2MT Caffe in Chelmsford

Popped in this week for breakfast. Was very impressed. Reasonably priced food but beautifully cooked. Very friendly service. Both of us said we will definitely return

WOW !! 🤩 - what a great place. A beautifully stunning waitress Ili welcomed me & my friend this am for 9:30am breakfast. Absolutely faultless service & food. I’m also in Hospitality & so my standards are super high. Ili is amazing at her job & the super fresh food & decor was very pleasing too. Congratulations on your great establishment - will definitely be returning to sample lunch & dinner. 🥇⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Through the Foodmunkey Awards 2023 you voted for 2MT as the Best Breakfast in Chelmsford so naturally I had to check it out and drop off their exclusive Award! Situated on Roxwell Road next to Roxwell Hand Car Wash you can even grab a coffee or snack while you get your car valeted. Actually as one of my followers pointed out they go to that car wash just to get chips and their epic chip sauce from 2MT Cafe! The venue is cozy and welcoming and the staff are super friendly and attentive! The menu covers breakfast lunch and dinner with an enviable selection of German Beer that would make Oktoberfest jealous. But we were there for the breakfast, a full English cooked to perfection (as you can see from the yolk porn) with flavourful sausages that had just the right amount of herbs in without it being overpowering. The Shashuka with chorizo was perfect. This is Mrs Foodmunkey’s all time favourite breakfast dish and is very hard to please… she hasn’t stopped talking about how good it was since. There’s even a “Tiny Tummies” menu which little Foodmunkey had a little full English. Baby foodmunkey you can see smashing his beans on toast. With a welcoming atmosphere, the option to sit outside in the summer and the benefit of maybe just maybe letting someone else clean your car while you eat, we will definitely be back to 2MT Cafe to sample the rest of the menu. I have driven past this place so many times and decided to go for breakfast this morning and was not disappointed. Quite unassuming from the front, but very nice inside with a nice vibe. The coffee was good and I really enjoyed the food. I had sourdough bread with poached eggs, mushrooms, chorizo, spinach and peppers, the flavours worked really well together. I will definitely return!

This cafe really is the best cafe in Chelmsford easily. The food is cooked to order so deliciously fresh and hot. The staff are lovely. PLEASE TRY IT AND PASS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO KEEP THIS CAFE GOING. It is that good! Mel

This restaurant is hidden away off the main road in a small parking lot with other small shops and a car wash. I was rather expecting a greasy spoon type affair. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Inside the restaurant is small but compact. An open plan kitchen and a bar and seating for about 20. There is a mezzanine but that seems not to be in use. The decor is nice and everything is clean. At £12.95 the breakfast is not cheap but it is absolutely worth it. Expect to wait a little bit for your food but that is only because it is really beautifully cooked. My breakfast was delicious. Good ingredients cooked to perfection. It was beautiful to look at too. All items on the plate, no sloppy serving here. Beans on the side. Immaculate. Well worth the money when it’s served like that. I’ll be back. Superb.

We came in after a dog walk in the local area, I'm vegetarian and they have some great choices, my partner had a beef burger (homeade) and said its the best he has had in years! Highly recommended

Went for breakfast no one in there took 40mins for food and then for what you pay tiny portions and over cooked won’t be returning

Delicious food - freshly prepared - friendly staff - great coffee - clean and tidy seating areas… I can’t think of any reason not to visit! We always visit early morning so have only had the breakfasts.

Excellent place with fresh great food! Everyone needs to try it as you won’t be disappointed! Good to see an independent restaurant in Chelmsford for a change. We need many more!

Two friends who ride out on motorbikes always on the lookout for a good cafe. Have passed this cafe many times on motorbikes and cars but never stopped. Today we deliberately did to give it a try about 1045. Good well maintained outside areas with easy parking. Inside is modern, bright, light and absolutely spotlessly clean including male and female toilets. Also a lovely outside terrace. Enclosed for the winter and with over table heaters. We had two small all day breakfasts and a coffee each. Good coffee and food cooked to perfection and perfectly presented on the plate. Only negative is the plate was not warm which we both dislike as it quickly cools your food, but on this occasion easily forgiven as everything else was so good. Waitress table service with friendly smile, fast and efficient. We will return and also recommend to other bikers and will go again in cars with our wives. Excellent and diverse menu ranging through fish, meat, vegetarian and vegan so something for everyone. Prices range from cheap to mid range and to us seemed very fair for the quality and range of food on offer, service and condition of premises. Almost an American diner but with a continental feel and service.

This cafe is just amazing. Spotlessly clean. Attentive staff. 5 star food and good value. Lovely atmosphere and decor. I'd bring my mum here anytime

Me and the Mrs popped in here today as we've driven past hundreds of times and wondered what the food is like... we both wish we'd stopped sooner! We both had the Full English Breakfast and it is one of, if not the best breakfasts we've ever had (and we've had many)! You can tell that really good quality ingredients have been used - none of your usual cheap cafe sausages here! It was all sooo good and you can tell that everything was freshly cooked to order. We saw some other people's food and that looked just as good, with everyone saying how good the food was as they left... I should probably point out that I don't work for (or related to) the cafe! The cafe is very clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming here again soon!

Basically you can’t fault anything . Lovely staff , excellent chef and really really good food !! Don’t moan if you have to wait as all cooked to order !
