Called in on Friday tea time around 16.45 not busy taken to a seat across from the serving area the fire exit door was wide open blowing into our table it was freezing . The staff behind the counters was more interested in talking to each other and to the guys making the waffles.two waiting staff one seating and one explaining how to order ni smiles no interaction. . Got cappuccinos after dessert the cappuccino coffee tasted as if they had burnt the coffee it was vile . No check back and the staff was just wondering to a covered staff area where I presume they have their breaks not a good experience and not welcoming . A shame because the desserts was very nice just no guest care whatsoever.

Agree with all the other 1 star reviews. Staff were rude and patronising. I ordered a crepe and got asked “do you want cream or ice cream” which I replied “ice cream” which was an extra charge of £2.95 but I didn’t get any warning. I said “is the ice cream extra charge” and she replied “yes it’s at the top of the menu for extras” and pointed to a physical menu that was never given to me, I was only told to scan a QR code and look at the menu on there but cannot order through. There was no mention of an extra charge for ice cream or cream on there which is what I said to her. She replied “well it does say it on there”. And I replied “well the picture actually shows cream on so I assumed it just came with it”. Just really rude staff, no customer service skills whatsoever. Don’t put people on the front desk if they can’t be polite. Turns out I looked on deliveroo and whipped cream was an extra £1 on there and so was whippy ice cream which is what I assumed I was getting because the receipt just said vanilla and she gave me no choice of ice cream. I then realised she hadn’t given me whippy ice cream and had just charged me £3 for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I got my boyfriend to go up and ask for it to be changed to hazlenut chocolate ice cream which wasn’t an issue but I should’ve been given an option in the first place not just forced into paying an extra £3. When the dessert arrived guess what, there was whipped cream on the crepe! So I was correct and it did come with it! Surely their own staff should know the menu. There’s even pictures on the QR code and physical menu which she loved regretting to do it’s really not that hard.

Awsum experience ,as service was excellent and quick ….i tried their Raspberry crepe which was great in taste ….Excellent ambiance dine-in for families.

This is a dedicated dessert restaurant with a great selection. Good quality and fairly quick service. Staff very good as it was my birthday. Very enjoyable first visit

I love their Victoria sponge cake. Very nice and cool atmosphere. If you want to go somewhere fun and as a treat with the family I would definitely go here!

Well i am truly dissapointed. To a horrendous level. The ladies serving behind the counter, are Rude, patronising, have ZERO manners and customer service skills. I went with friends, there was a problem with the deserts we ordered, it was definitely "off" ice cream looked like it was licked by a dog. When we called the waiter over, he took it away only to bring it back with the manager saying nothing we can do in an extremely rude manner. Asian lady apparently a manager with zero respect and manners.

I will not be returning to 39 desserts after another disappointing visit. This place used to be decent and it’s completely fallen off. We found hair in our food and the staff didn’t really seem concerned at all, I’m sure hairnets are supposed to be worn, after about 5 minutes a staff member came over but didn’t offer any refund, just took the item away. Prices seem to have gone up but the money isn’t being used to refurbish the place, the seats are battered, the signs falling off and the toilets are dreadful, broken sinks and broken doors, and they stink.

Andy the supervisor was abrupt, rude and unsympathetic! We only had a Scottish £20 note to pay for the desserts for our children and wouldn’t allow us to buy the food! He gave no explication or even an apology!

Nice but very expensive for what it is. Wouldn't go again because of the cost being too high. Shame because it was a nice treat for the kids.

First time at the place. Went for my daughters birthday with friends, expected the expense but not service we got, wasn’t very busy and was told the menu was out dated and had to use QR code on table, that didn’t work as worn down so had to try another table, eventually saw the menu but did t realise u had to order at the counter. Stood there while one staff was making milkshakes and 2 others were just stood talking behind me. Eventually got served. Don’t get me wrong the desserts were plentiful and nice but forgot one of orders which was a sundae. When I asked they looked puzzled thenSaid it’s nearly ready. Watched em make it up there and then so they had forgot it. Never checked if everything was alright, so I could ask for a takeaway box had to go look for someone. Plates were cleared after we left Definitely not worth the hype

We popped to 39 Desserts as a birthday treat having never been before but heard great things. So much to choose from it was hard to decide but I opted for the hot cookie dough and it was chocolate heaven !! The young ones are already pestering to go back.

I second damion’s 39 excuses review. As we walked in there was left over plates rising to the sky from the night before on show. The waiter taking orders was chewing gum and then forgot to add a smartie waffle to the order, my uncle then cried and locked himself in the toilet as his hunger became too much. Whilst i’m on the subject, there was a clog in the toilet preventing it from flushing and so there was only one toilet available. We agreed that the food was nice, apart from my uncle. He had to scape the leftovers from our plate. The menu was different to access, we struggled to get the menu from the worn down Qr code on the table. Well said daimon, and good luck to future customers.

The service was horrible.No manners.The menu was difficult to access as you had to use your phone.However a young boy got a menu when all other family’s had to use the app you can’t even order on the app My stepdad ordered with the notes app and showed it to the employee When the foood came after a long time of waiting it occurred that his smartie waffle hadn’t come through On a table near to the toilets a pile of plates was not even to mention the toilets which were blocked and looked atrocious In conclusion I’d looked at the reviews on the way and they weren’t pleasant I persevered through thinking past it. I left hungry and I will definitely not be going again. I wish whomever who goes there good luck I don’t recommend it I visited a few years ago and it really good but now it’s is just a deteriated mess. I wish you good luck going there. Called in for a takeaway ice cream sundae. Sorry to say that this place has gone down hill. I have visited with friends and family lots of times before and even had deliveries from them. This time the chocoholic sundae which I ordered was very boring. Instead of the usual thick chocolate sauce it had weird tasting chocolate syrup. The ice cream was quite icy, consisting of 2 blobs and there was no cream topping or wafer biscuit to finish it off. It cost £7.95

First time visiting 39 deserts today. Son goes all the time and have been dying to go! We were in the area so decided to pop in today for a treat. Was greeted with a member of staff who seated us. Asked for a menu and despite having some decided to just tell us to scan QR code on phone to see menu. Thought easier to just put menus on tables but that was only small complaint. Ordered at counter easily. Could also see all the other flavours of ice cream so had options. Came upto around £28 for 2 deserts with flavoured ice cream and 2 diet cokes. Bit pricey but it's fine as a treat. Looking round the restaurant it wasnt packed and only people who was sat in when we arrived were couples or a small group of adults. Came around 10 mins later to the table. Looked amazing! Staff was friendly. It tasted absolutely gorgeous and was very filling. It was well worth the visit, glad our first experience was nice and looking forward to another treat sometime soon. Highly recommend to anyone visiting centertainment.
