42nd East Bakehouse in Lincoln

Order arrived with items missing and smashed to pieces. Plain cakes expected much better don’t fall for their camera tricks. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM THIS PLACE. Go to marks and Spencer’s buy a tub of hazelnut creme and some brownie mix. A lot more tastier. They are scamsters. They will PURPOSELY miss items out and give you mashed up items and not replace any smashed up items. PLEASE BE AWARE YOUR ITEMS WILL ARRIVE SMASHED UP AND THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU

Ordered a brookie!! Omg absolutely amazing!! And the customer service was excellent! The young lady held samples and were delicious and also recommended her favourites! Will definitely be coming again !

ordered online. big waste of money never buying again. cookie was dry and flavourless. brownies were average, more like chocolate cake. look the part but certainly dont taste it

Lovely cakes and brownies, very filling, can be a bit sickly if you eat in one go, so I tend to eat it over a few sittings or share. Cute little shop, cakes quite pricey, but as said they are large.

They have so many cookies and brownies to try. This place never disappoints me

Poor customer service. Had nothing to take our purchase away in, just a open box and cookie dough tasted like cheap margarine. Disappointed as they looked good.

These look great but so disappointing. Cookie dough tastes old, stodgy and bland. Smothering a large amount of cookie with ready made white chocolate icing and a choc bar doesn’t really help. A big sweet mess which sadly doesn’t satisfy. Custom Bakes much better imo. Shop girl very friendly though. Hope they improve the bakes

Craziest cookies I've ever seen! The young lady was very friendly helpful telling us each item. I am having a sugar crash now haha my only recommendation would be names and prices over each item as being partially deaf, I couldn't quite hear what she was saying was in each item. Not her fault, purely a daily difficulty of mine.

Absolutely terrible customer service, I was sold an item that was not as described it did not have marshmallow fluff in the middle which is how it’s described both on the website and by the member of staff at the Lincoln store also, was made up of brownie in the middle which is not how the member of staff described it she told me it was cookie dough. Non of the products at the Lincoln store was labeled with descriptions, ingredients or allergens. I Have messaged them multiple times with no answer. I’m sure it breaches trading standards to sell an item that is not at described!! What a Waste of £6 for a very poor quality overly priced product which was not eaten and went straight in the bin . I now see they have had multiple bad reviews relating to their awful customer service and products , needless to say we won’t be purchasing from them again

I dropped into 42nd East Bakehouse in Helmsley over the summer and had a lovely coffee and cookie. So I decided to order a cookie box as a gift for my friend in London. The cookie box never arrived at my friend's house. When I spoke to the courier they told me to contact 42nd East Bakehouse to resolve the issue. 42nd East Bakehouse then told me to get DPD to fix the issue. No one was willing to help and so my friend never received her birthday gift. Neither DPD nor 42nd East Bakehouse would refund any part of my money, so I'm £30 out of pocket. Needless to say I will not order from them again and I will warn anyone against making an online purchase from this company.

I bought 2 items from the Lincoln branch today. I was so disappointed. Used to be fresh and so delicious! Unfortunately was not fresh tasted mass produced and a day old. Still with a hefty price tag. Nothing like how it was when opened in the market. Won't be returning. Both items went in the bin!

It's just not very appetising. I had the bueno cookie burrito. The brownie chunks were dry, while the bueno wafer inside was soggy. The bueno sauce was quite nice, but all in all it was kind of ugly and sickly.

I love the Lincoln store. Amazing products and great staff. The guys at work always love when I bring in products from the Bakehouse.

The best bakes in the country! We’ve been ordering from 42nd East Bakehouse every few months or so for over two years and have always received not only an excellent level of customer service but also the most incredible treats (our absolute favourite is the white chocolate and Biscoff cookie dough pie!). In September 2020 we visited their Beverly store which is beautiful, so aesthetic, the team were so welcoming and managed running the store with covid restrictions seamlessly, not to mention the mind blowing selection of bakes and hot drinks! 11/10, a must try!

I placed an order in January for a special birthday in February having previously tried their products before which are amazing. However, I never received my order and after messaging several times that I had not even had a dispatch email, I have still not received a response so now have no idea where my order is or what is going on. The customer service has been shockingly poor and unfortunately this has completely put me off ordering off them online. Such a disappointment.

UPDATE: emails and messages were going to a spam folder - they sent a new order out shortly after i posted this. ORIGINAL: Ordered 10 days ago (Mon 30th Nov) and have not received the cookies, nor have I received any kind of communication, and they haven’t responded to multiple emails or DMs. But they did take my money! I can’t believe i’m having to write a Google review just to get their attention, either for the order to be sent or to get a refund.

The treats are delicious, but the location of the new Lincoln store is not so good. I appreciate you get more foot fall, but the counter is cramped, products aren't marked and you have to line up in the middle of the shopping centre entrance, which isn't ideal. Also, to have two cookies placed into an enormous box was actually a bit of a nuisance. The old location and way of doing things was better, in my opinion.

Placed an order online on the 24th November. Still haven’t gotten a dispatch email to say my order is on its way. Gave them benefit of doubt as it may be a busy period and I have attempted to contact them twice very politely for an update as to how my order is progressing but not a single response. They took the money out of my account within 24 hours though. Will not be ordering again even if I eventually get this first order. Customer service terrible.

Fantastic cookie cheesecake from a beautifully presented store 🎂🍩

Do not order online from this bakery! I have been following them on instagram and was so excited to make an order, but I have been completely let down by the poor service, unprofessionalism and poor quality goods. I ordered a week in advance for a special occasion (which I made clear was time sensitive in the order note). They did NOT give DPD my correct address which meant they could not deliver on time. We contacted the bakehouse and they assured us they had corrected their mistake and even told us to 'relax', only to be told by DPD the next day that they had not! In the end we had to arrange directly with DPD to get the goods at all. So ended up not getting the delivery in time (it was for my brother's 30th) and 42nd east bakehouse took no responsibility at all for their mistake, were in no way apologetic and refused a refund as they blamed DPD. When the goods finally did arrive (4 days after they were supposed to!) all the cakes were broken, stale and squashed. We had mentioned this concern to the team and they replied they 'had never had any complaints' before. I can see from these google reviews that is DEFINITELY not true and it seems like many people who purchased a mail order have been let down. I would avoid ordering at all costs and do not get lured in by the instagram posts like we did!

I am. Absolutely disgusted and the complete lack of customer service from this company who should be ashamed. They are quick enough to ake your money but completely ignored my 3 emails asking politely for them To address my situation. My order was completely wrong and was suppose to be a gift to my mother for her bday. This was also my first time Ordering online from them and I will Not be ordering ever again, I spent almost £40!! Which in the current climate I thought a local business would be greatful for. I have resided to the fact I won't get the correct order and the brownies I recieve were of poor quality and have been binned.

Absolute joke of a company the packaging was shocking all the products where mashed up they missed the main cookie of. All was purchased as a present for someone close but they where that bad I couldn't hand them over looking how they where. After sending message after message and not getting replys I think it's only right I give my experience. I really didn't want to post this due to being a customer In The past and spending quite some money with them for after my bodybuilding show. Screen shots and photos to prove the shocking quality of the products and being ignored message after message

Unfortunately I need to give 1 star not for the quality of the products but tje quality of customer service. Absolutely shocking. Lied about when cakes were dispatched. Received after 2 and a half weeks. Rubbish communication and terribly packaged. Cakes were all broked when received. Sorry wont be back.

Delicious. I've never had anything like it. Only for those with a sweet tooth, mind. The coffee was also superb.

Very nice cakes and biscuits, had some brownies and cookies and would recommend. However i wouldn't order myself again after how long it took for delivery took for me and my friend on separate orders, I think if there isnt any time frame then go for it or collect if you can. I've heard the people are nice too, it's only because of the delivery it is marked down

The products were alright but not quite as advertised, damaged on arrival, and postge is very expensive.

3 weeks on and still waiting for my products to arrive, payment was taken straight away. No reply in 48 hours, customer service has been shocking throughout. They have time to post stories on Instagram but not enough time to reply to customers who have brought products, but have not recieved them, ignoring their messages.

+ Amazing treats and lovely staff. When they first opened a group of us went every day for a few weeks and the only reason we stopped going everyday was because we were eating far too many cakes, cookies and brownies. (I mean can you really ever have too much?) Now we head there every month at least... A great thing is that they always update their menu on their instagram and they deliver. They also do custom orders if that’s what you’re in need of! I would definitely recommend if you have a sweet tooth. - They’re reasonably priced, some things I think are a little too expensive, but it’s one of those things where your ok paying a little more when the quality is great! I would recommend the birthday cake batter ice cream, cookie dough ice cream, salted caramel cornflake brownie, cookie pie and everything else. Will miss these guys when I emigrate back to NZ at the end of the month.

Cookie pudding was excellent. Filled with biscoff spread, it was not too sweet. Solo cookie had nice doughy texture, very nicely done. Service genuine and warm. Will visit again. I need something with peanut butter for that extra star though...😉
