1931 in Liverpool

A really good pizza restaurant in a great location on Hope Street. Food is very good as is the ambience and it's opposite the Liverpool Philharmonic so ideal if going to a show. An easy recommendation.

Service was not great waited a long time to be served in a rather empty restaurant. Pizza was average and mozzarella dippers were burnt. We’re given warm table water in a dirty glass. No ice offered in drinks. Mixed antipasti board overpriced for what you get. Would not recommended or go again.

Atmosphere wasn't brilliant but that was our fault. We arrived at 12pm as soon as the doors opened so we were the only ones there. No matter though, because we were there for the food, and that did not disappoint. I had the Napoletana pizza and my wife had the vegan pide pizza. I can honestly say they were the best pizzas we've had since we were last in Italy. Absolutely fantastic and a good size too, so I was stuffed when I'd finished, but I was not going to leave any 😀 Highly recommended, and we will be going back

Nice place to get a decent pizza or pasta dish. Menu is somewhat limited, but they can cater for vegi's, coeliac's etc. You won't have trouble finding something you want. Quiet, no hassle dining. Recommended.

The vegan pizza here is delicious!! The vegan cheesecake is amazing too

Very good pizza and pasta quality. Very friendly service (note: a 10% gratuity is added to the bill by default, not very common in Liverpool), and calm atmosphere. The only downside is how the menu is priced. I think 1931 would benefit from slghtly reducing their prices and/or offering flash discounts and/or seasonal menu changes to attract more customers that haven't necessarily booked a hotel room.

The restaurant is lovely but the food is fairly average. The mozzarella garlic bread smelt a lot better than it tasted.

Really nice restaurant, the arrabbiata was really good! Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. It was a nice touch having a jug of water. I’d definitely recommend going!

Very attentive and pleasant service, very good food

I tried pasta bolognese and arrabbiata. Both were tasteless and very wet! I don’t recommend.

Eat here whenever we're going to the Philly. Nice atmosphere even when it's quiet, good service and pleasant staff. Prices are competitive.

Great vegan options. I had the vegan panzanella salad which was amazing. Would well recommend it and will be back soon to try the other options inc. Pizza. My husband and I had our wedding at this hotel and they fully understand what vegan means.

What a great place for quality pizzas crammed with toppings. One of the nicest I've had in years and reasonably priced too for the size. Highly recommend the place

Wasn’t told about the lunch deal even though I went within the timeframe. Why have a promotion if you don’t really want people to use it. Outside of the lunch deal it’s really overpriced (£15.50) for a rather blah pizza. I got the Quattro one where the anchovies and capers together weren’t balanced at all. Plus they charged me compulsory gratuity. Wouldn’t waste my time going there.

Lovely relaxing evening , and attentive friendly service from waitress. Freshly prepared food arrived quickly . Good atmosphere whilst not unpleasantly noisy.

The food was amazing! They have a great variety of pizzas, pasta and drinks. The staff are lovely and kindly. Also, the restaurant is located in a cozy area.

OK. I had a takeaway pizza which was a bit tasteless tbh. It needed salt. It looked to me like the dine in pizzas were bigger, though I can't be sure. £15 for a fairly tasteless takeaway pizza. Nice staff.

Great meal, very attentive staff

Amazing food as you would expect from part of Hope Street Hotel. Great place that's more relaxed than the London Carriage Works restaurant and so easier to go with children as well. Food was outstanding and staff so friendly. Didn't feel rushed.

A fantastic place to have an Italian. I had a Carbonara pizza which was lovely. They do their own draught lager which was very good. The restaurant was immaculate and even were the toilets. Would definitely visit again.

The pizza was good but not remarkable. The quality of dough and ingredients was satisfactory and I didn't feel too full after eating a full pizza (which is a good sign). However, it's not the best pizza in Liverpool. The dessert menu is very good and we had the sundae that was very rich and I appreciate the contrast of consistency between ice cream and marshmallows. The service was a bit average: the staff was kind and respectful but they forgot the order of our drinks, so we had to remind them. I like the position on Hope Street but the location itself it's also cosy enough but nothing outstanding. In summary, it was good but nothing struck to my eyes.

Lovely lady served me and was super efficient. The restaurant was clean and modern and I liked the fact you can see the chefs making everything. The food was clean and fresh and I even tried a desert pizza. Well priced and set in a lovely central location it was ideal after a show at the Hot Water Comedy Club. Perfect. My only criticism was the lack of basic condiments, salt, pepper and sauces to dip the crusts in. Oils and Aioli would complement all dishes.

Had a wonderful meal here a little while back. There was a wonderful Viking looking man making the pizzas, possibly the most beautiful man I’ve seen…making the most beautiful pizzas. Thank you

Best pizza I've had in Liverpool.

Loved this place, ate here during our long stay at Hope Street. The most important aspect is the very accommodating and helpful staff. The food is great too, try the 1931 pint, any pizza, and the chicken Caesar salad.

An excellent less formal addition to the London Carriage Works restaurant. Good food with a nice wine & drinks selection. Friendly service & they have a pizza oven. Worth a return visit.🙂

Fairly nice pizza but beware of the ridiculous price for a beer - £9.25 for a pint of Peroni, in a bottle, not even on draught. Appalling and exploitative.

The most delicious Pizza hand made while you enjoy a drink . Simply a stunning venue with a relaxing chilled vibe .

The fact that you cannot even reply to the comment here is all the evidence I need and its not a small business its owned by the Hope street hotel that pays its staff minimum wage for hard labour whilst they rake all the money in.

I had a lovely pizza here, authentic thin base, which you can watch them stretch and toss on the premises. My wife really enjoyed her pasta sauce. The kids' gluten-free pizzas were really good too. We'll be back!

Restaurant set in the old police station

This is such a wonderful find. The food is delightful and the staff are fantastic. Pizza, tompasta, pide. The mezze was great. Sun dried tomato hummus is fantastic. Lamb pide, great, wild boar ragu, also amazing. It's definitely a hidden gem. Reasonable prices and so well located

Really great spot. Was staying in the hotel and had the porcini pizza and Bellini! I normally like tomato on a pizza but this was up there with the best pizza I’ve ever had. Lovely staff and atmosphere as well. Top restaurant. 🍕

Amazing place. Stylish, calm, and very good food. Amelia was so friendly!! She made us feel very welcome. We will be back for sure!
