Lovely place, definitely worth visiting. Great, tasty food. Fantastic selection of cake and amazing hot chocolate! Also in the area little farm shop and bakery.

A little wait, but a sign of a good pla e to eat. You get a pager which alerts you when your table is ready, a great idea, as you can visit the other shops on site. Food was excellent, deserts/cakes plentiful and tasty. Good value for money, lovely food. Would highly recommend .

Very busy little tea room with very good food.

Food was bland, tasting only really of "sugar" rather than the supposed flavours. Older staff incredibly rude and grumpy, even when customers were smiling and being friendly with them.

Had a lovely breakfast here yesterday. Very nice hot chocolate and biscoff iced late, treated ourselves with a takeaway tiffin (one biscoff, one cranberry and white chocolate) very quick and friendly service, faultless

A perfect stop off if travelling to or from the Lakes. The Smashed Avocado was cooked to order and was a great choice for breakfast. The locally roasted Farrers Flat White - an ideal accompaniment. Such friendly service - well worth calling in you’re visiting the Farm Shop.

Can't fault the place at all the cafe had really nice food and coffee and the service was on point. Would highly recommend.

A lovely place to have food and drink.

We came here for an afternoon tea with our friends who we were visiting, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The staff are kind, professional, and enthusiastic. They have such positive attitudes and put pride into their work. The tea was great, the food was divine, and the overall visit was perfect. I wish I had taken photos before we started on the food, these don't do justice to how lovely everything was.

Great cafe slightly off the beaten track. The pea and ham soup was incredible A+++

I have NEVER felt so disappointed and victimised in an apparently friendly place!!!! I called last week to ask about wheelchair accessibility to be told, we don’t take bookings you take your chance. Foolishly we did go we were met with a hostile owner who told me to take my disabled Mum to wait outside in the icy wind. Needless to say we won’t be back and warning to anyone with disabled members in their party avoid at all costs!!

One of the best bacon ciabatta rolls I've ever had. Very tasty and good amount of bacon and sausage. A little expensive but not for a farm shop style café, it is as you would expect.

A busy place! Food was decent, really enjoyed my Coronation Chicken sandwich. They could do with offering chips as a side but it's well worth a visit.

Disappointingly underwhelmed on my first visit here. I had a piece of chocolate cheesecake, which was neither chocolate or cheesecake funnily enough.... It was just a very bland sponge thing. The half a strawberry on the side of my plate was rotten when i turned it over. I won't be rushing back.

Lovely cafe serving simple, high quality food. Coffee is perfectly made without burning the milk and the morning Bacon bap, using freshly baked bread from the Artisan Bakery next door is the best. Yum!

We were a party of 3 on a Thursday, who had brunch on our way to Borrowdale. A table was found straightaway although there were quite a lot of people inside. We had 2 Full English breakfasts and a crushed avocado on toast. All the food was hot and tasty. Service was attentive. We found a decent parking spot close to the entrance. Would definitely eat here again and recommend to others.

Super cafe with top quality food. Lovely inside or has a fab decked area outside that is pooch friendly. Staff are great and prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking and good location 👌 we stayed the other side of kendal but returned here 3 times for breakfast.

I feel the need to be brutally honest as there is quite a strong competition with breakfast in and around the UK. All in all, the full breakfast came out relatively quickly. It was fresh and hot. Unfortunately, the sausages were a bit underwhelming and being attached to a farm shop I guess I was assuming they would be better quality. We did not have coffee, which was a first for us, because it was just too expensive.

Breakfast, tea, coffee & cakes all great on two visits. Not a big place so can fill up & a tad noisy (I've a touch of hearing loss/hyperacusis so ambient noise is noticeable, not too bad here) but the staff are very friendly & helpfful, plus there is covered outdoor seating and ample parking - we visited in late April off season, I imagine it's very busy in Kendal's busy season.

Nice food, nice staff but slightly pricey

Lovely decor, sightly small people expected to share tables but overall very pretty. Sadly that's all it has going for it. We asked for well done breakfasts, a tea and an iced latte. The breakfasts were barely cooked let alone well done, low quality ingredients despite the £10 price tag. The ice latte came with whipped cream which wasn't asked for and when sent back the owner made it abundantly clear she wasn't very happy. It was deeply uncomfortable from there as the drink that came back out was OBVIOUSLY the same drink with the cream removed and devoid of any ice. In an ice latte. When these issues were fed back to the owner she very abruptly and rudely insisted we were wrong and ushered us out as quickly as possible. Over all an awkward and uncomfortable experience we won't be seeking to repeat. A few moments into Kendal will give you a number of delightful and well serviced alternatives, with more reasonable prices to boot.

Worth the stop if you are in the area for a lovely breakfast or lunch. Great selection of home made cakes and the staff are lovely as well. It does get busy so it's always best to get there early to get a table !

Wow, what a find. Spectacular veggie breakfasts (other types are available) washed down by amazing coffee all at reasonable prices. Staff are super friendly and service very prompt.

Friendly staff and good food. But it's not just the café there are other shops also , farm shop, Bakers etc.

Great food and service, this place is always busy, so be prepared ro wait a few minutes for a table to become available. There ARE other businesses at Plumgarths that are well worth a look while you wait.

Absolutely awful, over fancy over priced and ended up with FOOD POISONING 🤮🤮 waited for over half an hour for a sandwich on my lunch break. It only came with one slice of bread as a takeaway item? So messy, staff weren't very friendly either. This was all I had yesterday and it just sat heavy on my stomach all day and then was really ill all night and have had to take a day off work. So it's the most expensive sandwich I've ever eaten to end up ill, safe to say I won't ever eat here again!

not a great menu no all day day breakfast

Very busy, I would advise booking a table if you can, though you can go on a waiting list if needs be. Staff very friendly and helpful, it is clean too. The homemade coleslaw is worth going for alone. We had baked potatoes and they were fluffy and soft. We brought cakes back to eat as we were full. The prices are very competitive, definitely worth more than one visit.

Very good. Slight wait to be seated but they operate a 'buzzer' system so you can walk around the small commercial park before being called to your table. There is a good range of food, and the quality is very good, and all reasonably priced. The chicken ciabatta was very tasty and the side salad was delicious. It's a querky cafe with a nice cosy feel.

Very relaxing place friendly atmosphere

Dropped in on chance as we were passing, it's probably worth booking as it was quite busy. I had an egg, bacon and sausage on ciabatta, very tasty I noted they serve a full English breakfast up until midday and intend to try it sometime. There was a good choice of cakes on display and the coffee is good so coffee and cake that's another thing to try in future. Enjoyed the food would recommend. There is a nice bakery on site so well worth dropping in.

This cafe is a true gem; well worth the small detour from the main road. The shops here are a great place to pick up local foods and drinks...

Love this place ideal position having driven up the M6 to pull in and have a refreshing pick me up of food and drink before carrying on with our journey highly recommend this place for the very friendly welcome from the girls and always ready to have a chat 👏👍

Lovely place to stop for a bite to eat. Home made soup and delicious looking cakes. Friendly staff and prices are reasonable. Pot of tea was just what was needed.

A tiny gem. Attached to a (very good) butchers and grocery store, this is a lovely place. Excellent choice of cakes, sandwiches and more substantial fare. Great service and reasonable prices. There are tables outside in the summer and a warm stove inside in the colder months. Ample parking.

Thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast roll. Thought it was ace. Would be 5 stars but the carpark was very busy (not their fault but it lowers my enjoyment). The full english was purchased by someone else and looked bloody delicious. Would happily go back.
