A J K Fish And Chips in Blackburn with Darwen

This was my favourite place for fish and chips. The fish was huge and was always fried fresh. Unfortunately due to the cost of living expenses they were unable to continue operating. Sadly they are now permanently closed.

Ordered a lightly battered fish, with a regular portion of chips. Plus a tub of Peas and Curry. If never visited, the portion sizes are huge. Lovely huge battered Cod with a massive portion of chips. Easily serves 2, maybe 3 people if you arn't massive eaters. Other local chip shops, havn't been able to source Cod due to the massively increased prices. Missed AJK being closed for a few weeks, due to Ramadam and Eid, no doubt others have too. Prices have risen, as expected. But at £10, for quality food that feeds more than one to us, is very resaonable.

First time I have ordered online from here and half an hour before its due to arrive I get a message saying the restaurant couldnt accept my order when I have actually paid for it

Very rude staff when, when asking for something it’s made out to be a joke. Will be making a complaint about false advertisement also

Always good food at AJK's whenever I go. I'm not the only one who believes this is one of the best chippys in Lancashire. Started off great and has not stopped. So popular, AJK's now also has an adjoining sit down eaterie, the only thing that has stopped me giving 5 stars is that understandably because of popularity it takes a long time to get your order, even if its ordered in advance or by phone, and the unpredictable opening times, sometimes not for days. The other thing, which is just probably me, is that I think the fish tasted better before the refurb, but again thats just probably me.

They always make the fish & chips fresh to order. We phoned our order through and it was ready as they said, 10 minutes later, when we arrived to collect. The fish batter is crispy and the fish itself taste excellent. Chips were not dry, perfectly done. All in all, the best chippy in town.

We visited recently, as this was my favourite chippy back in the day. Unfortunately it really wasn’t what it used to be, the fish was good but the chips were pale, and the gravy was watered down to an inch of its life. The curry sauce was sadly the same, very watery and very bland :(

Fish made to order so expect a wait ,but worth it .Fantastic value very large portions excellent service. Recently opened an adjacent area for eating your purchase if you don’t wish to take away with you ,

This is a very efficiently run operation who have your food ready on-time when you place a phone order. Fish & Chips are consistently perfect, what more can be said Other pretenders have arrived in Blackburn but AJK have set the standard very high

I have had the pleasure of being present when this place was first opened some 35years ago. I was also present when the present owners, A J K, took over and made this place one of the leading fish and chips outlet. It has very recently been refurbished and now also boost a sitting area where you can enjoy your meal. I have never been disappointed with the food, always freshly prepared, or the friendly disposition of the owners and the staff. Highly recommended.,🔟

This is a simple but great place to get fish and chips. The food is cooked fresh in front of you and battered in front of you so you know you're not getting a fish which is 2 hours old. This is very well priced and the portions are generous.

After Mother Hubbard shut down I've been looking for a good chippy, and this one so far has delivered.Lovely fish, lovely chips, I shall definitely go again.

Locally this is the best place for fish. Very tasty and is always busy due to not just the taste but service also.It attracts many individuals from various cultures and backgrounds. The chippy is very clean and the food is well presented and tastes amazing even the sauces do as do the original mushy peas.You must go and taste it for yourselves.

This is a simple old school fish and chips place where you get what you see and nothing more. Really tasty fish and chips in more than big portions. The fish and chips are cooked fresh on order in front of you and never been disappointed.

Best ever fish and chips I have tasted.Fresh, crunchy and just right. Could eat from this place again and again. Not a posh place or a sit in diner, but beats other posh places by miles in terms of taste.

We are regular customers of AJK and recommend them to all our friends. The fish and chips are consistently of the highest standard; huge delicious fish cooked to perfection and large portions of tasty chips. The service is fast and polite. We ring up and book and they are ready when we get there.

The fish and chips is only tasty when it's fresh, do ask the workers though. They can get funny with you if ask for sauces or more seasoning on your food.They are arrogant and uncomfortable to be with. Its better to go somewhere else.You will have too look for car parking as their isn't enough places if you do go.

Fish cooked to order, enough chips for two & consistency over 20 years. Yup these boys are the best.

The portion was quite large & one portion sufficed for two, You have to ring in your order if you don't like waiting watching for your fresh fish& chips getting fried ! Otherwise waiting time varies depending on how busy they are , but they will tell you when you put your order. Best part is the fish is proper chunky cod & home made thick chips ! Both delicious Definately going to tell friends & family & certainly going to be a regular there .

Ajk well have say can't beat it great costumer service and fast and not only that could feed an army on the portions you get staff always polite and friendly what more can you ask for and a good menu choice for a fish and chips shop Top My List

Brilliant fiah and chips best in blackburn but staff are stuck up and never listen to the customer what they want on their food thats the only downside of ajk
