92 Noodle Bar in Ipswich

Outstanding. I had no idea what the place would be like but it turned out to be quite excellent. The decor is modest but quite OK, the dining area really clean, the service good and the food some of the best I've had in a restaurant of this type. The amount was dead right, it was fairly priced and all served with grace and a smile. First class and should I ever find myself in Ipswich again I know where to go for a really good oriental meal.

Stumbled across this Chinese after visiting Ipswich, saw the reviews looked good. We arrived shortly after it opened so it wasn’t busy and only had another table of guests. The food we had was poor, duck was overcooked and dry along with prawn toast which came out burnt. We had honey roast pork and special fried rice, the pork was also dry and overcooked and came with a bit of tin pineapple, the sauce had no flavour and the special friend rice was very unspecial having barely any meat in it and a few dried up prawns. Up there with the worst Chinese I have ever had so not very impressed considering the reviews on here

We went last night to the noodle bar and reserved a table. It was a lovely quiet atmosphere inside, we were actually one of the only tables occupied. It was very easy to talk and catch up which made it all the better. We were served our drinks quickly, some large cokes in nice cold glasses. We opted to share a starter the satay chicken skewers. These were nice, you get 4 but we couldn’t see on the menu where this was stipulated. Lots of chicken, nice sauce and nice and warm. The only problem.. we did not get given a plate, but being skewers perhaps this is why. For meals we both had a chicken curry each, one with egg fried rice one with boiled rice. I’m fussy and not a fan of carrots and peas, and the man who took our order (the manager I presume) was more than happy to let me customise my order to my taste. We both found very generous portions. Warm food and lots of chicken in our curry. It was very nice. The only downside, when ordering curry and the reason I have not left 5 stars. You do need to order the curry and rice separate, which with a curry sauce at £8.90 and a bowl of egg fried rice at £4.50, it made for quite an expensive curry. However, it came out quickly, it was absolutely delicious and did have plenty of chicken. We did also have to pay for the prawn crackers but they were lovely! We both left feeling very pleased, and will have to try something different on the menu next time.

This place is amazing. Came across it by chance one wet evening in Ipswich a few years ago and have been going ever since. We pass through Ipswich a few times a year for an event in Suffolk and now always make sure we can go for food here. Best Chinese food have ever had in the UK. Always look forward to it and they have never let us down. Really good quality and reasonably priced. Not to be missed if you are in the area. Gutted as this summer we will be passing through on the one day of the week they are closed. But next time!

Poor quality food that tasted like it had been warmed up in the microwave. Nothing tasted fresh. Some vegetables looked half eaten. Very expensive for a take away. Will not be going here again.

We enjoyed the food at this restaurant. It had some different items on the manual that we haven’t seen on any of our local restaurant menus. The soft shelled crabs were lovely and can defiantly recommend the beef brisket and potato as a dish to try.

Have driven past this place many times but never made the excuse to go. I'm glad I finally did! Went for lunch and only a couple of tables were in before us so we were greeted and sat down straight away. There was loads to choose from on the menu. They have a vegan menu available too. We ordered the mixed starter to share and a dish each. Everything was brought out in good time and looked incredible. Every dish was fresh and tasted amazing. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and I really enjoyed my experience it's probably one of the best Asian meals I've had in Ipswich.

Visited on a Saturday evening with friends, we had a lovely time, we had many dishes between us, all very tasty expecially the beef in black bean sauce. Good selection of dishes at reasonable prices with a good selection of drinks. Good service from friendly staff.

… well … reasonably priced. And that was the case too. Ok. So time to come clean. I never intended to go to 92 Noodle Bar. I had arrived in Ipswich and wanted to grab some food before things closed. An allergen friendly restaurant caught my attention and I walked over. However, turned out they only open for delivery on Mondays and Tuesdays but don’t make it clear on their website. So, sodden and cold (it was a freezing wet evening), I ventured back looking at my phone for an alternative. 92 Noodle Bar was an option that popped up and I realised I was just 2 minutes walk away. So I decided to try. I was somewhat underwhelmed as it wasn’t very busy. But the staff were warm and welcoming and very happy to help identify gluten free dishes. I was spoilt for choice to be honest. Food arrived fairly quickly. Very good portions and tasted good too. I would class this as an old school Chinese restaurant (in a good way). Lots of choices on the menu, generous portions and everything very reasonably priced. I was stuffed. Oh and they noticed I was cold and sodden so seated me next to a radiator which warmed me up nicely. Don’t expect a posh or hipster dining experience. Expect good food in sn easygoing place and you’ll love it.

Had the set meal but the starter ribs were luke warm otherwise ok. We had luke warm plates given to us for our main courses but when the main dishes arrived they were served in extremely cold dishes hence food did not stay warm long. We asked for 2 of the dishes to be warmed up which they did in the microwave. No apology and one dish came back all dried up round the edges. All in all quite an unsatisfactory visit. There are many more options in Ipswich to try

I had a take away and to be honest was not great at all, tasted like the sauce was from a trade 4 lite tub on the ribs, the ribs were tough and did not fall off the bone as you would like, the main was not as bad the chicken black bean sauce. A shame as I heard it was good maybe not good for take away, the spring rolls tasted frozen and the filling was not good at all, I could have bought from Iceland shop and they are better, Hand made spring rolls are awesome, a shame they do not do this, I will not go back to order from them

the food was good but the service was horrible. the manager talked down to one of the young staff who was nothing but lovely and served us our meal and drinks. the boy was nice and the girl with glasses but the elder lady was shouting in the kitchen and staff and pushing past the staff. its a shame as its a nice, calm environment. i ordered salt and pepper squid and it was cold, the girl with glasses took it to the staff only room and took it back out and it was only a bit warm. they had put it in the microwave!! how unhygienic.

Arrived about 8pm Thursday night. Just chanced on the place in passing. Sorry but should have passed by. Best part was Adnams Ghost Ship. ate the wonton soup small ages to come and staff didn't really know the menu as had to come back and clarify. Wonton soup 2 star only and only thing eaten. Ordered ribs bbq sauce and fried special noodles seaford. Food arrived with nothing to eat them with no chop sticks or knife fork. Had to ask but wasn't needed as food not pleasant. Eyes rejected it first. Noodles fried seafood at different temps cold and hot so no from me. BBQ sauce on ribs was just unpleasant to look at and not nice to taste.Returned food full plates. Paid bill as wanted to leave quickly. £25 for soup and bottle of beer. My mistake. Thanks for being open and for the moment of rest at end of a busy day. Tried here on a Thursday night whilst staying at the Salthouse Harbour Hotel just around the corner. Food was delicious, fresh and arrived quickly. We were the only table in the restaurant as I think they stayed open later after our last minute phone booking; we didn’t feel rushed and service was great.Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for good quality Chinese dishes.

Having visited Honk Kong and China Twice a year for the last 10 years i love Ramens. The beef noodle soup was excellent and my and my fiance shared a soup to start. We craved some spice so ordered all of our dishes hot. We was not disappointed food was outstanding. Restaurant decor was a bit tired and outdated but food superb.

We visited here for our daughter's birthday. She had eaten here in the past and had said how good the food was. It was a Monday eve and was quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu has many Chinese Asian dishes to choose from. The drinks menu is good with Adams ales and good quality wines. The food is all freshly cooked and was served hot and was very tasty. Some of the best Chinese food we have eaten. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and was very clean and tidy. Bathroom facilities are upstairs so beware if you have mobility problems. We visited just before the Covid 19 ban came in to force and once lifted we will definitely be going back again. Excellent evening.

This place is casual but the food is excellent. I would say it’s style is Szechuan not The usual Cantonese from Hong Kong. The lunch deal are good with some interesting choices and comes with two side dishes. The potato salad was a revelation. And the mains was tasty and spicy.

3 of us dined here on a Saturday evening & we cannot fault it in any way. The service was excellent, atmosphere very pleasant also. Our food was delicious. Hot & Sour Soup - Crispy Duck - S&P Squid - S&P Ribs kicked us off & it was all so fresh, tasty & extremely well cooked. We ordered loads more food (beef, pork, noodles, rice, veggies etc...) and managed to eat all of it. It's so good you cannot possibly leave anything behind!Would highly recommend 92 noodle bar & will most certainly be returning.

A Monday evening and looking for something new. Delicious!!!Off the beaten track a little bit, and perhaps outshone (in looks alone) by some of the more glitzy looking quay side offerings, makes it all the more authentic. It was a quiet evening, can’t imagine we’d be so lucky to get a walk in table at the weekend. Freshly cooked food, piping hot to the table, extensive menu, friendly and welcoming staff. Loved it.

Today was our second visit to this wonderful little restaurant. We stumbled across this by chance over the Xmas period, and we were so impressed with the excellent authentic food, friendly service and value for money. It’s an 80 mile round trip for us, but it is definitely worth the journey and we will be back soon!

Delightful restaurant. Very warm welcome, cosy and excellent food. The menu is a mixture of your typical westernised Chinese dishes and traditional dishes. I opted for traditional and all 3 dishes were excellent, the dry fried green beans especially transported me back to my travels in Sichuan province. Definitely give this place a go, you won’t be disappointed.

Didn't really want to put this review as others will want to go . Went as a family at 1900 hrs Saturday night . The place was busy ,including Asian customers, which must be a good sign. The restaurant decor is no frills but it is clean and spacious . The Manageress and Waiting Staff were all friendly and the service was very prompt and attentive . The food : Menu was varied from standard Chinese dishes to a more interesting Specials/Traditional alternatives. We had 4 x starter and 4 x Main. All were excellent and delicious with ample servings The final bill, including drinks, were a fraction of some of its more illustrious neighbours in the same marketplace but certainly did not lack their quality. we will be back

I had been avoiding Chinese food as MSG always give me shoulder pain and headache, let alone being thirsty as a side effect! But 92 noodle bar does not give me any of those effects and it means good quality food with no artificial flavoring! I have been to 92 many times and thumb up every time! Give it a try!!

I must have driven past this restaurant literally hundreds of times, without really noticing or paying much attention, as it is so understated and inconspicuous. However, after reading some online reviews, my son and I decided to give it ago. The welcome was warm and friendly and the food was delicious. It was certainly a cut above the well known noodle chains. The lunch menu is very well priced and I will certainly be back on a regular basis.

I had lunch here new years day and despite the restaurant being quiet when we arrived, the food was amazing! I recommend the noodle soups with the fresh homemade noodles, you can really tell that they're fresh. While I loved the experience and the food, what I would really love if I visited again is the option to make the noodle soups a bit more spicy. Maybe a spicy option on the menu or some chillies on the table

Not the obvious place to visit as its hidden away behind the waterfront. Busy though so that’s a good sign and didn’t disappoint food wise with good service and pleasant enough atmosphere. Will go back and try a few more things on the menu as shows plenty of promise. Had a pleasant evening.

Had a great lunch here a few Saturdays ago. I arrived around 12:15 and it was completely empty. The girl who served me was friendly, helpful and very polite. The food was really tasty and the lunchtime deal is a very reasonable price. Would definitely return.

After reading all the rave reviews we decided to try the place out. Maybe I was expecting too much, the food was ok, the service ok, the place itself ok but that’s about it for me.
