12th Street Burgers + Shakes Southend in Southend-on-Sea

Ordered at about 8:20pm, by 9:20 checked and apparently the order was completed, it wasn't, spent 30 minutes calling the store to ask where my order was, my partner went down to the store as they was closing at 10pm, he got there at 9:46 and they are closed. We don't have our order, I had been calling since 9:25 and no one was answering to find that the restaurant has actually closed early and we don't have our food at all. We spent £50.

Very friendly staff and quick service time, the food and milkshakes are amazing

Absolute shocking delivery service, only half the order arrived and the restaurant wasn’t interested…..great birthday!!!!

We were missing half our delivery order but did not receive a replacement. We got a refund but only £7 and the missing items totalled £14

Ordered kebabs from Mad About Doner (this is the same restaurant) whilst the meat was fairly nice the orders were messed up. Ordered 1 kebab with just slaw and onion and no sauces and the other kebab with everything, they labeled the plain one as spicy and the other one as plain. Firstly the sauce luckily enough was not spicy at all and the garlic mayo had no garlic taste, the salad was sloppy. The plain one had some extra salad. Would not order from here again and the only good thing out of the whole order was the meat.

Milkshake was thick and flavourful and the burger was piping hot the best way to serve food

Had the Philly cheese steak in house this afternoon with fries and a Dr. Pepper. Absolutely banging. So reasonably priced too. Highly recommended!

Food was on point I ordered the Bird and Cow and would recommend to anyone going there and feeling peckish, 10/10 would go again

Food came cold and dry There was a burger missing Called the shop, guy told me it wasn’t his fault , argued with me, and hanged up the phone Idiyots

The atmosphere was good but my partner had wings and they came out very pink. They also have her the wrong order, when she asked to get the right one (we wasn’t going to make a fuss) he gave us a dirty look and walked away. It didn’t end up coming so she asked for a refund in the end. I also had a burger that they ended up burning

Food arrived cold , burgers were flat like they were squashed, couldn’t eat them wouldn’t even feed to my dogs .Totally disgusting have requested a refunded

Awful, beef burger was ok but that was it. Chicken burger so greasy I could not eat. I ordered no BBQ sauce and they had obvious put sauce in by mistake and then scrapped it out. Build you own chicken burger you have to add a two fillets which is too much hence I order the bbq burger no BBQ sauce. Wings pure grease. Sauces poorly packed so the ranch has spilled all over the food so was really messy and also no sauce left for the chips. Mayo also spilled out the tub a bit.

Had 2 burgers that were tasty. Arrived hot and had good taste.the only thing I would say the smashed burgers that are advertised are not smashed patties and are your standard 1/4lb burgers . nonetheless would order again

Food was the nuts. Hubby said best chicken burger he’s had. Negatives - oats a slap when they charge you £1 each to add slice American cheese when description says comes with cheese, you can’t not tick it, and tablespoon coleslaw in a burger £1 rip off. And large chips 4 quid. Very poor value for what you got. And doesn’t give you option to not have bbq sauce or take ingredients off. Wouldn’t order regular because of the price £30 quid chicken burger with cheese coleslaw, Philly cheese steak ,

Staff are welcoming and friendly, the food was amazing - I definitely recommend this place!

I went there this morning with friends and we were thrilled with the amazing food that was fairly priced and excellent drinks. The staff was friendly and altogether a great atmosphere. Definitely would recommend and i will be going there again

Driver decided to go 20 minutes the wrong way to I assume deliver another order, and then the delivery driver didn’t even deliver my food to me as I have proof from a ring camera and photos. Disappointed. Put in a compensation request for Just Eat. As I can’t give 0 star, I’ll give 1. But not happy.

Not as described. No gurkins in burger and save yourself £5 and get a basic McDonald’s cheese burger. Similar size n tastes better 👍

Absolutely delightful! This milkshake exceeded my expectations. It was perfectly creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. The flavors were rich and satisfying, leaving me craving more with every sip. Highly recommend giving this milkshake a try!

My chips and burger were cold, but my milkshake was warm. How does that happen?

Went to KFC but there were no tables and spotted this next to it so I thought I will try it. I have ordered Dynamite chicken burger. When it was served it looked really plain and burned. It tasted the same. Very dry, salty and burned. There were 3 options of heat - medium, hot and insane. I ordered insane and it was barely medium, maybe due to the lack of sauce they put it in. After eating I have looked on the menu again and noticed that my burger should come with lettuce which my didn't have but it was too late to mention it. Unfortunately will not be back again. It would be 1 star but fries were good so extra star for that. Btw it was Saturday lunch time and place was empty. I think due to the fan heater on the ceiling on full blast. I had to change table twice just go find the right spot as I couldn't breathe it was so hot in there.

TL;DR - great food, but service is lacking. I've ordered from here a few times myself. The food is amazing, much more premium than other burger places in town. Top notch stuff 👌 I also work as an Uber & Just Eat delivery driver and frequently collect orders from here. Last week was the third time I had a really bad experience. I arrived, gave the staff my order number, and was told to wait 15 minutes. That's totally understandable - it's a busy Friday night and they had plenty of walk-in customers. I came back after 15 mins, and enquiried about my order, and was told to come back in 20 mins. The member of staff didn't even check my order details, just fobbed me off with the 20 minutes. I had to tell him I've already waited 15 minutes and asked if he can double check whether the order is ready. He kindly checked and insisted I wait another 20 minutes. No apology, totally indifferent and carried on talking to someone else. I don't mind waiting - in fact, I expect it. But I draw the line at outright lying to people, or at the very least, setting false expectations. If you can't manage your delivery orders in a timely manner - go offline for a bit, pause. If you don't know how long an order will take to prepare - just tell me that and be honest! Customers and drivers alike won't usually mind waiting - as long as we're told about it and expectations are managed. That way I'll know to cut my losses immediately and unassign myself from it, or come back in half an hour, on the off chance it'll be ready by then. I'll be happy to update my review if, in future, I've had a positive experienced consistently over multiple visits.

Food was freezing cold and the driver took over an hour and a half to come

the restaurant kept changing the delivery time and pushing it back and ended up being over an hour later than the original time they stated. The food was nice although they definitely put the wrong type of chicken in the chicken burger as it was so spicy and wasn't meant to be spicy at all. We tried calling the restaurant a few times for an update on our order but they never picked up the phone

Incredibly rude customer service agent Sharon gave me the wrong order and then upon complaining about it made me wait 15 to 20 minutes without any feedback. Then she proceeded to argue with me about the order and wouldn't agree to switch it and argued that I'd eaten the order when I hadn't and without them checking the facts. Wasted my entire lunch hour and shoddy customer service with very overpriced menu for what it is. I will never return to this store again. On top of their very bad customer service for example leaving the shop front empty for 5 to 10 minute at a time, failed to acknowledge their mistake or apologise to any extent

Ordered large chips and half were missing

4/10 is generous. Food has next to no flavour or is too salty no inbetween. Go wingstop instead

Wasn’t the best, food was late and was cold, the milkshake I ordered was all over the food so only had a a little left to drink. Was very disappointing. Delivery driver was very apologetic

Ordered at 5.37pm, receipt said collect 6.05pm, recieved order at 7.05pm. Had to reheat the whole order as it was freezing, chicken burger was burnt, also ordered a large Chips and a regular chips, both were the same size portion. Will not be ordering from here again!

Not good. The ice cream was in the same bag as the hot food and the lid was loose which meant it went everywhere

Actually for the money a decent burger and fries, at least as good as Burger King with a variety of different burgers. I had hollumi with a chill sauce. Very nice.

Delivered slightly later than expected. Slushy was completely melted and milkshake was watery. Cookie dough was literally a hard cookie in a box, onion rings soggy and cold. Very disappointed as have had much better from these guys. Will not be ordering again

AVOID! Food was cold, had been sitting there for an hour and twenty minutes. Paid £21.51 for two burgers that were smaller than my hand, and 4 boneless bites that tasted bland. Food was horrible, and SO overpriced.

Wrong burger sent and wrong size chips

The burgers are nice, but the american deserts, although lovely are misleading on price. The options for ice-cream or whipped cream both have free written on but both say +£1. So you end up having to pay 2 extra pounds for both of these when you might not want it. Its wrong and needs correcting. Also if the cream and ice-cream are not available, you can't get a desert at all which is harsh. Please sort this out ASAP.

Disgusting! Received both my milkshakes which were completely destroyed in the bag. Contacted restaurant 10x in which they did not respond had to go to the restaurant myself and they blame the driver and then tell me they can’t do anything about it! Appalling do not order from here!

I asked for a plain chicken burger. I explained this meant that the burger would have nothing on it except for the chicken itself. The woman I spoke to still kept on asking me if I wanted stuff (like gherkins) on it or not. I never said anything about taking my order out for collection, but they put my burger wrapped in foil in a paper bag. When I confronted them about this, they said I’m supposed to use the foil as a plate. They have no plates. They should explained this beforehand. Also, I couldn’t understand the servers accents the entire time. The chicken burger was bad. It was too greasy and I feel like the chicken was raw. On the inside, it was slightly pink and when I bit into it felt like I was biting into muscle. I was the only person waiting for my meal in the restaurant, and it still took the staff a long time to prepare my meal.

First time ordering and I'm impressed. Beef is well seasoned and melts in your mouth. Mozzarella sticks and Mac bites were fresh and hot too. Chicken burger although wasn't very crispy, tasted lovely and was very tender. Happy (and full) fat man. Will be returning! 🤣

It takes for ever the food is okay and to expensive and the food smells

After waiting for a very long time I called the restaurant and they said the food had been ready for 30 mins but they are waiting for the driver. Even though they are supposed to cook the food as the driver arrives to get it. They even the foil wrapping is supposed to keep it warm. The delivery driver arrives at 9pm and says he has no idea what happened. It was over an hour late.

Won’t let me put longer than 60 minutes late, everything was cold - wouldn’t bother ordering here be quicker if I crawled on my hands and knees

Very good delivery service and good food

Burger was lovely. The sweet potato fries side were the frozen type you get from the supermarkets. I paid £22 for the double patty burger and side, which is a lot of money for a burger and chips, but I don’t mind for quality. Like I say the burger was great, I just think they need the better quality sweet potato fries like some of the competitors are doing in Southend.

Go to McDonald’s instead , or subway which are both nearby , You will save yourself an absolute fortune by dodging this place . My friend ordered a double burger with only one patty inside and mould on the bun. Markets it’s self as an authentic American diner which reflects their high prices but have cheap nasty ketchup and mayo sachets and serving drinks in a can when sitting in , it’s an overpriced Chicken shop at best , seriously do not be fooled by the California and New York licence plates on the wall .

I like trying places other than your usual fast food joint. Unfortunately walking across the street away from "12th Street" would have been the better option. Friendly staff, but EXTREMELY slow service, and then they got our order wrong. We kept the food anyway, because the wait for the food was too long the first time round. The wings are tiny, and I told my daughter off when she said she didnt like her burger... until I tasted it, and had to apologise to her for telling her off because it was horrific. The onion rings were good though, but I'm not going back there just for the onion rings.

A must place to try. Buffalo Fries is a must. Very good and Friendly staff.

Burgers was delicious, we ordered the buffalo fries had way too much sauce on , we then ordered their dynamite BBQ chicken Wings which took 30 minutes to come out! ,service was ok With a few tweeks this place could be amazing.
