been before, always spot on
