Our experience was exceptional from beginning to end - from the great cocktails to the starters (don’t miss the lobster soup!) and outstanding main courses. Our chef came by in this intimate setting and made the night extra special. We’re visiting Manchester, but will return to 63 Degrees any time we’re here.

Gorgeous traditional styling. Service was excellent, friendly and very professional. Chef was delightlful and food was perfect. It is very like the traditional bistros you can find in Paris if you get away from the tourist traps. Cocktails spot on, great wine list, food perfect, lovely cheese board, then desert, then coffee, then digestif then one for the road... Thoroughly receommend.

We had a lovely meal. The waitress was very attentive with topping up water and wine as soon as needed. Menu had a good selection and waitress was able to explain all the dishes in good detail. Fillet steak and scallops were cooked to perfection and came quickly. Atmosphere was good with a well established floor plan and not much ambient noise so conversation was easy. 63 degrees deserves the high rating it holds.

MORE AT OpenTable

Let's start at the beginning; this place is not cheap. The question is, is it worth going anyway? To that, I say that it is. The key thing to note is that what you're buying is modestly sized amounts of very good food. I boxed off a risotto starter, then the steak for two (on my own) and the crème brûlée, alongside two cocktails and a bottle of water. I'm not a big guy, but that was a manageable amount. If you want to pay a similar amount of money, go to the Ivy or 20 Stories or Climat. The food won't be as good, but the portions will be slightly larger. If you want to have the same quality and pay less, head to Sparrows or Medlock Canteen. The drinks here are excellent. If we're finding criticisms, the menu is a little vodka-heavy, but the drinks we had were well designed, generously proportioned and beautifully mixed. The space is small, just 20 cover or so, but the music is kept low and the lighting is fairly bright, so you won't feel either overwhelmed or like you're in a dungeon. FoH staff are attentive and do a good job. They're clearly well trained without being fussy. Chefs take pride in their work, but both food and presentation is simple and uncomplicated. In terms of the three tests (would I eat here again myself, would I take a foodie friend from out of town and would I come here if I only had a week to live), it certainly passes the first two. It doesn't muscle its way onto the final list, but that says more about how much top notch food there is in Manchester now than it does about 63°. 4.5*/5, only losing that half a star because the prices push down the overall value.

Really disappointing meal. My partner and I have been to plenty Michelin rated restaurants and this is the bottom ranking for sure. Went for my partner and I’s anniversary meal - the food felt like a glorified pub menu/cote brasserie. It was nothing special, especially considering the price. My main was dry and room temp but my partner’s was nice. We ordered mocktails but they were just a mixture of juices, they could definitely benefit from some more inventive mocktails (try something with ginger beer, grapefruit or soda water???). I don’t usually review places but after a bill of over £130 I felt it needed to be done. If you’re after a true Michelin experience, go to Erst instead!

i would not recommend this place at all! im truly shocked its on the Michelin guide. should taken off. the steak was good, but zero flavour had to add a lot salt. the snails, awful again no flavour. the cauliflower was just watery and bland. the spiced beef was shocking it was 99% cold veg and a tiny bit of beef. also No flavour at all! everything was super tasteless! would not recommend. AT £200 for 5 people. the food should flavour and enjoyable. save your self a lot of money by going to street urchin and half the price. Gutted.

On our friend's birthday, he wanted to eat French cuisine, so we chose 63 Degrees, one of the highly-rated French restaurants in Manchester. To celebrate, we brought a birthday cake. Upon entering, the waiter informed us that it would be £12.50 per person to eat our own cake, equivalent to their average dessert price. We had no other choice but to accept the cost unless we walked out of the restaurant. However, when the bill arrived, we were charged £13.00 per person instead. The issue is not only the cost but most importantly, misleading us and the refusal to correct it when we pointed it out. Regarding the food, it was disappointing and not worth the price. The starters included a yellow risotto that tasted sweet and strange, foie gras that was cold and flavorless, and escargot that, although decent, was fried and not fresh. The main dishes, like the pigeon burger, beef burger, and scallops, were just average. We provided feedback to the waiter about the starters. Hopefully they will improve their starters. When it came to the wine selection, we wanted to purchase a bottle to share amongst us. Unlike other restaurants I have been to, they did not allow us to taste different selections of wines before choosing a bottle. I feel that it is an unusual policy and off-putting for those who want to select a nice wine and are unfamiliar with the brands of selection they have. Lastly, the restaurant did not acknowledge my friend's birthday with a song or any special gesture, or even happy birthday wishes. While this may seem minor, it added to the overall disappointment for the lack of hospitality. Service wise, it was moderately slow and we have to walk to the bar counter several times to request refills for water. Given these experiences, I would not recommend 63 Degrees for celebrating birthdays or any special occasions. Honestly, look elsewhere in Manchester that’s worth your money.

Four of us came on July 14 hoping for a Fete Nationale- type of meal 🇫🇷 The only reason that I’ve given it four stars is because there was no nod at all to the Fete Nationale which was a shame. We are all Francophiles, two of us speaking French so we were delighted to have some opportunity to speak some French with the waiter and the chef patron. We had the set menu, which, whilst offering fairly small portions - we had to pay extra for vegetables- was quite delicious. I had the chicken in a sauce and shared the Gratin Dauphinoise and the seasonal vegetables with my partner – absolutely yummy. Yum.😋 The décor was lovely ❤️. So hard to find a good French restaurant in central Manchester so am very pleased that this one still exists! Merci x

A French fine cuisine restaurant in Northern quarter. It’s far from mediocre but always disappoints you in some unexpected way. For example the Japanese Wagyu is tender and tasty but it could be better if the temperature can be up few degrees. The escargot( the snail ) has been presented in unusual way, impressive with rich layers of taste. But again the temperature is not in the right level. Maybe it’s my fault to have this dinner at early 6pm-ish to be the first client of evening. The kitchen is just warming up yet.

We went here for dinner on Saturday evening after going last year and really enjoying it, but I have to say we were very disappointed. We weren't shown any of the specials and the lobster salad which is very expensive at £20 and we had 2 of them as it was delicious last time was so tasteless just a load of lettuce with a tiny bit of lobster. She's not really a burger person but the dish was not at aĺl like a burger and was delicious. We enjoyed all our dishes including a very unusual risotto and a fantastic chocolate sphere. We had great cocktails and really excellent selection of wine by the glass as well as the bottle. Staff were friendly, efficient and the right level of attentive.

The Foie Gras, Cod and Chocolate / Pear orb were fabulous. We were completely underwhelmed and disappointed with our experience at 63 Degrees. Considering the price of the dishes, the size of our meals was laughable and not worth our money. Specifically, the cod main wasn’t a full cod fillet and I could find a bigger, better quality at a local supermarket for a cheaper price than £23. We had ordered a side of dauphinois potatoes to share which was literally one small, dry potato which was not big enough to share between two people. We also ordered a side of pan-fried vegetables to share which in actual fact was a small bowl of boiled winter veg (described on our receipt as “winter veg”) despite it being spring and not what we had ordered. Overall the meal was abismal and derailed our one night visiting Manchester for the weekend as we spent the remainder of our evening looking for a place to get a late night tea because we were starving.

Our greeter and server was polite and mainly professional, however, forgot to ask our measure of wine and assumed 175ml, we realised when paying bill, as expected 125ml, due to driving. We had the set menu. Chicken terrine was bland, we had to order sides as extras ££ (root veg sub par and tasteless) with the main course dishes (should be included), with a standard dessert of creme brulee. Overall, I felt the experience was overpriced and below par. Very disappointed. I would not be able able to recommend to others or return. Imagine if it has been pan fried, on a toasted brioche. Just unimaginative and fine. The egg and mushrooms were ok. Imagine if it had been pan fried wild mushrooms with garlic and herbs. Instead it was cold and resembled Campbells condensed mushroom soup. The steak was ok. It was overdone for rare, especially at a French restaurant! Was it worth £42? No chance The chicken was ok, maybe the better of the choices we made. The wine was nice. The salad was ok. The “pan fried veg” were some steamed carrots and swede. We didn’t even touch those. Thankfully they were taken off the menu. Felt like it was a good restaurant, at some point recently. I feel bad judging a place on a single visit, but this clearly wasn’t this place at its best. I think the chef was on holiday and someone was left holding the fort. Won’t be coming back.

Very cozy place, excellent service. In regards to the food selection it was a little bit small. We adored the asparagus and feta and the black truffle risotto to start with, but the mains were more or less disappointing. The chicken and the duck were not amazing.

Not sure it was Michelin star level. Lack of snails in the starter - mainly mushrooms and carrots. My daughter had the lobster soup which took twenty minutes but the soup was a consommé and really disappointing. Prices were high so will not be returning. Dull

Service was excellent, this is the 3rd time I have eaten here and previously really enjoyed everything about the restaurant, however last nights meal was disappointing the steaks were almost blue and not medium rare as ordered. I was offered a free glass of champagne and not offered my meal to changed

The staff are incredibly rude , we ordered the rib-eye steak for 2 and it was unseasoned not cooked how we asked for it to be cooked and if definitely was not £82 worth of steak to be honest I’ve had better steak from the supermarket The entire time we was there not once did any member of staff come to ask how our food was or if we needed anything else Service was incredibly poor and when we complained about the steak the chef came out to our table very angry and tried to snatch the food from our table Do not waste your money in this restaurant never been so poorly treated in a restaurant in my life

This is a very special little restaurant, tucked away in the Manchester’s Northern Quarter, once inside you are taken to a cosy French restaurant that oozes charm. The menu is classic, short and always some specials on the board, I jumped on the black truffle risotto - I am huge risotto fan - and it was lovely. It’s not cheap, but far from expensive for this quality of food. Will be going back for more, and would recommend to anyone wanting to find something a little bit different in the NQ.

We have just had our staff Christmas Party at Malmaison and it was a HUGE success. Big thanks go to all the staff that made sure the night went smoothly. James the DJ was great too, and got everyone up dancing. So many positive comments about the location, food, room, DJ. Great fun was had by all.

Came with a friend for an evening meal. After seeing much online about this restaurant we were excited to attend. It was very quiet for a Friday night - the booking system on their website was a little peculiar as it didn't let me book until around a week before the date, before this it appeared as if it was all booked up. When we walked in the staff were friendly and chatty and this great service continued throughout the evening. We saw the focaccia being prepared as we walked past which looked delicious. The food choice was limited, but what we did have was delicious - the panisse was a particular stand out. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and a lovely evening overall.

A visit to Didsbury on Sunday led to an impromptu visit to The Didsbury for some lunch. As it was Sunday my wife and I both opted for the roast option. Unfortunately it was far from Satisfactory. The plate was engulfed with a yorkshire pudding of epic scale whose texture was more like a meringue. The 'goose fat roasted potatoes' were virtually dessicated and tasted weird. The stuffing required an angle grinder to divide it into manageable chunks. The 'pig in blanket' was more a 'hippo in a hankerchief' (large sausage in the teeniest bit of bacon)... The turkey and gravy were fine though... We were offered some minted new potatoes to make up for the poor meal.. We declined.. This was our first post pandemic sojourn to a 'restaurant'.... I thought places were meant to be making an effort to win us back!!!

A quiet restaurant inside Selfridge. We entered without a reservation, and frankly, the employee Marina from Cyprus impressed me with the way she described the dishes. She was wonderful and explained with love and enthusiasm my eagerness to eat, and she really deserves appreciation❤️
