I am aware this cafe is now named “The Highlander” and it’s best to avoid unless you like waiting ages, I was on South Street and saw the balloon arch for the newly opened cafe, I wanted to give it a try having been to Cafe 109 on numerous occasions! I walked in to see 2 members of staff, one member of staff manning the coffee machines and one man (no name badges) on the main counter, not once did either of them look up to greet me or say hello. After what felt like an age the male looked up at me and said “hi” to which I replied back with a hi and then asked for what I wanted - I asked for a simple iced latte (£4!!!) and a bottle of water. He looked at me like I was talking in tongues, which had me questioning what on earth did I say? He then demands I “talk slower” which I must say I was talking perfectly normally, the girl on the coffee machines didn’t really step in to help either. Then, no word of a lie, he calls over another male member of staff (about 15/16?) and hands him a £2 coin and then sends him to Tesco across the road to get ice! I understand it’s their 1st day opening under a new name/team but that was absolutely unacceptable. So if you like to wait long periods of time, come here. I won’t be having a recommendation to friends.

Walked around Perth looking for somewhere for a late lunch/snack. So pleased we found Cafe 109. Extra friendly service, delicious breakfast rolls (still available at 2pm) plus coffee & cafe deal. Warmed cinnamon roll very enjoyable. Top marks to the staff for taking time to chat to the older solo customers too. Will be back!

Fantastic place with wonderful service. I went there on a cold November day and ordered the most delicious caramel apple crumble to take away and they threw in some custard in a separate container. Lovely staff and a lovely shop.

I visited the town, and I stopped by for coffee. The price was slightly higher than average, which is fine. However, It didn’t taste as coffee at all, it was just a ‘flavoured coffee water’. Not recommended for coffee at all!

Just opened last Thursday so small teething problems but I'm sure it will be a great little bar as the staff were very attentive. The upstairs lounge looks great btw. Will visit again when back down.

Food was very nice and staff were very welcoming and a good laugh also. I ordered the beef fajitas and I counted 6 bits of beef… that’s the only reason this isn’t a 5 star review. Maybe stay away from them. But apart from that the place is nice and food was good :)
