Remarkable place of the highest value and quality. We had the 10 course tasting menu for £40 with the £30 flight of wine. We have had lots of tasting menus, lots well over £100 each, and this was better than many of them. Great produce, brilliantly cooked and varied. The waiters explained the food and the wine pairings beautifully. We live in Yorkshire and we were on business in Glasgow. The restaurant is about 15 mins from the city centre and we used Uber- around £10 each way and no problems getting them on a Saturday night. A quality, memorable experience. Brilliant. We will definitely be back.

How do they do it? Or how do others get away with it? We had dinner early on a Sunday evening. Five course fixed menu with wine flight and pre-drinks for two people for 150 quid. Not everyone will like the idea of dissecting the dishes to work the ingredients but we loved it, even if we weren't very good at it! We would thoroughly recommend 111 by Modou and would come again if we're in Glasgow - maybe to try the extended menu.

We went for the 10 course mystery menu on Monday. Booked at 16.45, very pleased to see a full restaurant already. Very good service, knowledgeable members of staff, very well matched wine flight to go with the menu. The menu itself it’s very reasonably priced for the quality and quantities served. Would be a 5 * review if better dealt with a hair in food issue. Would still definitely recommend this place as it’s a concept that works very well. We’ll be back.

We enjoyed our ten course meal for £40! How do they do it?! Or how do other restaurants get away with it?! Possibly that we saw only one dude behind the pass shooting out plates to four foh staff, and somehow, miraculously, managing to bang everything out with absolute perfection. The dishes on the whole were really good, some just simple tastes but done well, and some very special dishes. The peak - the sea bass at the same time as scallops, both were absolute perfection with the scallops just perfectly on the under side of done to be very wiggly and wobbly, i think the difference between too raw and just past perfect could have only been about 23 seconds max, and it was bang on. The strawberry choux bun dessert was also phenomenal. Wines were decent but accessible pairings. No hesitation to return or to recommend.

Too many flavours on one plate that don’t go together. We had the 10 courses, with matching wines. I didn’t think it was anything special.

Partner and I took lunch today in "111 by Modou" in Glasgow. I believe that this was "111 by Nico" originally. Modou was a Senegalese immigrant who worked for Nico as a KP and rose through the ranks to take over the restaurant. It's located way out in the boonies of Northern Glasgow. We took a train from Queen Street to Kelvindale. Short walk to the small row of shops where it's located. We chose the Critic's Menu which has five "surprise me" courses for £25 pp where you are prompted (if you want) to guess the dish and its components. We chose this. There are some photos to go with dishes. Some not. Too eager to get stuck in. We had an extra starter before the five. Scottish smoked mackerel paté with rhubarb and a goats cheese dish again with rhubarb. Excellent sourdough bread served with tahini and poppy seed butter. Both delicate and both tasted "of themselves". An excellent start. I'd also opted for the matching wine flight £30 pp. Course 1 was potato gnocchi with maitake mushroom. Porcini and truffle emulsion with grated pecorino. Delicious. Course 2 was clearly a risotto. Fennel based not over powering. Pecorino folded through it. Deeply flavoured lamb ragu. Caper and raisin puree. Fennel crisp. Excellent. Trebbiano from Puglia. Went very well. Course 3 was sea bass served over samphire with a mussel and shellfish cappuccino. Partner not into seafood so she had artichoke (Jerusalem) puree. Rapeseed emulsion. Delicious. Palomino Campanate from Galicia. Went very well. Course 4 was slow cooked pork cheeks covered with a bacon crumb. Broccoli. Broccoli puree. Black pudding. Merlot Reserva DO 1902 Rapel Valley Chile. Went very well with the pork. Course 5 was the dessert. Lemon Panna cotta on a Pecan nut crumb. Blood orange and strawberry foam. Strawberry purees. Delightful. Matching wine was from South West France. Didn't write the grape variety down. Sweet and not too alcoholic. Very good match. Great lunch with some nice cheffy touches. I liked the "not knowing" what you're eating. A real challenge to pick out the flavours. I guess a bit like a blind tasting with wine. Much fun! Huge shout out to James who was more like a host at than a manager. Kudos to James! Best lunch so far on the Glasgow lunching tour 2024. Would happily return.

Four of us had a fantastic 10 course menu here complete with wine pairings. We loved the stories on the menu about each course and the staff were all attentive and friendly. The one downer was after our last course when we wanted coffee we were brought the bill and told the table was needed in five minutes…. So no coffeee!!!! Some notice would have been nice!! Think this may have put us of coming back and we were going to book for a 60th birthday .

We visited this week after seeing countless fab reviews. Things to note when we visited, the tables are packed in with little room for the staff to walk between, it was also really warm in there. That aside, the service was so friendly it was a pleasure to eat here and the foot was superb, actually enjoyed every dish from our ten course tasting menu. Just tiny things to work on, perhaps homemade shortbread or a piece of tablet with the coffee rather than a shop bought biscuit in a plastic wrapper. However I’m being super picky bearing in mind it cost £138 for 2 of us including 1 matched wines and my beers. Incredible value for money

We visited on a Monday night and experienced the 10 by Modou menu. It is a 10 course tasting menu where you have to guess the ingredients of each course. It was fun and after each course the waiting staff let you know what the ingredients were. The waiting staff were all cheery and welcoming. We chose to have the matching wine which was 5 different wines to complement the food. I would definitely visit again

Had booked this 10 course tasting meal experience with matching wines on the Black Friday deal - had always wanted to come for this and we were so glad we did! Each dish was a delight - very different from the norm. We ate each dish as it came but the staff check at the beginning if you have any dietary requirements or preferences. Mt favourite dishes were the cauliflower, the sea bass and the flaming coffee brulee! But I enjoyed every one, and the accompanying wines suited the dishes perfectly. (Think we had 6 glasses - lost count!) The restaurant is quite small and very busy - so it's quite noisy. But the staff are attentive and very informative of every dish and wine - it's an experience you have to have!

Both of us had a fantastic 10 course menu here. The stories on the menu about each course were good to read and refer to as each course came to the table. Each and every course was really well presented and super tasty. The extras added to the £40pp for 10 courses, being sourdough bread and scallops, both very nice too. The favourites were roasted cauliflower and sea bass, fantastic , surprisingly so. My husband is now a sea bass covert! The staff were all attentive and friendly. We didn’t have the wine pairings but saw other people gave this and it looked to be good pairing with each course from 3rd course onwards. We will definitely be back when we visit Glasgow in March. What a team!

Fantastic experience and great value for money. Food was faultless and the 10 courses left you feeling a very nice level of full (we didn’t opt for the bread or scallops, both at a supplement). The staff were very nice and friendly and you could see the small team was working hard as to attend to all guests. If I was to offer feedback, I would say that the restaurant could do with losing a table in order to gain more space. Unfortunately with experience in hospitality I understand this is probably not possible. But the whole evening we had staff squeezing between the three tables of two in order to serve our neighbours and other tables. One wrong elbow or movement could of led to knocking a staff member carrying plates or glasses. My seat was also back to back tight with another person seated behind me. However, as a first time diner at this establishment, the food was absolutely fantastic, the paired wine package was great and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tasting menu. Great value also.

This was the best meal I have eaten in the UK. From start to finish the staff were excellent, attentive but not overly involved which I like. We had the trust taster menu which at £25 was ridiculously good value given the quality of food, skill and presentation. We got a sheet of paper whereby you had to guess what each course was (we had been asked if we had any allergies/hates ) and that's what we did. My partner isn't a real seafood fan but we had a course which had coley and mussels on it, he embraced the experience and thoroughly enjoyed the seafood dishes. It was all amazing! We had the aperitif too which was superb and a bottle of red wine. The wine menu was also at accessible price point too. I don't live in Glasgow but will be making a point of revisiting as a treat when we are back. We got a taxi from City Centre and it was £10.

This is my favourite restaurant however due to speaking to a very uninterested male (on their phone line not the restaurant), when I phoned with a query it could easily have fallen from favour. I phoned again and was put in touch with Jess at customer services who saved the day literally and as usual we had a wonderful meal which this time was Total Trust. We really enjoyed trying to guess all the ingredients and on the whole did not too badly. The staff as usual were spot on and good fun.

The taster menu is fantastic. Really accommodating to my fussy partner. I would recommend as dining here is an experience. The service was excellent, welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed to either dress up or dress casual. I liked that it’s not pretentious. Out of 6 courses I loved 5 (the blue murder was the least favourite) But the Chefs exceeded themselves by ensuring dietary requirements were catered for. The detail and flavours to each dish were exceptional. Separate to food and service. Only one critique but small yet important: The bathrooms were not as clean I as I expected (floor corners).

This was the second time we visited this restaurant and this time we did the Trust Menu. This was a great experience as not knowing what the dishes are really makes you consider and appreciate each ingredient, it also makes the meal fun. The sitting was absolutely packed and the young serving team were really up against it but they coped with a lot of charm and enthusiasm. Each plate was beautifully presented and really delicious and the wine pairings were well picked and enhanced the dishes. The quality ingredients and original twists brings a comforting and satisfying combination of familiar favourites and new experiences which meant the evening lived up to our expectations. Finally, for the price I would challenge you to eat better anywhere.

This was an excellent Glasgow restaurant. The whole ambiance of the place was absolutely buzzing, It was really laid back and informal with very good service. The tasting menu along with the wine pairing were great with a vegetarian choice on each course for my partner. Everything I had was beautifully cooked and flavoursome but then I have to come to my usual complaint. 2 pasta courses in a row for the vegetarian. The tortelloni were very nice but then they're followed by a bowl of Fregola covered in mushrooms. As usual it lacks imagination and could easily have been better and more suited to a fine dining experience.

After hearing some great reviews from the likes of the venerable Jay Rayner my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try . It was absolutely fantastic . The decor and atmosphere in the place was marvelous. The staff were really friendly and very knowledgeable. The food was immense. We went for the trust menu which was a fantastic £25pp . It allows the customer to interact and guess what they are eating which is a lot of fun . This is normally the part of my review which goes into the food but I do not want to spoil it for you. Overall every dish was fantastic and you will be very pleased. This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow and I look forward to coming back again .

The restaurant itself was a bit out of the way to get too and we misjudged the walking time from station but luckily they hold the table for 15mins. On arrival, I was surprised at how small and noisy it was. On first impressions, it seemed cramped, and I wasn't expecting staff to be so casually dressed in trainers, etc. Having no smart staff uniform other than aprons seemed odd as staff appeared too casual for the fine dining experience and untidy looking tbh. Perhaps all in black t-shirts/trousers would smarten up staffs presentation. I wasn't keen on our reserved table in the middle of the room at the back, and the seating was cramped as folks struggled to pass between chairs. However, we were keen to try the food and were slightly late, so we didn't request different wall seating that was empty. We had the Trust menu and thought it was a fun concept to guess each course. I liked the speed of service and not waiting too long between courses. I didn't like though the waiter cleaning the plate with his finger before presenting the dish to our table. The food and plates were also cold. It seems to come down from upstairs on a lazy susan, so I'm not sure how long the dishes were ready for before being served. All five courses were mostly enjoyed, and the star dish was the seabass that was so tasty. The least preferred dish was dessert. I didn't feel the flavours complimented each other well. The food truly is what makes this a place to try out. The automatic 10% service charge and charity donation is added to the bill that I don't agree with, I'd rather gift my tip based on the service provided and to not feel obligated to donate to the companys chosen charity when eating out. The only other criticisms were the toilet floors/dusty blinds that need a deep clean. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend the tasting menu as good value compared to some. It was a different experience, though dont expect to be full! We were still hungry, though you can order additional snacks, too. Only due to the location is the reason we probably won't visit again.

We went here on 3 September. If my review was only about the food, I'd give five stars, as it was excellent value for money at £25 for five small courses on the 'total trust' menu. It's certainly worth that price and more. My only criticism concerning the food was the lack of variety. I know the whole point is to put 'total trust' in the chef, but three fish courses was a little excessive. This didn't bother me as I love fish, but my mum, who I was dining with, was a little disappointed. The service had a lot of glitches. We really couldn't understand the man who was serving us, but that's nobody's fault, of course, and we would never be critical just for that, but there were other problems. I got given the wrong wine to start, but it was perfectly pleasant, so I didn't say anything, thinking that it was just a one-off error. We then ordered bread and butter when he came over to the table - it never came for 20 minutes, during which time other people had ordered the same thing with other waiters after us and got it. He clearly hadn't put the order in and we had to chase it up. I was asked if I wanted 'cheese or dessert for my final course' and I picked cheese - he had to come over and tell me that it wasn't available on the menu and that he made a mistake, which is fine, but it was then made clear that I would have gotten both and that the cheese was just an additional course, which wasn't made clear originally. I also ordered a double espresso to finish my meal, but when it came it was a single. I mentioned this to another woman passing who rectified the situation. My mum thought she overhead the waiter saying 'he said a single, not a double', but I can verify this, however I can say that I definitely didn't say that. The man who made all the mistakes said that the espresso was on the house, but, somewhat predictably at this point, it was added to our bill. We enjoyed the aspect of guessing what ingredients were in each dish and being told by the waiter how much of it we got right or wrong. The waiter said we got everything right on one of the courses but then also said the table next to us got everything right on the same course, despite having two different answers. It seems a shame to come up with an interactive and novel concept only to have one waiter who appeared not bothered enough to actually look at our answers properly. We might go back as the other waiting staff seemed excellent and the food was very good, but we'll not be in any rush...

Managed to get a late table at 21.00hr Restaurant a bit out in the outskirts of Glasgow so difficult to get to when you've only just arrived in the city. Relatively novel concept of you choose the main element of the course and chef "creates" a dish for you. Excellent value for five courses (£40). We had several changes of waiting staff during service so no real opportunity to connect with any of the staff. Five course menu with optional snacks and cheeseboard (all at £7 each). We had snack of potato fondant with black pudding and black garlic emulsion (not enough black pudding), seared mackerel with green flavours and dill/ buttermilk, wood pigeon, pork cheek, sea bream, and raspberry dessert. All exceptionally well executed. We wanted the cheeseboard too but staff were already cleaning down the tables around us and re-laying for next service so we felt rushed to finish our meal. Uncomfortable sitting there when all staff waiting to go home . As we left the lights went out.

First trip since Modou took over and it was amazing. We opted for the wine pairings as well as the trust menu and we were blown away. I wouldn’t normally choose raw (ish) fish but the trout was superb and melted in the mouth. The Lamb was amazing with really intense flavours and the black Truffle cigars were lovely. Wines matched really well and we discovered new wines we’ll be tracking down. Service was friendly and professional and having hand sanitizer on the tables was a reassuring touch. Can’t believe how reasonably priced it is - makes it fantastic value. We don’t get to Glasgow as often as we’d like but this restaurant is one place we always put in the must do list for when we come up. It is true that the food is tasty and exciting, and the 10 course tasting menu is a fun experience if you have never tried one before. We had been once before when it was quieter, and were sat in a corner so it felt more intimate, and our waiter (the guy with thick black glasses who I think might be a supervisor) was really good. However as others have mentioned, the tables are generally squeezed so tightly together that you end up being closer to a stranger than whoever you are with, meaning you have to shout to them across the table. This was how we felt on our second visit. I was having the vegetarian 10-course tasting menu, however I was incorrectly brought a non-vegetarian dish. As I didn't fully hear the waiter during his rapid explanation of the dish, I almost ate it, before my husband decided to double-check they had given me the correct dish. It might not sound like a big deal to some, but for anyone who feels very strongly for not eating something (be it allergies, religious reasons or personal reasons) it felt like a violation and was naturally quite upsetting. I was given an apology and a different dish, however I almost felt like I was being a nuisance for bringing this up. I wasn't even offered anything to say sorry; a free drink (for example) would have been a nice gesture and for the cost wouldn't have been too much of a stretch to apologise for the mistake they made. So because of this I feel like the place is let down by sloppy customer service. So, I'd say if you want to experience a tasting menu then it isn't a bad place to try out once, but don't expect the best ambience or customer service. And be very very careful if you have any dietary restrictions.

I never know what to make of these tasting menus or what they are all about. I think in short they seem to be a way to charge a lot of money for very little food but allow the chef's to show skill and technique. If you have never tried a tasting menu before and are flush, give it a bash. It's unlikely you will be disappointed with the food and wine, it's more the lack of food that's might be an issue. We had the 10 course menu for a table of 4, sounds a lot but each dish you could polish with 1 bite no problem and you found your self taking the smallest cuts and slices in an attempt to make it last 5 minutes. The restaurant it's self is fairly out the way 20-25 minute taxi from Queen Street it's a small restaurant and looks to hold around 30 guests. It's a bit snug and we found our self's taking part in the crystal maze when having to visit the rest room, trying our best not to squeeze past other guests while they ate. The staff were really struggling to get coats in order due to lack of space, the coat hanger was also in the main area where you waited on your table so made things a bit chaotic. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable no complaints here. The food was nice, photos included. Not sure about some of the dishes, they can be quite challenging and I didn't necessarily think they all went together but everyone's palate is different. After the meal we moved on for more drinks and found our self's having a second meal 2-3 hours later.

Not many establishments can boast such a relatively unpretentious location yet provide a service which is comparable to “High-end London.” 111 by Nico is today up there with the best. I am reminded of Soho’s “Gay Hussar” in Greek Street with privacy within the shoulder to shoulder dining with the like minded in the 1990’s.The 111 Theatre is a well rehearsed professional presentation by highly trained front of house staff and this artisan approach provides a dining experience unafraid to tackle convention. This is a great show with food of the highest quality arched by wines which lifts the tasting experience to a new level. The challenge for 111 is to maintain the current and develop their concept. The challenge for the patrons is to provide constant comment and encouragement if they wish to enhance this excellent dining experience. 111 by Nico is a two-way street with audience participation an essential element of the recipe.

This was our 3rd visit to 111 and I’ve never been disappointed. The nico experience is always fantastic and I’m a regular at the Six by Nico restaurants (every 6 weeks, so I never miss a menu). 111 is a similar experience in a larger space, the menu is always very creative and makes me try food outwith my comfort zone. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and chatted about each dish and whether or not we liked each one. The wine pairing compliments each dish and staff were able to match white wines perfectly for my friend who doesn’t like red. A 10 minute walk from Hyndland station makes 111 by Nico a hidden gem.

Glasgow is notable for its absence of Michelin starred fine dining restaurants in the past decade. If 111 by Nico is an example of the quality of both food and service you can expect in a city without them then i can live without the obligatory starched white table cloths: it's all about the food, the service and the experience for me.Having been fortunate enough to have eaten in the likes of Amaryllis, le Manoir in Oxfordshire and the Fat Duck in Bray on Thames many years ago when working in London i dont think the tasting menu offering at 111 compares unfavourably to these in any way at all and at a fraction of the price and without some of the unnecessary pretensions.Again the fact that it is not the Ivy, you are unlikely to bump into minor royalty and there is a Spar shop next door has no impact on the passion, commitment and professionalism of the kitchen and waiting staff.Ten out of ten.

My boyfriend and I booked in on a Sunday night (26 January) for the blind 5 course and matching wine for my birthday celebrations. The ambiance and service was excellent. The staff all knew what they were serving and explaining about each wine course. Moving on to the food, the food, they surpassed themselves, each course was amazing from the start right through to the end and the wine choices were second to none. Was well impressed & we will definitely be back. :)

I dined here today (17/1) with my husband for the 6 course tasting menu. Every course was more impressive than the last (if this is at all possible?). The Coley and lamb belly were exceptional but the ‘Pièce de résistance’ has to be the pudding. The staff even accommodated the fact that I’m a bit squeamish about tartare for an outstanding salmon course. Mondou and his team create an exceptional environment topped off with sublime food- I even think it is better than my favourite restaurant in London ‘Galvin La Chapelle’. Can’t wait to visit again in March.

I don’t know what to say other than what a meal! My husband and I had the 10 course taster and wines to suit. The flavours, tastes and presentation were exceptional with each course. The lamb belly was unreal! I’m much more a savoury person so the sweets at the end whilst lovely to taste I gave to my husband to enjoy but nothing was left or wasted. So glad we tried it and look forward to our next visit. Staff are also such a credit to you xx if I could give more than 5 I would! Thank you again.

We dined here as a group of friends and had the ten-course tasting menu. Service was delightful from the beginning and it was a very pleasant ambience. The food, however, was very disappointing. The first two courses- polenta and spelt waffle - were very impressive and we were excited about what was to come. The remaining eight dishes (with the exception of the lamb belly) were all underwhelming. All four of us agreed with this judgement. Having eaten at both Six By Nico locations on several occasions, this did not meet my expectations in any way. Such a shame.

First time in a Nico restaurant for a birthday treat and I can confirm the first class reputation that Nico has was matched by our experience. Mark the Area Manager took time to explain the Trust Menu to us and we sat down to 6 exceptional courses all matched by selected wines. Amazing food and wine, great service and now banked in my top 5 meals of all time. Bravo 111 by Nico, easy 5 star

We were a group of 10 booked in for the 10 course tasting menu. The restaurant is small with a lively loud atmosphere - I wouldn't say it would be particularly conducive for a romantic dinner for two! The combination of flavours of the food was well thought out and perfectly balanced and the presentation was a delight to the eye. The staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable on the food they were serving explaining what each dish was as it was served. The benefit of a tasting menu is you get to try dishes you may not ordinarily order and I can sassure you there was not a single dish served to us that was disliked by any of us.

We love this restaurant. The food is consistently good, and so is the service. We had the total surprise Sunday meal, five courses of beautifully cooked food. Service was very good. Standout for me was the mackerel dish, absolutely delicious. My husband loved the desert of Panna cotta with ice cream and fresh plum slices. Can't wait to eat here again.

Had the 10 course tasting menu with wine pairings last Saturday. Amazing food and thoughtful wine pairings with great service. This was for s very reasonable price. Would not hesitate to come back and is worth the journey outside the city centre. Highlights were the chicken liver parfait, pigeon, fish with mussels and the blue cheese course. Really great evening!

We ate out very often on my four week trip back to Glasgow from New Zealand. I have tried and tasted many dishes on my travels, but I have never trusted more than five courses in a single sitting before. I confess to some scepticism about the prospect of tasting ten on trust!

Visited on Saturday evening for the 10 course tasting menu. Let me start by saying the food was delicious. We showed up a little late and they were very gracious and accommodating about this at first. Everything went smoothly and they were very good at ensuring no nuts were in my food this was until the dessert as we’d run out of time and the table was booked again at 7. The dishes came out and luckily I spotted the walnuts. However I can’t have spotted it all as I ended up ill for the rest of my evening. A waste of £120 to end up sick

The trust menu was just that - you trust the chef to present you with an excellent tasting menu based on the ingredients of the day. The restaurant was cosy, casual and a little cafe-like, which contrasted well with the fine dining menu which looked both great visually and tasted stunning. Service was similarly great, and the staff were very attentive to our needs and any dietary changes needed. Great experience overall.

Over- seasoned for all the dishes. We went many times before trust menu and thoroughly enjoyed each time. First time we haven't enjoyed Nico's 111. We were a party of four on a Tuesday night. The salmon tartar was lovely and the coley. The other four dishes were over seasoned. Even the dessert was strange; best way to describe it was the deconstructed cheese cake was too strong. Sorry Nico's the the price, we won't be rushing back. We brought our family and friends from far and wide and had hoped to do the same this year but this experience has left us undecided.

Recently visited 111by Nico, after them messaging on Facebook with slots still available for the next 48hours (really good touch!) We done the 10 course tasting menu, were a bit apprehensive as we sometimes feel flavours are reused within the Nico restaurants. But the 10 course tasting menu was fantastic! The best we’ve eaten in Glasgow and for such a fantastic price! The service staff were so attentive and took pride in providing a high service.

? ? Decepcionado. Qué lástima.

Took my wife here for her birthday and we both absutely loved it. There are a couple of ways to choose to have your meal, either blind or part blind. We chose the blind option and didn't get a single meal correct but it was good fun and something a bit different. Each course comes with a specially chosen wine to compliment the meal. I am not a wine drinker at all but I can safely say the wines given to us were terrific and really did add to the experience. I can not recommend this restaurant enough and if your looking for an excellent meal, drinks but with a bit of a twist then get yourself along. Fantastic.

We had the 10 course tasting menu on the second night of its launch and it was fantastic. The flavours and combinations were brilliant. The staff were great, my partner has a nut allergy and this was catered to with no problems at all. We were also able to tweak meals to suit preference. Swapping the cheese course for an alternative was not a problem either. The whole experience of the tasting menu was really fun. Would highly recommend and will look forward to coming again to try some of the other menus on offer.

The last meal of a recent trip to Glasgow, we dined as a couple. Our waiter/sommelier was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. We dined on a Sunday, total trust menu, I'm guessing its just using up whatever they have left from the week and this is reflected in the very reasonable £20 a head for 5 course price (wine £25 extra). That said, nothing was of poor quality and it was all very well seasoned, cooked and balanced.

Stayed at the premier inn. Went for breakfast. We were informed it would be cooked fresh and not on a buffet. All 3 of us had an English breakfast. Everything was cold. Bacon was paper thin and had no flavor. Sausages cold and dry. Hash browns cold and overcooked. Poached eggs rock hard. Beans Luke warm. All the food had obviously been cooked hours before, or even the day before and just reheated slightly. Not good. Kids were then informed there was no pancakes, no Nutella, no plates left and one croissant that we split between 3 of us ha ha.

A lovely interior and it's in a great location. The staff seemed super friendly and professional. They had a decent cocktail menu, but being a "Gin Bar" I feel their gin selection is pretty poor... They didn't have the first 2 gins I asked for, one of which was a very common brand. There's plenty of non specialist bars in the area with a better gin selection. I was also a bit disappointed at the lack of perfect serve. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I don't think I'll be back.
